I want to like this bar I really do. Atmosphere has so much potential. Worst bartenders on the planet. Ordered a specialty drink, watched the bartender under pour. (They use a jig) and then didn't garnish per the advertised pic. My friend goes to a different bartender and the drink matches the pic and tastes great. Worst espresso martini I ever had as well. Staying at the hotel, so stopped for a drink. Great views, and nice setting. My wife got a glass of Cabernet-they had a reasonable selection. I got a margarita. Asked the bartender how they made it (check local listings) and he said tequila, lime juice, and oh...Cointreau. I said, Great! Watched him make it. He combined all this ingredients and then it didn't fill the glass, so he added soda, and then slapped and popped in some mint?? I quickly chucked the mint and stirred in the unnecessary soda. It was ok. The servers were otherwise pretty attentive, and most of the patrons were in their 20's or so--we're a few generations older than that, so we're not the target market. The flavor of the ribs were good, but there was very little meat on the ribs and they were in not particularly tender. I was today years old when I figured out that someone could mess up coleslaw. It was pretty bland and what you could taste was a bit bitter. Don't recommend. Drinks were on point. I had the Black Tie Old Fashioned and really enjoyed it. Most people don't go to a place like this for a good dinner, so now worries. If you're looking for a good place to drink with friends and a view of the city, this does the job well. I can never say no to a good rooftop bar! Up Skybar is located inside a bougie hotel in downtown Davenport. Looking for a way to relax in the summer sun, we went on up to the bar and hung around for a bit. The drinks are expensive, being in such a swanky hotel, but they are good. They had a lot of frozen options, and serve them 'Capri-Sun style,' which I loved! The bartender was telling us about different concoctions they've made, so it seems like they always have some new drinks to try. the rooftop area itself is really nice. There are couches and tables all over, with a nice view of the river and downtown. They also have firepits for the colder seasons. We had a great time here! I'd love to come back the next time I find myself in Davenport. read more

This place is great for the views and the awesome drinks! I love that the couches are situated around fireplaces, plus they have blankets to keep you warm when it's chilly too! I've been here twice now - first time was definitely a 5 star review. However, the most recent time the service was frustrating. A young manager named Dylan Ridgeway assumed he knew someone in the party and began cussing at us like "we" our party were friends... oddly enough after the long wait they sat us in a location we mentioned prior... yet we were not to sit @ but stare @ for 35 minutes (empty).... without even a drink I might add! We went to a bartender named Ali @ the main bar for our first and last round. Perhaps the server on the outside corner / back side was new... she was moving slow and had no help... I'm really confused by the whole visit. After sitting @ the location we had already asked for half an hour prior... we then were not once waited on for 30 minutes... we waited.. till the whole party got up and left... we were so hungry.... Perhaps he was too embarrassed to apologize... or even come to our table... ? However this man went out of his way to avoid us and serving our whole party? We saw him just standing and talking to people on the floor... very odd. I understand trying to arrange chairs to make sure everyone feels welcome, but if they are empty or your customers are waiting an hour to just get served... that's a major loss.. 12 people! Improperly Sat 12 customers in a location that was vacant...to later make us wait another 30 minutes and never serve us? That's extremely embarrassing for someone that first greets you as "I'm the manger of UP." As well as cussing while speaking to customers.. you never know who your speaking to. We all learn this lesson in life. I suggest mentoring under someone until you can manage yourself in front of customers and employees who desperately need help in busy hours. read more

I'll average to three. Space is fun. I'm shocked the barkeeps were not able to make a decent old fashioned, I mean, it's a staple. The musician the night I was there was annoying. As far as I know this is the only rooftop spot in the Quad Cities. I could very well be wrong because I do not reside in QC but visit about once a month. My friend showed me UP on a Monday night and it was a poppin spot! Quite a full rooftop for a Monday. The hotel it is located at is also very impressive, incredibly modern, upscale atmosphere. The rooftop overlooks the Mississippi and IL side. There are wide comfy low to the ground chairs surrounding a number of firepits. I had the White Russian which was excellent. My friend had a strawberry martini which she ordered (not on the menu) but was not too tasty unfortunately. read more

