Hello all, Just writing to inform/warn others about the used car department at Uptown jeep/chevrolet in Slinger Wi. They do not stand behind their products or service! My wife and I recently purchased a 2007 4 door Jeep Sahara that was all decked out with less than 60000 miles. On the way home with the vehicle the engine light came on...thats where the trouble began..... Living quite a distance from Slinger I brought the vehicle to a friends shop to have it looked at. He found many additional problems with the vehicle, primarily improperly installed parts. This being the used car managers vehicle (and the son of the owner) we thought that this vehicle would be proper like. To list a few of the problems...it had a improperly installed track arm, springs, and a performance/mileage adjusting part. I was at this time not married, then when it came time for my wedding i was pulled over for speeding even though i had the cruise set! Needless to say I missed my wedding. They did not re-calibrate the speedometer after installing bigger tires and did not disclose that fact in the consumer report. After much grief and threatening to have my lawyer call them on the lemon law they agreed to get us "out of" the Jeep. They put us into a 2009 ford F150. a 2009 with 42000 miles. I though great! my buddies drive Fords and like them. well low and behold within a week the trouble began...rough running and dying at stoplights, also a growling sound from the rear and what felt like a rear brake hanging up. I immediately read the owners manual and thought mabee i had gotten some bad gas as the engine light did not come on. I called the dealership and they referred me to the service dept at Uptown Ford in milwaukee where I spoke with Fred. He first asked if I had bought the extended warranty, when i replied that the truck still has factory warranty He said it sounded like bad gas and said that i should run premium in the vehicle, i thought this odd because upon reading the owners manual it stated that my warranty would be null and void if i ran premium fuel in it. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD HE TELL ME TO DO THAT? I contacted another dealership and was told no definitely do not run premium in my vehicle. Was Fred trying to get me to void my warranty? luckily the engine light came on so the computer could store the fault codes. The previous owner had installed a napa air filter which did not let the airbox close properly so a bug got stuck in the mass air flow sensor, and the growling was the differential which to my surprise was replaced only 7000 miles before. They did not at first want to warranty anything...they finally agreed to warrentying the rear end but not the air flow sensor. I meanwhile called the manager from the slinger store a Mr. TONY BAKER and was told that he wasnt going to do anything about it because he lost so much already, i stated that i would rather have my suburban back but since its gone i know thats not possible....He then proceeded to blame me for the issues on both vehicles. when clearly if he had any mechanics worth their salt they would have caught these problems in their pre-sale inspection. After extensive research, my wife and I finally decided on the exact Jeep Cherokee we wanted, down to the trim level, options and color. We searched Chicagoland dealers for that exact vehicle, but it was not available in this region. Knowing the available inventory and costs, we found our Jeep at Uptown Chrysler, almost 2 hours away from us. I called the dealer and spoke to Dieter, our expert sales guy, who said he would talk to his manager about all available rebates for me, so that we could determine if it would be worth it to drive 2 hours to buy this truck. When he called back he gave their best price, and knowing the market, it was the least expensive I found. No hassles, no surprises, honest and straightforward. I experienced a WONDERFUL new car/ trade with JUSTIN THIMM at UPTOWN. I went in with the intent on buying a certain car and JUSTIN THIMM went out of his way to show and explain the difference between the cars. He spent hours with me. Test driving and showing me different things about the cars. Justin told me about the features and differences that have occurred since I purchased last. I am pleased to say that I purchased a car I had I. The passed but quality was not there in the last 15 years. UPTOWN & JUSTIN THIMM gave me a great deal. I bought my mini van from Uptown 6 years ago. This was the first time I brought it back to them for maintenance due to just simply going to other places closer to home, however I had a light on that only the dealer could fix. Turns out this was the best decision to come back here. Beau was amazing and informative. He and his staff made sure I knew exactly what was happening at all times and even saved me some $$$ from an unnecessary repair that I thought I might need. The price for oil change and tire rotation was less expensive than if I went to my 'old' place for just the oil change. I will now be making all minor and major repairs and updates at Uptown. Walked into Uptown not sure what to expect We were approached by salesman Justin Thimm. His knowledge of each car was impressive! After talking with us he knew what we were looking for. He showed us the Chrysler 200. We took one for a test drive. That was all we needed to know we found what we wanted. Justin was very helpful in the paperwork process. He found a car with all the options we wanted. Had my car in a couple days. He even came to our house to finish the paperwork. The car and the service we received were beyond expectations! This dealership reaffirmed my faith in humanity. Not even kidding. Thought buying a used Jeep would be difficult since I lived a couple of states away. The salespeople endured my questions, requests and trade-in issues. They made it easy and everything went smoothly. Kind of ... but when it didn't they did the right thing, and then they did the nice thing, then the good thing and then the saintly thing. Uptown was a great car buying experience. From my initial phone conversation with my salesman Justin to closing on the vehicle without any pressure of adding any products to the purchase that I didn't want.I might add that Justin was very informative and showed me how everything worked on my brand new car and offered to help with anything I might need additional help with. After our car came in this is the first dealership to ever walk us around and show us exactly where everything is so I know where to go when I come in for service. Justin and Mark were absolutely amazing from day 1. We had a different type of transaction we were doing but that never changed their attitude and they were always in touch with us. Brought our son's car here after another Chevy dealer had it for a week without looking at it. Originally spoke with David, who was awesome and said they would do whatever they could to help us. He quoted the job, and referred us to Scott. Scott was amazing. We were informed of the work being done, it was done early and even came in under quote. They also billed out something earlier, just so we could take advantage of a rebate that was ending. Uptown gained a customer and I would refer anyone to do business with them. read more

These guys in service are great!! Tire low on air..pulled in late Friday July 4th weekend...No problem..took care of it right away ..I was going to make an appointment for an oil change at a later date ..they offered to just take care of it right away.While I was waiting ( starting to look for a new car not sure) took a couple for a ride and mentioned that the years of great experiences here will be a big part in my decision as to purchasing from UPTOWN when my wife and I narrow down a vehicle.GREAT JOB again. read more

EXCELLENT SERVICE!!!!! I guess that some people want oil changes for a $1.00. Maybe they could find a place that would sell mechanics $ 30,000.00 of tools for a $ 100.00 and maybe they could get the gas company to heat the dealer ship for $2.00 a month. I have used this dealership several times for basic oil changes in the past. Now that I own a Jeep I have only used them to service our vehicle. I am very pleased with their service department. On my last visit I wrote up my slip and did the drop off plan.... They call to verify some of the information I had written down just to make sure we were on the same page before doing anything.... I am completely satisfied with my recent experience . After working in the service dept my self for 5 years, there is no doubt in my mind where to go to have my van serviced . Not only was my van fixed right , they had it done in way less time than I thought it was going to take. They were great to deal with in Service. It's hard to find good employees like I witnessed they were. When I was there An Elderly couple pulled in and had low tire pressure warning. They took an employee off a job and quickly had him fill their tires, I thought that was excellent customer service, along with the quick and great service I had done! read more

We always get our oil changes at Uptown. We purchase the package so the oil change is $25 per change. Everyone has been very good about going over anything that they find that is needing attention and if it needs to be addressed immediately or can wait till the next service time. I bought a jeep from Gary at Uptown recently. I would like to say that the salesman was wonderful. He made sure that everything was good with the vehicle and that I was happy with it.
