I've only stayed here once around Christmas time & this hotel is absolutely huge and amazing !! You can literally get lost in here ! The decorations around the holiday times are soo pretty ! I felt the Christmas spirit for sure lol! I also love how they have these cute little restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques inside the hotel! They also have a few different pools, hot tubs... any and every amenity you can think of they have. It's definitely a hotel if you're looking for a relaxing time with friends or a significant other. If you are looking for a decent resort with restaurant options, pools, golfing, and other vacation amenities close to all things Universal Studios, Rosen Shingle Creek is a solid spot with a decent price point. It's located 20 minutes from Orlando International Airport and downtown (CBD), where there are some nice bar options, and 20 to 25 minutes from Disney if you are inclined to embrace Club Mouse. I was at Rosen Shingle Creek for a conference. For the night I was there, they have a solid convention center and collection of ballrooms to accommodate a variety of different personal and business events. They have a few restaurants comprising different cuisines ranging from steak and fine dining to burgers and wings, as well as sushi and Tex-Mex. They have a coffee bar for your morning joe or tea, with various baked goods. The room featured a comfortable king-sized bed, numerous power outlets for electronic devices, a sitting area, a double-door closet, and a bathroom with a separate room for the shower and toilet. Access to the rooms, at least our wing, came from the set of elevators by the Reception area. It was an easy location. Elevators were prompt and plentiful. I didn't access the more recreational amenities, such as the pool and fitness center, for example, but the property and surroundings are lovely. The convention center is easily accessible through the main lobby floor, past the restaurant hall. There are many ballrooms and meeting rooms for both business and celebratory events, such as conferences and weddings, including the one I attended. read more

I have stayed at this resort multiple times, and each experience was very enjoyable. The surroundings feature elevated Floridian style. Upon checking in most recently, we learned that some remodeling is taking place, including repaving the self-parking lot and room doors being replaced by a more natural wood variety, coordinating with the new style room keys. A shuttle shortened our trek from the farther lot, due to the paving. There's plentiful dining options. I've had brunch at the Café Osceola, splurged at A Land Remembered (definitely worth it), grabbed a quick bite at 18 Monroe Street Market, and ordered poolside from Cat-Tails. Mostly everything was rather tasty and satisfying. The staff has always been welcoming and thoroughly accommodating. If Heather is still a poolside server there, she's awesome! Hardworking and keeps you smiling. The rooms are comfy with nice decor. There's 3 pools (1 for laps, 1 for families & 1 with cabanas which is closest to the bar & grille). There's additional offerings for other recreation as well, but I'm never there for that. It's always a lovely place to attend an event, which is what usually brings me there. Stayed here for my husbands work trip. The good parts of the trip- amazing food, great pool and bartenders. The downside of the stay was pretty much the room. Our room was nothing special, which is okay for us, however the shower was dirty and didn't drain properly so you showered in a puddle of water, there was blood stains on the carpet between the bathroom and sink, and just stains around the mirror. The cleaning staff was hit or miss if they cleaned the room, and didn't restock our shampoos and conditioners even though they were empty. There was also renovation going on the floor above us, and all you could hear during the day was banging and drilling, which made taking work calls difficult. With that being said I did hear they are renovating top floors down, so maybe request a higher floor. read more

This is a beautiful property that I have enjoyed for a 5 day stay. Upon arriving to Orlando, I had to quickly pivot from my prearranged accommodations and booked Rosen Shingle Creek. The hotel is quite large with friendly staff. The rooms are nice and the common areas are beautifully decorated. I have eaten at three of the dining options, used the pool and hot tub multiple times, and I even spent a little time in the game room. I was pleased to find the array of dining options, though at times I was disappointed when a couple were unexpectedly closed. I really like the convenience of the 24 hour market that had some great food, snacks, and sundries. I will say that the parking charge is a bit steep for self parking and the distance you need to walk to get to it (due to the size of the property). However, I would absolutely recommend this hotel and I would absolutely stay here again. read more