Poor Management - the food was good, the views were lovely, the drinks were great, but the management really ruined the experience for us. The kitchen made an honest mistake on a dish and the server offered to leave it at our table and remake it - which is standard practice at just about any restaurant. No harm, no foul, all is well - until the bill came. Apparently the manager (who had just been sitting on a stool doing absolutely nothing the entire time) decided that since we had eaten the mistake that we would be charged for it. The server was obviously embarrassed by this. When the manager came over she absolutely refused to remove it from the bill claiming it was restaurant policy. What restaurant policy should have been was to never take a mistake to a table and offer it to them if you are planning to make them pay for it. Eventually after her making a call to her management it was removed from the bill. If you're going to manage a restaurant, actually manage it. Don't sit on a stool doing nothing until the very end and then fight what few customers you have over a measly $15 on a $130 bill. Hopefully the restaurant fixes the problem and you can enjoy whats otherwise a nice space, with upscale small plates and cocktails, without having to battle a managerial tyrant. read more

We were staying at the current so is to check this out. The view is top notch and lovely. However it didn't feel very clean to me and we sat down at a table for about 15 Mins before giving up and leaving. We did try to just order at the bar but we were told we had to wait for a server to take our order. I think they are just short staffed which is sad. read more

Checked out UP this past weekend after running in the Bix7 and while I really enjoyed the view, the drinks, and meeting new people there was really only one server that seemed to have her act together (Shout out to Haley!) While riding up in the elevator the manager of UP couldn't stop talking about how "slammed" they were. When we arrived, yes the outside was full but the inside was pretty empty. I stood at the bar for at least 10 minutes before finally being told that I should sit and a server would be with us shortly. That server didn't come shortly at all...I had to make three more gestures/eye contact to finally get someone to come over. Again we were told how busy the place was and that they weren't use to that. Seems to me that a bar should know that when their city is host not just one but two big events that weekend that their establishment would be busy! UP didn't seem prepared at all. Plus, the one time I used the woman's restroom there was NO toilet paper in any of the stalls! Thankfully I looked ahead of time and used the tissues that were provided on the counter. Might give this place another go when I'm back in Davenport but I won't be rushing back. read more

Had the worst experience ever encountered at a Marriott Autograph Collection Lounge. We called weeks in advance to notify the bar we were bringing a group of 20. We were told they would be ready for us and have enough staff available. When we arrived and were seated, it took over 30 minutes for everyone to get a drink ordered. The server wasn't able to keep track of what was ordered even though they wrote the drink order down, didn't know alcohol brands and had to be asked over and over what other drinks were still needed. In addition, we had to continue to ask 3-4 times for the same drink to be delivered as they kept forgetting or kept saying the keg blew (same keg multiple times??). Then we ordered food (Probably not a good idea!!) Half way through the group of 20, the server started over because they confused themselves. Then once we all ordered, about half of the food came out. So we had to wait for the rest. Once that arrived, 4 entrees were still missing. It took another 45 minutes for those 4 to arrive. In the end, it took over 2 hours for all entrees to arrive even though we keep telling the server which entrees were still missing. Other issues: Never given silverware, water, condiments (when requested), Server delivered drinks by holding the lip of the glass with their hands (isn't this training 101?!), stopped ordering drinks as we weren't guaranteed they would arrive, drinks are served in plastic drinkware (is this Marriott standards?? - extremely disappointing!) For this to be a Marriott Autograph Collection location, I would hope management trains staff to be a little more efficient and polished. I would also hope Management would communicate with Staff when a large group is planned as they were notified in advance. This was my first visit to this location and will probably be my last as Management was on-site but unfortunately it didn't help as the server struggled the entire visit (over 3 hours). read more

