Definitely it's more focused on furry friends (cats and dogs) than any other pet type, but that's to be expected (me as a reptile owner, a persecuted population). But that doesn't mean that this shop doesn't have a little bit of items for exotics owners. There seemed to be a deal where if you fill up a Petco bucket with supplies for exotics, you get a discount. Not much, but there is something there. There's also a small tank with some aquatic snails which were cool to look at. But yeah, most of the shop is for cat and dog stuff, and some merchandise for pet owners too. There's leashes, costumes, cleaning, grooming, and many other supplies, lots of food and treats of all ingredients, textures, and styles, and they even had a refill station to scoop your own litter. Pretty interesting. We got to see a cute tuxedo cat named Popo who was up for adoption and they have a wall with the dates and times for more extensive adoption events. I thought the little dog shaped machine to make ID tags was pretty cute and they had a wall with scoop your own baggie of treats and clearance items. I've been here a few times at the pet clinic. This last time we went one of the vet tech put the leash around my dog and put it too tight. He was choking. We had a hard time trying to take it off. she made it seem like he was gonna be fine, but you could see that he was clearly struggling. That text need to learn how to pay attention on how they're putting in the leashes on these dogs God for bed I wouldn't have looked and noticed him choking. It could've gone wrong. First I wanted to say that the 4-5 other workers that helped us were extremely nice, informative, and welcoming! One worker Gabrielle actually got to know our dog and gave him treats which I thought was so nice and made our experience great! She also talked about how her dog looked similar. The veterinarian Dr. Dawn Zimmerman on the other hand was blatantly rude to both my bf and I. I understand that most people have plans after work for the long Labor Day weekend. But that shouldn't be an excuse to be rude. My bf and I have been managers for the past 8 years so we get having to work on holiday weekends but it's possible to mask not wanting to be at work lol Although we were the last vaccine appointment, we showed up 15 min early. We waited about 30 min due to another customer which we overheard that they received the wrong vaccine and needed a refund. We did not complain or make anyone feel as if waiting was an issue. When it was our turn, the veterinarian Zimmerman looked at us annoyed and said, "Did you pay yet? We closed 5 min ago." We walked to pay a bit embarrassed that we didn't realize we had to do that first/ forgot that maybe that was instructed to us and I said back, "Hm it's weird that we're able to get an appointment so close to closing." Please be professional and learn to have patience. The vet made us feel like we were being an inconvenience. The vet assistant Damion luckily was very pleasant and thorough. While Zimmerman continued to give us death stares with nothing to say after her work. Damion informed us of any side effects to look out for. In reality, we as customers did everything that was asked of us. Filled out the intake form prior to coming in, showed up early, and waited patiently with no complaint. I suggest not scheduling that veterinarian so close to closing time. She obviously has more important places to be and doesn't find importance in providing a welcoming and comfortable environment to her clients. The rest of the staff present today were all very pleasant and interacted with my dog. I appreciate that so much. Otherwise I would've said something myself to that vet. At the end of our visit Zimmerman was actually racing past us at front of the store after we finished the visit and bought a toy. She continued to give us rude stares on her way out while we were both walking to our cars. I truly hope she has a better day and she's okay. I don't understand that behavior. read more

This Petco bummed me out I admit I am not knowledgeable about the vital rewards and I went here to pick up dog food and cat food. I had a free bag on my vital rewards which they never mentioned anything to me at the register so I spent $192 no rewards applied, the thing that I find funny is when I visited any Petco The employee at the registered always offered me to sign up for the vital rewards. I'm not normally one to leave reviews, but we took our cat (Cowboy) to their pop up clinic for vaccinations this morning and are VERY disappointed by the service and professionalism shown by the vet techs. Cowboy is 8 months old, curious, calm, and easy going cat. The first tech we saw this morning who checked us in was very helpful and kind, allowing us to weigh our cat and she complimented his curious behavior. Nothing wrong at all at this point. We paid for the vaccines/micro chip and took Cowboy to the table to be seen. He was dumped out of his carrier by the assistant vet, and dragged into place by his harness. There was no kindness or care shown to our pet. When he got upset in response, they immediately covered him in towels and held him down to the table. the whole thing happened so fast, we didn't even have time to react or respond to their harsh and careless treatment. I understand the concern for the vet techs health and well being, but what could be expected of Cowboy when he was dumped out and dragged around? I'm quite impressed as the process was smooth and they run a well-organized schedule and smooth operations. The information provided to us was informative but it was given to us too fast and I can't recall much the instruction. I have east access to medical records for both puppies. The price is fairly reasonable but for two, it adds up but you got to do to protect your puppies. We love ours as they are our family. read more

