I'm currently on a "doctor-inspired" diet (aka I had some dental work done yesterday), so no burgers, no corn on the cob, no tearing into anything that fights back. If it's not bite-sized, it's not happening. So I played it smart and went with the trusty burrito bowl--this time with steak. And let me tell you, that was the right call. That steak? Tender, fresh, and seasoned exactly how it should be. No surprises there... Taco Mama doesn't really miss. Now every few bites, you catch one of those jalapeños sneaking in, and it hits your taste buds with just the right little Southern kick. Keeps things interesting. Then you get that perfect bite where the queso decides to make an appearance--next thing you know it's dripping down your chin like you forgot you were in public. No shame. Atmosphere still holds up too. Strip mall location, but they've got those big garage doors rolled up so it feels halfway outside, halfway inside. We decided to try out a margarita while we looked over the menu and wait for our food. Those margaritas were absolutely delicious! We both ordered the Burrito Relleno, one beef, one chicken with rice and beans and the nachos with shredded chicken. The food was good and very filling. The restaurant is nice and festive and service at the bar was good. We will definitely check them out again when in the area.

The queso flowed like unto a river of mercy, rich and warm, and when I dipped the chips therein, it coated mine tongue with comfort. The margarita was cold and strong, refreshing the spirit as dew refresheth the morning grass. All things were made fresh, even as the scripture of their kitchen declareth. Yet as I ate, the old wound opened. In the year of our Lord two thousand and seven, upon spaghetti night, mine father took his gym bag and spake, "I can do this no more," and departed, leaving a child of nine winters clutching a scratched Batman figure at a cold table.
