Stopped to take this picture on highway and ended up taking the tour

After spending the night in Canyon De Chelly we decided to stop here on our way to Page, Arizona and the of May was a great time to tour these Red Sandstone walls carved by water that in time ended up shaping these incredible and picturesque formations in Navajo Nation. Our tour guide was a Navajo older and very friendly lady that did an excellent job, she not only gave a good explanation on the history of the Canyon and took some great pictures of us but also gave me a lecture on photography. It was a 10 minute ride from the place where you buy the tickets to where you meet your guide and from there the whole adventure is under a mile at an elevation of about 4K feet. Natural wonder not to be missed when in the area. Tickets were 55 per person and the whole tour took about 90 minutes. The place is managed by TAADIDIIN TOURS Internet is very spotty throughout Arizona, Utah and Colorado.

Photos are all taken from an upper caynon tour. Check time if year for best view - you'd need sunlight. Highly recommend a tour by the Najavo Nation people. They are knowledgeable and proud to share their culture

Upper antelope canyon was beautiful. Book your tour way in advance and try to book a noon tour so the light hits the canyon at the right time. Regardless of which company you choose, either be way in the front of your tour or hang to the back to try to get some pictures without people

Definitely worth visiting, but your experience will vary based on a number of factors: -Time of year- Apparently there is a good and bad time to go. When it's good, you get the crazy awesome light you see in every photo. When it's bad, that's much harder to come by and parts are very dark. I believe late spring/summer/late summer is best. We JUST missed late summer, so we didn't get that crazy light, though we definitely got some good views. -Tour- Our tour (Tse) was fine. Our guide was much more interested in photography and all of our phone settings than the history of the canyon, so I ended up listening to other guides for most of that information. -Price- This also depends on the time of year, I guess. Bottom line, it's definitely not cheap in any season. Definitely worth going, but be aware of the above when you plan your visit.

Loose Canyon Slot canyon that's comprised of Navajo Sandstone that makes for some of the most spectacular rock formations on earth. The area is in Navajo Nation, and the only way to visit the canyon in person is to book a tour through one of the approved Navajo-owned and operated tour companies. The Good: *The canyon really is quite spectacular and definitely worth the money (if you can afford it, of course). *Our tour guide (I forget her name) was from Antelope Canyon Tours, and she was really nice and helpful with camera tips. It also turns out she was a San José native at one time! #SmallWorld *The trail (if you can call it that) thru the canyon is very short and flat, so feel free to bring your old, young, and achy--they should all be fine. The Meh: *The ride out there and back is dusty and bumpy and really not that fun. *Pricing is a bit obscene for what it is; at the time of our visit (Oct '19), it was ±$60** (including taxes, fees, etc.) but looking right now the price has jumped almost 45% to a whopping $90/per. *Make sure you make a reservation. Do not show up a few minutes before a tour and assume they'll have room for you. There is a slight off chance someone might no show, but don't count on it. The Ugly: *BE AWARE OF THE TIME TO ARRIVE. This seems simple enough, but you must remember that depending on the time of year and where you're coming from, you could be an hour off one way or another. While the state of AZ doesn't adhere to DST (Daylight Savings Time)--Navajo Nation DOES! But the tours run on ***AZ time*** and ***not*** Navajo Nation time, so you can't really rely on your phone for time. Your head spinning yet?? 0_o The easy fix is to switch your phone off automatic time zone and change your location to Phoenix, and you should be all good. TLDR: Fantastic views but at a price. **Pricing is for 8+ years of age. There's a slight discount for 7 or younger

The canyon itself, in all its natural, mysterious phenomena is breathtaking. I could stand for hours and marvel at its beauty, but unfortunately, you're on a tour and time is limited and hurried. You cannot prance into this place willynilly. It is on Navajo land and access is only granted via an official, licensed Navajo guide or touring company. I'll save my thoughts about that for the company review and focus solely on this canyon. Unlike the Lower Canyon, the Upper Canyon required no steps to access it (although there are steps outside when returning to the touring van/jeep). Be sure to follow your guide's tips for getting the best photos. It was cooler in the canyon but not cool enough to need a jacket. The ground can be muddy so wear shoes accordingly. The canyon is really a quick run through. You could probably run through the entire thing in under a minute, but stoping to look up and around in admiration is what we came for, and that takes time. Again, the only downside is that your time is hurried because you're in a group and they're trying to move along because groups are right in front and behind you (they pack them so close together!).