There are cats, but not really any other live animals to speak of at this location, so we don't look for any new family members; I think they banned the sale of animals state-wide. At the beginning of the year, I switched dog foods and my two Shih Tzus were not taking it very well. (throwing up and having the runs). So I researched online on what to do if your dog has an upset stomach. Frozen yogurt! Luckily this Petco Unleashed sells yoghund, which is real frozen yogurt made specifically for dogs. I got them the Apple & Cheddar flavor. Both of them LOVED it and the probiotics helped them with their bathroom issue. (THANK GOODNESS!) We came here on Sunday Aug 21st to buy puppy food (my newest puppy was on Science Diet). We were hesitant to switch her puppy food right away since she was already used to it. However, one of the associates really tried to sway us to more natural foods. Short Lesson: I'll read the 5 first ingredients of each brand of dog food: PURINA BENEFUL = 1) Ground yellow corn 2) chicken by-product meal 3) corn gluten meal 4) whole wheat flour 5) animal fat preserved with mixed-tocopherols (a lot of fillers, eh?) THE BLUE BUFFALO CO. WILDERNESS = 1) Deboned duck 2) chicken meal 3) potato starch 4) turkey meal 5) peas NATURAL CHOICE for Small Breed Puppy = 1) Chicken 2) chicken meal 3) whole brown rice 4) pea protein 5) ground rice So when I got home I mixed Science Diet & Natural Choice together for my puppy and guess what!? She only picked out the Natural Choice food and left the Science Diet... Does that tell you something?! Also my adult Shih-tzus seem to like their new "BLUE" Wilderness food better as well. They'll actually eat it dry and go crazy when they see me reaching for the bag. I have to thank the associates for taking the time to go over the many brands of food they carry so I could make the best decision for my dogs. We were helped by 2 employees who were obviously dog owners themselves and even showed us photos of their dogs as well as shared stories. Do not go to this store! I had signed my dog up for training and day of was denied that same training. While I was upset about that, that is not my main issue. On the first day of training I was unable to go due to work. I had my friend go with my dog and then call me saying the denied the training. This is where my issue starts. They had decided to refund $300 to his card without the receipt, proof or purchase, or call to me to verify it was okay to give my money to someone else. I called the store 2 days later to talk about this and the store assistant manager told me that this is there policy, and they have no access to see who paid. I told her that this seemed like a strange policy and again you gave a lot of my money to someone who is not me, so what if they decide to keep it. Then I'm out $300. She stated she understood and that it was something they would bring up to corporate, but that they were just following the policy. This didn't seem believable to me and I called another petco to verify this "policy" the other petco verified that this was in fact not the policy and that they lied. She did advise me to call the store manager. In the end I did not call the store manager because I do not trust anyone at this store. They just lie to cover their mistakes and that makes the whole situation worse. Most unprofessional place I have ever been to. read more

I frequent this store when I happen to be in the area (usually with my dog, who also likes to run in as soon as the sliding door opens!). It is located almost next door to Trader Joe's, where the music store used to be. I'm always greeted upon entering. They normally like to ask if my dog would like a treat. If my dog could eat them, he'd bank on all the times they have offered. Unfortunately, my dog is on a prescription diet, so he only eats what I've managed to test. They don't carry prescription dog food, otherwise I would buy it here out of convenience. They are pretty good at handing you $5 off your $20 purchase coupons, I have quite a few that I have not used. If you are in the area, so by to check this store out. This is a mini version of Petco that caters to dogs and cats. This is great since it just a few doors down from Trader Joe's and you can get in and out fairly quickly. The associates were very friendly and the store was super easy to navigate when you don't have to go through aisles for fish, gerbils and other things. read more

