Heard about this place having the best birra tacos so we came for Cinco de Mayo. Ordered pretty quickly on the counter. Got the birra tacos and margaritas. The spicy passion fruit margarita was delish! One Margarita was enough for me. Had a nice buzz going. Found parking across the street and found an empty table pretty fast. We got guac and chips too. But the birra is why I'm coming back! The flavor, the juiciness and the crunchiness all in one. This is why we celebrate. Cheers to you Uptown 66! read more

I've been thinking of trying this place and was able to go recently. Parking wasn't hard to find but I'm sure if it were busier I'd have a tougher time finding a spot. They have a good amount of seating so my friend and I didn't have an issue finding a table. Service was as simple as ordering at the counter and receiving a table number to get your order brought to you. It didn't take long to get our drinks or food. The staff were nice. The food and drinks were good. I would go back and recommend. It's a cute spot for a date, casual night out for tacos, or late night "pick me up". read more

Went here unexpectedly without knowing they had the best tacos in America. This place is very small with outdoor seating, the parking was a little difficult since it was mainly street parking. Ordered at the window and food was brought out to the tables. Got the Birria Tacos which were absolutely delicious, had just the right amount of cheese and meat and the dipping sauce was made just right. Also ordered the Elote which OMG that was the best one I've had. Everything about it was good from the size, the toppings, and the price. The only thing that might need some improvement was the fact that flies got attracted to the food quickly and they kept flying around while eating which got a bit annoying. If they had fly traps it would probably help with less of them being present while eating. Other than that i would still return to try different things on the menu. read more

Love this place! I come here super often for the amazing happy hour prices of $5 per drink- get the spicy tamarind it's the best! And I love that they have some gluten free taco options. Food is great too and I've hear a lot of good things about the steak burrito. It's a good chill place to go with friends, it's all outdoor and open seating. I have to say, this place is fun! Cool vibe, nice open patio that is great for people watching and the crazy Miami drivers. The menu is small but it looked so delicious. We weren't super hungry but we definitely had to get in the the happy hour special for a dozen oysters for $12. We almost ordered a 2nd round of oysters but we were pretty full. Maybe we should have, because they were damn good. And so were the margaritas. happy hour margaritas are only $5 and they have some deliciously fun flavors. There was a nice gentleman at the counter ringing people up and he was funny and friendly. You could tell that they liked their jobs there. Slinging some delicious eats and margs on a chill Friday afternoon sounds fun to me too. I will definitely come back next time I am in Miami. This happy hour deal is not one to pass up. read more

Sooooo I finally had to try what the hype was all about! I live close by and since Uptown 66 has been open I pass by it probably everyday. I went one late night for some taco munchies and boy was I not disappointed. I got the mushroom tacos and the Al pastor tacos, the flavors just melted in your mouth. It was also packed for a Monday night. They have some high chairs and tables in the front and then some seating in the back. Everyday no matter what time or day of the week, it's packed, and for all good reasons. They bring the food to your table which is nice. The parking is a bit rough, but you can park in the street or next to the hotel. Next time I have to try the steak burrito and the Birria tacos because apparently they are even better. No wonder Good Morning America voted it as the #1 taco's! read more

She informed me of happy hour drinks while I wait for my order to go. I chose the spicy passion fruit margarita. It was good. I ordered the chicken and barria taco. This is about my 5th time at Uptown 66 Taqueria and I absolutely love everything on the menu. I agree with all the marketing I've seen for this spot. It can easily be the best Mexican spot in Miami. My favorites are: The steak burrito The birria & the fish taco It's a cute little spot on the corner of 66 and Biscayne. My one and only complaint is parking. There's absolutely no parking. I always have to order for pick-up or I'll be stuck parking 2-3 blocks away wherever I can find a spot and walking back. You'll have to park at your own risk in the neighbor behind it, or at the small market next to it. I don't advise it. If you bring your dog, they'll bring out a bowl of water for them. I have been dying to try Uptown for some while now as I always drive by and it is busy and I finally got the chance yesterday. It was everything I imagined and more! I got the steak burrito and it is probably one of the best I have ever had! It was delicious!! It is also very big so def sharable especially if you get apps too. We also got the chicken nachos and they were heaven. The cheese on the nachos was everything!! I had never had that type of melty cheese and I loved it. My friends got the birria tacos and although I didn't taste them, they were equally pleased with their food. We also got a few more items and everything was good, so basically I feel like you can't go wrong here. :) The staff was very nice and polite and the place is cute. They also have a cute garden type of area in the back with eating. I'm thinking this will become one of my regular spots because it was excellent. Cannot wait to be back! read more

