It is important to know which businesses are really great because it's small or which ones are NOT because it's small. Tarr is one if the great ones. Most importantly they know what they are doing. I had trouble with my vision for years and could t get things right with my glasses and contacts. I have been to 5 different placed for it in 10 years. Dr. Tarr solved my problems- and now my glasses and contacts are very comfortable. The staff gets increasingly better each time I go. They work hard I improve customer service. They are very good with understanding insurance and both the doctor and staff will be dedicated to customer satisfaction. I am particular and they are very patient with me.

Here, they provide an option of having a photo taken of eyes instead of dilation (at an extra cost). This was a welcomed alternative and saved us all a lot of time and tears, too. As someone who has never worn glasses, Dr. Best explained to me what she was doing and why, and answered any questions I had without a lot of medical jargon that would make me scratch my head in confusion. After the eye photos, she even had my son come over to look at the pics and ask her questions. He thought that was super cool. He (shockingly) told me as we left, "That was pretty fun, Mommy!" Whatttt?! We were seen very quickly and the appointment only lasted about 30 minutes, including picking out and purchasing new frames. Speaking of, there was a pretty big selection of youth frames, which was refreshing. They were all fairly affordable (most under $150) and ended up being fully covered by our insurance. Thrilled to have found this office, with high-tech exams, and highly empathetic staff.

The office is clean and not at all hurried or exposed to the surrounding Wal Mart store, so don't worry about that. It even has a separate entrance - you don't need to go in the store. All of the pre-visit patient paperwork can be filled out online ahead of your appointment which saved a ton of time. With doing that, my time in the building was exactly 29 minutes. I got right into my appointment, had a very thorough exam with discussion about issues I was having, and payment time included. A follow up visit is included in the exam fee as Dr. Schwartz prefers to give you sample contacts and have you report back in a week , then he will issue an Rx. I'm pleased with my choice and would recommend Dr. Schwartz to anyone. Oh! You can also schedule online!

But....all that is irrelevant when you look at the purpose of the visit. Had an appointment with Dr M. After 45 mins in the waiting room, a Tech engaged and he covered the routine measurements, and then moved me in the exam room. Here he collected the additional routine, background info (5 more mins). And then I waited...for another 20 mins with no dr to show for. About 70 mins past my appointment time I walked out to the front desk and asked to pay what I owed, and to cancel the appointment. Dr. M came to the front escorting another patient. Front desk girls explained to her why I was in the front , and without any other explanation, or any other glance towards me, told them that I don't owe them any payment. And Dr M walked away in the back again without a second look. I would have much rather pay for a much needed appointment than wasting 70 mins waiting for a doctor. I was looking forward to this appointment after seeing all the 5* reviews. But now I saw that most of them are older than 2 years; maybe this office started focusing more on the business and lost track of caring for the patients.

I had an accident and my glasses fell into pieces. I desperately needed a thorough examination. I also had great difficulty seeing without my glasses. This office worked me in immediately. In addition to a thorough exam they did something above and beyond all what might be expected. They took my lenses, and fit them into frames to use immediately to until my new glasses arrived. This helped greatly with my quality of life, even though my old lenses are greatly scratched from the accident I can now see and read. I highly recommend Dr. Rhyne and his skilled team.

Be warned: Dr. Rhyne doesn't listen to his patients when they complain of an issue with their…read moreprescription. If Dr Rhyne thinks you have the right prescription, there is *nothing* you can say to convince him otherwise. If he thinks you need Prism lenses and you don't like them, be prepared to argue with him over it for 15+ minutes to get him to begrudgingly update the prescription. And if you're still not happy after the change? You can forget about getting your money back. They will not update or recheck the prescription if they think it is correct, no matter how much you protest. BONUS: After I called to work out an issue, I was eventually told that they cannot help me and to go somewhere else and hung up. I did not get a response back to further calls. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR.