My fiancee and I came here as we were in search for kitty food that the other Petco near us ran out of. It's a beautiful store with a wonderful selection of goodies for kitties and puppies. They do have a small selection of supplies for bunnies, gerbils, birds, and fish. The main focus of this particular store is on cats and dogs, which is great for me as the mother of three beautiful felines. Along with purchasing food, we bought a new fountain for the furballs and picked up some bedding for our bun buns so I was happy they had the basics for rabbits. I am now happy to say that we now go to two pet stores instead of three as we changed kitty litter brands AND, since this one in next to Kohls, I will be probably be stopping by here more often as I can go shopping for me afterwards! read more

There were two employees there who helped me get all the materials I needed, gave me tips on being a new dog owner, and sent me off with well-wishes. My puppy Oliver and I love this place. We always come in to look around and always come out with something fun for him. Everyone here always says hi to him and makes us feel like 'family'. It's a small store but their products are always so adorable. We have gotten bow ties, leash, harness, collar, handkerchiefs, sweater, raincoat, and so many countless bully bones that he helps himself to at the front counter. Unleashed is a nice little mini Petco style store that is convenient, especially since there are /was no other Petco or Petsmart near by (with the exception of the new Petsmart that is about to open, across the street). The store is clean and well stocked. They also have pet photos you can take here and there is also the vetco clinic you can take your pets. Vetco clinic is great because the prices are generally cheaper than going to a vet. But the reason why the 3 stars was because the prices here are generally kind of high. I think I would probably shop at the Petsmart across the street when it opens because it would be cheaper to buy my little dog his food. read more

I just had the worst experience at this store and I'm so upset. Normally this store is so great. I was about to buy over $100 of dog food my normal monthly run. The app was not working and I always have issues with this app. I asked the cashier to apply my rewards to my order and she said she had to call and wait for customer service. Meantime she can see my account and my rewards but wouldn't apply it to my order. I'm standing right there in front of her waiting and we have to wait for customer service to Answer the phone!! We'll it's now been at least 15 minutes and I can't wait any longer so I had to walk out without my purchase. I was so upset I refuse to give them my money after such horrible service. What happened to this store and their great service???? Why is the app so horrible and why can't you empower your cashiers to override so they can complete the purchase in the store. Best experience I've had at a pet store and really any customer service based store. I started looking for vaccination programs that were reasonably priced and didnt include an exam fee since Petsmart charges for everything even an exam fee for just routine vaccinations. I made an appointment for my cat and it was easy. The vet and her assistant were so good with my cat. It was super quick and I had mentioned that I had another appointment to get her nails cut since Unleashed doesnt do that and the vet said that she had clippers and didnt want to distress my cat with another appointment somewhere else. Not only that, she showed me how to cut her nails which I have asked Petsmart to do a hundred times but they always have a reason why you cant watch. Will definitely be using Unleashed Vetco services and also regular vet options too. Also, the young woman helping me look for some cat treats and nail clippers after was so sweet and helpful. The whole experience with Vetco and Petco was wonderful, quick and easy. Highly recommend and less expensive than a lot of places including Petsmart. read more

I have been dealing with some possible allergies for my little guy. After several medications and even switching to a soy based food through my vet, I stopped in at unleashed and spoke with Natalie about my drama. She helped me select a food for my guys to transition to, in hopes of transitioning him to a fish based diet down the road. She's super friendly and knowledgeable. Recently I received an email coupon for $30 off a $100 purchase, but it had to be online. Ok, no problem, I figured I would order online and pick up in store. However after almost a dozen tries I still couldn't place my order because every time I went to check out the page would error and empty my cart. So I stopped in unleashes and Natalie let me make all my purchases, price matched what the prices were on line, and then honored the $30 off. I am not sure about the difference between this and a regular petco... but they had a couple of animals for adoption and a bunch of supplies (food scratching posts toys etc) in a nice regular sterile environment. Upon entry there wasnt a greeting or any interaction when the munchkin and I came in to look at their cats available for adoption. We both thought it was a lil odd as normally that kind of thing is the standard for this type of place. Or so I had thought. However it was very odd that we were there and looking around for someone to help while at the adopt an animal stand and no one acknowledged us or paid us any heed... consequently we turned and left and decided not to adopt somewhere that we were ignored at.
