Wow!! I just read some of the reviews and it's like I was blown away by a different place!!! My experience was the most pleasing new truck purchase we have ever made. I called LATE on a Monday afternoon and Van answered the phone and we discussed a truck they had for sale. He took his time explaining everything and gave me a price including all the very reasonable cost. Next morning I received text with the quote written on a copy of the window sticker, I found this odd but simple and straightforward. I text him the terms on the loan we needed on Wednesday afternoon we received the loan information from Josh with something better than requested. Shocked Again! My wife signed the E-Documents on Thursday afternoon. NO CHECK written yet. We drove 250 miles and arrived at 8:45am we were EXCITED! Christian spent a very patient 15 -20 minutes with us (he was not involved in the deal but we were so very early). We were getting ready to leave and we realized we forgot to give them a check and we ran inside to meet Josh give him the 5,000 check and thank him for the GREAT job he did and left after a total time of 30 minutes!! I've been trying for two days to get a price on a new set of Wrangler tires for my F150. The three times I called, I was directed to Service by a call director, and left voice messages three times with a call back number. Crickets!! I tried to do an online chat and had the pleasure (not) of cheating with probably a bot. Took my name, phone number and email address. I then received an email stating that someone would be in contact as soon as possible. Again Crickets!! I then called back and asked for the General Manager, and yes it put me through to his voice mail. I left him a voicemail with my name and phone number. No callback yet. It's no wonder that Upper Marlboro Ford only has a two star rating but then again, almost all of the car dealerships have poor ratings. Reading the reviews, we were cautious buying a vehicle here. However, they had the vehicle we were looking for, for a fair price. Finance lady Shelly saved the day by returning my phone calls and making the deal go through. I made it clear & understood that we were very limited on time picking up the vehicle, had no time to waste. Upon arrival, all paperwork was ready, vehicle was prepared. It only took us half an hour, and we were on our way out. They were very efficient for us and we definitely appreciated it!! I recently took my 2024 Ford Edge to the Upper Marlboro Ford dealership for Routine maintenance. I was told that I needed to purchase a new battery. I advised the representative that the car was less than a year old and that I had a warranty. She returned saying that it was under warranty. However, I no longer needed a new battery. Miraculously, my battery was fine after a charge. She could not tell me how long the charge would last and that I could not get a battery under the warranty because it was working. I believe this to be a deceptive business practice to get me to pay for a new battery. The service was horrible. After I was told that my car was ready for pick up. I went to the door for them to bring it out. It took 45 minutes to bring the car out. I went back inside and I also saw the mechanics taking the bottom pan of my car off. The mechanic said he had dropped a piece of his tool in the card just in case I heard as noise. read more

Please pack your patience, and please eat before you come. The problem is that the process is long and slow. The staff was friendly and helpful and professional. I'll like to mention Mark who was very helpful when it came to explaining the many new technology features of the vehicle. Mr. Woodson worked well with us and was able to respect our budget. He also was very kind , for after sitting with an empty stomach he was kind enough to provide a snack.The key is to come prepared and with a budget and all your ducks in a row. The biggest downside was sitting through the offers that we had no plan of accepting .(those useless extended warranties). That was when my patience hit its boiling point. I agreed on a price for a used Ford Maverick. I sent them a picture of drivers license to hold the truck. They told me I've locked in on this truck. I was driving from North Carolina to the dealership and was one hour out they called me and said they just sold the truck. I would never expect this from a large Ford Dealership. I had a great experience here at Upper Marlboro Ford! I had a lot of problems with my new SUV I bought in another state and was close to getting rid of it. Trinity was extremely friendly and welcoming with the service department. She set me up to get my truck looked at to figure out the problem and contacted me through the whole process with updates. She is truly one of the best Ford service writers I have come across! Then David, one of the mechanics made the whole experience great too. He worked really hard to figure out what was going on with my vehicle. He communicated very well and went the extra mile to help