The people working here are truly kind and that makes a huge difference. The young man behind d the counter was courteous, kind and helpful. He offered to carry the pizzas to my car for me and although that was not necessary; it was a nice gesture. He did hold the door open for me and thank me for coming. The pizza was your average take out. I asked for light sauce which they did accommodate. It's nice to have a request honored. Toppings were adequate. The dill pickle pizza with ham was delicious cold the next day. The pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pizza was best hot out of the oven but reheated nicely in a pan on the stove. We love cold leftover pizza but this one was better reheated.

I bet it had 10 layers. The sauce was definitely made in-house. Not too sweet, not too bitter/sour. Appearances can be deceiving, but from the looks of the pies and quantity of people ordering them, they have to be pretty great too. Calvino's does not have a full bar, but they do have an extensive wine selection and some nice beers to choose from. If everyone at the table is ordering wine, go for the bottle as it will save you money. They have some really nice, inexpensive wines that pair very well with pasta - you won't break the bank on wine (but you could...)! All in all, it was a great night! The bill for the two of us came to $55.00 (that's including the tip)! The service was great, the food was outstanding - the best Italian meal I've had in Toledo, hands down.

We appreciated that the pasta is made in house, but unfortunately several pasta dishes were noticeably overcooked. Some of the chicken was dry and underseasoned, and the red sauce had a somewhat processed or jarred flavor. The pizza was decent but nothing particularly memorable. There were also some issues with special requests not being followed, and rather than correcting one of the meals, a discount was offered instead. Overall, several people at the table were disappointed with their food. We ordered the Dill Pickle Bread appetizer - it is huge! Just wished there was more pickles. For dinner we ordered the Cauliflower Crust Pizza with toppings of: mushrooms; pepperoni; and onion.
