Honestly, the place came highly recommended, I work on my feet daily , wanted a good gel pedicure, the women was so rude and almost annoyed to be doing my toes. She came off as rude when she spoke, I actually have to go get my toes re done to get the ingrown toe nails and dead skin off bottoms, and to be properly massaged. This is the first time I've been to my favorite nail salon since COVID began. I've been afraid to go to nail or hair salons because I'm autoimmune & over 70. I was very happy to see the precautions they've taken. A plastic barrier has been placed between the nail technician & the client in the chair. There's a few options for nails in Chicks Beach and this was the first time I ventured into Unwine with my daughter. The shop is located in North Beach Shoppes off Shore Drive across from Kroger. The strip is probably early 70's, but has had a renovation and looks good. The lot is adequate for parking to business ratio. The area was clear of debris and walk up tidy. An Asian woman greeted myself, daughter and girlfriend with no appointment. Once she knew the service they wanted of a manicure a nail color sample was offered. I was the only dude in the place, but that's ok. I'm secure enough in my masculinity I can handle it. The shop is good size and modern looking. They offer traditional nail services such as pedicures, manicures and spa. The business was busy for a weekday at noon, however they had a lot of staff to accommodate us quickly. Within minutes the girls each had their own manicurist. Timing seemed average at 30 minutes allowing time for the dryer. The price was better than other shops at $15 per. Tips cannot be put on a credit card and are cash only. I found my daughters experience to be very good. 4.5, rounding down with a single visit. I would bring her back and per our conversation this is where most of her teen friends go. read more

Fantastic experience here. I just moved to the area and desperately needed a gel manicure. I lucked out walking in on a Saturday afternoon without a wait. Based on what my nail artist said, it typically does get very busy around that time. I was placed at Brianna's station and she was amazing. My nails look better than they have in months and the manicure was very enjoyable. She was gentle, obviously cared for the health of my nails, and was very easy to talk to. I went in to Unwine with a group of four and we had a few changes to our appointment and they were so accommodating even though it seemed like they had a full schedule. I got dip polish and Jelisha did my nails. She was amazing, hands down the best dip polish I have ever gotten, they are very smooth and not too thick. I am so happy with how they turned out! Soooooo.... I'm kind of lazy nowadays when it comes to makeup. If I could just wake up and slap on a mask that had makeup already on it, I would pay top dollar! I wouldn't even wait Amazon Prime Day to get deals on it. Swear before my own life. Anyway... It's been a long time coming that i get lash extensions put on my face and I was lucky enough to find Kimberly on Instagram who does them. After contacting her and asking a few questions, my initial appointment with her was set up and I was laying on the table before I knew it. The salon is bright, in a great location with plenty of parking, and it's pretty big in size. Each time I've come in they've had a lot of clients. They also do manicures, pedicures, waxing, and tinting. Kimberly is very gentle and focused when applying lashes. She has a calm voice and is very friendly and personable. I liked that she didn't do too much talking either because I get nervous when that happens... we get carried away and yada yada yada. Anyway. She's great, she takes pictures, and I like her. She gives you clear instructions for after care and maintenance for optimum enjoyment, if you will. Price points are: $100 for classic, $200 for volume, $50/$60 respectively for fills. If you wait longer than 3 weeks for a fill, you're going to get a full set so take care of your lashes and come when you're supposed to to save ya some money! My feet / nails look terrible, uneven, the polish has runs and is already chipping in under a day. Several of my nails resemble claws. I don't think this is necessarily typical of this spa; I'm still struggling to understand what happened. This spa had the best ratings in the neighborhood. I called ahead, made an appt, arrived on time. The spa was clean and packed with smiling customers. I just wanted to relax. I wear prescription sunglasses indoors, and didn't really look like the other customers. The older lady employee said something in her native language, and several workers looked at me in unison, I started to feel something was off or that they might be critical of me. I really just wanted to relax. My toes / nails look so blantanly awful that i can't imagine it was by accident. They all saw my feet when I walked out. It was so awkward. Today I can't even look down without feeling bad. It's too much. I wish I had stuck up for myself more. But I really just wanted to relax. My young nail tech didn't seem experienced nor interested & spent a good amount of time on her phone scrolling through pictures during the manicure. This is the first time I've had a painful manicure--she had difficulty wrapping the fools around nails to soak, so there was difficulty getting old gel off. The whole visit was unpleasant. 