I want to hire Aleks and Luz to get me ready for every day of my life. I have never looked so good in my entire life. Aleks killed the hair game with her updo- it stayed all night through dinner, dancing, drinks on a boat. She even helped me write my wedding speech. Luz took 40 minutes to turn me into a gorgeous bronze goddess. She gave me cheekbones. She made me glow. I'm maybe a 4 at best but they had me walking out of there like a 15. Julia has helped with our engagement photos , bridal shower , our wedding, and many things I've sprung on her in between usually last minute because I'm a pain like that. Julia's bedside manner (feels like the right word?) whether she is doing hair or makeup is exceptional. She talks to you like a person and wants to help you make the right decision for you. Katey (Hoboken Hair Fairy) is an absolute artist when it comes to her clients' hair. I have been going to Katey for 3 years now for my color and curly cuts and I never leave her chair feeling anything less than my most confident self. She listens to what your vision is with color but also sets realistic expectations based on what is best with your current hair texture and color. Katey also does the BEST blowouts that last all day/night (and I have extremely thick curly hair). 10/10 hair stylist. read more

Lauren is everything. I've been coming here for years to get my hair done. I'd give it 5 stars if it were just for her, my only challenge is it's a little pricey. They do a great job with hair (single process, balayage, cuts, glosses/toners), and I've gotten my make up done here before too for some pretty important events (engagement photos, and my bridal shower)-it's again not cheap but they do a nice job. Lauren has always always always been accommodating to my scheduling needs which I appreciate so much. I haven't had other stylists uptown, but I've seen their work and it's been very good. The only thing I don't really come here for anymore is a blowout, because it doesn't really last for me, so it's not the best investment personally, but I know they have a membership if you're looking for regular blow outs as well. Booked an appointment for my bridal shower for Hollywood waves. I called the salon a couple days prior to confirm my appointment for Hollywood waves and the woman on the phone confirmed. Day of my shower as I'm driving to the appointment, Jessica calls me and tells me she's running late and she won't be able to start my hair 15 minutes later. I told her sorry I need to come in on time to make it to my shower. She then says I'm only schedule for regular curls and can be done in twenty minutes and she wouldn't have time for Hollywood waves. Totally understand if they're running late but they should have other members on the team to help out if this situation occurs. Also they need to update their system as Jessica kept saying I'm only scheduled for regular waves when the lady days before confirmed me for Hollywood waves. Avoid this place or schedule 30 minutes buffer if you need to be somewhere. Very unfortunate to have happened on the day of my shower. read more

I was skeptical after hearing how bad some of the Hoboken hair salons were, but I was pleasantly surprised. Christian was very detailed in asking how I wanted my hair cut and styled. The salon was clean and smelled good. All the employees were friendly even though they were seemingly petty busy. Christian also does color so it's likely I'll return in a few months for a balayage. He took before and after pics of my haircut also. Styled it so well for a party I had the next day! Pricing was what I expected for a women's hair salon. Around $70 for a haircut (I have long hair) and around $180 for full head balayage. read more

I am incredibly disappointed in this salon. I booked them eight months before my bridal shower. I came in for a haircut just to meet the hairdresser I would be working with beforehand. Days before my shower I received a call canceling my appointment because "Christian booked a wedding that same day and would profit more from it." I requested that they help me find another hair dresser or salon that could help me and they failed to. Because of the quality of blowouts here and Niki's kindness, I am updating to 5 stars. :) I want to start off by saying that I receive blowouts frequently, almost weekly, and this spot is definitely the best that I've been to in Hoboken as far as round brush blowouts, however, I'm hesitant to book here because the environment isn't very friendly. I normally book at other salons because of this even though I know my blowout won't turn out as well. So far I've been to the downtown location once and the uptown location twice, and I didn't feel very welcome any of these times. I don't want to go into the details as far as why I feel this way because I don't want to get any stylist in trouble from management, but I did want to point out that the employees here could definitely be kinder. read more

Hair looked like I did it (not impressive ) I should've spoken up but the place I'm just seemed like a low class blow bar and I decided to cut my losses, leave and never return. Meh. I prefer Blo It Out uptown. I waited for several minutes with my neck in the sink, which is a pretty uncomfortable position, without anyone acknowledging that I was there. People just kept walking past or around me. Separately, I booked with Niki but have no idea whether she was the one who actually did my hair - it seemed like there was a scheduling conflict and someone else just stepped in because I didn't get an introduction and there seemed to be a little bit of confusion from the back room near the sinks. Whoever did it was a) incredibly slow to blow dry so that combined with the late start made me late to leave for my event, b) my curls fell out after about 45 minutes, and c) I'm sort of glad they fell out because I got a weird Carol Brady flip on one side so I ended up re-doing my own curls. I would give zero stars to this salon. Starting with Chris! He is the most unprofessional, ghetto, insensitive person I have ever met, he is careless of his clients, while I was there while he was doing my hair there was a client that called to see if they could arrive a little earlier and he was rude on the phone and when he hung up he started talking shit about the customer saying! " she thinks she can do whatever she wants" she is gonna have to wait" who does she think she is? Telling his helper all of that in front of me! didn't care I was listening! Then he did a terrible job! I went in for blond highlights and he did a dark root with low lights!! he needs to go back to beauty school doesn't know anything at all! before I even sat down I showed him the picture from his own insta on how I wanted and he said he could do it! Then he rushed me through the process! the entire time took 3 more customers while he was working on my hair! Took 6 hours and sent me home with shit looking dark hair no highlights and dark stains on my forehead I had to literally ask for something to remove them myself !!! No kidding! and then when I said he needed to do more highlights because I didn't ask for dark brown hair! he said that's all he could do and he blamed it on me! He said "you came late today" and we are closed now! It was 8:30 pm and I had arrived at 2:30 pm! Late 5 minutes! he is a drama Queen he couldn't get over that! and he said that I needed to come back another day if I wanted more highlights m! he said he won't charge me And I even tipped him $60. When I called to advise I couldn't make it to appointment he got mad on the phone! Treated me like garbage and refused to reschedule saying he had a conference and when he said he needed to correct it he said there was nothing to correct when he knew he messed up in the first place!!! worse of all he said I was charged my credit card without my authorization $200 as a no show fee! I told him they never answer the phone when I called how can I cancel if I am unable to speak to anyone! However I got through him and he still charged me! he even brought up I was late the first time! Again!!! they never advised me there is a no show fee of outrageous $200 for something they messed up to begin with, if it wasn't for his petty job I wouldn't had to come back in the first place. I ended up with a petty job!! paid $560 for the low lights I never asked for and tipped the guy 20% on top of it and got charged without my consent $200 for something they said It was a no show when they don't pick up the phone on purpose so they can steal your money. I never gave them consent to save my credit card on their system. these people are fraud!!! They say it's on the website about the no show fee but the website says nothing about it! They are all unprofessional! Hang up the phone on me when I asked to speak with the owner and now they don't answer the phone at all when I call! they must see my phone on their caller id!
