I live in the arbors at cal oaks. The community is doing carport repainting. The residents were given a very detailed schedule of the sections being painted. We complied with the schedule with no problems until today. My car was almost towed despite my section of carport having already being painted. The problem is a breakdown of communication between the painting company and the community office. This is all okay, human error. My issue is the attitude and disrespect from one of the tow drivers. He was verbally abusive to me, despite my having no prior warning that my carport spot needed to be empty. There were several tow trucks around my residence and the drivers were all very gleefully rude about towing vehicles. I understand this is a business but they had zero respect for the situation, for which I was not at fault. read more

Used them today as I was stranded on the highway off ramp. Arrived within 30 min and even helped me park my disabled vehicle at my home so our mechanic would be able to diagnose it later. I called in to ask about my vehicle and why it was towed, I got laughed at, yelled at and demeaned by the person who answered the phone. This place is an absolute joke they towed my car that was parked in front of my house at 11:30 at night so no one would know. I live in a gated community they did not care there excuse was that my tags were expired they expired that month. When I went to pick up my car the next day they charged me 510 to get it out because it was "after hours" they towed it on Friday night and they used that excuse because the next day was a Saturday. I called they told me to show up in a little over 1hr to pick it up I showed up they said the driver had left and I need to wait another 45 min!! They have been on a bender picking up cars in my community tonight at 3 am and are not even remotely being quiet about it. They picked up an SUV, set the alarm off and then proceeded to drive down multiple streets with the alarm going off looking for other vehicles instead of just leaving. Driving way to fast In a condo complex with a vehicle in tow around blind corners and narrow streets. Asked the guy to try and keep it down because he was waking up the neighbors dogs, multiple times, and his response was "not my problem" and was just really rude and dismissive. I get that it's your job but you don't need to go out of you way making as much noise as possible at 2-3am. I'll be contacting our HOA in the morning to see if this is the contracted towing company for the community. Almost read ended by Steve driving a wrecker on a local 40mph street because he was careless of who else was on the road. Attempted calling customer service or dispatch about their driver and got hung up on numerous times. Hopefully Greg will see this and address it appropriately before Steve ends up hurting someone on the road. If you're a property manager and have another option for using a towing company in the IE, go with another. Although appreciated that perhaps they wanted to warn an owner about their car being towed, or they plainly didn't want to do their job, they didn't take into consideration that I have a sick baby that they had woken up by honking and yelling for 10 minutes. When I asked them to quiet down, in order to show they were manly they doubled down and then two drivers honked and yelled and then coaxed on purpose another owner here at Belvista to start yelling. This is all at 7:30 am mind you. I have been in property management for 25 years and hassle never encountered such rude and inconsiderate tow truck drivers. Avalon management may not care, but if you're a good management company or manager, you'll choose another towing company for your property. read more

Worst towing service I've ever had to deal with. My car's battery died, so I needed a tow to my mechanic. Figured I would just call my roadside assistance and get it handled. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. Fully knowing that I was inside my house with my car parked right outside, the driver evidently came, took a picture of my car, and left immediately. No call, no text, no anything to inform me that they were here just so that they could try and bill my roadside assistance for service without actually doing anything. Then I speak with the dispatch woman who tells me what happened and apologizes telling me that she's going to have someone call and come get my car the first thing the next day at 7:00am. 7:00am comes and goes so I decide to call them at 7:20am to see if there was some hold up. Another guy answers the phone and tells me that he found it in the system and that it's set for 8:00am.....ok, it's just another 40 minutes. 8:00am comes and goes so decide to call them at 8:30. A different guy answers and says that because his driver came by yesterday and "I wasn't there" that they're not going to do anything and I have to contact my roadside assistance to get further assistance. Wow. Just wow. After calling my roadside assistance, I find out that they lied and put in their system that I wasn't available for the original tow. This means that roadside assistance won't allow me to use my roadside assistance for another 3 days per their policy. After explaining the situation to the roadside rep and them calling to confirm United Towing's attempt to exploit the system (which they did), I was finally able to get approval for another tow. 2:00pm the following day, I finally have another towing company coming to help me. All because United Towing was too unethical to help me in the first place. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs. read more