This place is a disorganized zoo...and that is an improvement over what it had been. Way to skyrocket to below average guys! I stopped going to this "boiler factory" under the previous management because the food was awful, the drinks were awful and the service was awful. I had heard it was being managed by more experienced and careful hands, attentive to the kind of detail a lounge/restaurant of the caliber they are pretending to emulate requires. Wrong, wrong, wrong...It is still a horribly mismanaged, chaotic mess serving barely edible food, poorly made drinks which only remotely resemble the real deal and food service so bad you almost wonder if you're on a hidden camera show! Wait times for drinks ranged from 15 to 25 minutes from a bar staff so numerous they were falling over one another. I will give them this much...They were very friendly. However, "friendly" is not experienced or efficient. The bar itself was filthy, floating in spilled drinks, bottle caps, paper, discarded cocktail garnishes, straws, swizzlers and dirty glassware endlessly bused and left on the bar. I was buying premium spirits for myself and my clients and had to literally track down and capture the attention of bartenders so distracted and overwhelmed they looked like moths around a naked light bulb. The seating areas, both inside and outside, were filthy, littered with trash, spilled drinks, food and dirty dish/barware. The glass panels which line the outside seating area were grimy and equally filthy and obviously hadn't been wiped down in some time. Overall, Up Skybar seems to be, or has become, a slightly improved version of the complete disaster it was under previous mismanagement. It is basically a frat house bar masquerading as a high-end lounge. Other than the amazing view, as seen through drink and food smeared glass panels, the only thing truly high-end are the prices...! read more

Really cool place with excellent views of Davenport and Mississippi River. It's the kind of place you take out of town guests to prove that Davenport is a cool place :) It's usually pretty buzzy on the weekends but I've come multiple times with groups and have never had an issue finding seats outside. They have really nice fire pits and blankets that help keep you warm. The staff is attentive and the drinks are good - they have a lot of variety on their drink menu, and I recommend trying out their house cocktails. Overall, a great addition to the QC! Tip: make sure you get a picture with the cow in the lobby! read more

My wife and I had a welcome reception at UP the Saturday night before our wedding and it was incredible! We actually didn't have the space reserved, but I ended up going there a few hours before the reception and gave the bartenders a heads up that we had about 60 people that were going to show up from 7pm to 9pm. The manager was quickly notified and he ended up giving us a spot along the side for our guests. To make things easier for the servers, I had our guests wear color hair ties on their wrists so that the servers would know to put it on one bill. Anywho, all our guests loved the views from the bar and the drinks were reasonably priced. The service was top notch and we would definitely recommend UP for a large party. I will say that our reception was on Memorial Day weekend so it may not have been as busy as other nights. read more

Strike 2. We went to UP Bar shortly after it opened and walked out after 15 minutes when none of the four waitresses working acknowledged that we were there. We gave UP a second try and found that service is still lacking. We had to ask for a waitress to take our drink order. We asked for a drink menu but none exists nor was the waitress able to suggest or recommend any. People near us ordered a beer from the short list the waitress noted but the tap was broken. We had no idea if our mixed drinks were $5 or $15 and waited for our bill to see what drinks cost. Overall poor experience. Beautiful venue and view but the staff is clearly not trained well nor attentive to their customers. One more strike and UP will be off our list of places to go. First impressions are critical. The UP management clearly doesn't get it. Strike 3. We haven't been at Up for many months due to past bad experiences. We were invited to join friends for a late dinner and drinks. The service not only has not improved, its worse! Small number of customers on a Thursday night. Very inattentive staff. We waited for 10 minutes to order then searched for a waitress to re-order. Our order didn't come so we had to go the bar ourselves. Our waitress was chatting with a patron and clearly not engaged with her other customers. Nice views but horrible service. Avoid!! read more

Love the cheese plate highly recommend it, the a1 burger wasnt as good as I thought, get the truffle fries and the wings are great ! My husband and I came here after a baseball game. We saw lights in the skyline and it was like a bat signal calling us to this patio! We had THE BEST TIME! There was a fun band playing, fire pits roaring, craft beer and wine drinking. It was our best night so far this summer! I loved the ambiance! Too bad our bellies were full or we would've eaten too. I highly recommend this bar and next time I am in Davenport, I will stay at this hotel. It is so much nicer than where were staying. I emailed in advance to find out if there were vegan options and the hotel GM wrote back with the menu. The menu doesn't have any vegan options but the fine print states that the chef will accommodate any dietary needs so I went anyway. Once there, the server assured me the chef would make me a large salad with lots of veggies. I was served iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles. This is a condiment tray, not a salad. They couldn't even serve me the fries without the parmesan because they come premade, like frozen fries you can buy at the grocery store. Two days later, I emailed the GM back to tell him what happened. That was over a week ago and I never heard back. I would expect better from an Autograph Collection Hotel. read more
