    Baklava Baked Brie
    Cynthia P.

After a fun day at Snow Ball, my husband and I were starving. With a quick Yelp search, we found Josephine's. FOOD The food at Josephine's was exceptional. The cuisine is a mix of new American and Italian. My husband had the crab cakes, and I had the gnocci. They were both delicious, but the crab cake was my fav. For dessert, we had the zeppoles and baklava. They were absolutely delicious! The zeppoles have a delicious homemade jam, and the baklava has a delicious brie that any cheese lover would enjoy. SERVICE We sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and struck up a conversation with us. But he also gave us space to enjoy the decadent delights. :-) But it wasn't just the bartender, from the hostess to the servers, I found the staff to be polite and professional.

Brunch was okay. Dinner experience was better. Got the French toast and birria patas. - French toast itself was tasty but overdosed with maple syrup that would've been nicer on the side. 3 pieces of toast for $17 is steep and would've been nice to have a side of potatoes or something - Birria patas - flavor of the beef and birria was nice since not too meaty and not overly oily, but the potatoes were undercooked. Nice salad to balance out the heaviness.

This was a recommendation from a colleague over 10 years ago and I finally had to chance to dine at Josephine's ... wow! Wagyu was amazing and everything before and after! I forgot our server's name but he was great!

This reataurant is definitely a flagstaff institution - so I'm glad I tried it but did think the food was a bit bland Food: we ordered the baked baklava brie for our appetizer which was very interesting! I do have to say the name makes it seem a bit more interesting than it is. It was good, but not as unique! For my main, I got the gnocchi which I found to be pretty bland. Drinks: I got the prickly pear margarita and it was very good and pretty strong! Ambience: great ambience - they have a bunch of different rooms so they can fill a bunch of people without it feeling cramped Service: i think they were a little too fast - I felt a bit rushed by them to finish up fast and they picked up our appetizer plate without us finishing

Excellent food portions, meal pace, and service quality. We ordered a salad to share and they brought it out split ready on two plates. The atmosphere was cozy and the price point didn't break the bank! Highly recommended.

This place was recommended to us to try while we were in town and it didn't disappoint. Great dinner and dessert and cute ambiance. Our dinner table was a little wobbly throughout dinner but manageable.

Yes! 100% yes! From the charming interior to the enclosed patio for our furbabies, everything from food to service was impeccable! Staff was so friendly, gave good recommendations on food and cocktails, but also more touristy information whilst visiting Flagstaff. We ordered the calamari with sweet chili dipping sauce, and a delicious spicy alioli dipping sauce. Hubs got the savory short ribs and he said it was fantastic. I told the server to surprise me with either the night special of halibut over pesto risotto or the salmon of Gruyère risotto. He brought the halibut , and I wasn't upset about it. It was prepared perfectly and my husband and I commented if we come back to flagstaff we'd return to Josephine's again!

Shared zeppoles with my handsome husband for dessert.

Wow! What an incredible meal and experience. Don't sleep on Josie's : this place does it right. Had dinner here, entrees, wine by the glass, shared dessert - price was fair and equitable for quality and quantity of food. Very well done. Whoever is in the kitchen is knocking out the hits, so impressed with the flavor profiles they are delivering to their guests. Service was the best we've experienced in Flag so far, and we were spoiled by Gian with his attention to detail, genuine friendliness, empathy, kindness, etc etc etc. Wow! If you want to feel like family, you'll want to ask for Gian's section, though, I have to say, all of the staff seemed genuinely kind and friendly, so probably - you'll get amazing service regardless of where you sit. Ambiance was ok, this was an October visit, with a crispness and chill in the air, they had a BEAUTIFUL gas fire pit fired up on the expansive patio, with lots of outdoor seating and patio space heaters were abundant. This is a 20/10: highly recommended, will definitely return AND will tell family and friends about it. Benedici il cuoco per cento anni!

We always enjoy both the food and ambience. Specials are always worth considering. The speed of service impressed us and the adjoining tables.

We are looking for a perfect venue for a Wedding dinner for a crowd of 26 people. (In late April) The diningroom looks pretty small. Is there a room available that can seat that many? Or can this sized party work inside? Early dinner hour (5)

They have a really nice patio and late April weather should be nice! That may work well, but the best bet may be to reach out to them directly to see what options they have.

