I've gone to this customer center for many years, and always had excellent experiences, whether sending a package or showing up between 8 pm and 9 pm to pick up one I'd arranged to have left there after a problem getting it at my door. Two employees there in particular (one recently retired) were so pleasant to deal with that, over years, I got to consider them to be friends. One thing that helped my experience is that I have my commonly used UPS "send to" addresses, and my return address, in the system, allowing me to quickly select a recipient and fill out a screen at the center, get a little optically read-able sticker, and get processed very quickly. read more

Another one star review that would be zero if possible. They attempted the delivery at 1135am when the window provided was 4-7pm. I was out walking my dog. Would have been here if 1135 was anywhere close to the window provided. When I called and complained, they said they would reattempt the delivery. I so, the fool, sat around for 7 hours waiting for the reattempt. I saw the ups truck pass my house twice during that time but no second attempt was made. The fact that I can only reach customer service in another country is infuriating. There is no recourse, no consequences for the complete lack ineptitude. There appears to be some sort of discrepancy in the specific delivery timeframes sent via email and your drivers' route times. My email updates said delivery between 2-6pm today 12/28. Your driver "attempted" at 11:57am, 2 hours prior to the timeframe given. Your driver didn't leave a Notice of Rescheduled Delivery. I found out via email. After speaking with Customer Service, I received a call from someone at the San Pablo facility who didn't provide a name. I googled the phone number this person called from and it took me to this Yelp page. I told this person there is no Notice for Rescheduled Delivery on my door and was told that they will send the driver back to my address. Your driver never came back. Now my rescheduled delivery date is 12/30 from 9:15am-1:15pm, so who knows if your driver will show up during that timeframe or 2 hours before. Your emailed delivery timeframes and drivers' route times need to be looked at by higher management, along with some sort of re-training on leaving a Notice for Rescheduled Delivery because I didn't receive one and found out via email. The Customer Service rep I initially spoke with tried to justify that the driver "did their part" and "made an attempt", but didn't leave a Notice for Rescheduled Delivery, so not completely upholding their end of delivering the package. This review is for UPS over all...my package was delayed for week and a half. Everyday it was loaded on the truck and everyday it went back to the distribution center. So picking it up myself was the only way i was guaranteed to get my package. I had to drive across the Carquinez bridge and pay toll for something that was supposed to be delivered to my door. For the icing on the cake the facility doesn't open until 2pm (2-6) so if you work a 9-5 Mon-Fri good luck and not only that I had to wait in line for an hour before I got my package. read more

UPS's service is absolutely horrible. They often say they attempted to deliver my package when they didn't. I've been home and have security cameras that can also prove they never came to my door. They will automatically reroute my package to an Access Point (I have never authorized this!!) the access point is several miles from my home and I'm not about to walk or take a bus to pick up a package that was supposed to be delivered to my doorstep. I don't appreciate the drivers being less than honest when reporting that they attempted to deliver my package. If it were up to me I'd never use UPS again. It really sucks to live in the east bay because when you send or are expecting to receive a package via UPS, you're apparently stuck with this facility and there's Always a high probability of there being a problem with it. If it hadn't been for Helen and Reggie manning the customer service counter Christmas Eve morning, I would have been extremely close to screaming at someone - they were able to keep most of the customers calm and (somehow) patient. 1) I understand that it was so close to Christmas that mistakes can happen. Shipments could be overlooked, deadlines missed, etc etc. But if something is marked with "URGENT" and definitely doesn't look like a Christmas gift shouldn't it be delivered as soon as the mistake is found?? People pay extra to have something delivered overnight or the next day and it's not always just a random "thing"! 2) I talked to at least 5 different UPS reps the Friday that my package should have arrived. 3 of them GUARANTEED that it was en route and that it would arrive That day. All 3 were wrong. I know because I stayed home the entire day, waiting by the door. After 11pm I called one more time to ensure my package would be available for me to pick up by 9am so I could finally meet up with my family for the Holidays. I was assured it would be ready. 