Very disappointed with my experience here. I went in for a pedicure and a simple color change on my nails and somehow walked out paying $173 before tip. Looking at the receipt afterward, I realized there were multiple extra charges added for things that were either never clearly explained or felt excessive for a standard appointment. While the salon itself was clean and the staff was pleasant, the pricing transparency was honestly unacceptable. Charges for things like "color tips," "special shape," "cut down," and other add-ons quickly added up without a clear breakdown beforehand. For the amount charged, I expected much better communication and overall value. I don't mind paying premium prices for premium service, but customers should know exactly what they're agreeing to before the total nearly reaches $200. I have been here twice in a 6 month time span. I have had Kim do my nails twice, in which she did a dip ombré on my nails and both times they turned out fantastically. Dip completely RUINS my nails, so I can't get it done all the time (and at $65 a pop, I'm sure there is a small part of the population who can). Both times I have also had pedicures which were honestly just...fine. Nothing to write home about. The person I had a few weeks ago tried to upsell me twice within 5 minutes of me sitting in the chair. This is something I absolutely cannot appreciate. First off, when you use Vagaro, you are already giving your customers access to your price list. You should know which of your customers to pitch upgrades to or not (walk ins vs. schedulers). When I get to pick my pedicure type on Vagaro and I choose basic, I assure you, I want basic. I don't want to be upsold 5 times to buy a more expensive pedicure. It's just annoying. And then when I refused, the tech barely looked at me the rest of the time I was getting my service done. Honestly, I think I would just return to get my nails done here (by Kim only). I needed another plan to celebrate my mother for Mother's Day. I did a Yelp search and this highly rated nail spa had some great reviews. I saw that I was able to schedule multiple appts. here on YELP. Awesome, right!! Well I ended up scheduling appts for my mother, myself and my daughter. We had a Friday before Mother's Day Spa day and it was fantastic. My mother received her mani at 2:30pm and about 3pm we all were serviced by different techs in the pedicure section. We were all able to sit together and enjoy being pampered. My tech in particular, Tommie was cool. He wasn't too talkative, but interacted just enough to my liking. I usually prefer silence, but a little story here and there... comic relief, here and there, I did not mind. The spa was tidy and the pedi chairs were comfy. My mother experienced a new nail tech and she had some reservation about her, but overall we all were satisfied as this was our first time here. Parking is available on the street and parking garages (FREE) are within walking distance. Several shops and eateries are all within walking distance. This was a great day. I've been to many nail salons in the area, trying to find one close by that I can call my home salon and Michael Michele is second to none in my experience. When it comes to my nail style I prefer to keep it natural and clean with pops of color and occasionally some design that is appropriate for my work place. If this is what you are looking for then I'd highly recommend this place. I've seen Kim for every visit and she has done a great job with an ombre dip powder nail and gel french tips. Each set has lasted me almost 3 weeks. She is so sweet and doesn't take too long to do my nails either so it works with my schedule. I also love the ease of being able to book in advance online by date and by employee. Wish every salon did that. It really helps those with crazy schedules. Not my usual nail salon, but I wanted a new set to treat myself! Came in & was greeted plus told there would be a little wait. The layout and color scheme is beautiful! I love how well organized everything is and how well it is kept. Great location right in town center. I see they have regulars so that was a good thing to see. Already had gel on my hands, so it had to be taken off. I'm use to them using a drill for removal but a nail file was used. Took awhile & I was moved to another chair to be helped. I like how the polishes are still in their original containers. Wish my hearts were a little more identical, but I love them & the color! Paid $150 for a basic pedi and dip manicure. The nail tech tried to talk me out of doing dip saying that gel is better for the nail and lasts longer. Looks like she just doesn't know how to do a proper dip because my nails looked like this after not even 3 days. She didn't even seal the fake nail to my actual nail and it makes it very hard to keep the nails clean underneath. In many places the dip doesn't even completely cover my real nail because she didn't shape them properly. I also had to ask for cuticle care and oil. She was going to completely skip that. I also had to ask on multiple nails to be shaped better. Absolute garbage for the price. I do not recommend this place. read more

