Overall, it was fun, we and our son had a great time. This hotel is a budget hotel. Check-in to the hotel was easy and the desk person was kind and helpful. Getting our park passes and information from the park pass desk, was almost the opposite. She got us our passes and vouchers, yes, but did not provide details we didn't know existed, like where to go for our early entry breakfast at Three Cauldrons as the park is not open for early entry... Honestly, with the level of service from the pass desk, we would have been better off if the passes were mailed or emailed to us instead, with detailed instructions. The hotel isn't bad, but every night was noisy after 11pm. It seems like the hotel just is not insulated well. The worst part, I don't think they clean the floors in the rooms. Ours was incredibly dirty, making the bottom of our socks black'ish. Also, poorly maintained as some of our lights did not work, making the room fairly dark when trying to get ready in the mornings. Lastly, they say the Universal shuttle bus arrives about every 10 minutes, but this is also not true. Multiple occasions it was closer to 30 minutes with a couple times being over 45 minutes. I will say that Surfside has the way shorter line. However, there were times where the bus wouldn't go to Surfside unless there were passengers still on it after dropping off at Dockside. Overall, Universal has created this preferred hotel, shuttle bus situation and IMO, they do not do it well. All they need to do is provide clean rooms and timely transportation. -Maybe toss in an informative pass desk representative. We'll skip Universal Orlando from here on out. It's A LOT of money and the hotel and concierge experience just falls flat.

You can see the fireworks show from a patio connected to the lobby as well as the restaurant. Which was my main way of watching it as my kid was ready to go to bed from walking all day. Bussing to the other parks is surprisingly convenient, there is one bus for Volcano bay, and another that drops you at security for city walk, Univeral & islands of adventure. Bonus points for it being the first bus as you get off the esscilator after your park day over there! The dedicated entrance made it super easy to just walk right into the park. To the point that our day spent at universal & IOA, we ended up coming over here to get another couple refills on our cup and grab a snack. It also made it super easy on the day that Monsters unchained had been down all day to hop up when it reopened and re enter the park to ride it when it opened an hour before park closed, and a lot of people had called it a day. The room itself was really nice. We went with a more basic option that ended up overlooking the pool area. All of the staff went above and beyond to help with anything we needed. From front desk, the gift shop and the universal desk. We didn't try the restaurant, due to having so many options in park we wanted to try. The biggest issue I could say about this place is pricing. There are times if you luck out that you can snag a room for 200. But most of the time this is one of the more premium priced rooms. The perk of being right at epic made it worth springing extra due to my 11 year olds needs, and honestly us adults appreciated it too. Though I'm sure it's a turn off for many. For us we plan on staying here if we add a single day stay for coming by Epic just before or after a cruise. Maybe even do a toothless suite that time cause we couldn't do it this time. .

The biggest perk is that the stay comes with early park entry and unlimited Express Passes for Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, which made a huge difference in our trip. Transportation was very convenient. They offer shuttles to Epic Universe and a boat ride to CityWalk, which makes it easy to walk into Islands of Adventure. The resort itself was clean and really nice upon arrival. We dropped our luggage off and headed straight to the park, and when we returned that evening, our bags had already been delivered to our room. The room was clean and comfortable. There's a shop with food, snacks, and souvenirs. I would recommend buying lanyards ahead of time (we paid about $45 for two at the resort, and you need them for Express Passes). We also did room service one night, which was a great experience--they brought in a table and set everything up in the room, which felt like a nice treat after a long park day. Overall, it was a great stay and we would definitely consider staying here again, especially for the included Express Passes.