3) I arrived at this center at 9am on the dot Christmas eve morning. My package was not ready for me to pick up and they had to go look for it because they didn't know where it was. So instead of spending 3 hours driving in my car to meet with family, I spent 3 hours twiddling my thumbs at this UPS center. The worst is I was later told that it was accidentally left on the truck and was again "out for delivery". Sitting around wasting another entire day at home during a holiday weekend was not my idea of fun so I requested to meet with the truck driver somewhere in order to receive my package. By some miraculous turn of events, Helen was finally able to get a hold of the driver and had him deliver my package within the next half hour to my house instead. THANK YOU HELEN - not UPS. I just don't understand why anyone still uses UPS to send packages. I always feel like I have to worry about it reaching its destination! I have NEVER experienced this much problems with Fed-Ex. After this last attempt in working with UPS, I vow to NEVER EVER use UPS again. I will pay another company $50 extra just to avoid using them. The headaches they cause me is just not worth it. PS. While they do have a " 'strict' guaranteed delivery or your money back policy" - if your package is not delivered within their delivery time frame (with a few minor small-printed exceptions) you get a Full Refund. This is the worst UPS Hub. The Manager/ Supervisor are rude. They didn't display a name tag. When asked their names. They refused to give it. The driver on my route has falsified delivery attempts( No door tag ) and falsified logistics putting I requested to pick-up my packages. This has been an ongoing problem since 2016. The driver started retaliating against me for complaining to Customer Service about falsifying delivery attempts. The UPS driver is a White Guy. He deliver to white neighborhoods and businesses. But he won't deliver packages to a senior building with mostly all blacks. One of my neighbors told me UPS said they can't deliver packages to our building. She had 4 packages returned to the shipper becuz she's disabled and can't pick-up her large boxes. I was expecting a package today from bath and body works. The UPS driver logged in the logistics. That I requested to pick-up my package,this is a lie. Last month I had to wait in line for over an hour for 2 packages the driver refused to deliver. One box had been opened and a bottle of perfume I had made was stolen along with it's carrying bag. I've reported this UPS driver so many times. I have lost count of the number of times the UPS Delivery person has returned the package to the sender stating NO SUCH ADDRESS. I live in the CITY OF SOMONA! The address is a registered, legal address in the City of Sonoma, on a property where in my home sits behind the home facing the street. IN OTHER WORDS: There are two houses on one property in the City of Sonoma. The last time this happened a UPS Representative told me exactly what to do to remedy the situation. This is completely unacceptable. I have been waiting for a package that I ordered on the 18th, that arrived at this location on the 22nd, and was scheduled for delivery the next day. They have since updated the status to indicate that my delivery would be "delayed by one business day". Here we are, a full week later, and the status remains unchanged. This place only fields phone calls or other in-person inquiries between 2pm and 6pm, so it is extremely difficult to either contact someone over the phone or to pick your package up in person. Not that it matters anyway, since my package is too large to pick up and put in my Toyota 86 (it is a mini fridge). Thankfully it wasn't one of the deliveries containing medicine for my dog or books for school. Either way though, the level of service here is absolutely awful, and I have no idea why they continue to lie about the estimated delivery times. But it is quite upsetting and disappointing, and I am not the only one that I know experiencing this problem with this particular location. Shame on them. read more

I moved to my current address (served by this UPS hub a few miles away) about a year ago and it's been shocking how horrible UPS delivery service is compared to my prior addresses. I'm not exaggerating when I say that EVERY delivery goes out for repeated delivery attempts before finally being delivered. I've attempted contacting UPS to make sure there isn't some issue with my address but no one I talk to ever knows how to help and (from reading other recent reviews here) it seems like this is a systemic problem with the San Pablo delivery hub and not a problem with my particular address. The last delivery was out for delivery 5 days in a row and when it was finally delivered earlier this week, it was covered in dust, debris and dirt and had TWO DIFFERENT SHOE PRINTS on it, one on the front and one on the back. The merchandise inside was crushed and ruined. On multiple other occasions, my front door cam captured the delivery guy tossing packages like frisbees from 10+ feet away. Currently I have two other UPS deliveries stuck in the San Pablo UPS loop since mid last week, 'out for delivery' every day or two, sitting in San Pablo the other days, waiting to be re-sorted. These guys will cite "Adverse Weather Conditions" as a reason not to deliver your package on three consecutive beautiful sunny days; I find it hard to believe they are so sensitive to sunlight exposure. Over the last week, I have not been happy with UPS. First they damaged a print from Iowa that Gayle loved. And I'm not done with UPS's byzantine claims process and their "left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing" central 2 Star service model. Back in Albany, I used up my "3 Strikes" for another package that I had ordered, but could not be delivered because it required a signature to a empty house during the day. And unlike its FedEx competition in Emeryville, the 2 - 6 PM (Only) pick up time brings a whole new meaning the the term Banker's Hours. Of course you can change the delivery address, but that will cost you $4 on line or $6 over the phone. I ended up bluntly telling the UPS representative on the phone that I'd rather have the package returned than pay