me. Again, one of the best mechanics I have had, he truly cared about my vehicle and fixing it, he communicated more then any mechanic I have had. Terrible place to get maintenance. Paid $250 for the diesel package and all they did was change the oil. No fluids topped off and did not even rotate the tires. I mark my tires always to make sure. Had a few phone tag calls from the manager after a bad review , but nothing ever settled. I heard Annapolis Ford is the place to go. I will check it out next time and see if it is any better. I should've have checked the reviews before trusting this dealer with my vehicle for maintenance repairs. I took my vehicle in for recalls and was told that all the work would be completed within a couple of days. Lies. It has been well I've a week and the work still has not been completed. This wouldn't be a problem if it has been communicated to me - however, you have to call several times, deal with excessively long holds and rude staff to get any information about your vehicle. The staff is rude, unprofessional, unresponsive and uninformed. Clearly, the "manager" needs to retrain the staff - starting with herself. Never again. If you need maintenance do yourself a favor and take your vehicle to Annapolis. They are polite, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. read more

Here is the break down of the issues I have with company (Upper Marlboro Ford) since ordering my 2021 Mach E Mustang. In March 2021 : I began shopping around dealerships for this car. I learned that various dealerships were adding an addition 10k on top of the MSRP ($62,250). This didn't make sense because, when it's time to sale the car, I would/could be 10k + in the hole and that would roll over into the next car. Therefore when I discovered Upper Marlboro Ford they guaranteed that they would not add any additional fees for the car. I placed my order and submitted a $500 Order Deposit. In June 2021, I was contacted again and informed that I need to submit an additional $500 deposit for the down payment. I complied. * In October 2021. After paying for the car and driving off the lot, didn't feel good about the transaction and began reviewing the paper work. I discovered that the $500 order deposit and $500 dwn payment was never subtracted from the price of the car. I also discovered that the dealership added an addition $2500 to the price of the car and deceptively worded the charge therefore I didn't catch it immediately. The also deceptively charged me an additional $1100 freight fee that was already included in the MSRP. In November 2021, I contacted the dealership to inquire and they told me that it was Ford's Marketing Department responsibility to refund that money for the deposits. As far as the other fees their response was "well you signed it". They refused toput me in contact with the General Manager or the Finance Manager. I called the marketing department and they informed me that the dealership is responsible for refunding the money. For the remainder of the month and December I was continually received the run around and the dealership refused to provide a refund. I filed several complaints from the Ford Headquarters and did not receive any assistance. As for the car, it does not charge to its advertised potential. When accelerating from a stopped position, there is an unlatching sound and slight jerk similar to an roller coaster. It take a full charge to drive 70 miles ( DC to Baltimore and back). It's a shame that this world lacks honest people. Do not shop at this dealership and do not buy the car. It's totally not worth it. read more

Upper Marlboro Ford--NOT! The initial experience of going and looking for a car was made pleasant by our excellent Salesperson, Vernell. The purchase APPEARED SMOOTH, initially handled by Gezel. Well, then it becomes a nightmare and I had to make constant calls and I mean almost every day for nearly a month. Now, we approach the time for the first payment and nothing is finalized. I start calling the Educational Systems' Credit Union and they know nothing about me. Now, Gezel and her Manager, Shelly need more paperwork and verifications. Also know that during this entire time, I left at least five (5) messages for the General Manager who absolutely ignored my calls and refused to return the calls. Several times, I explained the problem in the voice messages that were left for the General Manager. Now, as of today, a month later, my loan is still not finalized--my first payment had to be made directly to Upper Marlboro Ford. They can fumble an experience. I have wondered since I have excellent credit, what happens to the ones that don't! Not a great overall experience, not recommended unless you need Vernell's assistance in finding an inexpensive car that is low miles, in excellent condition and prefer to pay cash. They do not stand behind the cars they sell. I purchased a used car and it wasn't driving right. Unfortunately my husband was having much more critical issues with his