It looked like a an outdoor bar or ventanita; I looked it up and bookmarked it for the birria tacos (which are harder to come by around these parts). So glad we came by this afternoon. I've passed by this place countless times and was invited by a friend to meet up. I got there before my friend and took the time to scope out the menu beforehand as I've recently gotten throat surgery and limited to anything spicy, cold or with heavy seasoning. It's been more challenging than I thought with eating/drinking at restaurants since my surgery. You'd be surprised how insensitive some people are... this place was extremely accommodating and very nice with any questions/concerns I had. Unfortunately, cold water is super sensitive to my throat still and I asked the gentleman if he had any room temperature water. Originally said no but without hesitation took the room temperature bottle from the display and offered it to me. He also took a cold bottle out of the fridge and sat it out for me so I could have another bottle of water later. Warmed my heart ! Was very, very nice oh him. Let's take about food ...... I ordered the Birria tacos - they came in a pair for $10. And also ordered 2 of the Barbacoa tacos. I did let the guy know my limitations of spice and he was very polite with addressing my concerns. Made me feel confident when ordering. The birrias were my favorite out of the two. Birrias have been a crazy fad lately and some people just don't know how to do it. They had the perfect crunch to it. Great flavor and the consommé was actually very flavorful as well and not a bowl of oil like most places. They included chopped red onions, side of cilantro and lime with the tacos. I ended up opening up my taco and adding the onions and cilantro inside. My friend added the onions and cilantro inside the consommé ... nevertheless I liked having the option to do as I please with it! The barbacoa had great flavor as well. Something pretty unique is their barbacoa is a mixture of 3 different beefs. Oxtails, beef cheek and short rib. Came with two sauces, one green, one red. Both had a kick so I couldn't drown my food like I normally would but I did try a litttttle taste of each. I'm a sauce-a-holic and one thing I love is a good salsa that has FLAVOR. I don't want a hot sauce that just lights up my insides, I want heat and flavor and both sauces delivered . The seating is outside only, they have circle barrels? Where you stand and eat. I parked in the little lot next door. Their music was great. Had some reggae going at the moment and it was overall just a good vibe. As I was leaving they had a DJ setting up which was intriguing. I feel like it's a pretty simple concept, not a super complex menu, very easy and clear expectation of how to order and the wait was not long either. Chill environment and great customer service! The Birria tacos are full of flavor. I just wasn't a fan of the dipping sauce because it was a liquid sauce that felt like you were dipping the taco in oil. The sauce didn't have a thickness to it! The hardest thing to find in Miami is some good Mexican food. I missed taco Tuesday and was craving some quesadillas something. Went on DoorDash and uptown 66 popped up. Had pretty solid reviews and I was a little skeptical but still decided to go through with it. I ordered through DoorDash and got the chicken burrito and chicken quesadilla. Wow. Wow. Wow. I was happy that my food was still hot. Best burrito I've ever had. No lies told. When you think of crispy potatoes in a burrito you ask why but it just makes perfect sense. We got two orders of the Birria tacos ($10 an order of two), an order of guacamole and chips, two steak burritos and some flan. We wanted the churros but they would've taken an additional 7 minutes. Next time for sure as they looked great. We got home and dug in...and were pleasantly surprised by everything. The food was delish. There's something to be said for food prepared fresh. As well, everything came with its salsas, juices, cilantro and onion. We showed up on a Sunday Arp about 1pm and the wait was about 20 minutes. I am not crazy for the nachos, but this is just a personal preference because it was too much sauce or cheese, but the taste of it was good. I visited Miami this past weekend for a bachelorette party and we had dinner catered one night from Uptown 66 Taqueria. I contacted them a couple of weeks prior to our visit to get pricing for a large order and Crystal was super responsive and amazing to work with. She gave me suggestions for the amount of food she would recommend for our group size and sent me a receipt for the total cost. On the morning of, I called the restaurant to confirm and pay, and they had my order information ready to go. Crystal dropped off our order herself, and I couldn't have asked for a better delivery experience. She was right on time and everything was packaged perfectly in platters as we had requested. I can't say enough good things about the food. The chicken tacos and birria specifically were a hit with our group. The churros were the best I've ever had.
