Addicted to the Bean is not a coffee shop. It is a support group for people who accidentally became emotionally dependent on breakfast sandwiches. I stopped in for "just a coffee" and somehow left with: a California Egg & Cheese on ciabatta, a spinach-feta croissant, hash browns, and enough caffeine to hear colors. First off, whoever created the Breakfast Club sandwich deserves their own holiday. Egg, turkey, bacon, American cheese, tomato on buttered sourdough?? That's not breakfast. That's therapy with a pickle spear. And the California Egg & Cheese with guacamole? Absolutely disrespectful. I took one bite and immediately started nodding like I understood cryptocurrency. Then came the Mozzarella Basil Avocado Toast, which sounds like something a yoga instructor orders after saying "I'm really trying to stay balanced lately." Meanwhile I added bacon because balance is important. Also... the menu saying breakfast is served all day is one of the most emotionally supportive things I've seen in years. Nothing heals a rough afternoon quite like ordering eggs at 2:47 PM while pretending your life is together. The coffee? Dangerous. I now understand why the place is called Addicted to the Bean because after one iced coffee I suddenly: answered emails, cleaned my car, forgave my enemies, and briefly considered running for public office. The vibes are immaculate too. Chill local coffee shop energy where everyone either: 1. works remotely, 2. owns a golden retriever, or 3. just came in for a bagel and accidentally stayed two hours. Shoutout to the cranberry pecan chicken salad too. Whoever decided chicken salad needed cranberries and pecans was clearly operating on a higher intellectual plane than the rest of us. And the prices?? In this economy?? I was expecting the avocado toast alone to require a small down payment. Final thoughts: If you live on Isla and haven't been here yet, what are you even doing? This place has: elite breakfast sandwiches, solid lunch options, fresh pastries, coffee strong enough to restart your ancestry, and enough cozy energy to make you briefly believe you could become "a morning person." 10/10. I really wanted to love this place. You walk in and everything seem like you're about to get a fantastic coffee and a killer breakfast sandwich. I ordered a Cafe latte add vanilla and vanilla cold foam. I also ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg and cheddar and paid extra for 2 slices of bacon. A side of hashbrown. Was the food edible? Yes however the croissant was stale, smoothed and chewy. The bacon was non existent just a few tiny crumbles. The egg was fine and ample cheddar but the avocado.... Oh the avocado. So gross. It had that flavor once an avocado has passed it's prime... Like paste yuck. Had to scrape any evidence of it off my sandwich. The hash brown was a wedge, not hot, not crispy, more like a sponge. Zero flavor. The Cafe latte.... Not a Cafe latte. Stopped here by chance on day to grab breakfast before my workout and I was delighted to see they had a great selection of breakfast sandwiches. I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich on sourdough and it was made fresh to order and didn't take but a few minutes to get my order. It was hot and delicious. The iced matcha was really good too. Is officially my new breakfast spot when in St Pete! The vibe is giving coastal jersey shore with great employees. The prices are great and the food is even better! I was shocked when i snuck a bite of my husband's Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel with Pastrami Egg n Cheese, WOW I WANTED TO STEAL IT. I ended up having to leave to make my appointment and had to get a refund because my drink was still not ready. from walking in to walking out was a half hour wasted with no beverage. In town visiting my parents and went here for breakfast. I got a plain bagel with cream cheese and my boyfriend got an everything bagel with cream cheese and a cold brew. It was the best bagel and best cream cheese I have ever had (and I get it everywhere). My boyfriend agrees and also said the cold brew was amazing. It was two girls and they took care of us and answered our questions. We basically just wanted some baked goods. So we ordered a few sweets or a snack with drinks. Before I forget, Jackobi waited on me twice this week as I was visiting the area. He's an asset to this locally-owned business w/ its female owner (Cathy). He was VERY friendly. I enjoyed our conversations & his professionalism. I do not drink coffee & never have, so remember that as you read the review & count the stars. I do; however, love scones & found these to be delicious-- harder on the outside; soft on the inside; & flavorful. At $3.25 each, the White Chocolate Raspberry scone & the Cinnamon scone were EXCELLENT. The Blueberry scone was good. There were other desserts available: muffins, donuts, croissants, cinnamon rolls, macaroons, cookies, Frappuccino, 7 varieties of smoothies, & 12 Hershey's ice-cream flavors. Other foods include Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches (w/ bacon, ham, sausage, & turkey); Sandwiches (chicken salad, ham, & turkey); Bagels; & Quiches. Those are known as "Light Bites." However, what most patrons stop in for is the locally sourced fresh brewed coffee Expresso; flavored mocha Cappachino (30 flavors, including three sugar-free varieties); & organic & fair trade certified hot & iced Teas. Sizes range from 12 to 20 oz. There are dairy alternatives @ $.60-- almond, coconut, oat, & soy. There's also bottled waters & sodas, etc. Open 7 AM till 9 PM weekdays & 7 AM till 6 PM Sundays, there are six small wooden tables inside & 3 just outside the front entrance. Basically any place with wifi would do. This place had good reviews so I figured it was as good a place as any! I have been trying to limit my caffeine intake so unfortunately, I didn't try the coffee. I know, that's like a vegan going to a BBQ restaurant and writing a review. That's why I'm rating this based on more than what I tried. I would give the chicken salad sandwich two stars. The croissants are grocery store quality, Not great. I kind of assumed this when looking at the ready-made sandwiches in the case, but since they didn't have any sandwiches on any other type of bread I decided I really didn't have a choice. The chicken salad itself was also a bit subpar. It was a little too sweet. Overall I would advise people not to get it. So why four stars? I sat here working for about an hour and originally I was going to give this place three stars. I witnessed a string of locals who must come here often because they easily chatted with the woman behind the counter. The employee came out often and sat at tables with people. This really is a neighborhood establishment! It was kind of heartwarming to see. That's worth bumping it up a star. I was the only person sitting at a table for a majority of my time. There were a couple regulars who came in and out and a couple that sat at tables but don't worry if you think this place will be packed. I'd come back to try something else. It was such a happy fun friendly place to visit when the proud first owners opened. I am disappointed in the diminishing quality and serving size of ice cream and elimination of Gelato altogether. The desserts can be stale and dry, and the staff lacks the welcoming smiles of years gone by. To the owners, you have a lot of tourist customers, but remember to keep the quality high if you want neighborhood customers to return. read more

Stopped by after a trip to Ft Desoto beach. We ordered 3 ice creams and a mocha frappe. This was definitely below what was expected of an average ice cream shop . The mocha frappe taste like a frozen Hershey's milkshake. They just use powder and milk , almost like Hersheys chocolate milk, but frozen . Usually there is coffee added in where you taste the coffee and as the business sign says 'addicted to the Bean' we assume that is what they specialize in. The ice cream scoops were four bites at most for a one scoop ice cream. Maybe have a better sign to say this is 1 scoop , 2 scoop, etc with the visual cup size . The boys were not very happy with their miniature size ice cream scoops . We frequent ice cream shops along the beach , but their portion sizes are very SMALL here .
