I had this bike for almost 30 years "Cannondalle Super V500" year 1998. I love my bike and the people in this shop were so kind to me and understood my concerns. They explained to me everything that needed to be done to fix my bike. When I returned to pick up my bike, I was taken back on how it looked. It looked brand new, I almost started crying. The mechanic did an amazing job. I couldn't believe how it looked. I can't tell you how happy I am. My bike looks like it came out the store new. I highly recommend this bike shop.

I imagine if you're bringing your regular bike or mountain bike there it would be fine, but I was bringing my Brompton fold-up bike there for the first time and they completely dropped the ball. First, I only went for a cleaning but Imbert talked me into getting a new chain. It was a bit old to be fair, but when I went to pick it up a few days later, the chain was WAY to long and would uncouple from the sprocket upon folding. I brought this up and to their credit, they shortened the chain and it seemed fine...for a minute. Then I went to ride it and the chain would skip upon ANY pressure, so I went back. They explained that it needed new sprockets and they didn't carry them so I'd have to go Brompton Junction. Why this was not explained and owned up to from the jump was my first point of contention. I was also upset because I had wanted to just keep the old chain but they talked me into a new one and had thrown the old away and that meant by bike was made unrideable by their actions and that's thing two. The other thing was that they ruined the paint job with whatever high pressure hose they were looking to clean it with (see picture). All that for $174 and that is ridiculous. I did get a refund for the chain at $32, But to not just own up to it right away, apologize, and OFFER A FULL REFUND is quite frankly just not good enough. There are are too many other, better bike shops out there and I'll get to that later. I love my Bromptons and I was pissed. Luckily, I paid with my Am Ex card and I will definitely be getting my refund back in full through them in due course. If your looking to get your Bromptons serviced, save yourself the incompetence and lack of outgoing service and just head down to Brompton Junction over on Bleeker Street. Better Yet, hit up David at BFold as he the absolute Best! You can find him at 224 East 13th Street. Yet another reminder of why Quality is Worth the Extra Hassle And when it comes to premium bikes: You Get What You Pay For. Or Don't.

I…read morehaven't written a Yelp review in years but felt compelled to do so this evening because I had such a great experience at Bicycle Habitat vs some other shops I went to in the city... I had previously tried getting a bike from the Specialized store on the UWS and while they were friendly, their service times left a lot to be desired. Same goes for Hilltop in Williamsburg (also owned by Specialized) - those guys treated me like I was a sale/noob and really couldn't have cared less about figuring out what was "right" for me given I wasn't going to be buying a bike from them. Nice guys, but once again - backed up for weeks on the service side of things. Back to Bicycle Habitat - Matt and the team were awesome. Took their time with me after a build and helped me get sorted with both shoes and clips - adjusted my bike a bit and really made sure I got some practice clipping in/out and that I was all set to go before walking out the door. All in all spent over an hour in the shop both chatting with the guys and getting set up with the new bike. I will 100000% be bringing any and all future bike needs to the shop and will be making it known to friends/fellow bikers that this is the place to go. I took the 2 hour Central Park walking tour…read more Our guide, Aaron, was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting details throughout the tour. However, I was a bit distracted by how often he consulted his phone for accuracy, and he did take a short call during the tour. I appreciated his creative use of music to help us imagine the park's history -- it was a unique touch -- though I personally didn't want to stand still quite so long for that portion. He had also planned to show us historic photos, but unfortunately, the tablet provided by the company had a dead battery, which reflected more on the company's preparation than on Aaron himself. On the positive side, we were lucky to get a VIP-style experience since we were the only two participants on the tour. Aaron was thoughtful and kind -- he even brought and offered us a poncho since it was raining. He also went out of his way to guide us on how to use the subway afterward so we could reach our next appointment on time, and he eagerly pointed out great photo spots and offered to take pictures for everyone. Overall, I'm glad I took this tour. Aaron clearly cared about our experience and made it memorable despite a few minor hiccups. FYI: this tour does not include Strawberry Fields or the Alice in Wonderland statue.

There are many stops where Marc our guide would tell us many different stories and historical tidbits. We saw north of Harlem and the Bronx, picturesque woods, ate at a Dominican Republic restaurant for lunch, saw Little Italy in the Bronx, so much fun! Our tour guide Marc was awesome, funny, and caring. There was another tour guide (I think Chris) who always rode in the back to make sure none of us got lost or left behind. We saw things on this tour that we would never have seen any other way. They fitted us for bikes and helmets and provided waters, bikes were fine. We felt safe at all times. It would tip over every time he hit the brakes (rear brakes). The bikes were very uncomfortable to ride on, in addition to not being able to go up the hill so we would walk them most of the time. another customer came back with the chain off his bike right after he took off with it. I made a reservation on line, so the bikes were supposed to be waiting for us, however we ended up waiting 25 minutes as they were taking people before us. The worst part is the attitude of sales people when I asked them for a refund, the guy was trying to convince me I didn't know how to ride a bike. (?!) Don't bother with this place!There are a lot better places around, that are not street walkers, but regular stores you can walk in to.

We called the phone number twice and the man on the end of the line was really apologetic for the late-running store clerk. The store clerk turned up smelling of alcohol, was unapologetic and rude. He was also difficult to deal with being Russian and having limited English. When we returned the bilked I wanted my ID back but he kept asking for an "order". He never gave any receipts, forms or "orders". I finally got my ID, which he was rude and disrespectful again in providing. Will never go back or recommend.