money for the new address, change my schedule to conform to their limited hours. At times like these, it's helpful to remember that the workers on the front line are not responsible for stupid Corporate pet tricks, and that there's often local flexibility to do the right thing. After drawing my line in the sand, the patient and helpful UPS representative arranged for me to pick up the package at the UPS Warehouse at 10 AM. And when I got there, the Security person and then Florisa the UPS person were the nicest people, as they quickly made sure that I received my package. Such a friendly local touch changed everything and was much appreciated. The two UPS drivers who delivered packages between 3/4-21/2011 are liars! These two UPS drivers stated the following: 1. The first driver said I told him I would pick up my package at the Customer Service Center when the driver NEVER contacted me nor did the driver leave a delivery notice at my door. 2. The second driver said I was not home on March 18th when I was home at 12:04 PM when I had been waiting for the package from 7:30 AM until 4:00 PM! This has to be the mecca for incompetence. I've had almost 10 packages of a larger order shipped from California to Pennsylvania. All but one had issues in this San Pablo hole in the ground. We're not talking small merchandise either, there is over $12,000 of items across those packages. One of which is over a week late and has been in San Pablo for almost two weeks. I've sat on the phone with UPS for hours this week trying to sort out where all this stuff is. I can't even get a refund on the hundreds of dollars of shipping expenses I paid because UPS fine print has written them out of responsibility in one obscure way in every instance. From now on when shipping for business, if it has to go or come from California, we will back out of a deal and utilize another merchant and/or tell the customer we cannot ship to them. All over this center which seems to historically be the most poorly functioning logistics center to ever exist. This hub constantly sits on packages, sometimes for days before they move on to my home which is about 45 miles away. I don't use UPS to ship unless I have to, go Fed Ex. These packages left VA within a day of each other and did not update until they arrived in San Pablo, yet they sit and get delivered on several different days once there? I used to consider UPS the best shipper, but this center no longer has any customer service. I've had problems with them lying and saying my package was delayed because COVID left them wiht no driver for my street, even when I had pictures of UPS trucks delivering on my street that day. They just seem to get worse, as evidenced by their failure to follow through on a promised call back yesterday. I live on a one-way street, and we have a driver who, even when there's parking along the side, stops in the middle of hte street to get out to deliver packages. He doesn't move if cars are behind him and leaves no room for them to go aroudn his truck. Yesterday, the truck stopped right in front of th ealley leading to the garages for the houses in our neighborhood. My husband honked before the driver got out to let him know he was behind him. The driver ignored him, refused to move the truck, and stood on the porch of the person he was delivering to. He is rude and unprofessional, yet the distribution center seems unwilling to address the issue. I had a package that was missing our apartment number. After I picked up the package I was a little frustrated because I saw that the invoice that was on the box DID have my apartment number, the label did not and that is what caused the issue. However I was able to call UPS and have them schedule an appointment to pick it up at the UPS Customer Center located on Atlas. After I got off the phone I received a call and was told to arrive between 8:30 - 9:00 to pick up my package. I arrived during that time and was able to pick up my package without any issues. I checked our front door, I've checked our surroundings, and I've checked our ring video didn't see a UPS delivery person. At the Center, I waited in line for over an hour. When I got to the front of the line, I was told that my package was lost. According to the tracking record, it hadn't been scanned since Friday 6/12. What I find really upsetting is that every single UPS rep I spoke with since the 12th had access to my package's tracking record and could have told me this was a possibility at any point, but no one did. What a waste of time and money! 4 long phonecalls, 2 trips over the bridge ($12 in tolls) and 2 long waits in line only to find out my package is lost. Next step, file a claim, which Customer Service tells me takes about 10 days to resolve and my package probably still won't be found, but, the good news is that once they officially confirm my package is lost, then the shipper can resend!?! If I ever do get this package, it'll probably be just in time to give to my husband for Christmas. read more

I ordered a package with next day shipping (coming from about 70 miles away) over a week ago, for the past 4 days the tracking info stated "out for delivery" and i didn't receive it. Yesterday I called and they assured me i would receive my package that day between 5-8pm, they even sent me a link so that i can track the route of the truck. I witnessed the truck pass by my house multiple times (see pic), and at about 7:30pm I received and email stating there has been a delay with my package. I called to schedule a pick up but the only available hours are between 2-6pm which is conveniently when about 80% of the US is at work. read more
