I tried this place only because I was in the area and thought I'd give it a try. I only wanted a regular manicure and right away they tried to talk me into a no chip which I kindly refused. There were limited colors and I was disappointed by the selection. I am from the Chicago suburbs and have had many manicures. This was nothing like them. I had a male who appeared to have a slight tremor while painting my nails. I thought maybe he'd clean them up around the cuticle area and sides with polish remover but that didn't happen, instead he used his fingernail. I paid $20. So, if you are looking for a good manicure I would not recommend this place. read more

Such a wonderful place to be. Very relaxing. Kathy and Philip are friendly and add to the relaxing experience. I had been looking for someone who could do Gel nails. Not just gel on an acrylic nail. Kathy is a pro at all gel nails. She builds on your nail so it doesn't fall off. I don't need to get a Gil for three weeks. Their prices are comparable to everyone around them but their work is so much better. I'm so glad I found them. Family run business pretty awesome folks. read more

What a wonderful experience this was. My family and I were camping at Lake Griffin State Park and we had promised our two little divas (6 and 3) a pedicure while on the trip. We used Yelp to find this spot just outside the villages. The staff was extremely supportive of our little girls. The three year old could barely fit on the chair but they did their best to make her comfortable and to understand the process. The kids had an absolute blast picking out nail colors and watching their feet and hands get worked on. My wife and I got the pedicure deluxe and it was great. Definitely a longer massage on the legs than most places and they used hot stones which was an unexpected bonus. The owner's son was there and he is an outstanding young man who was polite and engaging. I wish our local spot had the level of professionalism and engagement that Mckayla's showed us on this day. Made a Saturday afternoon appointment at this salon to get gel manis ($30 each) with my mom and a spa pedicure ($25) for myself. Spa pedicure was especially great--took her time and paid attention to detail. Massage chair was solid too. I overheard another woman who was in the chair as long as I was for mani and pedi just for her nails giving very specific instructions. She seemed happy. Bring cash for tip. read more

This place was clean, they were able to see me right away, and the foot massage was . They had a large collection of gel and SNS colors. They pay attention to details , for example they use nice decorative stones in the bottom of the bowl that you soak your hands in. I will choose McKayla again next time I'm in town. I do wish they had a larger selection of OPI color choices for gel. read more

Made appts for the mani-pedi for my teenage daughter and her friend while we were visiting my parents in the Villages. I don't know if the rushed job was due to them being teenagers or because it was a busy Saturday. The nail polish was not carefully applied to the edges of the nails. The polish seemed thinly applied. I asked why didn't they complain and they said they didn't feel English was a welcomed language there. The second the last stroke of top coat was applied the "manager" was telling them to come pay. Fumbling for cash and credit cards with wet nails are not really the best match. I guess next year we'll try Walmart that came highly recommended by my parent's neighbors. read more

I came in around 5:15 on a weekday for a pedicure. They put me in the chair where I waited for over 30 minutes. 3 people came in after me and they were all given manicures while I waited. They barely acknowledged me. A terrible way to treat a customer! I will not be back. read more

I finally found a nail salon in Lady Lake! I think I went to about everyone in town and was never happy. They were either rude, cut my skin, or just plain didn't know what they were doing. Jenny is wonderful and quick with nails! She was busy last time I went so her husband did my nails and he was just as talented! Wow! This was a nice surprise to my recent move to The Villages! I was very nervous about finding a good nail person for pink and white, since I had used someone in my former town for over 10 years. I did some phone interviews at different shops and Kevin convinced me to try him. He did an excellent job and was very attentive to my desires to give me the perfect set of pink and whites. Two visits and I'm hooked. My fist visit was for a "fill". Good job/friendly staff and reasonable pricing. Second was for both pedi/mai. The BEST pedi I've had in years. Could not believe how pampered I felt or how great my nails looked!!!! FAN for life!!! Oh yes, even took a friend there to try their mani and she's hooked also. My nails look amazing. Their selection of gel colors is limited, but they did a fantastic job with shaping and polishing my nails. Today was my first time at McKayla Nails & Spa! The salon is very clean and bright. The service was excellent. I was greeted in a very nice manner by McKayla. The technician who gave me the pedicure and fill was very thorough. He actually took his time which is something that had been missing from my former salon. My nails look great and my feet feel very good. I plan to return to Mckayla's in about 2-3 weeks and will let you know if things are still good. I came here with my mother to treat her to her first ever manicure! What! How a woman goes 74 years without a manicure is beyond me, but she throughly enjoyed it. Her manicurist did an excellent job and was very sweet with her. On the other hand, the pedicure was not good. I think the pedicurist was a little inexperienced. She clipped my nails very, very short and then ripped out a piece of cuticle that made my big toe bleed. I even muttered, "ouch" but she pushed my food into the water and didn't even look up. Sure enough, by the next day, it was infected. I could barely walk and considered going to Urgent Care. I am a resident of Australia so without American health insurance. The thought of enduring the medical system without insurance was too terrifying. I considered calling McKayla and telling them about my misfortune, but most likely they would not have taken it seriously or thought I wanted to hit them with a lawsuit. Which was not my concern, but the infection was quite painful. Eventually, after five days of Neosporin, band aids, and epson salt foot soaks, the damage was undone. So, I cannot recommend the pedicures, even if the other people working there are more competent. It's just not worth the risk. read more

I went there a couple months ago and this was the worst experience for a pedi ever! I asked them to pain a simple butterfly and asked them to do a certain flower; one of the girls laughed at me and I pointed to the wall and said "there is a pic of one on your wall" she didnt' seem to be familiar w/the flower then laughed again when I pointed on the wall. She was sarcastic, rude spoke to the other girls while she laughed and in her own language; she barely could speak english. I spent over 2hrs in there. Another girl supposedly a supervisor joked with the original girl had to repaint my nails because the first one just wanted to put stickers on my nails because she didnt know how to paint what I asked for; the second girl did a better job but the butterfly looked like a leaf and when I asked her, she also laughed with the other girl speaking in their own language. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! They still charged me full price! read more