I don't like all-inclusive resort settings, I don't care about big pools, I don't care about on-site restaurants, etc. However, if that is for you, this place is perfect. It's close to all the touristy Orlando stuff and the rooms are actually pretty affordable for all that you get. I highly recommend this location for any medium to larger conference, meeting, convention, or seminar. I was here for the National Rural Letter Carriers Association Annual meeting so I paid considerably less than the usual rates and you should consider this when weighing my review. But even at the regular rates, this luxury resort might be worth it, but I couldn't afford the regular rates. The conference discount probably works out for the hotel because they make money on guest meals, the food is expensive and if you're here for work you just have to eat on location. The meeting facilities are superb. They have enough room to run three large conferences and two medium sized ones while I was here with lots of space to spare. The audio visual and related tech is state of the art, the banquet food better than most hotel banquets. The only bottlenecks when there are a lot of conferences going on is that when the big conferences break the elevator banks and restaurants get overwhelmed. There's only one coffee place and that might be the very worst thing about the conference. The rooms have Kuerigs, which as most of you know is terrible coffee so the next time I'm here I'm bringing a small hot water heater, a French coffee press, and my own good coffee. And a thermos to take coffee to the conference rooms which are a long walk from the hotel rooms, this resort is vast. The resort isn't served well by public transportation, but actually the entire Orlando area isn't served well by public transportation, you'll have to Uber or Lyft in and out. Daily valet parking charges are an arm and a bloody leg. The grounds are expansive, it takes maybe 10 minutes on the most direct route walking from the lobby to the front gate, but across from the gate is a Publix supermarket, a good take out Chinese restaurant, a bad chain pizza place, a Chipotle where you probably won't get food poisoning, a Subway. On a map it looks easy, but in Florida August weather there's either a brutal tropical sun beating down on you or a tropical storm in the afternoon. Service is quite good, from check in to housekeeping, but the various restaurants are overpriced with mostly mediocre food choices. Room service is about the same price as the restaurants and the clam chowder is pretty good. There's a fee to use the exercise room, your best deal is the fee that covers your entire stay rather than the daily rate. There's a lap pool in addition to two recreational swimming pools, but they all get too hot for comfort in Florida August. The golf course is splendid. If you're a reader, and there are plenty of comfortable places to sit and read inside and out on the grounds, you need to bring books or a Kindle, there's no bookstore (good or bad, used or new) anywhere near and unlike the other Rosen properties there isn't a lending library. I guess hardly anyone reads anymore, when I asked the otherwise very knowledgeable and helpful concierge desk, they couldn't get the concept of a hotel having books to borrow or newspapers. I guess I'm a mastodon in a world of elephants. One of the nice touches is a big roomy cage full of finches in the central lobby. read more