Absolutely beautiful and gorgeous Slot Canyon I'm glad that we selected the upper Antelope Canyon. It was less crowded in March last week and perfect weather. we had beautiful views and mesmerizing. It was a great experience. I will definitely do it again.

Absolutely beautiful and a great experience to see the slot canyon. It is a crowded and popular tour, but we had plenty of photo opportunities and they spaced out the groups enough to see the beauty of it all without being too close to too many people.

Tour all in all was about 90 mins. Our guide was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable about the history of antelope canyon. We went early March and scheduled at 10 am tour time and we got awesome pictures and lightening!

This is indeed a wonderful place. I like the idea going with Navajo guide so that this canyon is protected by any vandalism etc. Tour itself was good and the guide was nice. Only thing is I wish the tour was more focused on admiring the nature rather than taking picture: seeing canyon through phone to take picture.

Wow!!! Just incredible. I beauty is wasted on pictures. Our guide was knowledgeable and took great care of us. I highly recommend visiting Upper Antelope Canyon!

The state of Utah need to make some changes soon because coming from a place where they have learned to live with the existence of Covid, it's quite frustrating to find a lot still closed in April 2021. Not only that, Utah is also very dog unfriendly while I have a hypo allergenic little dog. Colorado and Nevada is so different in that. A lot of driving to find places like this closed and if they are open not dog friendly. I think they just want influencers here.

The Antelope Canyon originally is a place for Navajo people to meditate and a holy place to communicate with the gods of heaven and earth. The tour guides are from the Navajo tribe, and they have accompanied and disciplined with achieved photographers for many years, they become master of lights in the cave or canyon. The name of Antelope Canyon is actually a mistake. The bighorn goat was mistaken for an antelope, hence the name. The beauty of Antelope Valley is that it is lighted completely by natural light, which outlines beautiful curves, and the scenery changes around clock in a day and throughout the year. The Upper Antelope Canyon looks just a crack in the stone from the outside. The our tour guide Aberton is professional to guide tourists to use lights and to find natural beauty. Without Aberton's guidance, many beautiful views would not be seen at all. I followed Aberton's guidance trying to shoot pictures in his direction and angle.

Also note that Page is in the high desert (4300 above sea level)... so the walk could be a little stress on the body if you are not used to the elevation change * This is high desert- so plan accordingly- hydrate and wear sunscreen... and I highly recommend a hat or sunbrella... it comes in handy on the way back as most of the time the sun is going to be directly on you. * Couple shaded seating areas but none at the view point understandably *Dont trust AI on this. Trust your body. Someone told me AI said it was a short 5 min walk... uh no. Maybe a sprint and even then... no. There are tour companies that supposedly get you pretty close ... but not at this exact location and not if you are paying $10 instead of what you will be paying with a guided tour. It is a walk...about 1.5 miles round trip *The path is paved ( hardened sand?) but sandy. Wheelchairs, walkers and crutches are doable... but I would imagine would be hard and you may need some assistance *Puppy friendly - but pack out what your doggy drops. That also goes for general etiquette of packing out any water bottles, wrappers etc that you bring in.

HOWEVER, the parking lot is also pretty aggressive about shaking you down for money, meaning that there are staffed toll booths, and also one way traffic spikes so that if you drive the wrong way your tires get shredded. Like yes, it is important that people should pay, but it is also very unwelcoming. Also, even though they have brought in over $20 million from the fees so far, they can't even bother to stock their vault toilets with hand sanitizer even at the start of the day. Since there's so many visitors, I can only shudder to think of how many people are walking around with fecal hands. Otherwise, a short stroll leads to a cool view point of the canyon, although the water is lower in the canyon.