She came in to help my son who has cancer and can barely walk she came back outside to find out the limo was getting hooked up and the driver said if you give me $160 I'll give you back the car. I used this company to get a tow this evening. To say I'm unhappy is an understatement. First you guys quoted me for a little over $500.00 I had to get off the phone. I called back and was told the price was close to $700 because you guys needed a bigger truck. This price was very high compared to only a month ago I had to tow the same truck at a further distance for only $456.00. I was stuck and couldn't find another company so I used united Towing. I told the dispatcher to call me so I can meet the driver at the location the truck was going. No one called me so I called back and the truck was dropped off in the wrong place. I called the dispatcher Alica was her name, she informed me that the driver completed his job and I would be charged for the tow. Then told me she can quote me for another tow company to come and move the truck to the right location, she was very unprofessional. I ended up pushing the truck to where it should've been dropped off. I never told her I wasn't going to pay the over priced service. She assumed that I was calling to complain so I didn't have to pay for it. However, I don't think they should be double charging people and taking advantage of people in need. Got towed in day time after unloading groceries during the corona virus. Rude staff. First they said that tow truck is on the way and I can't pick it up until 4.45pm. While waiting called and checked to see how soon the car will be arriving- they said "Is't here on the lot, and I don't know who you talked to. Total is 441 for what? Unloading yard fee 125 or somehting, 125 to open the gate - they are closed supposedly, and towing charge. I contacted ACLU and got a response quick. No one likes getting their car towed but when it comes down to it, a rule or law was broken and now you have to pay the $315 consequence. Lucky for me, I have an emergency fund so things like this don't make me angry at OTHER people. I called the evening it was towed and was told it would cost over $400 to take down but if I waited until morning, it would cost around $300. That was fine for me, I was tired anyways. I called in the morning to verify the amount it would cost and what time they would be open. The women on the phone wasn't overly friendly but gave me the correct information. Upon arriving, Rico let me know I would need a letter of authorization from the car rental I used to get the car back. The car rental company didn't like that and spoke over speaker phone with Rico who let them know the protocol. Rico had to explain that it had to do with liability and various situations where even the contract could be invalid. I understood completely, he's doing his job and has to cover his butt. So I was not mad. While waiting for the letter to be emailed to me, Rico moved forward with the paperwork, copying my ID and charging my card. We had a conversation about how angry people get and even about the yelp reviews. Here's the thing, when money is involved, it can make anyone lose control and we both agreed that an extra $300 on any given day can make someone pretty angry. He was surprised at how calm and understanding I was and I assured him that it was only because I could pay to get the car back! They've had my vehicle less than 30 days due to an accident. We did not choose them, the responding officer called them. I am still in the process of finalizing the insurance claim. Again it has only been 3 weeks, and the vehicle is totalled. Our insurance company has been amazing, but these things take time, obviously. So today we receive from the DMV a notice that these guys have petitioned the DMV to take title!!! A $45,000 vehicle, over $1000 or so in fees which they will be receiving from the insurance company once it's all sorted out, which should only be a few more days. They have never contacted us directly to ask about payment, or billed us anything. I presumed they had invoiced the insurance company but it seems they would rather steal my truck. Even wrecked it's worth 20k in parts I'm sure, or certainly more than $1000. I am lucky, I received this notice in a timely manner and will act on it. What if I hadn't received it? The way it's worded is you must respond or the DMV awards them the title...by default!! How many poor souls have missed the notice because they were in the hospital from the accident or just good old fashioned lost mail??? How many vehicles have you guys stolen this way??? From people already in crisis over the accident that brought their vehicle inside your gates in the first place??? I could see if it's been 60 days and they haven't heard anything, have tried to collect their fees, etc. It's been less than 30 days on a pretty complicated insurance claim which has a police report, DMV report, and insurance #. They have every means to keep themselves updated that things are proceeding. If you don't want to hold vehicles for the time it takes to sort an insurance claim, then DON'T ACCEPT INSURANCE/ACCIDENT JOBS!!! Stick to the low hanging fruit towing out of bars and apartments, so you can make yourselves feel ok for treating folks like crap because they god forbid made a mistake of parking in the wrong place for a few hours. Liz on dispatch was helpful and informative when J called for help in locating my vehicle. Chuck, the driver, was rude and dismissive when I tried to calmly communicate my misunderstanding with the tow zone. The signs in downtown Temecula near two shops (Taos and Lavender Co) can be unclear to anyone not from the area. I believed that Taos was the name of the entire plaza, and not just one small shop. At any rate, I understand that the guy is doing his job but being unwilling to help another person in any sort of understanding is trashy behavior. read more

United Towing are bullies!!! They towed us, we picked our SUV up within an hour...It cost me $310. "Chuck" the tow driver had me sign the release/Invoice before he let us view our SUV. Our Invoice has a line item stating "Police Dept" $210. The next day I called the police dept...an officer & the traffic corporal both confirmed the Police Dept had nothing to do with the tow. United towing dispatch told me "Chuck" has many complaints... she suggested I talk to his supervisor. "Rico" the supervisor hung up the phone on me when I called him to gather facts. I have requested the tow authorization form and still have not received it in the mail. There are many victims of Untied towing in the Murrieta/Temecula area. Pass this info on....and report them to the authorities :) read more