You can work or sit and talk. There are so many banquet rooms for a convention. The property has a golf course. Everyone here is very nice and helpful from the moment you drive to the gate. The rooms are nice. We had a double queen room. It's spacious. The beds are comfortable. Plenty of room in the bathroom/dressing area. Every employee ask if you need help with anything. Rosen Shingle Creek Resort Review Where do I begin? Actually, let's start here. Before writing this review I read a lot of the 1 and 2 star reviews. They are not the usual professional complainers. Turns out... ...they were documenting evidence. Night 1: Construction outside the room all day and into Saturday evening. Nothing says "luxury resort" quite like falling asleep to the soothing sounds of commercial-grade power tools. My biggest criticism isn't even the construction. Tell people upfront; adjust ALL prices accordingly especially if you're turning the water off 1/2 the day! The hotel should prominently disclose on its website that it is undergoing major renovations. Don't wait until guests have checked in to discover they're staying inside what is essentially a Marriott sponsored episode of This Old House. If you're charging luxury resort prices, either disclose the construction or adjust the rates. Morning 2: My complimentary 9:00 AM wake-up call arrived courtesy of construction directly overhead. Apparently impact drills are included in the resort fee. I asked to move rooms. To their credit, the front desk made it happen after a brief debate over whether the renovations had been disclosed. (Spoiler: they hadn't.) The new room... ...was quieter only in theory. Let's be honest. This property is under major renovation. You may not always see it, but you'll definitely hear it. Then came the room discoveries. The shower door scraped across the floor couldn't really open or close it without being concerned it would break the glass door. The bathroom GFCI outlet wouldn't reset. The smoke detector had a yellow plastic bag covering it. Now, I'm no fire protection engineer, but I was a firefighter. I'm reasonably confident smoke detectors perform best when they're allowed to detect smoke. So we're off to a strong start: two life safety issues and a shower door that appeared to have a personal grudge against the tile. Then I trusted the room safe with my wallet. Good news: your wallet will absolutely be safe. Bad news: so safe even you can't get to it. The safe immediately died and locked everything inside. Engineering showed up, replaced the safe motor, fixed the shower door, repaired the outlet, and liberated the smoke detector from its plastic prison. Those guys deserve raises. At this point they're less "engineering" and more an elite hotel trauma team. The adventure only cost me a little over an hour of vacation. Which worked out perfectly because that morning we also received notice the water would be shut off "intermittently" between 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM. I'm not sure whoever wrote that notice understands the word intermittent. Four consecutive hours without water isn't intermittent. That's just... off. And you can't flush a toilet either. So this is bordering maybe surpassed ridiculous for a high priced resort. I called Guest Services. The representative was genuinely wonderful and possessed the rare talent of saying, "I'm terribly sorry, but absolutely nothing is going to change," in such a pleasant way that you almost thanked her. She offered to transfer me to the manager. Shockingly... ...the manager wasn't accepting calls. Honestly, I can't even blame them. If I were managing this week, I'd probably be hiding behind the luggage carts too. Now let's talk pricing. $6 candy bars. $23 sandwiches. $30 breakfast buffet - the food is slightly above Deny's quality. Prices that somehow make Disney and NFL stadium concessions seem refreshingly reasonable. And because it's over a third of a mile just to escape the parking lot, you're basically a captive audience. My advice? Open DoorDash before you unpack. To be fair, not everything deserves criticism. The gym is outstanding. Laundry prices are surprisingly reasonable. (Management, if you're reading this, please ignore that sentence.) The food is actually very good... assuming you've emotionally detached yourself from the receipt. Most importantly, every employee I encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely trying to help. This doesn't feel like a staff problem. It feels like good people doing the best they can with decisions they didn't make. Executive Summary Room quality: Motel 6 wearing a tuxedo. Engineering: Deserves a raise. Staff: Five stars. Management: Harder to find than Bigfoot. Construction: Complimentary. Pricing: NFL playoff beer line. Cost: About $1,700 for four nights. Would I stay here again? I am here for a conference and this resort has exceeded my expectations. First, beautiful property, clean, peaceful, excellent gym & spa, nature trail for a morning walk was lovely. What took me over the top was food! Yes, the food at this conference was delicious- chicken the first day was not dry, perfectly cooked with delicious spices and vegetables. They grown their own vegetables on the property. The fish was also perfectly cooked. Next day we had a mexican Spanish lunch the shredded beef was outstanding- tender and loved the flavors. Everyone at this conference has been raving about the food. Probably the first time I have ever attended a conference in 30 yrs that has great food. The staff has been outstanding, kind, helpful, going out of their way to ensure you enjoy your experience on the property. Unaccommodating staff for every request. 1) When I arrived, I asked for a luggage cart. After the receptionist made a call, I was told the bell stand was busy. I was told that I could ask for help from valet. This would mean going back outside with my luggage in a busy lobby. Very soon, a luggage cart return to reception as I walked to the elevator, close to reception. 2) In the room there was a QR code for dining. There is an option for pickup, which does not say the exact location of the pickup. I was told that I had to walk outside the hotel to find the pickup. It led to a restaurant which was not the pickup. An employee told me I had to go past the restaurant, down the stairs, and to a small hut which was the pickup location. When I went through the restaurant, an employee stopped me but did not know the location. After waiting for around five minutes, another employee came and told me the same instructions I originally was given. 3) I had also asked for the microwave location. It was located in an area far from guest rooms. They called me back telling me that microwaves were only available for medical reasons so it could not be given to me. Parking is also impractical. 1) There was an issue with the self parking where the monitor was not responding. The help button did not lead to support. This happened later in the day as well and the only way to address it even after pressing the support button was to make a call to valet. 2) There are few ways to return to your car. You can only enter through small gateways as you navigate a very large parking area. A hotel van had even approached me asking if it could take me to the hotel (it is a very long walk) but could not because it didn't have access to the side gate which seemed designated to authorized vehicles. read more

