When I picked up my dog Teddy after his grooming, I learned that the tip of his left ear had been accidentally cut during the grooming. There was enough bleeding that gauze/hemostatic material had to be applied to the wound. The staff acknowledged the accident and did not charge me for the grooming, which I appreciated. However, what disappointed me most was that the person who actually groomed Teddy did not come out to speak with me, explain what happened, or personally apologize. I understand that accidents can happen when grooming a dog. But when an animal is injured while in someone's care, I believe the groomer should personally speak with the owner, explain exactly what happened and what was done for the injury, and show genuine concern for the dog's well-being. Making the grooming complimentary was appropriate, but for me it did not make up for the lack of direct communication and accountability from the person who groomed Teddy. Unfortunately, for a first visit, this left me feeling very uncomfortable about returning. My main concern now is simply making sure Teddy's ear heals properly.

I don't particularly like the fresh cut look because it looks too "clean" but he looks absolutely perfect in like 2 weeks when his shag comes back! I can tell how much she loves her job by the way she speaks to him. I've gone to many many many groomers in my 20 years of dog ownership and I am loyal to Bluemoon! She is really flexible with appointments and I usually call a week in advance to get an appointment and she always has availabilities based on my schedule. I drop him off, remind her what I want, and pick him up when she calls/texts me in about 3 hours! It's in a shared lot with other businesses like a laundromat and more but I've never had issues finding parking.

I then noticed a sign stating they only accept cash or Zelle. Since my Zelle isn't working at the moment, I asked to confirm if they accepted Apple Pay or tap pay, as I had been told earlier. She looked at the sign and responded, "No, only cash or Zelle," in a very rude tone. I tried to explain that I had previously been told otherwise, but she cut me off mid-sentence and said, "NO WE DON'T, ONLY ZELLE OR CASH." I understand that payment limitations aren't necessarily their fault, but my issue is mainly with the attitude I experienced. When I asked if I could reschedule instead, she sighed, opened the book, and said, "Day and time?" She seemed annoyed and clearly didn't even want to serve or talk to me by her demeanor. At that point, I decided not to move forward and told her I didn't appreciate her attitude. As I was walking out, I could hear her slam something down in frustration. I've been here before when they were located near the trail and had a better experience, but unfortunately, this visit was disappointing due to the lack of customer service. Never coming back here again.

And there was no question we would enroll our second daughter at BOD, who is now almost one, and we started her at 3 months! We have gotten to know all of the teachers throughout the years and each one of them truly cares about what they do to ensure every single child is properly cared for. My younger daughter had feeding/OT issues around the time she started at BOD, and the staff helped accommodate OT exercises and feeding practices to help her overcome her issues while away from home. BOD treats their students as if they are their own children, and my daughters have absolutely loved attending this daycare. THANK YOU BOD!!!

As a former student my experience at WCGA was HORRIBLE!!!! 1)Total waste of time and money!!! 2) Extremely poor teaching abilities! 3) Online course is missing or unclear with class room instructions. 4) Poor time management. 5) Chris rarely teaches the classes, he depends on intern students. that barely have a handle on things to teach or uses Jessica who is NOT a dog groomer who just recently started to learn. 6) The Students are not there to learn they are being used as free labor. 7) Chris practices DOMINATION on the dogs while preaching to all the pet parents they are being handled gingerly. The dogs scream and growl very loud to the point of pooping and peeing everywhere. 8) The Class is composed of many nationalities with most students requiring a bit more attention, explanation or translation. If any one ask's the same question a couple of times Chris gets frustrated and sets them aside and is very dismissive of them specially women. 9) Theres a lot of inappropriate conversations or innuendos. 10) When students buy their tools Chris removes from what has been ordered as part of the kit: various small shampoo samples and lubricants for the clippers, which he uses as class tools and in reality they have been purchased by the students. read more

Chris Jackson changed my life. At 48 I found myself wanting a lot more out of a career. I had worked for 10 years in the non-profit field and then 8 years for Trader Joe's. Both left me unfulfilled and extremely frustrated. I love dogs and have a few at home that I had always bathed in the tub. I had also always wanted to become a groomer but never thought it was possible. I did extensive research on grooming schools in the L.A. area and found WCGA. After just a few minutes of meeting Chris I really believed he wanted to help me achieve my goals. (which is very rare) He really does want his students to succeed. Not only that, but his school is the only grooming academy that actually goes to L.A, based animal shelters to groom dogs in hopes that they have a better shot at being adopted. That in itself sold me on WCGA. Grooming is tough. It's not for everyone. Chris is an amazing groomer and an even better teacher! Whether you are looking to have your dog groomed by a master groomer (who is definitely a cut above the rest), or you are looking to begin your career in the grooming industry, it doesn't get any better than West Coast Grooming Academy. Two years ago I had Chris groom a rescue poodle named Nick, who was up for adoption, for his television debut on the Queen Latifah Show, and Chris made sure that Nick was camera ready and rockin his poodle cut! Nick wowed the pants off of Queen Latifah and the show's guest, groomer James Guiliani from the show The Diamond Collar, and was adopted the very next day! Chris will take on any dog, any breed and make them look like a super star! I've had a few grooming lessons from Chris myself, and what I like about him as a teacher is that he is very knowledgeable and humble; you really feel like you are in the presence of greatness and just hope that some of that talent will rub off on you! This academy is the best! I got my certification about 5 years ago and i recently went to get my pet cpr and advanced grooming certification. Love how Chris handles situations, hes very attentive , knows what hes doing. The hands on training experience is amazing ! The fact that he can get you certain breeds that you would like to work on the most is great . Chris and his team get you ready for the real world, they make sure your ready to go & also help you out with a job placement. Definitely recommend coming here if being a dog groomer is your passion . Chris took me under his wing about two years ago when he was my instructor at pets mart. He has been grooming for his whole working life and knows more then any other groomer I've ever met. I'm continuing my education at West Coast grooming Academy because Chris is not only very knowledgeable but he has a gift for teaching. He has a way to connect with every student and break things down in a way every learning style can understand. I've learned so much more then grooming from him, everything from pet nutrition to dog behavior and how to handle difficult dogs. Chris most definitely knows his stuff about grooming and animals. He came out looking fresh, smelling good, happy, along with a cute Fluffy Puppy dog bandana. It's so hard for me to trust anyone with Goji, but Fluffy Puppy has proved themselves time and again that they are so careful and good at what they do! Thanks to all!

My dog (poodle) is very anxious, so I'm always nervous taking her somewhere new, but she came out looking absolutely beautiful and, most importantly, seemed so happy and comfortable. They were quick, professional, and did a fantastic job. The shop is clean, the staff is wonderful and welcoming, and their pricing is incredibly reasonable, especially compared with what many other groomers in the area charge. I am so pleased with how everything turned out and so happy to have found them. Samantha did such a beautiful job, and we will absolutely be back. Highly, highly recommend!
