Uptown Coffee has become one of my favorite local spots. The staff is always incredibly pleasant, and I've truly enjoyed getting to know both the team and owners, Kaylea and Jordan. The customer service is consistently excellent, the quality is fantastic, and there's always an amazing selection of artisan baked goods--often with something fresh coming right out of the oven. I'm a huge fan of the Watermelon Refresher and the Iced Americano with caramel cold foam. Most recently, I ordered lemonade from Uptown Coffee for my bridal shower signature cocktail, and it was absolutely wonderful. It paired perfectly with my rhubarb gin and was a huge hit with our guests. They are always a phone call away when I need a box of coffee (hot or iced!) for guests coming from out of town. If you're looking for great coffee, delicious baked goods, and genuinely kind people, Uptown Coffee never disappoints. read more

Last weekend, I visited Uptown Coffee for the first time for a meet up with a small group. There were four of us. It was a busy Sunday, but luckily we found two tables outside to sit. (there are tables inside and a ledge by the storefront window). You order at the counter. The baristas were all friendly and cool that day. All their pastries looked good (many were already sold out), but I'm glad I got the Nutella Crumb Cake - perfection. I was going to get a latte, but right before I ordered I saw a hot and cold coffee specials sign. I went with the chocolate and coconut hot coffee. Very good! read more

I was heading home after sampling ethnic food shops in Paterson/Garfield. I wanted some delicious coffee to go with a Polish donut. Found Uptown Coffee on Yelp. Really nice modern and clean shop with good seating. Nice staff behind the counter. Great choices beverage wise but once I see pour over on the menu, my choice is made. Appreciated the patience of the staff member, as it's more labor intensive than the other options. The Sumatran beans were perfect, nice and robust cup of coffee! I can't sing the praises of this place enough!! Everything is so fresh and delicious here. Whenever I'm in New Jersey, I try to come by and see what they have fresh and new. ALL of the baked goods are yummy! The chicken sandwich is my new Favorite !! The sandwich is so delicious, Not too heavy on the mayo just right on the fresh sourdough. Last time I had the banana bread it was amazing as well.! The people behind the counter, making the food and preparing the coffee are always pleasant friendly. This feels like a real family oriented spot. Feels like everyone knows everyone. The price is all beyond fair and the bathroom is always clean. What a gem!! read more

Heading to the mall and looking for a coffee shop to try I wound up here (and would return after another mall trip). Easier to park than I expected. There's street parking and a lot in back. I like how they offer different flavored coffee and have a nice selection of drink sizes at great prices! On my first visit I ordered the teddy graham latte, a special. I later regretted not getting the almond joy flavored coffee of the day. I love coconut! On my next visit I ordered an iced coffee with raspberry and white mocha. I originally asked for mocha but white mocha was suggested instead. Delicious! I also got a slice of pineapple coconut cake that just came out of the oven. This address has had many coffee shops over the years and Uptown Cafe has to be the best one EVER. Finally stopped in recently for a double espresso to go. It was the best I've had in a long time ( including well known restaurants) While waiting on line I noticed some yummy looking baked items. I had to get the pistachio crumb cake. A large piece was given and it was awesome! Even the next day when i finished this massive piece it was still so fresh and not dried out at all. Plain atmosphere. A few customers working on their laptops. Pleasant enough. Seemed like a lot of staff there the day I went. Person at register was very friendly. Street parking. read more

The pistachio crumb cake is to die for! It's a must try. The zucchini bread isn't to be slept on either. The special sandwiches change and so far all the chicken salad variations have been great. The coffee is good and the specials change daily. The staff is very friendly and always willing to greet with a smile. I'm someone who brews her own coffee every morning at home happily however for a couple of weeks I have had a hankering for chai latte but wanted to find a place that did it well and I came across this spot. Came on a Saturday morning and it was a lively atmosphere. Very cute and clean with tables and comfortable seats to hang. It was excellent although I and a few people asked for it to be heated because it got cold when they put in the milk. Will definitely return. read more

Where has this coffee shop been all of my life?! I stopped by Uptown Coffee on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Two things stood out to me: 1.) Their prices are very reasonable and lower than other local coffee shops 2.) Their drinks come in a variety of sizes I ordered an iced macchiato, guava lemonade, and chocolate chip pistachio brownie. The macchiato was strong, so it gets a 5/5. The brownie was so moist and I was a big fan of the combination of pistachio and chocolate. The only thing I didn't like was the lemonade. It just tasted like sugary water. I barely tasted the tartness of the lemons and the guava syrup didn't do much for overall flavor. While I was waiting for my order, I took some time to look at all of the decor. This cafe has such a cozy ambiance! The furniture is modern and minimalistic. I felt like I was in a close friend's living room. The natural lighting, plants, and fireplace create the perfect environment to study/work in or catch up with a friend. They even have games and books on some of the tables. Lastly, I want to give a special shout out to the barista who served me. She was so welcoming and warm. The best coffee shop in this part of Bergen county! The ambiance, the vibe, and the employees all scream small town coffee shop. However, they also mix it up with unique menu items and complex types of coffee. The have board games and comfortable couch chairs for lounging. The WiFi is also strong, with the bandwidth to support a full coffee shop of computer users. Would highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere to work or study. read more

Absolutely outstanding! The iced blueberry latte was next-level delicious -- seriously, it was the bomb! I have no idea what kind of magic they're brewing, but the flavor was pure enchantment. Easily the highlight of my morning! I also grabbed three pastries for the family (because sharing is caring, right?) and couldn't resist picking up a bag of their blueberry coffee beans to take home. Iced latte and red velvet latte. Red velvet latte was so hot it burned my tongue, definitely a lot hotter than normal hot lattes so be cautious. For the iced latte...when i saw what was poured into the plastic cup, it filled up 75 percent of a medium cup...before any milk was added. this is odd for a latte and i had asked if she accidentally used coffee instead because it not just filled super high for two shots...but it was pure black, rather than seeing any crema. she assured me it was espresso. the taste was burnt. I would try it again though since i usually have high hopes BUT maybe i'll stick with a normal coffee instead. i give it three because it's my first attempt but also i tried two separate lattes. read more

Super cute spot. Been meaning to check it out since it replaced Stray Cat. It's definitely a different and more polished ambiance than the previous. The menu has some similarities, like the blackout coffee. Not too many people on an early Monday afternoon. Only one person on staff who was very friendly and knew their stuff. Was a bit confused about this at first but flavored beans are different from flavored syrups. I got an iced latte with a cinnamon bun syrup which was decent. This was a sweet treat for me and a reward for being up so early! This place is AMAZING and the coffee is super good. The place looks renovated and it makes you feel at home, it also has a nice fireplace. To me it's all about the details. I buy my coffee beans here to take home. It is the best coffee I have found in the US. It is roasted by Moon Doggie in Westwood, and if I time it right I can get coffee just a couple of days out of the roaster. I grind my own just before drinking; the staff knows my coffee bean preferences (Sumatra) and works to keep it in stock for me. Super friendly staff and comfortable, well equipped seating and entertaining game boards, comfortable tables. I see a lot of customers working on computers on every visit. read more

Uptown coffee has amazing coffee options and baked goods. I had their pumpkin crumb cake and it was perfect. I always love going here to do work and it has such a cozy vibe. I only ran into one issue here where I had placed my stuff down to order up front and someone took my seat without asking. It's unfortunate that some customers here do things like taking your chair without asking and moved my stuff, which they shouldn't be touching in the first place. It gives off such a negative vibe and affects the ambience for the cafe. But overall the cafe itself is good, but some of these customers are not polite, please be wary. read more
