For the past couple of months, I've been feeling intense pressure in my right ear, and it got to a point where I couldn't sleep due to the pain. My mother in law usually has an answer to everything so of course, I reached out to her for any advice she could give. That's when she recommended I see Dr. Hall. I hesitantly went in for my consultation and honestly had my reservations. First of all, chiropractor as a remedy for ear pain? What? On top of that, Dr. Hall explained to me that damage or trauma in the upper cervical area can be tied to depression, fatigue, insomnia, pretty much everything. Of course, I had my doubts but something kept telling me to just purchase the package and give it a go because the ear pain was becoming unbearable. After my first adjustment, I was told I'd feel extremely exhausted. That didn't happen so I began to feel a little nervous. Did I just make a grave mistake? However, lo and behold, after my second visit, I began to notice my ear pain reducing by the day. I believe I got adjusted about 3 times in the first 2 weeks alone and although the healing time was slow, there were major improvements. I wish I had documented every visit along with the improvements, but nonetheless I just finished my 2-month visit 2 weeks ago and the pain in my right ear is completely gone. Skeptical and Amazed are two words that describe my experience with upper cervical. Skeptical because it sounds too good to be true. Amazed, because it actually worked. The procedure is simple. All they did was apply a small force to my neck and all my problems started to work itself out. I experienced all sorts of issues starting from the mental to the physical. The physical changes were the most noticeable. I had a lot of pain in the lower back, shoulder, neck, knee, and pelvic area. The pain ranged from muscle related to joint related. Upon my first treatment my lower back and shoulder pain started to subside immediately. I was able to finally sit without having to get up frequently due to lower back pain. Not only that, I had trouble with sleep and brain fog, but for some reason those things started to clear away as well. It was odd how a small adjustment could fix those things. So a quick story on my first day. I was driven to the carson location. During the car ride, I experienced a pain level of 7/10 (10 being very bad). The pain in my lower back and shoulder did not let me sit properly in the car. Getting in and out of the car and walking to the office was very difficult. I received my treatment and it was not until I got in the car that I realized I was sitting without pain. It was all strange to me. I don't really believe in magic and Upper Cervical seemed like one of those hocus pocus tricks that would never work, but guess what, it worked for me. Mind you this. I've been going to UCHC for about 5 years now and I can't sing their praises enough! I tried traditional chiropractic for almost a year - $1,500 later I was worse than I ever was before. I knew and my chiropractor knew at the time that there was a spot in my lower back that just wouldn't align but no matter what he tried it could just never get it to pop out and back into proper alignment. Eventually I gave up going because I couldn't afford to just get worse. Fast-forward another two years or so and we're to the time when I met Drew & Beth and UCHC. When I first went in my lower back pain had gotten so bad that I couldn't stand being on my feet for more than an hour. My boyfriend was sweet enough at the time to give me massages every day but nothing seemed to help - 15 minutes later I'd be back in pain again. Even with my previous negative experience with traditional Chiropractic I really liked their method of specific of specific tests leading to adjustments as opposed to the "twist you every which way until you hear a noise" which is how I see traditional chiropractic nowadays :) I went in for my first appointment and like another reviewer said - they're not cheap. They do require that you pay for the needed x-rays and first month (two months? I can't remember now) of service up front. I was desperate for a solution though so I bought in - and I am soooo glad I did! Now I will admit right after the first appointment you kind of feel gypped :) They take x-rays, perform a few various tests and then if you're out of alignment comes the adjustment. Coming from traditional chiropractic I expected something more than what was the equivalent of a firm tap behind my ear - no where near my lower back where my pain actually was. I went and rested for awhile and then left feeling not much different than when I arrived. More money down the drain I guess :( But later that evening was when the magic happened. I had been twisting and turning on the back of my chair for years trying to get something, anything to happen. Then that night for the first time in years as I twisted in the back of my chair I could feel every vertebra from the bottom to the top of my spine crack one after the other as it someone was running their fingers along the keys of a piano. For the first time in years I finally felt some form of relief! It was temporary of course, but I knew I was on the right track! So I kept it up and a few