I love acrylic nails and I could never find a store to go to regularly for my fills. I went in and got my old acrylics removed and let them put a new full set. They did an outstanding job. I get the coffin shape which for some reason other nail salons can't execute correctly. The shape is PERFECT. The women who did my nails were very friendly and kind. Though they had many customers they put in quality time and made sure every nail was up to their standards. HIGHLY recommend! 110% reccomend you try! my new go-to salon. i usually have my favorite go-to salon, Wynn that i'll get my nails done at, but since i needed a last minute apt they weren't able to squeeze me in. so i called a bunch of places and this salon was able to get me in and i am so glad i went here. the service is amazing, friendly staff, complimentary drinks and snacks. the difference at this salon i felt that it was spacious, clean and refreshing, it didn't feel tight and overcrowded like most salons. i met the owner, Sue and she did my nails. she payed so much attention to small intricate details, touching it up constantly while working on my nails that no salon has ever done. they always felt like in a rush but this time it was different. i absolutely loved how they turned out and will defiantly be visiting again! also the prices were very good and definitely worth the results. read more

Honestly had some hopes for this place. My friends get their nails done here (obviously before COVID), so I decided to try it out since the place I usually go to was booked up. The COVID precautions they were taking were nice. There is tape on the seats you are not allow to sit in, they have the plastic divider between nail artist and customer, they are also wearing masks and gloves. Also, they have masks for sale at the front for $2 if you forget yours. All good signs when I walked in. Got my nails done and I was the only customer in the salon at the time, which I was actually grateful for (also slightly shocked). Now for the actual nails.... meh I've had better. I got a full set and they are kind of lumpy, there is acrylic on my skin, I think there is dust in my acrylic because there are brown specs when the paint is white, and some of the acrylic didn't take to my nail for some reason? Next up, time to pay. They up-charged my full set due to COVID, which in part I get, but at the same time I would've like to know this in advance and not after I had got my nails done. Would I ever go back? Probably not. No hard feelings I just don't like the way my nails were done plus probably could have got them done better with a better price and I would have liked to known about the up-charge before hand. read more

First of all I purposely picked this spot because of the Reviews that I saw on here, and when I went in asking for a design similar to one of the people on here they told me that they didn't any nail arts like that there. I proceeded to show them the pictures on their yelp page and then they told me that the person who does nail art was on vacation. I've then showed them the design that I want it which I will upload below. The girl said she could do it. I will upload what she did on my nails. After I left not at all happy with the quality of my nails, within an hour and 15 minutes the first nail broke. I came here a week after getting my nails done at another salon and HATING IT. the other place left so much space between my nail and the cuticle and the sides and the tips were not painted so it just looked sloppy, and they did the wrong color. Even though I showed them a sample from their own yelp page of something they've done. I bet she heard you" My lady was like, "Oh, I'm sure she didn't", but yet kept her head down the entire time. I feel badly for Issaquah, if this is what the ladies in this town feel is "the best." Suffice it to say that I will be driving to either Duvall or Redmond to get my nails done from this point forward. I was thoroughly unimpressed. They were not friendly, not accommodating, the salon was hotter than a brothel in summer, and I saw them turn away multiple people without asking them to come back at a different time - even with "walk-ins welcome" displayed in huge lettering on the door and in the front window. When I asked for an eyebrow wax (takes 5 min) after my sub-par services were complete, they just said, "Sorry, we are too busy...." after they rushed me through a pedicure and a shellac that I didn't request: I called this morning and asked for a gel fill. When I got there, they gave me a shellac, which is completely different. Now, I don't know what to do with these nails. They look horrible; full of lines and cracks, and completely uneven, different lengths. The top coat is already peeling off (9 hours later) and looks like old Cling Wrap. I'm pretty sure I will have to have them redone before the week is over. As for comfort (or lack thereof), the pedicure seats are worn out and exquisitely uncomfortable; it's like sitting on a wood platform for over an hour. The foot rests are also equally uncomfortable, and they place your feet deliberately in spots where the arches ache after just a few minutes. I have to admit that the pedicure (paint and trimming) was actually well done, but the massage left a lot to be desired. It felt like someone was rubbing a pack of wet gloves on my skin without pressure. There was also no hot towel, nor paraffin wax at the end. Very disappointed in the whole experience. I tried to use a gift certificate today that I bought on December 31st. They said it was only good for two months. I asked with everything going on and all the chaos if they would honor it anyways. They said no. Can't do anything about it. I only went there because I had a gift certificate. The last 4 times my daughter had been there (she will NEVER go back) they have cut her with a nail file and she ended up with infections every single time. Are you willing to risk your health in a clearly unclean and unsanitary salon!!! Especially with all the sickness we're experiencing? Also, the quality is extremely poor. Her nails would fall off AMD polish would chip off within days. I guess I'm glad they didn't honor it after all. I'll never go there and hopefully you won't either. read more