car. When we were finally finished taking care of his car we brought my car to our mechanic and he discovered several problems. I called, sent the write up from our mechanic, and was ignored. I finally got ahold of my salesperson, conveniently, after my 30 day warranty had just run out. He refused to do anything about the issues with my car. The repairs that are needed are in the $2,000 range. Having just purchased this car, I do not have that kind of disposable cash on hand. For a number of reasons I do not use credit cards. This will be the third car we have purchased from this dealership. The first time under the current ownership. we now live over an hour away. They are professional while they are trying to make the sale. But once they your money and your signature all customer service goes out the door. I would never recommend this dealership. And the warning I would give is, buyer beware! They are the perfect stereotype of what used car dealerships are. They give dealers a bad name. Find anywhere else to go to purchase a car! It was a terrible experience. I am currently driving an unsafe vehicle. I really don't understand how they sleep at night. They are the epitome of the charlatan, sleazy used care dealership. I had found a vehicle on the online inventory website. Was contacted by the salesperson. I asked about and was told the price online is correct. I drive 60 miles to see the vehicle. The salesman said the car was for sale. Had to wait to test drive since the staff took the vehicle to pick up some chicken. Gave the sales person car title, and filled out credit application. Went for test drive and was ready to complete purchase. The salesperson says sorry it's a loaner not for sale. Should've said that long before I had to drive 60 miles for the vehicle. I even waited a week after Thanksgiving to take it because when I first stopped; the Service Manager said they were booked up. I left it and got a call that it was ready so I had it picked up. When I got home from work, I found the problem had not been fixed. I emailed the manager and got no response. I called the following morning and spoke to him; he said the Technician said it was fixed. His advice -- drive it around and if it still has a problem, drop it off later in the week! Buy the Ford Mach-E, But Not From Upper Marlboro Ford After purchasing a $55k car from UMF, I endured three months of excuses and runarounds to fix my car, that could have been prevented if UMF, where I purchased the car, had taken my complaint seriously and had simply video-taped the cargo door not working and sent it to Ford. That experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth about UMF service for it's premium vehicles sold. Except for not taking me seriously, there was no reason why UMF couldn't have video-taped the key-less cargo door not closing consistently and sent it to Ford, as Waldorf Ford had done, when I first complained, three months ago, on the day after I purchased the car. Ford responded within three days to WF's video tape of the cargo door not working and ordered it fixed by replacing the module that controls the cargo door. On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, I asked Mr. Nelson what could UMF do to ameliorate the duress and anxiety I have endured for three whole months to get my new car repaired. Mr. Nelson pardoned himself and came back about 15 minutes later to tell me that after consulting UMF's GM, and that it would do nothing to address the duress and anxiety I suffered for three months to get the new car fixed. Mr. Nelson said that I should take my issues up with Ford, even though I bought the Ford from his dealership. I love my Ford Mach-E, except for its cheesy carpet and hidden cabin USB port. People stop me almost daily and ask about my new car. I tell them I love the car; I wish I had done the research and purchased it from Waldor Ford or another dealership other than UMF. read more

This a second review for a reason, please read. I spoke to a sales person and sales manager over the phone throughout an entire day to make a deal on a truck. By the time came to an agreement, it was ending business hours. The sales manager, Marcus, advised me to fill out the credit app and they would wrap up the deal the following day. When the following day arrived, I heard nothing from the dealer all morning and eventually called to ask the salesperson what the status was. She advised the the truck was currently on a test drive and most likely being sold. When I inquired ho this was so since I agreed to purchase it the night prior, she said that's what she was being told by her sales manager (different one as Marcus was off this day). I requested to speak to the manager and he was completely useless and rude. He advised me that they work on first come first serve so the truck would be sold to the individual driving it. When I explained that I had worked a deal the night before he had nothing to say and didn't care. I was eventually advised that the person test driving