months later I was 85% better. (At least now I understood why they want you to pay for a month or two in advance - they know that it takes that long for results and they don't want you to give up prematurely.) As time went on I was holding my adjustment for longer periods of time and I dropped the frequency of my visits from multiple times a week, to once a week, to a few times a month, to once a month, etc. Can I say I'm totally pain-free today? No - but I am 95% better than I was Is the reason I'm not 100% better mostly my fault? Yeah, probably :) I still go to their office a few times a year when I feel especially bad and honestly if I was better at going (say every two months or so) I'd probably be much better off than I am. But with being 95% better I'll admit, I just get busy and don't make the time to go unless I'm actually in real pain. In a way this is a blessing and a curse. I went from having so much pain on a daily basis I'd do anything to get better. Now my pain is so infrequent and minimal that when it does "flare up" it's not even bad enough to warrant me finding time to get rid of it :) I'd highly recommend Drew & Beth at UCHC to anyone. I can't even begin to explain how much I regret not coming sooner. I've lived in the LA area for over 4 years now and was referred to Dr. Drew Hall by my previous upper cervical Chiro! I have been a massage therapist for over 11 years and worked for an amazing upper cervical Dr. in central Cali for 6 years, needless to say the past week has been extremely excruciating; between severe back and neck flare ups and chronic headaches sleepless nights and 5 hours of body work in less than a week I knew immediately it wasn't muscular. Here's my quick story. I've been suffering from chronic neck and shoulder blade pain for years. It's been a difficult journey to say the least. Dr. Hall changed my life!!! I've had chronic back pain for 20 years. I went to Dr Hall a month ago for a severe left hip problem that's giving me difficulties to walk, sit and even simple acts which requires bearing weight on each leg like wearing my pants or wearing shoes gave me a lot of pain. Getting an appointment to an ortho doctor takes time and because the pain was severe, I decided to go to Dr Hall. I was also having problems with severe itchiness and rashes in my whole body (I was diagnosed with having Dermatitis) during that time. After my first visit, Dr Hall adjusted me and after a few days , the severe pain in my left hip went away. And after a few adjustments, the itchiness subsided. I have had severe back, neck and shoulder pain for the past ten years. I went to a great chiropractor for 4 years and my issues improved greatly, however, I had to get adjusted 2-3 times per week for it to make an impact. I set out on a mission to find a more permanent solution that did not require me to have to be adjusted so frequently. Thank God I found Dr. Drew. At the initial consultation Dr. Drew takes X-Rays and thoroughly explained what Upper Cervical chiropractic care entailed. He quickly assessed the problem, made one adjustment to my neck with an instrument and immediately everything in my body started falling in line. I was changed and felt 100% better. During each subsequent visit Dr. Drew takes a scan (no x-ray) of the neck and does a brief physical examination to determine whether or not an adjustment is needed. If no adjustment is needed, then that means the last adjustment held and no further adjustment is needed during that visit. As Dr. Drew always says, "Holding is Healing". As you progress your body will tell you when you are out of alignment and need an adjustment. I can now go about 6-8weeks without needing an adjustment and it is only getting better. I was having really bad dizzy spells for about a year and tried numerous treatments but nothing had seemed to work. A friend had recommend that I go see Dr. Hall so I gave it a go back in May 2013. Dr. Hall had found that my upper atlas (in the neck) had been knocked out of place. At first I was going in for adjustments with him every week because my situation was really bad but after a couple of months I started to get adjustments over longer periods of time and then the dizzy spells started to slowly go away. It has been a year now since I first started seeing Dr. Hall and I have not had a dizzy spell in 6 months. I still go in once a month for checkups and the occasional adjustment. Miracle after forceps delivery We're writing this review to encourage other parents to get their little ones checked. Dr. Hall aligned our baby girl and she came alive. We even didn't see what was "wrong" with her until after the alignment. Her delivery was dramatic, beside other problems she wasn't lying correctly and had to be pulled out with forceps. Shortly after her delivery her left side of her face looked asymmetrical compared to the right side. Her eye was closed and looked bruised , her lip was hanging down and her entire face didn't show any expressions. The symptoms got better within the first month of her life. Still, she was a tiny peanut and could barely open her left eye. Of course, we loved her unconditionally and she has always been the prettiest girl in the world for us! But obviously