This a cute little Cafe with tasty breakfast options. You order at the counter and they bring everything to out to you. We choose to get the Uptown and the Jam On It sandwiches. Both were good but the sandwiches seemed a bit empty with lots of bread and not much inside besides sauce. It seemed like maybe 1 piece of bacon on each sandwich, so a 2nd or 3rd piece would have helped fill out the sandwich. We added a side of potatoes which could have used some more griddle time to get more of a crunch. Our cappuccino was great. Best food experience this year (and yes I know it's late October!) Dan and his staff serve up the tastiest, innovative, and fresh food in an unassuming, centrally located, modern diner-style restaurant in St Pete. Their specialty is breakfast and lunch, but a few times a year they open for dinner and it is ALWAYS EPIC. This time was no exception! I brought two friends from Boston with me for the October Feast, and they were delighted! We wanted to order everything from the special menu (see photo) and settled on Pierogies, Muenster mash grilled cheese (with mushrooms and onions... my favorite of the evening!), the pumpkin chili, and the schnitzel with potatoes and purple cabbage. Every single dish was so delicious, there wasn't a morsel left on anyone's plate. Today, my friends are still raving about the meal and planning their next visit to try out the regular menu. Many thanks to Dan and his staff for a wonderful evening! (Note that my only regret is that my photos can't properly convey the incredible smell and taste for all of you!) P.s. Found a little neighborhood gem in St.Pete that we drove to today for brunch! Some indoor and outdoor seating available after you place your order at the register. We enjoyed the pancakes and the Uptown sandwich (egg, tomatoes, greens, cheese and sauce) as well as an iced toffee coffee and they use Monin syrups (The Best!)! The staff is super friendly and a lot of regulars were greeted by name! They are a part of the In Kind app so you can earn a % of your total back! A fun experience! Quaint little bistro tucked just outside of downtown, Uptown Eats is a charming spot that punches well above its weight. I started with the Toffee Coffee, which lived up to its name--both bitter and sweet, with a rich and creamy kick that made for a bold wake-up call. For breakfast, my companion ordered two eggs with non-sausage gravy and a jalapeño cheddar scone (there were lots of biscuit and scone options, but she went spicy). The soft scrambled eggs were a standout--whipped smooth and perfectly blended with creamy Gouda. Paired with a small side of fruit--just enough watermelon and a slice of orange to brighten the plate--it was balanced and satisfying. The Hot Hot Heat sandwich was a monster. Over-easy egg with a gloriously oozing yolk, chorizo, and fresh jalapeños packed real heat and flavor. Not for the faint of heart! Yes, it took a little while to get our food, but the thoughtful prep and attention to presentation made it more than worth the wait. I ordered the iced aerated espresso which piqued my interest because I'd never seen an aerated coffee on a menu before. It has no milk, just sweetened lightly with honey and lemon. It was fantastic- perfect amount of sweetness for me and just such a unique bevvie. Would 100% order again! The woman who brought us our coffees told me that she actually came up with the menu item. Uptown Eats is about 1 mile from the Vinoy, where we're staying. Hubby and I decided to walk to breakfast this morning and it was well worth the walk. We ordered at the counter and they brought the food out to us. We both ordered the Two Eggs plate. The fried eggs were perfectly cooked as we ordered. We selected a biscuit, grits and cheese, and a side order of roasted potatoes. The biscuit was the best I've ever had. I wish I would have ordered extras (next time for sure!!). The grits were very flavorful as were the potatoes. We also ordered decaf mocha lattes which were so good. The weather was perfect, so we sat outside. They had a steady stream of customers, which makes sense once you've eaten there. This place deserves their almost 5 stars. I'll be sure to eat here again next time I'm in town!! read more

A true neighborhood cafe offering a variety of menu items; pastries and cookies, breakfast and lunch, and of course all the different caffeinated beverages. Pro tip, don't snag a table before ordering at the counter. Place your order at the counter first and then find a table either indoor our outdoor. The staff will bring your order to you. Food items are made to order from scratch. And it's noticeable. Their BLT came with a flavorful rosemary-maple-Dijon aioli that caught me off guard in the best way. They had a cheesesteak on special that was pretty good. Not a fan favorite and a bit messy. Their menu changes quite often making each visit a surprise. Uptown Eats is worth the visit. read more

We stopped here for breakfast before exploring St. Pete on our last full day of our Florida trip (Thursday morning). It was not very busy and it was great weather. I think we missed a lot of the crowds in Florida in general from most people going for spring break a couple weeks before (we went Memorial Day week). They are pet friendly outside and have several tables to choose from, all nice and shaded. You order inside, but then they will bring everything out to you, which is really nice since we had our dogs. We each got an uptown cooler and it was the perfect amount of ratio of sweet and coffee, not too overpowering, not too bitter. We got a coffee cake and a cheddar jalapeño scone to share. They were both really good in their own ways, but completely different to compare to each other over which was "best." I recommend both! My husband ordered the uptown bowl and I ordered the greens n things bowl. We both opted to top them with an over easy egg and they were sososo good. We ordered a side of bacon to give to the dogs and a fruit plate for us to share. The fruit plate was the best of our whole trip- it had bananas, watermelon slices, blueberries, strawberries, orange slices, and nectarines/peaches. They were all so fresh and perfectly ripe. I would 100% stop in here again if we vacationed nearby or in St. Pete again. read more

This is an updated review of the drastic change in prices and portion size. We've been eating here for 4 years and thoroughly enjoy the food quality and service. The downturn is absurd price increases and reduced portion size in scones and bowls. The photos I have posted along with others speak volumes. The Bowl Breakfasts have increased from $8-9 to currently $15-16 in 4 years, and the scones are noticeably smaller, and the price has almost doubled. Portion size should have remained the same during price increases, but increases of such drastic dollar amounts and portions reduced is a recipe for business decline. Visiting St Pete for the week. My Wife and with two lil fur ba iea in tow visited twice for breakfast. And we will be back before hitting the road back to Miami. Found on Yelp, and it was in walking in distance to the Airbnb we were staying at. They are very customer oriented and dog friendly. There is seating inside and out. The food is healthy and delicious. You can't go wrong picking anything off the menu. Front the coffee to scones, to the bowls or sandwiches it was all amazing. I have reviewed Uptown before, but in my experience it pays to keep posting when a cafe is not only good, but STAYS good! Dan and the gang just keep hitting the home runs here. Still consistently the best breakfast/brunch in St. Pete - worth the wait when crowded, friendly staff, gobsmacking bakery case, inventive menu, different and determined to stay that way! I know this isn't everyone's taste, but a "Jam on it with Spam and collared greens" is my favorite and it is epic. read more