I'm pretty sure you would not want to visit Uptown Nails. Upon entering, you'll find the salon annoyingly clean, cheery, and filled with natural light. The plush massage seats at the pedicure stations are practically torturous, continuously pressing and kneading, from your head to thighs, for over an hour. The technicians are so sweet, helpful, and laid back. It would probably get on your nerves, too. Prices are great. I got a mani and pedi for $40. The no-tipping policy will surely send you off the edge. So, don't bother checking out Uptown Nails. You don't want to compete with me for a spot on their appointment book anyway. read more

Okay, I REALLY wanted to love this place after reading the reviews. REALLY wanted to. We have recently moved and the location is very convenient to me. I went last week and had my eyebrows done, and I will say this: She did an amazing job. She was meticulous, gentle and calming. Outstanding. However, the place isn't called Uptown Eyebrows. It is called Uptown Nails. My nails were uneven, there were multiple bubbles in the polish and when she left a gash in the middle of one nail and I pointed it out, she smiled and just put another coat of top coat on it. Also, she did not have me pay before applying the polish. (She did everything one hand at a time.) So, I had to try and get my payment out with soft nails. Yes, it is a no-tipping salon...but I would gladly pay the extra money in a tip for a job well done than sacrifice quality and save a few bucks. Yes, it is a $15 manicure...but I would rather drive to Bellevue and get a $15 manicure and pay the lady a good tip and have every detail noticed. read more

I always call and make an appointment and the last 2 times I have had to wait at least 20 minutes before being seated. What is the point of making an appointment? Update review*** Disappointed as I drive an hour to get my nails done. Long story short, they were trying to get done quickly. After glueing on the acrylic one lady on the left hand was filing before the acrylic powder and the other lady are the right hand was already putting acrylic powder!!! So one hand was filed natural nails the other hand was wide chunky nails. And they knew I was disappointed and said "oh it's fine! " so I had to get them redone in Miami where I was vacationing. Pros: - convenient location -great color selections - I didn't have to wait more than 5 mins Cons: - They chewed my ear out screaming in Vietnamese - Not very clean. They didn't sterilize the nail clippers from the last.She sprayed some Alcohol before using though. - Massage chairs were not very comfortable - Expensive than other similar services in the area. It usually cost me 30-35 for basic mani -padi in this area. Here it was 40 w/o tips. - Didn't massage my arms. I felt they are not caring to their customers. read more

Final update: After coming here for almost 3 years, my final opinion has been formed. My previous comments remain, however, I'd like to add that they have zero sense of time management. You can make an appointment, but since they only take your info 25% of the time, it's meaningless. When you walk in and they ask if you have an appointment I believe they're simply hoping you'll say no so they have an excuse to make you wait (although "walk ins are welcome"), because whether you say yes or no, it doesn't matter. They'll give you a wait estimate, then have you waiting double that with no update. Every time I've had an appointment, they'll ask me to wait 15 min., and I'll sit for at least a half hour. One time they let a walk-in family of three go before me when I had been waiting (WITH an apt.) I simply left, and went somewhere else. The sad thing is, despite ALL this they're still the best option in the area, hence why I've kept them my regular for years. "Positive" points include that they do a good job in the end, and don't charge much. read more

