I had to walk 3 miles and had another couple miles more to a bike shop when I saw that King cycling Has a bike trailer that they set up park. I believe they are there Wednesday through Sunday starting around noon depending on the weather in the summer. They fixed my tire, was very knowledgeable and the prices were great. The repair guy told me how they also rent bikes out to schools and for parties. Hayley, recommend them.

This is an awesome bike tour and a great but different way to experience NYC. We took the Dutch Roots tour. Lots of facts and stories; learned a lot and appreciate this great city even more. The trip was overall easy and leisurely with a few hills which I walked my bike up those, there was no pressure. There are many stops where Marc our guide would tell us many different stories and historical tidbits. We saw north of Harlem and the Bronx, picturesque woods, ate at a Dominican Republic restaurant for lunch, saw Little Italy in the Bronx, so much fun! Our tour guide Marc was awesome, funny, and caring. There was another tour guide (I think Chris) who always rode in the back to make sure none of us got lost or left behind. We saw things on this tour that we would never have seen any other way. They fitted us for bikes and helmets and provided waters, bikes were fine. We felt safe at all times. When we return to NYC, we will definitely do this again. Don't miss out!

Walking it, we wouldn't see much: Not only is Central Park huge, but it was cold and she walks slowly. Self-guided bike touring wasn't an option. That left us with a horse carriage ride or a Pedicab. FYI, I have since learned that if someone approaches you with a laminated tour guidebook, they are not only permitted by the City, but there are strict regulations regarding their solicitation. There are many Pedicabs available at the south entrance of the park who will approach you: Though with permits, not all are endorsed. Yes, you can save a buck by choosing one, but your experience may be only a trip (no commentary or stops included). Emir caught our attention at Columbus Circle. His cousin Nihat (commonly called "Night") was our Pedicab tourguide. What a fantastic experience! Side note: I've since found/spoken with a manager of Central Park Tours: Nihat "Night" is one of the highest rated tourguides: I suggest you seek him out by name! Emir gave us the "schpeel," explaining options. Horse carriage ride at a lower price (by comparison) would significantly limit what we'd see. Wanting to see more, we opted for a higher-priced, longer tour via Pedicab. Realizing now that we lucked out, I can't tell you how awesome Nihat "Night" was! He was so personable, provided great commentary & photo-ops (including taking pictures of us), and helped my mom in/out for each stop. I absolutely recommend Central Park Tours. FYI, payment is collected upon completion of your tour: 1. To prove that they deliver what's promised (& that it's not a scam, because there are plenty of scam tours), and 2. For you to tip your tourguide appropriately (please consider being generous - this is their livelihood!). I'm confident you'd agree that if you get Nihat "Night," you'll have a similar awesome tour of Central Park! You get what you pay for with Central Park Tours, especially with Nihat!

My fiancé and I walked here from the New York side at the end of January. It wasn't that cold and it was kind of windy. Anyway there's a whole bunch of tables set up at the end of the bridge on the NY side with souvenirs; keychains, posters, post cards, etc. very cheap too! Like $1 ea. Or 10 for $5 - not a bad deal. As for the bridge itself it's so packed. There's a lane designated for bikers are they will honk or yell at you if you're in there and will run you over if you don't move lol. They will not slow down. It's hard to get a picture on the bridge when it's busy. Everyone's taking their selfies with the lovely buildings. And people are constantly asking others if they can take pictures for them. I mean, just get your picture and get out lol. You don't have to actually walk the whole bridge. You seen it you took a picture so get out lol.

It is wayyyyy busier and there are a lot of little vendors that sell really cheap souvenirs (tip for tourists), drinks (cans and bottled) and ladies selling fruits. There are two lanes. One for walkers and one for bikers. It is nice to respect each other and stay on your designated side. It is free to walk the bridge and also very fun and relaxing. I recently took the walk by myself and had a great time. I chatted with some of the vendors and took in the scenery. Even though it is busy, you are still able to get a picture without so many people if you take your time. I always enter from the Brooklyn side, no specific reason why. If you are a tourist I wouldn't recommend wasting money on a "tour" unless you can't google the history yourself. Tours restrict your time. It may be better to roam for free. This is a must do if you are ever in NY!

These people were my saviors…read more After visiting Amsterdam, I totally fell in love with the Dutch bike lifestyle and NEEDED one. Unfortunately, my purse didn't have an extra $1,500 (what seemed like the average price from my searches) to spend on one. So I did what any 21st century girl would do- I bought one online and had it delivered to me! (actually, we bought two- one for the boyfriend of course) Republic Bikes sells the Dutch style for 1/3 of the price, and I guess you get what you pay for- assembly was NOT what we expected, and soon discovered we were up a creek without a paddle- we needed help. Because there was no way we were lugging two bikes, in pieces to a LBS, I called/e-mailed around to see who could come to my rescue and make a house call. Enter: Rolling Orange. Sabine was the most polite, non-pretentious bike shop owner(?) I'd ever spoken to. I didn't get any crap from her about purchasing a bike and assuming I could put it together myself, she didn't scoff when I asked if they had someone who could come to my apartment to help, and she set up an appointment time for the next day. Amazing! I wish I could remember the mechanic's name- she was super nice (and also kept her judgments to herself) and gave me an accurate quote before going to work. She had the two bikes assembled perfectly within an hour! Minus a star simply for the price per bike ($70) but it was totally worth it for lack of attitude and superior service. They even let me call in to pay with credit card over the phone. I'll definitely be heading into the store...on my new wheels, of course.... for any future needs!