Firstly.....this place is GOR.GEOUS. The spanish/Mexican/Southwestern theming is beyond beautiful. The layout is nice, with the Three Bridges tying everything together. The pool here is top notch and there are a multitude of food options. (More on this in a second...) About the pool, it is HUMONGOUS, and exquisitely themed, with a huge Mayan temple and super long "Jaguar slide." The hot tube is the biggest in all of Disney, and there is a playground adjacent to the pool. There is only a TINY, non descript basically toddler splash pad, and no water play area for the kids though. Everyone complains about the busses because of the size of the resort, but that wasn't nearly as big an issue as it's made out to seem. (There IS an issue with the busses, but again....give me a second.) I wasn't able to see the actual rooms at Coronado as, again, I stayed at the Gran Destino Tower, but if they look half as nice on the inside as they do the outside you should be fine. Seriously, this place is visually stunning. The knocks are few, but potentially big. First and foremost, the El Mercado quick service dining is, in Coronado Springs parlance, BASURA. Absolute trash. The main dining facility of Coronado is almost inedible. LUCKILY, you have other options within literal feet of El Mercado (in Rix sports bar, and Maya Grill,) and then the Three Bridges Bar and Grill a quick stroll away. Hell, even eating at Siestas pool bar is 100 times better than El Mercado. The food at El Mercado was just terrible. We ate there once, and then never again. The choices are terrible, the execution much much worse, and the price was way too much for the quality you get. For literally a few dollars more, you can get a MUCH better meal elsewhere. The Barcelona LOUNGE; a literal bar in the Gran Destino Tower, served a better breakfast sandwich than the MAIN FOOD COURT OF THE HOTEL. If there weren't so many other food options, I would never stay here again because of El Mercado alone. About those busses; like I said, it's not that big of a deal vis a vie resort size. Yes, Coronado is big, but the bus situation is not like say Caribbean Beach, where the busses feel like a war of attrition. There are only 4 bus stops at CS. The loop does not take that long at all. But what IS mildly infuriating is that there is no rhyme or reason to the stops. Gran Destino is "stop 1" on the loop, but sometimes it was the first stop heading out, sometimes the last. Sometimes on the way back from the park, the driver would drive past and start at bus stop 2. It was never the same day to day, park to park, driver to driver. You never knew if you were going to be the first/last/only stop, as all 3 happened multiple times during our stay. Also, there is a direct bus to Blizzard Beach, but not Typhoon Lagoon; for you water park types out there. Overall, Coronado* is my new favorite hotel. The * is for Gran Destino. I would stay there a thousand more times. I think if I had to stay at Coronado Springs proper, I would probably skip it, as everything seems to be situated around the Tower, and the bus only caveat is annoying. It looks like if you were booked in the far out Ranchos/Casitas, you would have a HEFTY walk to things. The busses are worse at Caribbean Beach, but at least you have the Sky Liner there. Lastly, if you're a Disney aficionado, you might not appreciate the EXTREMELY subtle Disney theming. The most you'll get are a few hidden Mickeys. I actually appreciate it. Look: 5 out 5 Location: 3.5 out of 5 (Super close to AK and HS, close to Epcot. MK is a bit of a trip) Food: 3 out of 5 (3 Bridges and Maya are GREAT, Rix is ok, El Mercado is egregious) Transportation: 3 out of 5 Pool: 4 out of 5 (Jaguar slide is long, pool is HUGE. This one is tough. I truly loved this resort the first time I stayed here but this time it was just…read moreok. I did the mobile check-in on the app but when I tried to scan into the parking lot a woman came over the intercom and asked if I had been to my room yet. I had not. She let me know that I'd have to come back to the parking kiosk to check in. I was in the back of a Lyft so I was trying to explain all of this to the driver while I was still confused myself. I think what happened was the parking kiosk attendant was supposed to check me in but they had just waved us on through. Totally fine but no apology from either person, just telling me I'm in the wrong. I checked the app as well to see if it said it somewhere obvious that I missed but I didn't see it. I had a hard time finding my building and room this time. I got turned around every single time I tried to find my room in the Casitas. I don't remember having that problem last time. Last complaint is that the bathroom fan is automatic. It stays on for about 20 minutes any time you walk past it. Makes sense, but it was loud. And, again, I don't remember that from last time. I would definitely just stay in the tower next time to save myself some trouble. The things I loved the most were the super easy bus transportation to the parks and Disney Springs and the variety of restaurants. But those are also something you can find at any Disney resort.