This was an amazing find! The restaurant itself is unassuming, but I'm glad I did not skip it based on sight... the food was out of this world! I don't typically repeat restaurants on vacation, but this was worth a second visit! I recommend takeout as seating is all outdoor and very limited. I love a place that knows what they do well and really maximizes on the quality. There are not a lot of food options here but you will really enjoy the flavor! The staff was very friendly. All the seating is outside. It's a chill little spot with a good playlist. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our food. I didn't like that the bathroom was located in the back on the building. The food here is so tasty! I had been wanting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. We had the guac appetizer, then steak burrito and the birria tacos as an entree. The steak burrito had crispy potatoes inside which won me over. The steak was marinated and full of flavor. The birria tacos were also delicious. The few downsides were that they have very little seating and it's all outdoors. So be prepared if you go on a hot miami day. The second thing was that parking is very hard to find. I'm from Southern California and this is the best Mexican food I've had so far in Miami. 5 stars for being Miami but if I were to compare it to California Mexican food I'd give it a 4. Nonetheless I recommend! Steak in the burrito was tender. The potato in it was yummy. Elote was good, just needed tajin. Birria in the tacos were so tender. I loved how they packaged the onion and cilantro on the side. It needed another slice of lime for the tacos. Another review mentioned this, but the birria tacos are made with flour tortillas instead of corn. I think it would taste much better with corn tortilla! Also, the limes didn't have much juice. I loved the amount of salsa they gave on the side, they don't act stingy with their salsa which is a major W. Food was delivered very quickly, restaurant cooked it up fast. One my my favorite weeknight dinner spots at the moment. I ALWAYS drive past Uptown 66 and never stopped there until a couple days ago. They have tacos, burritos, nachos, soda, beer, and corn. They have a cute patio in the back and outdoor seating in the front. I ordered the shrimp burrito for myself and the steak burrito for my boyfriend. I had seen this place circulating around social media and I finally got a chance to try it out! I was on my way home from work when I decided that I finally had to give them a try... of course, it was taco tuesday, so I was hoping the line wouldn't be too long. To my surprise, it wasn't. Parking is the only thing that's a bit tricky. I found a spot about a block away and made my way up to the line. There were a solid 3/4 guests, so less than a 10 min wait. Once you order, they give you a number and you go find a seat while they fire up your food. I ordered a barbacoa taco and steak burrito. The flavor was all there, but I'm not sure if a single small taco is worth $5...a bit much in my opinion. The steak burrito was a decent size; worth ordering again. I would like to try their happy hour menu next time! I'm a sucker for oysters and margaritas, they seem to have a lot of tasty options! I'd recommend coming here if you want to experience good quality Mexican and have some money to spend. I'd say prices range between $15-30 pp. I didn't get to try their birria tacos, but I did read that they won best birria taco, according to Good Morning America! This place is flipping amazing. One of the better taco places I've been to in California OR Florida. The flautas were great. The Margarita was solid. The tacos were great. This place is just a winner. I can't praise it enough. I just wish they had a shrimp taco. It seems very no-brainer. Although that in itself was a big pricy considering it's literally corn in the cob. Burritos were tasty and tacos were well seasoned. For the burritos I wish some basic fillings were a given rather than an addition such as lettuce, rice and beans. And sauces such as sour cream which would have been useful as the burritos were a little dry. The taste overall was okay. If I'm in the area and wanted a burrito I'll go there but if I wasn't, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat from there. read more

The Pollo Asado Taco did not have much flavor (had too much cotija) and the Hongos Taco had way too much onion and pear, which took away from the taste of the mushrooms. The Classic Caesar Salad was just okay. I waited a long time for my food when there were not that many people waiting. They get the two stars for seemingly making authentic taco shells made to order instead of serving store bought flour tortillas. Their mushroom taco is fairly decent but definitely not the best in Miami, let alone of all of America. Also they're too pricey to be so mediocre. My qualm with this place is this... If you clearly have shrimp to make shrimp burritos why don't you have shrimp tacos as well? They have shrimp nachos, along with the option to add shrimp to a basic caesar salad but they won't even accommodate a simple request to make shrimp tacos. Honestly, what kind of warped logic is that? (You clearly have the ingredients to make shrimp tacos Ugh!) Furthermore, they no longer dress the rims of the cups with tajin or any margarita salt/sugar for that matter. You basically buy the premade cocktail drinks & pour it in a cup yourself. If you are looking for 5-star service this isn't the place it's more of a place your order at the counter vibe . And they will bring it to you and that's about it .
