First let me say this store should be called Orvis: The Adams. There are like five Adams who have…read moreworked here over the past several years. I know this because this is my husband's toy store and I hear so many stories about Adam Schroder or Adam Slavinski or Adam the big cheese manager. I can't keep them all apart. All I know is one of them just shaved his beard and my husband is distraught. I'm pretty sure my husband is thinking about changing his name to Adam. Before my husband ever started fly fishing, I used to go here with my daughter clothes shopping. They have some really great brands - made in America - excellent customer service. When my husband put down his guitar and picked up his fly rod (only one expensive hobby at a time, please), this became the go-to place for all the things. Fly rods. Reels. Bags. Shirts. Pants. You get the drift. This is where my husband was introduced to and fell in love with Kuhl pants. He also really loves the Orvis-branded hats and shirts and jackets. This year he even has some things on his wish list for the dog. They've got a great selection of dog beds and toys in wonderful quality. And as I said, made in America, which is very important to our family. And then there are the Adams. They are really knowledgeable about the area fishing spots and my husband knows he can rely on them for current information. He just got home from Orvis, as a matter of fact, where one of the Adams told him Oatka and the Niagara River are looking pretty good right now. Tip: They teach free fly tying and fly fishing classes as well. If you're at all interested in learning how to fly fish, this is hands-down the best place in the area to learn. Ask for Adam.

I signed up myself and Mark for a Fly Fishing 101 Class…read more "The Adam's" were GREAT. Incredibly knowledge and truly passionate about their sport. We borrowed poles and were able to head outside to learn how to Fly Fish. We even got to attempt (and I got one!) using Velcro flies and Velcro fish out on the lawn. It was super silly and fun. The store is neat, clean, and organized. You can get clothing, Shoes, Pet Supplies, and all imaginable gear (and there's a TON) for this sport. Prices range from $100 - $1,500 depending on the level of deep dive you plan to make into the world of Fly Fishing. We are signed up for Fly Fishing 201 in a week and I will report back!

Back in November of 2017, I put $10,000 into the business All In The Same Boat - ASB Tackle Shop…read more The owners told me it would be an investment into the company and that I would become a business partner. I was excited because this meant I would be getting steady checks each week from the profits of the company. This never happened. They took my money, used it to pay off one of their bills from a wholesale tackle company, and didn't pay me a penny. Jamie and Greg refused to sign a contract but yet they agreed to make monthly payments to refund me my $10,000. This ALSO never happened. Now it is 2019 and I still haven't seen a penny of what they stole from me. So I think it's finally time that all my Facebook friends know how dishonest the owner of ASB Tackle truly is. He took advantage of an ignorant 19 year old and has done this to many others as well. And his (ex) wife, Jamie, isn't innocent... she was a part of this the entire time. Bottom line is, if you need tackle, I suggest you take your business elsewhere. Please share this to spread the word. I'm sick to my stomach about this every day. It seems as though I can't get my money back but at least I can spread the word of his dishonesty.

Take this review with a grain of salt-- it's strictly relative to all the other baitshops we've…read morebeen to. That said, the store is objectively quite good. The people who work there are nice (which is surprisingly unusual for a baitshop in Ontario), the prices are good (ditto; its a great spot to stockup on extra tackle and such en-route to your fishing spot), and the minnows are quite vigorous. In our experience driving across Ontario, you usually get to pick one of those things. No other shop we've seen has managed to hit all three. We've gotten fairly resigned to a sizable percentage (sometimes half) of the minnows dying before we get a chance to use them, but that just isn't the problem here. Every single unused minnow we bought is still alive and well in my cooler over a day later, and aside from a few that seem to have died from oxygen deprivation while we were changing fishing spots, we didn't lose any en-route. The only cons are: the place is a little bit hard to find (it's behind the Husky, and in a little corner unit that's a bit hard to spot), and occasionally their hours change a bit. So you may want to call in to be sure they're open at times. Still, the location is handy if you're going up North from the GTA to fish, and they're near Bass Pro (their reputation is good enough that the fellows at Bass Pro were the ones that originally directed us here), so its a great one-stop spot to replenish equipment as well as bait and tackle.

The amazing staff walked us through the process of transferring and shipping my father's firearms…read moreto our out of state homes after he passed. The staff kind and had patience and compassion with us in a difficult time. I cannot easily state how much the process was easy, and while not painless also not tied up in bureaucracy as I had expected it to be. The young woman who was helping us was incredible (I unfortunately cannot remember her name, and I hate that. I'd really like to call her out by name). The little I looked at the firearms pricing I think they are very competitive, but as a non-New Yorker for the past 38 years, I can't purchase there so I didn't dig in deep. We also picked up a little Camo outfit for our 18Month old grandson while there. Pricing for the work they did was very reasonable, and she made sure we were getting enough insurance in case the unthinkable happened. I cannot say how they improved a horrible moment for us. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

I'm all for supporting the small "mom & pop" stores over the big chains and they make it so much easier to do by always making you feel like you've been a customer for years, even on your first visit. They will always have my business and I will always suggest them as store to shop at even if you don't purchase anything.
