Consumer Warning: Do Not Hire FixTman LLC (Washington, D.C.)…read more I would strongly caution anyone against hiring FixTman LLC for TV mounting or installation services. I hired this company through a referral from BJ's Wholesale Club, expecting professional installation. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst service experiences I have ever had. The technician arrived and spent 4 hours mounting my TV. Less than 10 minutes after he left, the TV fell completely out of the wall. After I contacted the company, the technician returned with his father and reinstalled it. That should have been the first red flag. The TV was installed in September 2025. In April 2026, the TV fell out of the wall again -- this time causing serious damage: * Destroyed my TV * Damaged my wall / sheetrock * Left me with additional repair costs I contacted FixTman LLC again, and their response was that they would do nothing because it had been more than 30 days. To make matters worse, Thumbtack Quality Assurance also stepped in and tried to help resolve the issue on my behalf. They contacted FixTman LLC directly, only to be told the exact same thing -- that I only had 30 days and they would not take responsibility. Let that sink in. A properly mounted TV should not fall out of a wall -- not once, and definitely not twice. This was not normal wear and tear. This was poor workmanship, improper installation, and a complete lack of accountability. In over 40 years, I have never seen anything like this. Please do your research before hiring this company. I will also be reporting this experience to BJ's Wholesale Club, since they referred them. I appreciate the role which FixT serves, but with Yelp as the solicitation platform, it admittedly seems like another unnecessary middleman to go through them. The contractors did miss some minor things with our playground assembly, and unfortunately the price came in higher (without notification), despite my providing the exact model and steps required for assembly at the time of soliciting. The insurability and lack of comprehensive quality guarantees is a little off putting in the end, as even other entities that exclusively use "independent contractors" such as uber, still have additional protections in place for the end customer. Overall, they were good, not perfect. The process was wonky, but worked (for the most part) in the end. I just would prefer to go directly to the contractors in the future.

Well, I'm alive and well, and I'm happier than ever! Over the last week, Chauntese, the owner of this company, and I have been texting about my planned project for the house (getting stuff mounted in my living room). We discussed the expected costs, the space, recommendations for what I would need, and I regularly sent her things to verify that I would be able to use them. Due to varying delivery dates, I had to even push back the day I originally planned to have this done, and it was fine! When the day finally came, she was wonderful. Her assistant, Joshua, was just as cool as she was. The project took about 3.5 hours, but trust me, this was not a "I wish she would hurry up so this can be over with" type of deal! There was conversation, there were laughs, there was education! I learned about her background, what got her into doing this kind of thing, and what her future plans are. I learned how to use my mount and I even got some advice on how to continue to improve the space as I continue to settle in. It wasn't just casual advice -- it was really helpful. If we weren't having fun and talking, the project would've been done much quicker, but I am glad things turned out the way they did. In summary, my time with them in my home was more than just getting my stuff mounted. I learned a lot and I will definitely keep in touch in case I need anything else. And thanks to the work of Chauntese and Joshua, I now have a living room that feels more like home than ever. I have a picture of the finished product to show, but some people on here need to wait until my housewarming ;-).

During the second visit, I stopped asking for cost, just gave a to do list then paid with CashApp when done. Subsequent jobs it was hard to get a response as to day/time. Although he seemed nice at first, after the first visit, felt like he was annoyed by me or something. I brushed it off as resting b-face but then communication became harder. He gave an excuse of phone issues but it seemed to ding and dong when he was here. For today's list I pushed and prodded to get a day/time. I did say that I would be home all day in order to work around his schedule. He said arrival 9:30-10am. Great, errands popped up but I moved somethings around to accommodate his arrival. Well after no show/no call, he rings me at 11:50 to say 12:30-ish. At this point I'm done. Getting a response and day/time commitments wore me out. Why am I chasing behind someone to work? My lists are like $500 each and are less than 8 hours of work. Sadly the professionalism that we started with crumbled and died a slow death.

I was wrong, when I opened the box and saw all those pieces, I knew immediately I had to hire someone for the job. I got on Yelp and came across John's business. I was a little skeptical at first because it says furniture assembly but I decided to message him anyway. Not only did he answer right away but the price was excellent and he could fit me in the next day!! John arrived promptly and went right to work. It didn't take him long before he had the treadmill put together and was working on the bike. He even opened up the treadmill mat and set everything up nicely. He completed the bike in what seemed like seconds and I tested everything out. John was very professional, on time and he answered all my questions with ease. Everything was well put together and he didn't leave a mess behind. I am throughly impressed. Not only is he skilled in assembly but he's sort of a jack of all trades. I explained to him a situation that I was having with the light in the basement and he knew exactly what to do to remedy it. John is officially my go to guy!!