Everything went well at Rosen Shingle Creek. This hotel is spectacular and the service is phenomenal. The hotel itself is spacious and beautiful. There are several restaurants in there, Headwaters is bomb. We were there during hurricane Milton with our daughter that works in the hotel, and we could not have been in a better place. Our three grandkids didn't even know what was happening outside. I have to say thank you to Mr Rosen for being so hospitable during that time. They even created a special menu for us and we were able to purchase our meals, for basically Pennie's. Because there were so many families with dogs, an area was created for all of the fur kiddos where they were able to release themselves in a nice grassy little area. It was pretty cool. We were treated, almost like royalty, and we were in a safe place. Having experienced the fantastic service and treatment from all employees I came in contact with in the hotel, makes me want to come back, but next time, just for pleasure. Well I have to say that I am really impressed with the Rosen Shingle Creek and all the staff that work here. We had a wonderful stay at the hotel and truthfully it was excellent and most importantly very affordable. Yep, I said it affordable. I also want to say that affordable does not mean cheap, it means high value for your dollar. The property is wonderful and you have all the amenities of any of the other Disney resorts as well including a golf course. The pool area is also excellent as well. This is high season and we paid about $300 for a two night stay plus taxes; also, they allowed us to bring our dog. Now we paid a pet cleaning fee of $150 which was less than boarding our dog and we had him with us which was great. By the way, the $150 I pet cleaning fee covers you for a week stay and kicks in again after the first seven days if you are staying for longer. I also really liked that the Rosen family is a local family that has been in the area for over 50+ years. Mr Rosen is known as a philanthropic leader in the Orlando area; also, really takes care of his employees providing them with great healthcare coverage and making sure they all know they are valued. They expect all their staff to treat all their customers well and if it does not happen for some reason, they will make it right. Mentioning this as I always like to support local businesses wherever I go and although this is technically a resort empire, it is still a small business when compared to the other hotel titans (Hilton, Marriott, etc.) that have similar resorts in the area. I will definitely be staying here again in the future. Feel free to heck them out and I am sure you will I'll have a good time as well. The restaurants are top notch and, again, amazingly customer service focused! For breakfast, each morning, we ate at the hotel's buffet and I am going to give a special shout out to 4 people: Soloman, Rafie, Adolfo, and the Food & Beverage Manager, Aziza Oumansour. Without a doubt it is because of Aziza that the rest of her staff are so amazing. Resort is accustomed to last minute changes in weather requiring indoor relocations of events easily and without fuss. ADA compliant facilities with ample elevators and some escalators between sections. Vision impaired guests may need a bit more time to get accustomed to the huge venue with is convention center sized, not including the pools, gold courses, nature walks and shopping shuttles. Location is at least 3/4 mile off of I-Drive which is barely walkable to access the adjoining shopping center, weather permitting. Our setup requires 12+ training room layouts which was easily accommodated in this flexible layout. read more

Came here during a conference and want to come back for sure! Not only is it in close proximity to the theme parks, the staff are incredibly detail oriented and friendly. The room service pizza was huge for $34 and the facilities are clean and huge. Plus they have a finch family living within the hotel, which is super cute! read more

Food! I can't believe how good the food was here. French onion soup was exceptional. Chicken wings tasted like they were off a BBQ GRILL. Grouper san good too. Bartender was excellent. read more

Our visit did not start well. However, the bar tender in the Burger restaurant, Solomon and Ron at Osceola, Christine in the spa and Brett Warren the hotel manager made our stay wonderful. Celeste and James need customer service training as do the staff in The Marketplace. Our room was clean and inviting, for having 3,000 people on property this weekend the grounds and halls were always clean. Price for parking is steep. We will return next year and look up our favorites when we get there. read more

Rosen Shingle Creek seems a bit outdated compared to many of the other hotels we have stayed at in Orlando. But don't get me wrong, it's still a beautiful hotel because it's a Rosen hotel. It's a massive hotel that is pretty spread out and beautifully decorated during the holidays. We stayed here for my husband's holiday party weekend. They hosted a few work meetings, and did a fabulous job on the holiday party! We had a wonderful time and the food was great. The weather was gorgeous and we had moved around to several spaces throughout the night for the party. I feel like you can really get lost in this hotel because it's so big! The staff couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. They did a great job with our room and the service was wonderful. The hotel is located close to SeaWorld Orlando by 528 and Universal Blvd. Great location that's close to everything. read more

