A member of their team came and fixed my dishwasher more than a year ago. The service was pricey but I have not had a problem since because he did such a good job fixing it, gave me excellent tips for preventing a reoccurrence of the problem, and I have followed those tips. Absolutely incompetent. Terrible. They come and take a look at my dishwasher, and they determine it needs a new motor. Great. The guy says he is going to order the part. The entire company completely ghost after that. They don't give updates or anything on parts ordered, scheduling, or why the delay. Nothing. I call Universal Appliance, no answer. I called the direct number of the guy who came to look at the dishwasher multiple times. No answer, doesn't return the calls. I text him. Nothing. Now, two weeks have gone by. I go to BestBuy (where I bought the dishwasher), and they tell me to call GeekSquad because they do the warranty contracting. Universal Appliance tells Geek Squad "we will call in 48 hours." 48 hours later, no call. 3 weeks have gone by. I call again to Geek Squad, they call Universal Appliance, and Universal Appliance says "we will call in 48 hours." It has been 3.5 weeks since they came and told me I need a new motor for my dishwasher. Finally, I get an email saying that the part was ordered. It took them a MONTH to even order the part. Then, it supposed to take a week to even come in the mail, and then I am supposed to call them and then schedule the repair. I am going to file a complain with the Better Business Bureau. I scheduled my appointment a month in advance for my repair. I was told they can't come after I get off work so I took the day off work just to get my repair done. The day that they were supposed to come out a rude woman called to tell me they didn't get the part in so they weren't coming. We were assigned by our home warranty at the beginning of April UAS to repair the ice-maker on our refrigerator. They have cancelled their appointments 5x. It is now almost the end of May. One time the technician came out, parked and told me he didn't have the part in his truck and drove away. I had to call CS to get another appointment, which they book out 1 week in advance. I already paid my deductible so I feel I am stuck with them jerking us around until the ice-maker gets fixed. This place is horrible. read more

I had an appointment with this company through Lowe's warranty service. They were booked for today, I took off work, the rudest person that I have ever encountered as a representative (Jennifer) of a business said they were not going to be able to make the appointment for today, and that they would "attempt To work Me in tomorrow". My refrigerator is not cold and food would go bad for that long. I explained this to her and she said oh well. I do not recommend this company and Jennifer is not a good representative for this company. She also stated after I said I would go to a different company, "good luck in getting another company out this week". I can see why this company has such bad reviews. read more

Tech visited our home twice regarding our dishwasher. During the first visit we reported the machine was not cleaning dishes and detergent was not dispensing. The tech stated the dishwasher was not hooked up properly. This was explanation confusing since the machine has operating properly for 5 years with no installation-related issues. No repair was made, and we continued using the dishwasher by pre-washing dishes by hand. Eventually, the dishwasher stopped working altogether. During the second visit, the tech was was at our home less than ten minutes. He observed mouse droppings underneath the dishwasher and immediately concluded that a mouse caused the failure. However, he did not perform any diagnostic testing, did not attempt to start the machine, and did not inspect the appliance before making this determination. After further investigation we found no evidence of rodent damage. There are no chewed or damaged wires, and all the plastic tubing remains intact and secured. Other individuals examined the dishwasher, and they are not seeing any visible mouse damage. Given the lack of diagnostic testing, and any physical evidence of rodent damage. Our Home Warranty Sided with with this company even though we have pictures to support our claim. I would not recommend this company to anyone. One star rating is to high for these techs. read more

Man this place has really changed for the worse before I was really satisfied with their work but the recent trips out to repair different appliances around the house was different they didn't show up with right parts they were rude and unprofessional. We've been trying since 10/24/23 to get a repairman to come fix our dishwasher. Our Samsung dishwasher is only a few months old and under warranty. Samsung assigned the repair to Universal appliance service and gave us a date for the repair. Universal appliance repair dispatch called us to change that appointment to something later in the week. They have since then canceled their appointments three other times. Now, I'm battling Samsung to send a different company. Apparently nobody wants to do warranty work. read more

Tried to replace the screws missing from the door inner panel, that I found in the bottom of the dishwasher. This jerk stripped out the sockets. There is a torque setting on battery powered drivers. Abbearently he is either not aware of this feature or too lazy to use it. read more

Same day repair my butt! Each time a service call was placed I told them what part was bad and each time tech showed up with NO PARTS! Then he had to order part and I had to take ANOTHER DAY OFF WORK! Three times in one year I called for dryer drum rollers making noise, three times they replaced the rollers. Unreliable. We had a technician come out to provide work on our washer and he claimed a part was needed for the repair. We were told a few days for the part and the tech said he would be back the following week. I called to confirm the appointment and the company had no record of the follow up and the part was delayed. A few days went by and the part was delayed again. I called yet again to confirm only to be told the part was delayed yet again. The company never called me with an update of my repair or the status of the part and I had to call them each time. I paid 90$ for a 10 mins "service" call for a part that never arrived. read more

