I did the Weeping Witch room with 3 other friends, and it was incredible. The room was extremely well-crafted in terms of both aesthetics/atmosphere and puzzles. We usually had multiple puzzles to solve, allowing us to split up and tackle our problems. Our game master Coraline was absolutely fantastic. She was incredibly kind and entertaining. Engaging in banter with Bellamy was very enjoyable; I almost wanted to do that more than the puzzles! The scares were electrifying, and the witch actress did amazing, completely petrifying me and my friends. read more

The Weeping Witch escape room has been on our list to try for a while. We've done around sixty escape rooms, but so far we haven't tried any rooms with a live actor due to a little bit of fear factor. Recently, we were chatting with our game master at another escape room, and they mentioned that The Weeping Witch was a good first room to try with a live actor. With those comments, we went ahead and booked it a few weeks later. Cross Roads Escape Games is easy to find. It's located on a corner in an industrial area and is well marked. There is plenty of parking. The waiting area is spacious, and there is an additional larger waiting room for overflow. There are lockers by the front door to store your belongings. Waivers must be completed in person by scanning a QR code when you arrive, so don't be late. We arrived before our friends, so we chatted a bit with David who would be our game master. Once our friends arrived, we watched an introductory video and entered the room in single file. All parts of the overall experience are pretty dimly lit, and there is definitely a spooky vibe. This was definitely a great introduction to a live-actor room, since the live actor only appears periodically, and you have a hint as to when they are coming. The room has a mix of linear and non-linear puzzles, and we split up at times to conquer different parts of the room. There is a good mix of combo locks, a few key locks, and a lot of great original mechanical puzzles. There are also parts where the whole team must participate together. The clue system is very original, and you must have a certain skill to obtain hints. One person will have to do a little crawling. This was definitely one of the harder rooms we have done. David mentioned that this room only has a 30% escape rate, and we finished with only five seconds left. They do not give extra time even if you are close since the ending is pretty dramatic and is all automated. Bring your A-game! David was an excellent game master. We enjoyed chatting with him both before and after the room. He added some comedic relief via the clue system in an otherwise spooky room. He gave us a few well timed nudges as the clock was ticking quickly, helping us escape with the narrowest of margins. For such a great room, it is very reasonably priced at a flat rate of only $42 per person. This room was probably in our top three of all time. Highly recommended! read more

Loved it so much the first time (Fun House) that my group had to come back just weeks later for the Weeping Witch room. My group of 4 finished with 1:50 left on the clock. There were lots of fun out-of-the-box puzzles to make the games unique even at the same escape room venue. This room had a live actor with some jump scares - sorry for my Tourette's that came out! Our game master Mina was fantastic from start to finish. The interactive element and humor was so enjoyable. Cannot wait to go for the Hex Room once we get a group of 6 coordinated for it. read more

This is my third time doing an escape room ever, and by far my most favorite/memorable! And that is LARGELY due to our Game Master, Coraline! We did the Weeping Witch theme, and though I'm horrible with scares/horror themes, Bellamy and Coraline made it very enjoyable + shoutout to the scare actor! We had plenty of help (thank you it was VERY MUCH NEEDED FOR US) and it never felt bad or insincere! I hope that we were able to make you laugh with our "jokes and secrets". Definitely would come back again to try your other rooms! read more

Overall: The rooms we did were The Weeping Witch and the Hex Room! We had a group of 5 and I feel like that is enough to get the rooms completed. The rooms are well decorated and super immersive. The production quality was amazing. I also want to say shout out to our game masters Mina and Molly. They were both great and I loved that they were super into it too! Great vibes all around here. Experience: The rooms here are on the smaller side, but it's packed with so much detail and so many different puzzles. The systems for the rooms are all super unique compared to some escape rooms I've completed before. Hex Room: I loved the part where you take a quiz and get assigned a role. We had the minimum amount of people for this room and it was still super fun! It can be a bit challenging if you've never done any sort of escape room before. Weeping Witch: This room is definitely very spooky! The room is super high tech and filled with a lot of unique puzzles (not just your typical lock and key type of puzzles). All the effects were super cool with the lights, animatronics, etc. This room is a bit more challenging since it's nonlinear. The Witch (live actor) was very good at providing a lot of scares! Price: Average price for an escape room. I would say it's pretty affordable for such a high tech room! Parking: There is plenty of parking - we had no issues finding parking. read more