Several months ago I drove from the Southern part of the state for a conference. At check-in I was told by the Front Desk they had been expecting me yesterday (closer to start of the conference?) but I insisted I was supposed to arrive the instant day. The desk fixed it (any date Mix-up) with no penalty to me ... was my understanding. I announced I was staying 2 nights and all seemed well. (Lest I forget, when I finished this excursion I saw my handwritten note from when I booked the reservation and my recollection/understanding at check-in of the dates I reserved was correct). Guess I should have looked at their confirmation email so I could have caught the date error beforehand. Live and learn. I learned it is important to pay close attention to that .... Oh, parking my vehicle was nightmarish. Seems it took an entire hour to self-park after driving all the way to Orlando. Based on that initial nightmarish parking experience I decided I'd remedy that by switching to Valet the rest of the trip. Ironically, looking at tv I checked my personal meeting schedule for the next day and noticed the main meeting I was there for would not be going forward, therefore, I really had no need to travel to Orlando after all. That was a downer but I decided to persevere. I even thumbed through the in-room hotel brochure and saw there was a Spa on hotel first floor with Spa services. The booklet/menu mentioned a 20%, if I am correct, or some other fixed percentage of Gratuity, dependent on the cost of the particular service booked. I decided I would schedule one of those so I did so. The next day I made sure I had a spa appointment and was able to move my vehicle to Valet. But, at first attempt to leave the car with Valet my car- with me in it- went ignored by the various car Parker's (Valet attendants) for, well, a full hour which also included many "trips" in a circle before I could get anyone willing to park my vehicle. The prices at the hotel seemed high at the time of the stay- January- with my room at $215 and, from a review of my charges on checkout receipt afterwards, I note Valet billed me $45 for less than stellar service of repeated long waits to get anyone to park it (vehicle). One time during this stay I telephoned Valet to ask directions to Costco so I could buy gas. The female on other end of telephone spoke rudely and answered me in the form of a question "can't you use your GPS?" At that point, I was struck by the fact that she-this same rude voice- had also spoken to me rudely the year before at this Rosen property. I took the car off property and had a relatively easy time getting the car pulled around, as I recall, at lunchtime, but afterwards it took about a full hour, again, to get anyone to park it (vehicle) and I think this was the occasion of my own distress I witnessed Valet attendant service at least one car that arrived AFTER mine. That is to say, other customer was taken out of turn and ahead of me to my chagrin. Horrific experience. One interesting (and good) thing I learned at hotel's upscale Italian restaurant in hotel lobby is that the hotel grows its own herbs near the pool fence. I also learned that the Cacio e Pepe pasta dish was not to my liking because it was too overwhelming with the taste of Black Pepper. I would not recommend that dish should anyone dine here. Speaking of that dish, a female traveler approached gazing at my plate of food before sitting down on the stool next to me and correctly guessed what I was eating. But her friendliness turned to anger, the moment I asked whether it was her first time at the hotel. It was only my second time at this hotel. Having been insulted by my query, she jumped in her stool turning her full back to me. Around this time I was at wit's end as to why this trip seemed so bad. Only my second time to this hotel, as mentioned previously. At the spa massage room a female masseuse asked me whether I'd been told of "the Monthly Special." Answering in the negative she explained if I did it I'd get "more for less." I had already booked at a certain regular price. But the "more" would include a foot massage (bonus). I said ok to the monthly special. It could very well have been lower priced but I eventually realized this change was done at a higher gratuity % for that employee's "personal gain." After taking this issue up at the hotel Front Desk, it argued I did receive a foot massage so I have nothing to complain about. Still, providing a foot massage doesn't justify a higher gratuity rate not instructed by cardholder (me). As a matter-of-fact, the lower the service price the lower should be the gratuity. Foot massage lended credibility to a so-called special I surmise. Their way employee carrying out massage stood to receive a higher gratuity. Upsetting to say the least! read more

Wow! exceeded expectations for sure on my week-long stay WIFI - I would say it's a bit odd that the conference floor and hotel have different wifi. This caused some confusion when transitioning from the hotel to the conference floor. SPA - They have something called the purple pass where you can pay $40 for your whole stay to access the men's or women's side of the SPA which includes a whirlpool hot tub, wet and dry sauna and rainfall showers. This made my stay so much better because I was able to get some quiet time to myself outside of the conference I was attending. It's $20/day otherwise. This also includes the gym. They have another gym only pass available as well. You pay for this in the SPA itself. ROOM and Grounds - I don't think I ended up walking the entire grounds since it is such a big hotel. This place is huge so I would recomend asking for a room close to the elevator or on the 3rd floor or you will spend a lot of time walking to your room. I like that they have a lobby area for busses to take you to Universal and they even have a counter that helps with Universal tickets. They have a fishing area or an area where you can keep a look out for alligators. I heard you could see a bunch of them on the golf course as well. I went to the outdoor pools almost nightly. They had a few hot tubs and outside bar. It was fantastic. 18 Monroe street MARKET- I think I spent the most time in this market on the lower level because they had delicious salads, drinks and ice cream so it was a quick stop that you could easily charge to the room. LAUNDRY - I washed a few loads on the Lower Level. Be sure to have quarters to use for the machines. $3.75 for wash and $1.75 for dry. They have soap in the Market. read more