Universal is the contractor with our home warranty. Justin, the tech that came out was great and found out what was wrong with our washing machine. However, the rest went downhill. The diagnosis was never transmitted to our warranty company. I phoned Universal several times and left messages but received no call backs. They were assigned to us on 12/28 and the tech came out on 12/5. As of 12/11 nothing has happened. read more

They scheduled an appointment at least two weeks out at 1:00, I called them at 3:00 to find out what was going on, because no one showed up, I left massage on voicemail, today I got an email that they rejected the service! I just got off the phone with Jennifer at universal appliance. She had called to confirm an appointment that we had made with the Lowes service dept to service our dryer. She said that they could not make the agreed upon appointment before noon. I commented that we needed our appointment before noon, just tell us what day that they could come out and we would make it work. She said that they are coming from Okolona and could not promise an appointment in Shepherdsville before noon, (that is a 30 minute drive). She was unwilling to commit to that and said that we needed to get another service provider. Wow, what Great customer service. read more

Our Samsung fridge ice maker stopped working weeks ago and after doing research and wrestling with Samsung, they covered the repair and referred us to an authorized service provider (a different one) but when I called them, there was no answer so I called Samsung back and requested to use Universal Appliance instead since I knew they are authorized with Samsung as well. I called and was able to schedule an appointment quickly through Jennifer who was very pleasant and efficient. The tech came out and quickly analyzed the issue. Said he needed to order parts but it was the week of Thanksgiving so it would take a couple of business days longer to receive them. The parts arrived faster than anticipated and a week later, Eric came and installed the parts. He was very professional and communicative. I had an appointment setup through our home warranty company. When I called to get the details and time, the lady on the phone provided me with a tip to try. I tried it and it resolved the problem with our oven. This saved me time and the cost of a service call. While I have not had work performed, I will certainly call again if I need service. This was a simple fix that they could have made money on, but allowed me to try it first. Companies like this are hard to find and should be commended. read more

A professional worked on our dryer for about 2 hours and traced the problem to a hidden fuse that was defective. A new fuse was installed on the spot. Our dryer is working as it were brand new. We were directed to Universal Appliance through our home warranty plan so we had no choice. If you have the chance to choose, BRING your business ELSEWHERE. Person receiving calls was very rude, passive aggressive. Took 3 visits to resolve a washer pump replacement. First guy spent less than 10 minutes and concluded it was the pump. Said he had to order the pump which was fine. 2nd guy came 5 days later, but brought the wrong pump. We were told he'd order the pump and put us on the list asap. 5 days later, still no call. I called Universal Appliance and was told our ticket was closed. When I explained that our issue was never resolved and that we were waiting for a call regarding the pump replacement, rude lady then said pump came in the day before and that we were on her list to be called. This was already 2:30pm on a Friday. They of course could not get us in until Wednesday the following week. We have been without a washer for 2 weeks then. I asked if this was the average time it took for them to resolve a case like ours, and she gave a lengthy explanation, rather that just sincerely apologizing and appeasing the client. She "apologized" in a very passive aggressive manner, stated that she had NO TIME to go over this with a client, then hung up. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. bring your business elsewhere. read more

I've had two repairmen come to my house . One was wonderful, the other was horrible. John was condescending and insisted that he check the accuracy of my oven temperature by baking biscuits. His "test" yielded burnt biscuits on the bottom and overly brown tops. He said that was due to the oven rack being too low. Yet he couldn't explain why, if the rack was too low, the tops had not cooked evenly. When I asked why he came to my house without the proper equipment to measure the heat of my oven, he said that's why he baked biscuits. I told him I thought an actual device would more accurately measure the temp than baking biscuits, and he grunted at me. He then called GE customer service and their solution was to get me an owner's manual. I'm still not sure how an owner's manual is going to help me regulate the heat of my oven. I set it at 400 and it only heats to 375. I set it at 400 and it heats to 325. How will a manual help that? CJ is now working on my problem. I hope he will get it resolved. Either way, John from Universal Appliance will not be welcome in my home anymore. read more

They were to come between 9 -12. they arrived at 12 and told me the drain was frozen on my refrig. He said either unplug it for 48 hours or he could use a blow dryer to fix it. He used my hair blow dryer and my bathroom towels to work on it. When he left the wet dirty towels were on the floor with the blow dryer. Not very professional. While he worked on it he left the frozen food in the sink instead of in a cooler. I can now throw them out with the towels. Don't call this company no matter what. read more

Universal is an authorized warranty repair provider for Frigidaire. I had a repeatedly malfunctioning icemaker in my new fridge. Over the course of a year, Universal came to the house multiple times to fix/replace it. I think I'm on my 4th full replacement unit now. In any event, with no invoice and with no authorization, I start getting repeated calls from "Amber" at ext. 307 dunning me for over $200 for what she claimed was an uncovered replacement past the warranty period. She ignored my return calls explaining the dates of the warranty, etc., and ultimately threatened to have someone come out and REMOVE the latest icemaker from my fridge. In frustration, I called Frigidaire, who confirmed the warranty coverage, and expressed surprise and dismay that Universal was approaching me for payment directly. She said they are attempting to double bill, and will ostensibly address it. In any event, it doesn't speak highly for the company. read more
