I have never left a review like this since I prefer to give attention and praise to great businesses. This experience is the exception. Went in to have tips removed by a "professional" rather than trying to do it myself. Michael took me as a walk in. He aggressively used an e-file to remove the tips, glue & polish. I told him it was painful but he kept going. My nails are totally destroyed & extremely painful now. I can barely touch anything. The edges are ripping with the slightest touch. I am devastated. I will NEVER go to this place again. This will take months to heal & now I'm just hoping I don't get an infection in my nail beds. read more

A few years ago, i would've told you Uptown Nails was the best place to go. They always were so friendly and i would leave pleased every time. Unfortunately, this is not my experience anymore. I think they have lost many good people (not sure why) and it's caused their business to crumble some what. My sister and i came here giving them another chance about a week ago. I had got a pedicure and full set by Kathy. My nails and toes looked decent and she was a sweet lady. No complaints on my end. I wasn't upset walking away. My sisters hands looked terrible. Michael had done hers. She wanted a dark blue french tip. By the time she was done, she had blue nail polish smeared all over her hands from where he'd wipe the excess polish off. He had put her hands through the UV light already since the nails were gel. So we couldn't just get it off with polish remover. Her french tips were half way down her nail making them not look so pleasing. We had paid a total of $165. My sister was so upset about her nails after leaving so we called to see if we could come back the next day to get them fixed. They allowed it. Next day we come in, you can tell their attitudes were high. They ended up just painting her whole nails blue. And were able to get the excess polish off. It's been a week now since we've gotten them done. My nails are now lifting off my fingers. I've already had to glue one back on. I'll never go back to uptown nails. $165 for nails to last a week and to have to come back the next day to fix a disaster. Just wanted to put this out here before you end up like the rest with paying a good amount for a terrible service. read more

I am so disappointed. I spent $130 to get a manicure and pedicure and I did not get the quality that I expected. I was hurt various times during the process and bled twice. I showed Tiffany a picture of how I wanted my nails and she still gave me the wrong shape which she corrected without a problem. however, when it came to paining my nails, she didn't put much attention to details and did not pain my nails fully one the sides. . She also used too much gel powder and did not fill my nails down enough. My nails were left very thick. This also happened with the toe nail that she "repaired" on my big toe. not only did she leave my nail thick, nipped me on the toe and left it dirt. I am so upset. read more

The manicure looked okay in the dim lights of the salon but today as I was out and about I noticed how uneven and different thicknesses my nails are. I sat down and some broken nails were on my seat and the manicure table....my cue as to I should have walked out but instead I waited for my manicure. My nails turned out nice....will give them that. As I waited for my turn for a pedicure, I watched as a few clients got up from the pedicure seats, the nail techs drained the water from the basin and then JUST REFILLED the basin for the next client as the place was busy....they literally DID NOT SANITIZE the basins between pedicures. I wanted to vomit, I asked for a plastic liner which they accommodated. As I sat for one hour watching clients come and go, not one tech sprayed and cleaned the pedicure basin...isn't this a health code violation????? Never again. read more