1. A spa called unwine that doesn't offer wine....why? Please explain why you tricked me in this way. 2.I picked matching dipping polish for my nails and regular polish for me pedi. After she had already finished my pedi, they informed me they didn't have the matching polish I picked out. Cool, I'm stuck with this toe nail polish that doesn't match. 3. One of the worst SNS dipping polish manicures I've ever gotten. My nails were barely filed, not to the shape I asked and very uneven. She used so much dipping polish that my nails look cartoonishly thick, almost bulbous. Instead of letting me rinse the dust off of my nails at the end, she began slathering lotion, embedding filed polish dust underneath my nails. When I looked uncomfortably down at my hands, she offered to remove it by painfully jamming her own nail underneath mine. I walked out with my hands feeling like I had just finished trying to dig a hole in the dirt and now it was underneath my nails--and unevenly shaped nails in a color I didn't choose. read more

I've got 99 problems but nails aren't one! This is my new go to nail salon. Unwine is located on Shore Dr. which is conveniently located near my new neighborhood. I strayed over for a Shellac manicure, pedicure and eye brow wax couldn't be happier that I found them. Other nail salons that I frequented were never consistent with pricing which ultimately made me seek a new venue. Shellac manicures are only $20.00 and was among the best I've ever received. My first manicure lasted over two weeks without chipping.The only reason I returned was because they had grown out and needed filing. I love that they have OPI brand gel! I usually search Pinterest for my next go to color so that I am not standing around for 45 minutes trying to decided on a color. So far I've picked OPI: Lincoln Park after dark and Viking in a Vinter Vonderland, both are a dark purple almost black for winter. My pedicure is still going strong and my eyebrow wax was only $8.00. She did an excellent job not to over wax and to make them look naturally shaped. I have read other reviews and I think unwine has worked out all the kinks. I stopped by today without a wait and was in and out in under 45 minutes. They do take credit cards/debit and accept tips on the card as well. I highly recommend Unwine. I woke up Saturday morning with the urge to get my nails done and no appointment in sight. I called around to a couple of shops I've visited in the past and was told there would be a 30-45 minute wait time at each shop. Understandable. When I called Unwine I was told there wouldn't be any wait and to come on in! Overall I had a really delightful experience. My mani/pedi was $5 less than I thought it would be which was great! I didn't expect such extensive feet and hand massages which were wonderful. My nail technician didn't talk a lot which I don't mind at all because it gave me a reason to sit back, relax, and watch the cooking shows on TV. I thought the nail bar was super creative and I appreciate that I was asked to pay before my fingernails were done. When my nails were dry I was able to just get up and leave without fumbling carefully through my purse. I was sad to find out that they only accept cash tips because I didn't have any cash on me. With engagement photos scheduled this week, I made an appointment this past Saturday to help me look my best. I had read from other reviews to make an appt to avoid long waits. While I was there it did seem that many were coming in with appointments, but walk-ins had no trouble waiting 5-10 minutes. You can tell they have a lot of regulars who even gave hugs when they left. I can see why because I'll definitely be back! I had also read that this place does the best foot/leg massages and OMG were they correct. I received the BEST spa pedicure in my life. All for $35 too! Every time I thought the massage was coming to an end she would break out a different type of lotion or mask & hot stones?! I was in pedicure Heaven. My toes are ready for their close up, summer! I decided on a French manicure for nails & they look great! While she was working on my fingers, I realized that I forgot to schedule a brow wax too. My nail tech said no problem & had the women who does the waxing come get me when she was done. They turned out great too! It's amazing how a few little things can help you feel like a million bucks. This place in fantastic! Visited for the first time a week ago and was taken care of immediately - no wait time! I had a lovely conversation with the owner, (Kim?) and the rest of her staff was extremely hospitable as well. A few days afterward, my gel polish began to chip. This is pretty unusual since gel typically stays pretty well on my nails - usually over 2 weeks. I noticed the color had began to change as well (the polish was light purple, but had started to turn black). Today (5 days after the manicure) I visited the salon and told them about the chipping. They immediately offered to fix not just the 3 chipped nails, but all ten at no cost! I told the technician that I was fine just having the chipped nails fixed, but after seeing the discoloration she replied "Nope, I don't like it" and insisted that we redo the entire manicure. Came in on a Sunday to get a gel manicure. I walked in with no appointment and was seen pretty much right away. The salon was nice, it was clean and the staff was very friendly. The nail tech Kimberly was nice, friendly and professional. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did a great job recreating it for me. I am very pleased with my visit and the way my nails came out. My only complaint is that you can't leave a tip when using debit.
