Visited my 1st coffee stand-shack-kiosk in Washington today! I've visited WA many times but realized today I had never visited a mini standalone. Unity Coffee offers a pretty good selection of drinks, savories and baked goods... way more than I imagined for such a compact space. Service was with a smile and quick. My usual morning caffeine fix is doppio con panna but today i ordered an iced caramel macchiato. Loved it. Perfectly made and not overly sweet. If you're in the area, it's right off the 5. Give them a try.

Update on my review! Finally got to stop by this place and thank the lord the gal who helped me knew what a cappuccino was! I'm a hard core cap drinker and yes I pay $5 for espresso and foam. And I love it. Hope to stop there again :)

Friday afternoon around 1:00 pm. After conducting business with the nearby Legendary Clearview True…read moreValue Hardware, decided to revisit. It's been too long. My usual is a bean burrito, which is massive and tasty. This time I ask for something "That's got meat and cheese". Mamacita decides her Tostadas will fit the bill. She explains it has a roasted medium hot pepper and some salad veggies if I feel like adding extra. Two sauces are provided: red and green. I agree. Her wisdom prevails. I add two pineapple jarritos pina's to drink. The food is hot and fresh. The beef carne asada has been chopped and added to a generous layer of cheese. The beef flavor is super robust: she probably salted it and grilled it on a flattop. It has that slightly charred look. Two whole tostadas are supplied. The tortillas is cooked perfectly and is flavorful. Almost buttery in flavor and tender. One serving would have been enough, so if you're packing a light lunch for two this might work. The veggies are crisp and flavorful- radish, cucumber, tomato, lettuce. Not enough in my opinion. The sauces I typically avoid due to the heat level. But I did take one for the team and taste them. Both pack a punch of flavor and heat. Fortunately sour cream is included in the meal to cool the burn. The pineapple soda is more of a dessert thing for me. I very rarely drink soda. In this case I make the exception. They use pure cane sugar in the formula, not corn syrup. The finish is smooth and lingering. A bubbly pineapple juice type drink. So portion size and flavor would have made it a regular item for me to order next time. With one exception. After finishing one of the two tostadas, I noticed my blood pressure shot up. Enough so that I didn't finish the second one. This is mostly my fault : cheese with salted meat is a solid combination for high blood pressure. For those being mindful of their salt intake, I would pass on the tostada, see if they are willing to sub with chicken, or go vegetarian without the meat.

The employees were friendly and moved fast to get food out and keep the line moving but they also don't rush you. The tacos were delicious and a great value - lots of meat on each. One thing to note, I paid with credit card and they don't have you sign the receipt so you can't tip if you don't have cash. I wish I had known so I could have prepared and had a cash tip and will be sure to plan for that next time.

Several different options with hotdogs and polish sausage- my absolute favorites are the Seattle Dog and the Midnight Sophie. Whichever you choose- don't forget to ask for some of their homemade slaw to top that beautiful dog! I first found Secret Sausage outside the Owl and Thistle in Pioneer Square. Then outside the Clink after a game. It was an elusive Seattle street food treat- and in a lot of ways still is. They've expanded in recent years so sometimes you can find them at Microsoft campuses on occasion too. But I'll let you in on a little secret... they have a deal with the Thunderbird Tavern in Ballard. So if you're craving a Seattle Dog on a random Tuesday at 8:30pm for example... high tail it to the Thunderbird and get you one! Especially on a warm Summer evening: a Seattle dog with extra slaw, a glass of your favorite cold drink and a spot on the back patio - doesn't that sound so good right now?! Another favorite with Secret Sausage is The Firlander Sauce. While I personally am not a big fan of hot sauce, this spicy condiment has been a staple in our family for several years now. I've been told it makes a good gourmet hotdog over-the-top good! Ha! So if you're a hot sauce fan- it's a must try. Locally owned small business with a commitment to quality. Every hotdog I've ever had from them (ahem, and there have been a few over the years,) has been consistently good. Seriously, the best!

We ordered the two piece Pacific Cod fish and chips. It's easily the best fish&chips I've had to date. The portion was generous, and everything tasted freshly made. The batter was light, airy and perfectly crispy, while the cod was tender, flaky, fried to perfection. The chips are crispy too. Overall a very satisfying meal. The fish and chips are incredible. Truly. And fair warning the halibut is HUGE. Two of us ordered a three piece and threw the third piece out we were stuffed. Taking away one star for the Clam chowder. The clams were fire but the chowder is the red kind not the white and that would be okay except it is full of cilantro (????) and seasoned like a Masala or Butter Indian sauce. That's a pretty big departure from ANY clam chowder I have ever tasted and definitely needs to be disclosed as it was pricey. We tossed the whole thing. We will for sure be back for the fish and chips!