First time here. Such an exhilarating experience in the Hex room. I think this is one of my top escape room experiences. Mina was also super sweet, lively, encouraging, knew her ish very well, and so many great things. Wish there were small snacks like granola bars or jerky to purchase but overall, my experience was amazing. I walked in the building feeling "whatever " but with each minute that passed, and with more info that I was given, I got more and more excited. Love all the escape room at this place! I've done all three of them and can't give more glowing reviews. David was an amazing game master. I love his witty comments and back and forth interactions. Most game masters would only respond if you want a hint, but in weeping witch I appreciate his quick witted responses and commentary to add a little humor into the already scary room. All rooms are pretty non-linear. Funhouse is a non-scary, circus magician theme. Weeping Witch is a horror, actor supernatural room. Hex room is a horror, multi-character & teamwork room. All unique, interesting puzzles and makes you really do a double take to get through the tasks! Wish I can do them all over again! read more

Thank you Mina for a terror-ific escape room experience! Immersive ambience, challenging puzzles, enticing plot. + The scare aspect was very appealing and effective. The scared people in our group really huddled up quivering with their eyes sealed shut. + I love that in order to get a hint, you have to tell the doll a joke. Never seen that before! I'm full of jokes, but I wasn't mentally prepared for this foreign concept. I shouldn't have hesitated, and should've just dished out jokes earlier on, save us more time. We were stuck for too long. . Some puzzles were reasonably challenging, others felt a bit obscure or unreasonable to figure out without a lil help. + Good amount of parking. . I've been to a different horror escape venue where the actors actually scream at you and drag you around, so now my standards are high... The design of "The Hex" is extremely creative and engaging, unlike any room I've ever played before. I highly recommend this room, but there are things you should consider: -The game will split your party into different rooms. As a result, the game plays best with EXACTLY 6 people. -Assuming you have 6 people, everyone will have ample things to do instead of one person quarterbacking the entire experience. This could be great for escape if you have a team of more experienced players or possibly detrimental if someone is less experienced. -The theme is a horror movie. As someone who does not enjoy horror movies, I was creeped out but never scared to the point of not being able to progress in the room. The 2/5 scary rating on the website seemed appropriate to how scary the room actually was. -I felt like the challenge of this room was fair and appropriately advertised. The room was a bit dark and had flickering lights, so sometimes I had difficulty seeing what I was working on. Not a big deal in the end. Finally, I have to say a huge thank you to David, our game master. He explained the rules and the setting very well to our group and did not go overboard with hints. We were able to escape and solve all 6 bonus survival puzzles with 2:45 to spare! read more

We did the hex room with a group of 8! Some people were more experienced than others, but that worked well for us and was so fun! We escaped with 21 minutes to spare! David was an awesome game master. He explained the rules well and made our experience smooth and fun. It is horror movie themed, but felt more like a thriller!The room is darker with flickering lights. If you have a group where people are scared, I think it's still do-able. Would just highly recommend more than 6 people so you can pair with someone. Overall wonderful experience and look forward to going back for the the weeping witch! read more

Our group has done The Hex Room and Fun House before, however, The Weeping Witch is still very impressive to us. Personally I appreciate the cinematic setting of the room and the apperance of TWW, which made me feel like I was in the real horror movie. The light, the smoke and the live actor really made the experience so scary and special at the same time. My family and I finally did The Weeping Witch at Crossroads. It was so much fun and Will was a great game master for us. He made sure to support us when we needed it and we were able to finish the room with only 19 seconds to spare. This was our first scary room with a live actor and I would have to say, it was frightening yet exciting at the same time. It's sad that we've finished all the rooms here but we look forward to the future for any new rooms here and will definitely come back. I booked the Fun House escape room for my daughters birthday. She and 4 of her friends did it together. She specifically wanted one that wasn't scary. They had so much and said their Game Master David was so funny and gave great clues to help them along the way.
