Designer clothes at a fraction of a prize, sign me up!!!. I actually thought I was walking into a Ross dress for less, instead I walked into a small store that claims to have top designer brands at incredible savings IT is actually a used or second hand clothing store. The claim they are designer is a stretch, very debatable in my opinion. The store smells very moldy and there are racks cramed with clothes everywhere. There was even plastic bins on the floor with jeans and pants. I did see a few designer pieces like harve leger bandage dresses but they were selling those for $400, I saw some Tory Burch shoes, Coach purses and a few other designer pieces. As far as luxury stuff I saw a few pairs of jimmy Choo shoes but they sell those for quite a bit of money, (they were ugly) not secondhand price at all. I looked through a few racks and a lot of the stuff they have are in pretty bad shape. They are regular brands. They have everything from XOXO, to BCBG. They did have some sort of discounts, where you could take extra percentage off on selected items with some color dots on their tags. If you like thrift shopping this could be a good place for you. I did not see anything worth my time other than the few luxury designer pieces I saw that were frankly too expensive for such a store. Other than that, this is just another thrift store. read more

Really only recommend if you're on a huge second hand shopping spree and have run out of options. I'd much sooner stick to Plato's, Goodwill, and Poshmark. The plus: some of the staff are friendly; because clothing is second hand and they pay pennies on the dollar for them, you can find cute clothing for less than you would pay new in stores. Most of it is in decent condition. However... They will sell clothing with tears, stains, and other damage at full price. Clearly it is within policy for them to accept used clothing with tears and stains, because it is on the floor, and if you are interested in purchasing the item and attempting to sew or stain treat it yourself and ask for a small discount because of the damage, they are not willing to speak to you or negotiate whatsoever. Plato's policy does not allow them to accept clothing in poor condition like this. No stains, tears, holes, snags, piling, or other damage. If someone accidentally overlooks damage and accepts a damaged item that is later found on the floor, which by their brand standards never should have made it to the floor, they will absolutely honor a discount to get the damaged item off the floor. 25% is a reasonable discount for something that makes their brand look bad in the first place and most will accept this, but uptown is not willing to consider any discounts whatsoever, even as meaningless as 10% for damaged goods found on the floor. It is considered a reason the item wouldn't sell quickly just like any other item that just didn't get love that month. Any other retail store with pride in their name and their brand would have thrown a damaged item away or donated it before leaving it on the floor at full price. If goodwill sells something torn or stained it is more understandable as they sell items received for free and quality is in no way part of their brand standards. Uptown cheapskate sells Dolce and Gabbana and Ted Baker; you'd think they wouldn't want people finding a bunch of torn and poor quality clothing on the floor. Their loyalty system is also nowhere near the quality of Plato's or even poshmark. The discounts are pretty insignificant and hard to attain, and if you do wish to actually spend money at the store and use an earned reward after spending a good bit of money in their store in the past, you can't use it in anything that has been discounted at all, no matter how minuscule the discount or large the purchase. Not to mention, many staff have a bad case of RBF. The selection is at best equally as good as Plato's, but I have found much more I like at Plato's, abs the staff is friendly and accommodating with an honorable brand. All in all... maybe worth a stop if you're in the area and have never been, but if you have the option go somewhere else! read more

The best way I can describe this store is the 'designer' version of Plato's. They can even buy your old stuff if you bring it in! They have a sizeable men's collection in the front of the store and the whole back half is women's clothing and shoes and jewelry is housed at the register. Everything is nicely sorted and organized by color and size. I'd definitely be a regular if I lived closer! read more

I wasn't going to write this post. But I realized how much of a waste of time in my day this was and though I'm upset. I get it they have to make money. But this was just ridiculous. If you're trying to sell shoes here. Don't. Just sell them on StockX. I had these brand new Air Jordon 36's the Rui Hachimura Sakura ones. They literally just sold in this size on StockX for $757 bruh. And this man low balled me. Said $40 for those and the Jordan 1's I had. I literally thought he was joking. He seems like a nice guy. But never have I felt more disrespected. Maybe he doesn't know shoes like that? Maybe that's not his specialty. But looking around his store. I see beat up old shoes being sold for $125+ like how? Honestly I was gonna rate this a 2 because he was respectful. But naw. I gotta rate it a 1. I almost bought some shoes from here, and looking into details, they were fakes, but I don't blame the store because it's a thrift store and them buy stuff from other people but I hope they check next time for authenticity and tell so to customers, hopefully their other stuff is authentic. Really great store! Came on a Saturday evening to sell clothes. The process took about 15 minutes. You don't get a ton of money for your clothes but for me it was stuff I was never going to use again anyways so might as well get something for it. I also bought some clothes. I needed business casual clothes for clinicals for school however didn't want to spend a fortune. Found many high quality business casual blouses for $8 - $15. I've read other reviews and its quite apparent that all they offer is $40 cash or $50 store credit. That is all you'll get for your items- no matter how new they are, or how many bags you've brought them. $40 is the max you'll get. Seriously. What's the point? She went to look at another pair of vans came back and said no again. I could have been able to get something but all I got was terrible service from a employee who clearly doesn't like to hold work. Thieves! They purchased almost $90 worth of items from me and told me I could leave the items they didn't buy with them at their store and they would donate it to a Church in Boca. A couple weeks later I found some of my handbags in another thrift store. When I asked the employees about how the Thrift store owner acquired his items they said they buy items off the Turkish guy and his wife at the Uptown Cheapskate in Oakland Park. I was appalled. YOU ARE STEALING FROM PEOPLE UNDER FALSE PRETENSES! I will never recommend this location to anyone. I'd never want anyone to get ripped off! read more

This store is a joke...it's great for shoppers, you can find some good deals..but how are you getting those good deals...the owners are screwing over the people who bring in clothes to sell. The give you pennies on the dollar for name brand, practically new clothes.. I brought in a shopping bag of clean , neatly folded brand name clothing..the employee pulled every item out and dropped them on the counter..decided she only wanted 315 items, and then shoved the unwanted items back into the bag..and finally offered me 15 dollars for a pair of new Harley Davidson jeans and button shirt and a pair of MissMe jeans worn once. $15...very insulting, when we all know they will hang those jeans up and sell them for big bucks, in a second hand shop. I will give these clothes t the homeless..sell your stuff on eBay or online or have a yard sale..the name if the store is perfect..cheap skates! read more