For the pass few times I've come for my nails I've been very satisfied with how they turned out. However, my more recent trips have been a little bit more disappointing, I always get acrylics and the past two times I've come there was quite a long wait even when I make an appointment ahead of time, the system they run on is not very organized. This last time I got my acrylics done almost every nail was uneven in length and shape; some were round, coffin, thick, and rigid. When I got home I had to file almost every single one to even them out. Maybe it's because two people switched off from working on my nails but I'm disappointed with how they turned out. My first impression was "good". The place is clean but nothing real special. I consider myself to be, somewhat of, an acrylic nail critic. I have had acrylic nails, on and off (mostly on) for the past 30 years now. I've been in many nail salons and I can truly say I LOVED the overall experience here. I had a new acrylic nail set done and they use a technique I have never seen before. They use a brush on gel base then dip your nail into the acrylic powder. It was fast with none of the bad acrylic fumes and dust. The technique leaves a very natural looking surface, shape and feel. My new set was only $30. After viewing their list of services and prices, I can't wait to try other services here. Oh...and they have a "NO TIPPING" policy. The only reason this is not a 5 is because of the decor. Although comfy, like I said, "nothing special". I personally believe the salon deserves a look that complements the name of the salon and the quality of services they provide. This place just opened behind Julia's in Gilman Village. It is an excellent place to go. I went for a pedicure. They have the huge massaging pedicure chairs (a must for me as I hate rolling around in desk chairs while I'm trying to relax). The ladies just opened the place and it's a really good deal. I got a 45 min to 1 hour spa pedicure for $24 (normally 30 to 40 depending on what you get). I'm sure there will be no more deals once the word get's out, but $40 is still a great price. She massaged my feet and everything. They did a great job! They also have a no tipping policy. I really wanted to tip her but I couldn't. I figured a good review on Yelp and telling my friends was the best tip I could give. I moved to WA last July and I was still looking for a good place to go. I'm glad I finally found one. I have been to InSpa (no massage chairs) and have had to wait a week for an appointment there. Also, the people weren't nearly as nice. I have also been to spas where they charge $70 and up and cheap places they charge $30 and everything looks dirty. This place is clean friendly and conveniently located near a candy store (in Gilman Village). Who could ask for more? They are brand new and aim to PLEASE. It's worth the trip if you don't live in Issaquah. Also, I think Sundays they are running a 30% off special until business picks up. I've got mixed reviews on this salon: On the plus side, my pedicure has been holding up great, the girls were very very friendly and the sanitation of all the instruments they use was top notch! I'd never advise someone to not go there based on the conditions. The prices are good, the no tipping policy means less manging of the nails after you're done! I walked in on Father's Day and it being a Sunday made for a very busy shop...so I made an appointment for an hour later, no problem. People were getting upset because they weren't accepting walk ins at the moment, but that's the risk you take when you don't make an appointment at the only nail salon in Issaquah open on a Sunday! Great service, great prices and I love the no tipping policy. Everyone is efficient and overall, it seems to be well run and comfortable. I normally go for my eyebrows, because they're so thorough and gentle (at least as far as waxing goes), but my mani-pedi rocked too-- I love being able to sit back in a cushy chair and not get rushed out the door while my nails are still drying. UPDATE* After going here for years, I had a horrible allergic reaction to the chemicals they used that took months to completely clear up. After going there for years, my body just couldn't take any more. These chemicals are illegal to use and nothing they have is labeled. I will never go back. I went in to get a French shellac manicure. Tina did a great job, was meticulous and paid attention to detail. She also gave a great massage at the end to my hands, arms and shoulders. It was a Monday, very quiet and had no problem as a walk in at noon. They give a 20% discount on Mondays and Tuesdays! Two weeks later now, and the polish is showing minor wear and tear on select fingers if you look real close. I'm going in again today to get them done because my nails have grown, not because they chipped or anything! They didn't tell me about their no tipping policy, and did adjust my cc charge to add tip. I got acrylics here after seeing the great job they did with my friend's nails and I'm so impressed! My nails are perfect! I love that they filed them down to be narrower and thinner so they look more feminine and natural. Then they impressed me even more when they fixed one that broke and did an additional top coat layer on all of them for free. Really great service overall. **This is for a waxing review.** Out of desperation I went here for a brow wax. I have sensitive skin, it is true, so when I saw a very stale and crusted over wax pot full of wax you better believe I shivered in my shoes. Still, I gave it a shot. The brows were well done, I'll give them that, but a week of bumps was probably not worth it. For those with skin of steel this would be a great place. For those with sensitive skin like myself its on the scarier side.
