At first, I wasn't sure how I felt about it -- the technique felt a bit brisk and not as relaxing as I'd expected. But by the end, I was impressed by the quality of the products used, and it included a quick blow-dry as well. I got a pedicure and dips on my fingernails. I did the $99 head spa and I really enjoyed my visit.

Extremely disappointed and would not recommend this salon. We were rushed from the start, even though the salon was nearly empty. I requested 2 organic pedicures, 1 organic manicure, and 1 acrylic set, but was hurried to pick a color immediately. The technician cut my cuticles multiple times, leaving them sore and bloody, and my nails ended up uneven and shorter than expected due to constant reshaping. As we neared the end of our service, I asked about my spouse's manicure, but we were ignored until the very end, at which point we just asked to remove it. It would have been better if they simply told us they couldn't accommodate us. At checkout, I mentioned an online special but was told it no longer applied. After asking for an adjustment due to the painful cuts, he brushed me off and added \$40 to my bill for a forgotten gel charge, with no apology for the confusion or poor service. We won't be returning and suggest visiting other salons in the Gates of Prosper area with better service for the same price. read more

I had beautiful natural nails. I only wanted a polish and a pushback of my cuticle. Instead, she used an electronic drill to take off the entire surface of my nails and cut all my cuticles. I'm so mad my nails are ruined. It is gonna take months to grow them out. I just still can't believe that this is why I don't trust anybody to do manicures I just wanted a basic manicures and she has ruined my nails. And the checkout guy forced me to tip! I had been going to a different nail salon for months where the service had been declining nearly every time after my fourth visit. After having a nail tech almost make me cry, I decided that I was officially on the scout for a new salon. I'd seen Universal Nail and Spa on TikTok and Instagram and immediately wanted to try it out, so my mom and I made appointments for Friday, June 27. My nail tech, Crystal, was incredibly kind and checked with me several times throughout the service to make sure I didn't need any changes and if I liked my nails. She pointed out that my thumb may look a little different compared to the rest of my hand because the nail length was naturally shorter than the rest of my nails. Totally fine -- it had nothing to do with her but I appreciated that she still made me aware. And again, at the end of my service, she checked with me once more to make sure I was satisfied. Even though the salon is further away than my old place, I think it's worth the extra 20 minutes of driving to come here. I highly recommend Crystal -- it's obvious she's talented but she also has a wonderful personality and made my visit all the more better. My mom also had a nice experience with her nail tech, Tobi. I have been 2 to 3 times here. This last time I had a pedicure for the 1st time here and it was great. The place is in a great location off Preston right in front of UNT. It's very cool looking inside with a full bar! The guy running the place is very friendly and he is always encouraging me to get a second mimosa! #win I always do the dipping manicure and they last at least 4 weeks or more. Excellent service. Prices are similar to all the other salons. They offer hair washing/massages? And I cannot wait to try them. It looks so relaxing (they have a TV showing the process on a loop). This establishment definitely gives off high end aesthetics but the services and staff don't match up. Rushed to select a service and color only to be left waiting over 10-15 min for my service to start. My organic pedicure came with a 30 minute massage however I only received a 10 minute rub down of my legs. The service also mentioned a mud mask but I only received Paraffin wax. To pay $80 for a spa pedicure only to receive a basic pedicure worth $40 max was upsetting and a gross exasperation to the service provided. While the salon is pretty, the service and product don't live up to the hype. read more

Came here randomly as I was looking for a nail salon while I was in Frisco for the day. Left my cuticles in a worse position than when I came in with a gel manicure. Nails came out uneven and messy. For my pedicure, I came in with square toe nails and I specifically asked to keep them square. The nail tech made them round. I will say that the staff was very kind when I communicated that I was dissatisfied offering to redo them, but I didn't have time to stay another hour as well as my toe nails were not fixable considering the damage was already done and as short as they possibly could be. I don't recommend if you are particular about the shape of your nails. For the price of these services, I'm extremely disappointed and will not be returning. read more

Though, past of couple times my appointment times were messed up, I was told my appointment was a different time, when I had messages from the business proving that I was indeed on time. Their website is not working correctly and you can't make an appointment with the person you prefer. Also, past couple of times the quality of service declined, I felt rushed, uncomfortable and had to wait awhile, even with the confirmed appointment time. I have been going to the salon for about six months and have been with Jenny. Jenny has always done my nails with great precision and artistry. She listens to how I want my nails, but also gives her professional opinion and executes the vision every time. Although she is very knowledgeable and fast, the work is amazing and I'm out of there within an hour and or hour 30 minutes tops. I get so many compliments on my nails and always refer people to the spa as soon as you walk in your greeted and the wait time is not super long They offer you a complementary drink during your service and get you out of there as soon as possible. read more

Oh man how much I wanted to love this place. It's BEAUTIFUL inside I'll give them that and the staff is very friendly. I went in with my mother in law and spent $300 for two pedicures and one manicure, as well as one manicure and dip. We wanted to get pampered and relax. Not even the same day my heel after getting a pedicure is DRY! I called the next day and the guy said I need to come in tomorrow in order to get it fixed. The problem is I have a 6 month old at home and this salon was 25 min away. I asked if I could come in anytime that week he said no. I unfortunately missed my day as my son had a fever so I'll be having to go elsewhere to get it fixed. Got a decent pedicure but tried to use the polish to paint a couple of my hand nails. Didn't think it was a big deal. Wanted a couple of nails to match toes but didn't need a full mani. Was told I couldn't do that. No biggy I understand and stopped. Then needed one nail to be fixed and as she was doing it, I wanted a more specific shape so I asked to do it myself. As I was filing it, I got told I needed to leave as I wasn't allowed to use their file to do it myself. So I paid (was fully charged even though she didn't even finish) and left. This location just opened and I booked an appointment after I saw an Instagram ad. The spa and location is very nice and clean with tons of space. However I did not enjoy my service. I booked the 90 minute Love Yourself Head Spa & Facial. The room itself is very nice. I liked the music and smell of the shampoos and oils. However I felt like I was going through the car wash instead of the spa. Maybe it was just my provider, but I found the actual experience to be very rough, very fast and too much pressure. It was not relaxing at all. My provider did not ask me how I liked the pressure or if everything was feeling ok. There was one part of the scalp massage that was so uncomfortable I almost asked her to stop bc it was not enjoyable. After the treatment they dry your hair a little bit but it's in a room off the head spa room so you can hear the hair dryers during your spa service. The staff was kind but another thing I noticed is when they don't have a client they all sit on the side of the spa on their phones. I think an employee break room would be better. I wish I had a better experience because it is a lovely salon but I will try another location. read more