The day before our tour, Julia called to let us know strong headwinds were expected and asked if we wanted to adjust our time. We already had a different morning tour scheduled, and they were incredibly accommodating with our plans. At the launch site, we met our guide Logan, and we were lucky that it was just our family of four on this tour. Husband and I wore aqua shoes and my daughters opted to wear their Birkenstock sandals and go barefoot, which was fine if you're okay with getting red mud on them. Logan was friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. I was a bit nervous since I'm a beginner kayaker, but he let us move at our own pace. It ended up being a great workout while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The scenery was absolutely stunning. The canyon was quiet, beautiful, and not crowded at all. We paddled across Lake Powell and into the canyon, and the cool lake water felt amazing in the warm end-of-March weather (mid-80s). They provided life jackets, offered bottled water, and Logan even took photos of us both on the water and at the end of the canyon, which we really appreciated. He also shared helpful paddling tips along the way. The entire tour lasted about 2.5-3 hours and was a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. Highly recommend for families and beginners looking for a scenic and well-guided kayaking experience!

Our group completed the kayak and hike which were very much worth it! We needed slight accommodations and Sid and John were reassuring and supportive for both my mom and I. This tour is really for everyone and I can't recommend this tour company and John enough. Because we traveled during off season, we had the entire lake and trail to ourselves. John left much time for us to take cool pictures and was a wealth of knowledge. He made sure to engage with each person in the group and was successful in getting the more shy individuals to step out of their comfort zones. John and Sid (the other employee) made this tour worth it. They provided awesome recommendations for things in the area and also future outdoor related activities in the U.S. Be sure to pack enough water. Remember you are in a kayak and your items will likely get soaked. Luckily they provide one water proof bag per kayak which can hold your phone and camera. If you feel the need to pack more, I recommend that you bring your own waterproof back pack. I opted to go barefoot in the kayak and wear shoes on the hike. You will have to walk through water to get on and off of the boat. Do not let your size and fitness level deter you from this tour. The team is incredibly accommodating and reassuring, making this the perfect tour for all. Highly recommend this tour and either Sid or John!

She said yes but the benefit of using them was they carried the boards down and up a steep hill. We were there on Saturday April 25th. So we rented two paddle boards and she warned us about the winds. It was like $155. She was nice so we went for it. We get to the site and are waiting around. They haven't even taken the boards off the truck, but we were fine waiting. Layla finally made it up the HILL and had 2 boards taken off the truck and laid on the ground. I asked if any of the MANY men who were there and carrying kayaks down, was going to carry them down. She said no, you carry them. And that hill was STEEP. I figured meh, okay. I was annoyed since we were told they'd be ready for us at the bottom. Layla carried my paddle. Once I saw the hill, I was even more annoyed but I already paid $155 plus $30 entry to the lake. When we got to the bottom, she mentioned when we got back I had to carry it back up. I said I'm not doing that. lol. She held my leash so I could climb on my board. Not an easy task where we were. The paddle boarding was rough but we knew that, the girls at the office warned us. 5 miles later we returned. I STRUGGLED getting off the board and trying to haul it up by myself, my body was shaking and I was visibly exhausted. A young man who worked for this place, WATCHED me struggle. Asked how it was, I said it sucked. He mentioned me carrying the board up that steep hill, while I was shaking from exhaustion and out of breath, and I said "I'm not doing that" and he replied with "why is it heavy?" I did carry my life jacket and paddle...but after that comment I REALLY didn't want to. Layla gave me a water at the top and said to take a breath, I was breathing very heavy. I'd say don't rent paddle boards. You will have to carry them up and down the hill and will get no assistance getting off the board either. But they did carry the kayaks and help those people who also paid like we did, in and out of the kayaks. So maybe rent those and not the paddle boards.