things weren't all right. My mother in law is a patient of Dr. Halls for a while now and set up the appointment for us. An alignment seemed to make sense especially since she preferred her right side and always leaned her neck / head on that side. At first Dr. Hall checked her legs. The left leg was more than 1/2 inch shorter. What a shock!!! Then, the second Dr. Hall softly touched her neck, her eyes popped up and the left eye was as open as it has never been before. The next hours the ate non-stop and became stronger every since. When we compare pictures of her from now and then, she looks so healthy - perfect. My journey with Dr. Hall has been an eventful one. I came into his office after a hiking trip with a number of neurological issues: occipital neuralgia, general facial pain, spasms, and numbness, cervical dystonia, migraine, vertigo/noise sensitivity/light sensitivity. I was a wreck to say the least. I caught wind of his office by searching through reviews just like this. I figured I had tried most medical options (which I still continue with to this day, don't get me wrong), but it was time to take a leap of faith. I went to his office with low expectations. He was energetic and supportive, but the thing I appreciated the most was that he had heard mostly everything I had told him before. These symptoms I experience were not foreign to him (like they can be with some neurologists I see), and we figured out a plan of action. He adjusted me on the first day (no popping, cracking, etc), and I swear that my symptoms over the course of that day and the next went from like a 8/10 to a 1/10. No medicine had provided me with this drastic of improvement and so quickly. It was as bizarre as it was amazing. Of course, nothing is that easy, and the symptoms slowly crept back over the course of the week but through his initial plan you meet with him twice a week to make sure you're holding adjustment. Because of my dystonia, the adjustment has been harder to hold than the average patient, but I just remind myself of how much my symptoms are decreased by our appointments. Also when my symptoms begin to flare up for whatever reason, his adjustments consistently seem to "bail me out" of these episodes. It's such a blessing to have this resource. He continually refers to my recovery as a dogfight and that it is. Because of the interaction of my problems, this has not been the speediest of recoveries. I wish I would have found Dr Hall 12 years ago when I started showing signs of Ménière's disease. After a couple of months some of my hearing is starting to come back. My pain started about 20 years ago, when I was in my 40's, in my upper back, shoulders and neck. Every day I tried to just live with it, hoping it would go away. It didn't. In my 41 years of life, I've generally been a healthy active person. Days after Christmas 2017, my neck started to have sharp pain. The pain then went down my left shoulder blades, through the scapular area then down my left arm. Then my left arm went numb...It was a type of chronic pain I've never experienced before! Days later, my left ear was clogged and I couldn't hear clearly... the symptoms are worse than labor pains!!!! And I have 3 kids! I immediately went to a medical doctor and they ran tests to make sure it wasn't a stroke. They wanted to prescribe me prescription medication, however, I refused. I was miserable! It disturbed my sleep, I was starting to get irritable & depressed. I was wondering if I was going to live like this and adjust my entire life... I was then advised to see an orthopedist. They did an MRI and diagnosed me with Cervical Stenosis and Radioculoparhy. I was given 4 options: 1) Live with the pain 2) Figure out how to manage the pain 3) Do some epidural type treatment 4) or surgery where they would infuse a metal plate to keep my vertebraes spaced out so that it wouldn't pinch my nerves. Immediately, I scheduled with Dr. Hall for my second opinion. After my first visit and adjustment, I was able to sleep that night. The pain was there, however, the intensity wasn't as high. Dr. Hall also made sure for me to NOT take any ibuprofen..so the next 2 days, I went without taking the ibuprofen. That night, the pain was starting to get intensify again, however I resisted taking ibuprofen because I knew I was going to see Dr. Hall that day. The next morning until my appointment, the pain had decreased. I didn't need any adjustments made. Dr. Hall was very thorough and explained how we have to give our bodies time to heal and that it'll fluctuate.... It has been only 4 days since I started treatment with Dr. Hall, and honestly, I'm starting to see light at the end of this tunnel... I have hope that this pain will go away. I can honestly say that my pain is about 85% gone!!!! I am left speechless, yet again. I know of Dr. Hall because he treated my son when numerous doctors just wanted to prescribe him dangerous prescription drugs for his Post Concussion Syndrome.... however, that's a whole other review to write about :) When you walk into his office and sit in the lobby, you'll see a sign. Dr. Hall is an amazing upper cervical chiropractor. I was having really bad vertigo episodes, fatigue, and brain fog almost everyday.
