This bike shop was very accommodating after the bike tour company I hired failed to show up.

I took the 2 hour Central Park walking tour…read more Our guide, Aaron, was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting details throughout the tour. However, I was a bit distracted by how often he consulted his phone for accuracy, and he did take a short call during the tour. I appreciated his creative use of music to help us imagine the park's history -- it was a unique touch -- though I personally didn't want to stand still quite so long for that portion. He had also planned to show us historic photos, but unfortunately, the tablet provided by the company had a dead battery, which reflected more on the company's preparation than on Aaron himself. On the positive side, we were lucky to get a VIP-style experience since we were the only two participants on the tour. Aaron was thoughtful and kind -- he even brought and offered us a poncho since it was raining. He also went out of his way to guide us on how to use the subway afterward so we could reach our next appointment on time, and he eagerly pointed out great photo spots and offered to take pictures for everyone. Overall, I'm glad I took this tour. Aaron clearly cared about our experience and made it memorable despite a few minor hiccups. FYI: this tour does not include Strawberry Fields or the Alice in Wonderland statue.

I'd definitely recommend this company. Ask for Rusian if you want a great guided pedicab tour.

For the first 15 minutes we were yelled at by bicyclist and joggers and when we complained to the tour guide, he got very defensive. He gave very little information about historic landmarks and would google the information and play it back to us. Our so-called tour was 1 hr & 40 minutes when we paid for 2 hrs. I blame this company for not vetting him and he was not qualified to be a tour guide.

The forecast was for rain from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm so when I arrived, I asked the guy at the front desk if we could change our ride for one of the tours later in the day. They run tours at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. He responded and said that it was going to rain all day. I told him that was not the forecast and that it was supposed to be clear in the afternoon. He said that weathermen could not be trusted and he did not change our schedule. Shortly after the ride started, it rained heavily and the temperature was 39 degrees Fahrenheit. We were dressed for rain but didn't have gloves and between the cold and the wet, it was very rough. Within 20 minutes, one of my 14 year old sons was freezing and crying like I had never seen him cry. We had to leave the tour. When I got back to the bike shop, I asked if I was going to be given a refund. The same guy said immediately "No, you didn't ask to change the schedule." I was astonished. The first thing he said was that I didn't ask to change the schedule when he knew that was the first thing I asked. He had no problem looking me straight in the eye and lying. We don't get to New York often as we live in California. This guy really ruined our day and who knows when we will get back there. I recommend going with one of the tour operators below. https://bikerentalcentralpark.com https://centralparkbikerental.nyc https://biketourscentralpark.com https://www.nycparktours.com/bike-tour https://fancyapple.com/biketours I would avoid these tour operators as they are all the same bad people. https://bikerent.nyc https://www.centralpark.com/tours/bike https://centralparkrentbike.com

And your guide, Rick, is worth listening to. A native NYC guy, his energy and enthusiasm for the city is evident. He's funny, engaging and has a knack for pointing out the interesting info you might not know about NYC. The views on bridge are phenomenal. Our route was about 19 miles long and took just under 3 hours. I'm 52 and my son is 26. We had no trouble with the distance or warm July day, although we do e-bike at home in Arkansas. Can't say enough about how great this e-bike tour was and how much we enjoyed spending some time with Rick. Pick this tour and have a great, safe time! E-bikes were easy to learn, good breaks, comfy seat, simple 1 to 5 power pedal assist and a not-scary but very useful throttle. 95% of tour is bike path and the majority is protected bike path. We had no trouble following Rick and his well timed instructions and directions. Thank you to Rick for showing us such a great time and introducing us to his view of NYC!

We covered so many boroughs and bridges that if we didn't do it on an eBike there is no way we would have conquered so much area in such a small amount of time. Don't hesitate, you won't regret it. Rick, the owner - being a NY native, he knows the layout of NYC and will keep you safe and guide you throughout the madness calmly. Any uneasiness will diminish as he leads the way pointing out any areas of concern all while keeping on subject so you don't miss a beat. He provides many fun facts that you can't find online, any inside "local" scoop and most importantly - how to be a New Yorker - beep, beep, beep! HONK that horn, haha ;) We highly recommend Rick and his company, NYC Adventure eBike Tours! From the moment we met Rick, we knew we were in good hands. You'd never guess that we'd just met. He treats you like family and will give you the shirt off his back....or rather a jacket (because your son forgot his). Thanks Rick!! We'll be back Sept '25, see you then!! -Jen & Titus =) San Diego, CA

Scenic views/routes; 2. Although it's labeled as century ride, you can choose from as short as 15 miles, 60 miles, and 100 miles; 3. Plenty of rest stops with water/energy drink refills and foods; 4. Really flat. Cons: 1. Expect traffic lights and bad road condition (not close road race; you have to walk on the bridges); 2. Easy to get lost as the marks are hard to notice if you are not paying close attention. (Light yellow marks at the intersections); 3. The trip takes too LONG and too much time. A lot of traffic lights (so expect a lot of clip-on and unclip). Overall, it was fun!! Rode to many great places that I never been to before. A great way to tour the city but be careful as the road condition is not consistent.

Rather plenty! I just chased them, though I never caught up with the daredevils, but they made me compete my first 100 miles! This was on on a Cannondale Hybrid Quick CX4 bought with cash over Craigslist! ...after 2 years of riding I was ready for a full carbon bike, spent shit loads of money and got one in 2016. The Cannondale Synapse is name Green machine, yep cause its green in color!!!!! So, in Sept 2016, i rode the 2nd time! The 27th NYC Century on the Green Machine, it was an epic feeling with a carbon frame vs an Aluminum one. But- I was still searching for those 2 chicks (sigh) ....so times passed by and as those 2 chicks became a distant memory- Transport Alternative (the cycling advocacy group in NYC) announced that 2019 ride (the 30th) would be the last. So 9/8/19, i did my last The 30th and Final NYC Century in the last attempt to FINALLY find those girls, but I just rode the ride with the memory of the ride downthe memory lane.... Good work Transport Alternatives for arranging 30 consequetive rides since 1990. Too bad its no more for you to experience!

This, hands down, was worth the time and cost and we are so glad we did it. A tour was a much better idea than just roaming around. We saw many things we did not come across before! The bikes used on the tour were much easier to operate and the gears came in handy- the general city rentals are heavy and have no gears! There was no significant skill or athletic requirement so this tour would be perfect for all ages assuming you can ride a bike. I was thankful we were not required to wear helmets. The info was insightful and enjoyable; we learned a lot and there was a great balance of biking and then talking/walking. Lyall was full of great info including insight for cost of living around the park, local residents and he was also able to answer all our random questions! The only thing we missed (but had seen before) was the iconic fountain featured in the TV series Friends. We look forward to checking out other tours he/they may have or repeating the tour when we return with our children.

When I picked up the bike, a Larry's technician certified it as ready to ride after a tune-up. Within minutes of riding it, the gears began slipping badly. The chain came off entirely shortly after. I took the bike to another shop, which diagnosed worn cassette, crankset, and chain -- components that don't wear out from minimal use. Either Larry's failed to notice this during multiple tune-ups, or they noticed and said nothing. Either way, the bike was certified as rideable when it was not. When I called Larry's to report this, rather than taking any responsibility, a staff member became belligerent and told me I was "ignorant." That response alone tells you everything you need to know about how this shop treats customers when something goes wrong. I ended up paying $180 in repairs to make the bike actually rideable. Incompetent work and rude staff when confronted about it. Go elsewhere.