the vehicle is buying it and I explained to the manager that this is poor business practice, I had a deal on the vehicle and he shouldn't do that. I also suggested that since they messed up that perhaps they could assist in getting me into a similar truck. The manager didn't care to hear any of this and that concluded day two of dealing with this terrible dealer. On day three I called to speak with the original manger, Marcus, to ask if he was made aware of what happened. He advised that he was, was apparently told that no one from the dealer was to speak with me and that he was scheduled to have meeting with the general manager regarding the situation. He further advised that the truck was never sold and still available. When I asked about continuing the deal he advised me that he couldn't because his gm was upset over a poor review I have the day before. On the day prior (when it was "sold" from under me), Ford had sent me an email asking how my experience was with the dealer and i answered it honestly, not good. He further stated to me that lawyers were mentioned so he was no longer allowed to speak with me. I advised Marcus that the reviews were made based on an honest review and he agreed with everything i said regarding it. I told him that I would remove all reviews and we could continue the deal. The lawyer came into play when they spoke to my wife, who's a lawyer, on the day the sold the vehicle. At some point in conversation with the sales manager he was essentially stating we didn't know what we were talking about and my wife advised she is a lawyer and understands how transactions work. It was a simple meaningless statement. Marcus replied that he would relay this all to his gm. After speaking with the gm, Marcus advised me that I had to wait to hear From the gm directly before any thing could happen. Throughout the duration of the afternoon I heard nothing. It wasn't until day 4 when I reached out to Marcus to inquire and was advised that the gm and the owner were refusing to do business with me. They refused to sell me a vehicle (typically wouldn't be a big deal except you can't find any right now) because I have a bad review that was honest due to them sucking and "mentioned lawyers". This dealer is a joke and shady. There are plenty more Ford dealers out there that blow this one away. If you do have to deal with this one, deal with Marcus. He seems to be the only decent one there. read more

a sad useless ford sales location. I stopped taking my car there for service when i found out they weren't even doing the services i asked for them to do. Tire rotation? In the 3 years i took my car there, and asked every time to have the tires rotated per service recommendations, they never did it. So never again to this rip off service center. All they said was "sorry". Then i went to cancel my premium service plan, which of course they weren't following or doing, and months later found out they never cancelled it, and continued to bill me 30 dollars a month. I called my husband to pick me up. I took an Uber back to pick up my vehicle. Once I arrived I learned I could have gotten a ride home and a ride back. Unfortunately, Heather never mentioned the perks offered by this Ford on Crainhighway. In fact Heather wrote/typed someone name Kelly instead of Kim on my receipt. I called to inquire and she rushed me off the phone stating you have the right vehicle. Shame on Heather. I asked to speak to a manager and Heather said he wasn't there call on Monday. Smh. I called on Monday and no response. I called a week later today and I was told the manager doesn't sit at his desk leave a message. Still no response . The Ford Dealershp Service departments Sucks! Or maybe I should say the mechanics. I wish I could give them a negative zero. My ford explorer sensors and backup camera stop working and I had a recall on the display system. Ok. Well I take my SUV to them and they tell me they have to order the part. Cool, so I though. I wainted 2 weeks and finally called and was told my part had been there for awhile. Ok how would I know this if you never informed me that the part was there. So we make an appointment for 3 to 4 days later. We go on a Friday the day of our appointment and guess what, they didn't have me listed for an appointment because the girl who was waiting us got fired. I'm thinking "huh," what are you talking about. This is after the had my payment of $300 down and $400 when they complete the job. So we had to wait another week to get an appointment. We drop SUV off on Thursday night and today is Friday. I've waited all day and finally called at 5:15pm to ask about my SUV. I was told that the computer shut down so they were testing it and my SUV should be ready before they close. Ok cool. So I thought. We get there pay the $400 balance get my paperwork bring the SUV home and guess what!. My damn sensor or backup camera still is not working. It's as if they didn't do anything after they took my $700. All they did was change my radio