I was told wonderful things about this salon so I thought I would try it out! I visited last Thursday got a full set removal & a new set of acrylics. Kim was SO nice and gentle with my nails and did a wonderful job and I was so impressed with her service. I just wish she used more dip powder because I broke a nail the very next day. I didn't think much of it and booked a nail repair a few days later to fix it, I called and they took me the same day. Kim was not available and I had another lady repair my nail. From the minute you enter until you leave. You feel like you are actually welcomed here. Temp checks are conducted (until further notice) and compliant face coverings are required. Scheduling online is easy and they respond quickly but you can also call and ask for an appointment. They sterilize their nail instruments and use liners for pedicures! (That's a plus and a must for me!) I love the dividers they put in place since they reopened .. works for covid mitigating standards requirements and as a privacy divider. So don't be embarrassed to get a pedicure ladies AND gents! Pricing is super fair and if you ever have a question about "why" is it the price it is they will more than gladly break down the price for you. But please remember.. you are getting quality when you chose this nail salon. The only CON I have, and has nothing to do with the salon, is parking. But! If you plan your appointment time right you can definitely grab a spot right out front. If not, town-center has plenty of free parking garages so you will definitely find parking. If you're new to the area or are tired of your current salon, check them out! I personally think they're the best. Michael has personally made a dip color of MY liking before (yes, spoiled for sure) and Michele is so detailed oriented! I've also seen grace and tommy for my gel mani/pedi and they are great! I have a tight schedule and I loved how convenient it was to book my appointment online and choose who I wanted as well. I scheduled an appointment for me and my friend to get basic pedicures / dip powder mani & UV gel mani the morning of and we were seated right away. The pedicure took less than an hour and was beautifully done. Mimi and Tommy did a great job on me and my friend's manicures as well. We were there from 11 - 12:30 which is a pretty good amount of time. Mimi was quick with my feet but made sure to get rid of the dead skin (I'm a nurse and am on my feet a lot). She took her time with my mani though and I really appreciated that. I paid $90 for both so I may change what I do for my manicure next time but I'm still glad I did it. I visited this salon for the first time yesterday , nice place, many color options, pretty quiet and they had good reviews. I arrived 10 min prior my appt time , picked my color and waited . I waited over 20 min after my appt time, and my pedicure literally lasted 20 min . I upgraded to their deluxe pedicure, seems you pay the extra to get a scrub . I'm assuming their classic pedicure doesn't include that . Even after all of that I was fine, just ready to go by this point... then I got home and notice the poor job on the nail polish . Lina came up to us and told my friend she couldn't take her because she had a client and my friend wanted chrome done so she took me instead. Lina butchered my cuticles that they are still looking terrible almost a week later. The gel was sloppy done and was not clean at all, not to mention it was $62 dollars! I called to see if someone else was able to fix her mistakes since my gel manicure peeled off by Wednesday 7/31 not even 48 hours later. I thought I was going to be able to come in this past Saturday 8/3 but unfortunately something came up and I wasn't able to make it due to limited availability. I called them the night before 8/2 to see if I would be able to be rescheduled and I have yet to be called back. They marked me as a no show after I called. I have known the owners for years and even before they moved locations and would always travel hours to get my nails done from NC OR RVA .. this isn't their fault perhaps but I had to cancel a few times and now am being punished or waitlisted ignored from a nail tech and can't get an appointment.. this is ok I can find another.. however it's not good business and unprofessional being I've been a loyal customer and send friends and family to the salon even in the MacArthur mall days .. way back ! My best friend booked a nail session for me and herself for an engagement gift. We were celebrating my engagement party that evening so we gave ourselves plenty of time to get our nails done and get lunch. My friend booked her appointment 15 minutes earlier than mine as she was getting a gel manicure and said it would take longer, so my appointment was booked a little after hers (just by about 15 minutes). When my friend was getting her nails done, she told me to double check on the time of my appointment just in case because her confirmation text read something different than the one she had originally received, so I walked to the front just to confirm what time my appointment was. The front desk girl was very rude. She looked at me and said "Yeah?" like she was saying "what?" My friend finished her gel manicure and got her eye brows waxed before my manicure even began. When the nail technician finally got to me, she rushed, cut my nails way too short and proceeded to make me feel like an inconvenience.