My nails were shaped horribly and the matte polish was placed to were you could still see the regular gel polish at the beginning of the nail bed. Both her and my daughter got blisters and infections from the neglect of his staff and unsanitary conditions. Only giving 1 star because I have to....Probably the worst manicure I've ever had in my entire life. First of all, the bowl I was soaking my hands in had left over dust or skin attached to the rocks in the water bowl. Second, the file used to file my nails was so rough it cut the edges of my skin around my nail beds and left my nails very jagged and rough. Third, the cuticle cutter was pulled from a drawer un-sanitized with someone's skin still left inside of it. Fourth, the nail tech just dragged the cuticle cutter across my nail, taking layers of my nail and skin with it rather than cutting the skin across my nail bed little by little. It's been about 5 minutes now and guess what TADAAA, I'm done!!!! My nails had to be repainted twice because they were full of bubbles and GUESS what 3rd time is a charm because they are STILL full of bubbles and some aren't even painted completely nor is the paint clean around my nails. Looks like I painted my own nails with my eyes closed. Either these nails techs didn't go to school or just don't give a sh!t because it took two people to do my nails and they still look horrible. Don't go here. The absolute worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. First, I walked in and said I wanted a regular manicure/pedicure. And they said do you want gel? I said no. I'm used to them asking if I want a more expensive service, but they did not let up! All through my pedicure they kept asking and then right before she started my pedicure she asked again if I wanted gel and I said no. Let's move onto the pedicure, she cut my big toe so bad, she had to use almost an entire bottle of the nail cleaner. When I go home, I noticed cuts on my feet that I didn't have before. Lucky for her I didn't notice while I was there. The nail polish on my toes is smudged and bubbly. Manicure time: I should've left after the pedicure, but I didn't notice how bad it was until I got home. Also, I needed my nails done for an event and didn't have time to go elsewhere. At first, I was happy, but it's been 5 days, and here's what has happened since. The nail polish looks bubbly on 3 fingers, it's chipped on 7 fingers, and both of my thumbs are infected one even has pus coming out. Don't go here!! I was very thankful there was another nail salon open besides Walmart was open on a Sunday I usually go to Natural Nails located next to Froggers! And I will wait till Monday if all my nails and my toenails fell off I was still wait to go to Natural Nails I will never go back to Uptown nails!!!! Yes I understand my mother and I got there at 345 she just wanted a French pedicure on her toes I wanted a fill and pedicure. While my nails are all finished about to get ready to get painted I hear the lady that supposed to be doing my toes speaking in Chinese/Japanese I don't know what their language was all I heard was lady say hurry hurry so the man doing my nails is trying to rush cuz the lady susposely doing my feet wants him to paint my nails while she does my feet, FYI I'm trying to relax when I get my feet done in the massage chair and you're not going to have me sit there with the gel light machine on my stomach and I already told them at 4:40 cuz I understand I work in that business where you don't want people to come in late, that I can come back tomorrow to get my toes done after my feet are already wet and I'm in the chair and they get mad because" I wanted to do my nails at a actually nail table instead of having an LED light on my stomach"!!! the lady that was rushing my guy to do my nails, okay your feet dry you can do it tomorrow so then I go back to the table, not going to lie you got Joey did a great job on my nails, the owner was well aware of the situation , then told me to get a pedicure after my mom is already done saying he would do itself... I have been coming here for some time now, the pedicures were to die for. Can't say I feel the same way now. I decided to add a full set to my pedicure, the guy Davis, had no clue as to what I was wanting, he cut my nails, and tried to paint what was left with a white tip, we won't even discuss that fact of the cuts I received. The owner had to take over. I was pleased at first, about 3 weeks later, came in for a fill, the owner rushed through, didn't even clean under the nails. So today, I go back to for a pedicure and a fill. As the girl starts to do my pedicure that owner comes over and tells me he is going to switch workers so that the other customer can have mine since he is a man, and shouldn't be getting a pedicure by a man. I said no, as the one he was trying to switch me with was the one who doesn't understand a word I am saying, and cut me! So now onto the fill, I got switched again, although I can say this guy was good, I wasn't pleased with being told that my original nails are showing through the white tips because the owner didn't build it up enough. And that the only way to fix it was to put a new set on for 30.00 - What are you kidding me? These haven't even been on 2 months, and you want me to pay for another full set, and full price at that? I told him no I wasn't doing that, and asked if I could just have them painted. He said yes, but has to be dark colors to hide the imperfections. So now I have them done, he filed them down shorter than what they were, when I specifically said I wanted to keep them long. Final result, nails are already chipped. my toe is red and hurting, its obvious that she cut me at the time of my pedicure, and yet another 40.00 spent - I am very disappointed, and its pretty obvious that telling the owner does no good. No, I'm not looking for a freebie, and I even tip when not happy as I feel if you do a service you should get paid something. But this is just ridiculous.