station and disable my Sirius radio. I'm pissed and mad as hell. It's sad to think the the Ford Dealer in Upper Marlboro is just that bad. It sucks. I guess I have to do like everyone else and go to the Ford Dealer in Waldorf and get some real service. The manager on duty today then said the price was going to be $5k MORE than the agreed upon price! There was no confusion on what was agreed to. My car was towed to this location because my key fob stopped working and my car would not start because the anti-theft couldn't be disabled due to me not being able to unlock my car with the key fob. I ask to have my keys or née key fob programmed to my care would start. After taking my car to the shop on Monday morning, I had to call and get an update on the status of my car. I was told the mechanic was gone for the and to call back the next day. This is after being on hold for 30 minutes. Called the next day to get a status update and was told my sales rep was off and to call back the next day to get an update. After refusing and asked if someone else can give me an update, I was told the my keys were reprogrammed and that my car is starting, but the check engine light is on and the mechanic want another day to figure out why the check engine light is on. My truck wasn't in the shop for a check engine issue, and my check engine light wasn't on prior to going to the shop. Never received a call that my car was ready for pickup. I went to the shop to pick my truck and they had to locate my paper work. Waiting 20-25 minutes for the paper work. When I got in my car the cover for the fuses was on my seat. While driving home I notice my hood bouncing from the wind. My hood was not closed all the way. Truck was in the shop for 3 full days to only have my keys programmed to start my car. Never got a new key fob, which is what I really wanted. I don't plan to return to this shop for service in the future. read more

It has take me some time to write this review. I want to express my complete dissatisfaction with this service department. I have now had SEVERAL displeasing encounters with them. The first was earlier this year when I brought my vehicle in for an oil change. The service writer informed me that I needed new brakes, then while checking me out had my vehicle confused with another customer. He had to go into the bay to get the two figured out. My check engine light had come on that morning, the service department not only did not notice it they did no diagnostics to see what was wrong. In June I brought it in for that light. I was told that my intercooler assembly was leaking and had external damage, it would cost me $2,120.00 to fix as it was not covered under warranty.  I told them I would take it to my own person for repair. Not only did my mechanic not find a leak there is NO DAMAGE on my intercooler. In other words if I had decided to use Upper Marlboro Ford I would be out over two thousand dollars and my vehicle still would not be repaired. The incompetence of this service department angers me and makes me wonder how many people are taken advantage of by this dealership.  Do NOT take your vehicle there. Carrie Snoots read more

Abridged: 3.5 hours for an oil change. Full story: We recently purchased a vehicle from upper Marlboro ford. With it, we were given 4 free oil changes. GREAT! Or so we thought. Time came. We called to make an appointment; we were told one wasn't needed. Just bring in the car and they would fit us in and it would take 1hr and 20 mins WITH a complementary car wash. So we dropped off the car at 10:45am. Came back at 1pm.... "Oh, we havnt started yet....it will be done in 45min."....ok.... we will go get lunch. Return at 1:45 then sit in the waiting area till 2:30.... and they finally finish... the oil change. We were then asked if we wanted to wait for the COMPLEMENTARY car wash.... and being we had already wasted most of the day, we graciously declined. Somehow... we were the last people to leave ....after they had closed for the day. Oh, and after all that... they tried to charge us for the oil change. (Come on.... all of this isn't rocket science) I would NOT recommend their service dept. Admittedly, buying the car was much less of a pain, but once you dish out that $30,000 the service drops off. read more

I called Upper Marlboro Ford to see if the had a replacement battery for my truck in stock. I advised the parts employee that my battery was just over 1 year old and was under warranty. The parts employee advised that he had several replacement batteries in stock. I arrived at Upper Marlboro Ford parts counter at 3:30 pm. The parts manager Ray Davis advised that they would have to test the battery and it could take 1 to 3 hours. One of Ray's employees advised that they would not test the battery today because they closed at 5:30pm. I told them to test the battery or replace it and they refused. I will be contacting upper management since they refused me service. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. read more
