To confirm, I called the store the morning of my visit and spoke with Becca, who assured me that the perfume was on hold under my name. After driving over an hour to purchase the perfume, I arrived at the store only to be told that the item had been sold and was now completely out of stock. What makes this situation so frustrating is that I specifically called ahead to verify the hold before making the trip. Had I been told the item was unavailable or that the store could not guarantee the hold, I would not have wasted my time and gas driving such a long distance. Melissa, a sales associate, explained that the store does not hold "hot" items. However, this policy was never communicated to me when I called. More disappointing was the lack of any effort to resolve the issue or make things right. When I asked to speak with the General Manager, Maria, I was met with the same lack of concern. Neither employee provided a solution, an apology that felt genuine, or any indication that they understood the inconvenience caused. The issue is not that the product sold out--the issue is that I was explicitly told the item was being held for me, only to arrive and find out otherwise. The lack of communication, accountability, and customer care was unacceptable. Management needs to improve communication within the team and with customers. After years of shopping at Ulta, I left feeling frustrated, ignored, and completely undervalued. Based on this experience, I can understand why this location has such poor reviews. Do better, Ulta.
