Another fun day of Escape Room adventures in the books. We usually have a team of six of us and we decided to try this one out for their Game On room. We mostly did it for the Dave and Buster's feel and to try something different. This business is located in a plaza upstairs in a business building. I have seen a few like this now. We were greeted and allowed to put our things in a locker if we chose. We were then provided instructions and led to our room. I won't spill the beans on what exactly goes on or what to look for, but I thought we were going to be crammed in the first small room and was happy to see that it opened up to a second, very cool looking room. We would have finished with ten to fifteen extra minutes to spare, but we missed a critical clue in the beginning and somehow finished in a round about way with a minute and a half to spare. Eek! This was my seventh escape room. We are hoping to find many more cool ones. read more

We have done all rooms here except for Against us. Each room was certainly unique and extremely immersive. We first did Game On, and that was our absolute favorite and is in our Top 5 of Escape Rooms that we've done overall. In each room we had our 6 year old with us which added another layer of difficulty, however the puzzles required enough thought to keep my wife and I working, yet we were able to keep our daughter engaged. The GM's here were all excellent, GM nudges were perfectly timed and given. The staff are all super friendly and the customer service was excellent. We had the pleasure of working with Rad, Kristen and Scott, all were extremely helpful, charming and professional. We look forward to finishing off Unlocked with a larger group of friends as we've been told against us needs a minimum of 4, but I cannot recommend Unlocked enough! read more

My group and I did the "Return of the Magician", which I chose because it was advertised as having won awards in 2021 and 2022. It is also advertised as being story-driven which I thought sounded fun. I have to rate the experience low because frankly this is a very generic escape room, The people I went with have not done many escape rooms and they were disappointed. Other than a couple of cool tricks, every puzzle is similar to what you would find in any other escape room. It's not like nothing is done well, but it is also nothing special. I am not a huge escape room person, the only other two escape rooms I've done are The Curse of the Black Knight, and The Witch. Both of those are popular escape rooms in OC, and they are much much better than this room. Our gm was great, nice, and helpful no complaints at all. read more

Really cool escape rooms here. We did the Magician's Apprentice about a month ago and their Nightmare Before Christmas one since then. Both were fun and well-themed. Shantelle C. Was a great gamemaster for our "Nightmare" session, providing plenty of good hints whenever we needed them (it was just myself and my 9yo daughter.) Unlocked is very unassuming from the outside, but their puzzles inside the building are well thoughtout. As with most escape rooms, going with more than two people is recommended, but the gamemasters are very accommodating with hints as needed. The Magician's Apprentice is less linear, which is its own kind of fun. Nightmare was chick full of puzzles and fun to play through. Will return sometime to do another room. read more

We came back to Unlocked which has merged with Puzzle Workshop and did Saving Christmas which is an overlay for the former room Illuminati which I've done ages ago. I remember some of the same elements from Illuminati but I didn't remember much. The puzzles made sense and the production was simple. There was one puzzle that required good senses which was challenging for us but we knew how to solve it. It's a good room for friends and family. Kim was our host and she was a joy to hangout with. We decided to come to Unlocked for my belated birthday celebration. Our game master Dominic was super accommodating despite one of our party members being very late, so I was extremely grateful for this. We played the arcade-themed room and initially it was smaller than I expected until we revealed the second room. The room was a bit older-appearing but the theme was super cool and they really integrated the arcade games into the room play. It was also cool having to "fix" the games instead of the traditional "escape the room" goal. There were definitely still a lot of cool tech elements in the room. I will say that the room was quite challenging, and it was helpful having additional players (we were a group of six) since it is a non-linear room. We were successfully able to escape with just a few hints/nudges in the right direction, with a little over 3 minutes to spare. Everyone had a lot of fun and we would love to return to try their other rooms, especially the room with real magic tricks! It was also cool how you get a unique pin plus a Polaroid-esque photo after successfully completing the room. Prices depend on your group size and for a party of six it came out to $41/person in July 2024. read more

It's recommended to arrive about 15 min before your appointment time because that time should be the time you start the escape room. We did it at 8:30pm on a weekday so there were no other groups waiting. Markus was our game master and she was understanding, responsive and fun. Whenever we needed hints, she responds immediately and aware of where we are in the puzzle flow. We did the spaceship theme escape room with 5 of us and it was fun! The puzzles were fun to solve. There is pin that represents the room and I got to keep it for the group. For every escape room, there is a pin that connects to other pins. That is enough motivation for me to want to come back along with solving more fun puzzles. Note: Directions from yelp leads you to the building next to it, but the sign UNLOCKED is pretty clear on the building when you drive up to it. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. read more

We made some silly mistakes because we are silly s but we still made it out with 2 minutes to spare and 0 hints . The staff here were very friendly! For our escape room experience, we tried the "Game On" arcade room ! As reference, we were able to fully complete the room with bonuses as a group of 4. Admittedly, we did ask for a few clues but the solutions are definitely logically obtainable within the time limit. Overall, it was very fun and definitely a good place to start if some of your members are relatively new. Don't misunderstand though, this is great even for the experienced ones too! Behind the scenes, I also have to say that the customer service was terrific! They were very understanding when it came to complications my group had. It's hard to find customer service on that level these days and I definitely appreciate it as an added bonus to our experience. read more

Tried out the Arcade theme room because the kids love video games. This was their first escape room and every puzzle was awesome. The game master Corben was super helpful in guiding the kids through challenging pieces and was friendly throughout rules and intro. Came her last night with some friends for Valentine's Day and we had an amazing time! Our host / game master was Skylar who was fantastic, helpful, and super friendly, especially when assisting us with clues. The room we did was an arcade-themed room which I highly recommend. There are authentic game props and puzzles that really helped with the immersion, and the props were all very high quality. We escaped with about 3-4 minutes leftover, but there were only 4 of us so a smaller team than I'm personally used to. Also we wanted to make sure to fully complete the room and not miss any of the optional tasks, so that was satisfying. I've done 35+ escape rooms and I can safely say this is one of the better rooms I've played in terms of quality, storyline, puzzles, and design. Would highly recommend and I would definitely come back to try out the other rooms! read more

We did the Game On room which was pretty innovative and fun. For experienced escape room groups, would recommend keeping it to maybe 2-3 people because there were a few times where many people in our larger group were standing around with nothing to do. However, neat room design and think it was new, different, and fun. Would recommend trying it out! Our game master was very nice, but despite us never asking for hints and declining nudges every time they were offered, they kept offering and giving nudges/hints despite us finishing with a lot of time left on the clock. So there wasn't really a need for any hints/nudges and it ended up making us feel really rushed in the room. That was kind of a bummer and ruined it for me a bit. :( I think implementing a request-only hint system would be a more immersive experience that allows people to feel like they have time to puzzle things out. read more

We just finished our Against Us (Among Us themed) escape room today, we had a blast. The escape rooms were cleverly put together and our whole party had a great time. Our game master Nat did a great job welcoming us and giving us a bunch of clues. We completed the puzzle and escaped with less then 20 seconds of time left on the clock.
