Saw the place online went in and was busy couldn't get a drink and the lady bartender was so rude i just left. Ask to play shuffle board no one on it. Said I'm not giving that out. I was like what! All good right down the street is a place called brews and cues. Had tables open and 2 really cool bartenders. I just can't stand rude people when your trying to enjoy your time away. Uptown is pretty bomb. This is where I find myself when I want to get away from all of the tourist hubbub. This place is perfect for meeting up with the local gang and hashing out a few pool matches while getting down on a large pitcher. I love the fact that they charge you only for the time you play the pool games and not for a full hour unless needed. The staff here is always super chill and the service is quick. I hate when I have to stare at a bartender for an eternity to catch his/her eye while I wave my cash in the air like an idiot. Nice pool hall in downtown Flag. If you wanna play pool then then charge $8 per hour but if you don't play for a full hour then they only charge you for the time that you play. The pool tables are nice and they have a bar as well. Fun place to play some pool and chill. read more

The fish fry is AMAZING! Juicy on the inside and the batter was just right. I've never had food here before and I'm impressed. I had a bite of my friends poutine and that was also delicious. We came in Flagstaff first time and we decided to get some playing in pool. At the downtown we found that pub and to visited it. We got a play's table and spent two pleasant hours. I was wearing a "MAGA" mask and was told to take a disposable mask or leave because the owner didn't "approve of my mask". If you don't like endless billiards games, big beers, and raucous conversation, turn around and get out. This isn't for you. If like me you've literally died from frustration over never having a table open up at a pub, this is heaven. I didn't count how many there are, but this building is just mostly pool tables. Most of the seats are lined up around the wall. Of course, there are tables for food served during the day. I can tell they serve food because it smells strongly of fried fish in here at all times. Don't complain, dives always carry a musk about them, and it only takes 3 minutes for your nose to adapt. That's just plain science. I wouldn't mind stopping here any time. read more

We came in to town for the trivia night here (which was challenging, and the hosts were excellent) and decided to have dinner and a few drinks. My wife ordered fish and chips, and I had Buffalo wings. The food wasn't very impressive. My wings were basically plain breaded chicken with Buffalo sauce on the side. Wife's fish and chips was okay, but the "chips" (French fries) tasted like they were about three days old. You have to order your food at a take out window here, and we had no table service for our cocktails. No cleanliness issues, and the bathrooms were well maintained. I'm in my early 60s, but I do remember my college days and the places I used to hang at, so I tend cut some slack for these types of bars. So I'd rate this as fine for the millennial crowd, but if you're over, say, 35 or so, you're probably better off somewhere else if you want something other just a free beers with your buddies. read more

I came for the whiskey. I stayed for the whiskey. I'm sure the food was lovely, but for my lunch I had an eclectic tour of Irish whiskeys, with the occasional scotch. It is extremely rare to find so many Irish whiskeys on the menu. If your tastes run the same as mine, try the Yellow Spot, Power's John Lane, or the Red Breast Lustau. But really I recommend connecting with the bartender and letting them be your guide through whiskey town. Nancy was behind the bar for my visit and she could speak with the confidence and knowledge of a fellow connoisseur. Actually that is wrong; a 'fellow' implies parity; Nancy was more of a mentor - a spiritual guide. A spirit guide. Even the owner took a moment to say hello and talk liquor for a bit; a classy move that I appreciated. If you are like me and love a bar that is humble in appearance, but big in spirit (and spirits) then you really need to make Uptown Pubhouse a priority on your itinerary. Forgive my long-winded overly poetic review, but after all this Celtic nectar I feel like I'm channelling Joyce or Oscar Wilde - neither of whom would be so sloppy as use a pun about spirits twice in the same paragraph. I was not very impressed by the staff. They were rude, inattentive and cold. Probably because my buddies and I weren't dressed like everyone else there. They charge what they want based on time...and if you don't pay attention they will charge extra. Drinks are made real weak! Almost no alcohol, bartender is very rude as well. Not happy, doesn't like her life. The tables are just OK for paying on time. Go to brews n cues for full tables or monte v or Charley's for bar style tables. The bartender here was a total rude ass. My brother and I were spending the day in Flag and decided to play some pool so we go in and I'm waiting at the bar to ask the bartender how much to play pool. First, she took about 5 minutes just to acknowledge me. Then she asks for my ID (I'm 30). So I take out my temporary license (due to moving states) and give it to her and she says she won't accept temporary licenses (it clearly says look at it under light to test authenticity). Then I tell her I'm not even trying to drink, just want to play pool with my brother and she says "too bad". I've never been treated so rudely in any business I've been to. I never leave reviews on anything but had to on this one. Worst customer service I've ever had. Zero stars. read more