We also liked that the toilet and shower were separated by a wall and door from the sink so people could get ready while someone was using the facilities. We never used the electronic device by the phone and turned it off so it didn't glow in the dark; it seemed unnecessary. We had items delivered to the hotel twice and the expensive item was kept in a safe until we came to pick it up, while the case of water and other small items were easily retrieved by someone working in the luggage room. Everything at Riverside is kept clean, employees are generally happy to help, and we were happy with our stay overall. The gift shop had some of the same souvenirs found at the park as well as medicine and other items guests might need during their stay. The staff there was wonderful. On our first day it was raining, so since we couldn't go to the water park as planned, we went to the bar by the pool for a drink. The drinks were pre-mixed, so nothing fancy, but the bartender was friendly nice, and it was fairly quiet and peaceful. As far as location, we liked that we were close to the registration area because it was a quick walk to French Quarter for beignets every morning, and we were a quick bus ride to the parks. My only complaint is that housekeeping let us down. I went to the desk one morning to have the sheets on one bed changed (it was our day off housekeeping) because something was on the sheets. The employee made a note on our reservation. When we got back to the room at 11 p.m., the room had been serviced and the beds made, but the sheets weren't changed--which was the only thing we needed done. Unfortunately, one person had to sleep on dirty sheets with a towel between. Then, because they "cleaned" our room on an unscheduled day, they didn't clean it the last scheduled day, so we didn't have enough towels and washcloths as we assumed they would be replaced while we were at the park on our last night at Disney.

We arrived early and were checked in with no real issues, we had a few hours until our room was ready so we decided to check our bags with the bell service and hang out by the pool. When we left the lobby we crossed the bridge to the pool but found it impossible to secure at least one available chair at 11am on a Sunday Morning. We eventually found someone willing to give up theirs and spent some time in the pool. Good size pool area but let down by a limited amount of chairs for the amount of people. We made our way to our room in the Oak Manor building and found it to be quite the hike from there to the main building, there was a pool that was a little closer ( Smaller ) so we spent some time there but found there to be no lifeguards on duty, Room was fine, clean with decent amenities. We found the on site restaurant ( Cafe not sit down restaurant ) to have limited choices of food and it gets VERY busy very often and I never saw more than 3 cashiers working at any one time...even though there were at least 6 registers. Last day was a let down, The previous afternoon I went to the front desk and requested a late check out the next day if it was available. I was told we were approved to check out at 12:30. The next morning I went into my Disney app and noticed that it still showed an 11am checkout, when I called the front desk they said they had no record of it and I would have to check out at 11am, I told them we already made plans that morning around the 12:30 checkout so they would have to honor it. 2 phone calls later I was told that due to our reservation being part of a group it normally wouldn't be allowed,but they would make an "exception". Look, if you weren't able to do that as part of a group maybe your desk staff should see that when they look up our reservation on their iPad and it shouldn't take 2-3 phone calls the next morning to get it sorted out. Annoying and honestly a pretty poor lack of communication. Would I stay here again ?? No. It's fine as far as Hotel's go but for me falls below the expectations the Disney experience should offer. Clean and fun in places but VERY spread out and with some glaring issues.

Getting the extra hours at Disney and being able to stay property made the price well worth it. We had a room for a family of five. We had two queen beds. I wish there was microwave available but that's about the biggest downside. The kids enjoyed the playground and pool time on our down day. We took advantage of the extra hours! Also happy they held our bags while our room was being cleaned. Overall great experience!

We have been coming to shades of green since 1995. This stay is the WORST stay ever. The bus system…read moretakes so long you miss reservations. The staff has ZERO compaction about your needs. The rooms smell like mold and mildew as do the hall ways Outdated --how many time can they ask for your ID!?!? It's insulting! They treat military like they are CHILDREN here. Security staff are a joke The pools are rarely open and when they are they are over run. The small pool looks dirty because of the poor maintenance on the paint. The water feature out front smells so bad you can barely walk by it. NASTY! Change the water and clean it !! Overall cleanliness has declined massively!! The guy running it would be terminated IMMEDIATELY!!

There was not enough relaxation space chairs for all guests to have a solace to sit. Groups of women were talking and laughing loudly in the changing room which could be heard in the waiting area. Disappointing to pay so much for a mediocre experience- it felt overbooked and rushed and could not enjoy the pre/post allotment relaxation time. For the price, there are spas with better experiences at a similar price point in the area.