We are traveling next week and going to Josephine's for Thanksgiving. After traveling that day, we wont feel like changing out of our super casual travel clothes. Is it OK to show up for early dinner in sweat pants and t shirts?

Shouldn't be a problem; but it is a nice restaurant and has outside seating. Flagstaff is a casual city. Checking the weather forecast for Thanksgiving, Flagstaff is supposed to be 40* high and 20* low. When the sun goes down, it gets cold in the… Read more

We lucked out with some gorgeous weather a few weeks back, so dining on the patio was very enjoyable, particularly with the cozy string lights on overhead. It was super packed, but some of the couples ahead of us rejected the tiny bar counter and stools at the end of the smaller patio; since those seats didn't bother us we were seated immediately! I don't remember the name of our waitress, but she was very friendly. She immediately brought us a water carafe and two glasses. She was back in under 5 minutes to take our order and our food came out super fast. We began with the Mixed Greens Salad with Chevre & Pine Nuts. The portion was generous and the salad was absolutely delicious. They let the flavor of the chevre & pine nuts really shine through by adding a very light olive oil based dressing. We then shared our favorite pizza, the Diavola, which was delicious as always. Their pizza crust is some of the best in the western U.S. I love the convenience of enjoying Pizzicletta at Dark Sky, but I think we'll be coming to this location from now on. We loved the ambiance and slightly expanded menu offered here. Plus, grabbing drinks two doors down at Mother Road before/after is an added bonus!

For our 4 night stopover in Flagstaff, we made reservations at "303 BnB"...a beautifully restored house in an older neighborhood just north of the Flagstaff Medical Center. - Overall: 5 - Location: 5 - Interior: 5 - Green Room: 5 - Breakfast: 5 - Amenities: 5 - Hosts: 5 - Housekeeping: 5 - Parking: 5 - Price and Value: 5 Pros: - Location: Fine. On the north side of town in an older residential neighborhood. A major hospital was only 4 blocks away. - Exterior: Adorable. Better than new. Yellow with white trim. - Interior: Clean and bright. The owners and innkeepers live on the first floor with 4 suites on the 2nd floor for guests. - Our Room (the "green" room): Not huge, but still First Class. - Bed was super comfortable (and I have trouble sleeping) - Towels of varying size were soft and thick - Even the toilet paper seemed more plush. 3 ply? - A window seat overlooking the quiet street was a nice touch - Breakfast: From scratch each day for all visitors at 8 AM. While that wasn't always best time for us, it was understandable since Kim, the owner, handled everything by herself. - Amenities: Plenty...some of which you don't typically find: - A pool table on the first floor - Washer and dryer on the 2nd floor at no charge - A large game room with a big TV and refrigerator on the 2nd floor - Designer touches and whimsical art throughout the house - The house was always very clean - Hosts: Super. Perhaps the most important feature was Kim. Super friendly with boundless energy and a chef's touch in the kitchen. I could never be an innkeeper. I'd toss half the tenants to the street, but Kim blended everyone so well we didn't want to leave after 4 nights. - Housekeeping: Whatever we asked for...we got. Basically, we just needed fresh towels and clean waste baskets. - Parking: No problem. There were reserved parking spots for each room in front of the house. - Price and Value: Fine. If you appreciate the personal touch not available in a regular hotel, 303 BnB must be considered.

The restaurant itself was clean and had a stylish modern-meets-vintage vibe that made the atmosphere feel both cozy and upscale. Their cocktail menu was especially unique. I ordered the Vendetta Ride, and it was easily one of my favorite drinks of the night: light, slightly sweet, and finished with just the right kick. I absolutely loved it. The menu features creative contemporary American cuisine with an emphasis on sharing plates, which made the experience even more fun. We ordered two appetizers, two mains, and a dessert, and overall everything was excellent. My only critique would be the Duck Taquitos. The duck flavor was not there, and the mesquite mole sauce leaned too sweet for my taste. Aside from that, every dish impressed us. Overall, it was a fantastic meal and a great dining experience. I don't know if chef changes the menus often BUT we had the fattoush salad, the bread board, cabbage, fideo with the venison sausage, and the chicken thighs and for dessert, we had the parsley and the apricot gelato. Yes, it sounds strange, parsley gelato but holy moly, it is probably one of the best desserts I've ever had. It is savory and sweet, so if you like really sweet desserts, it might not be your favorite but it is definitely unique and delicious. Everything was incredible. My only critique is that everything is a shareable and there's no way to serve each item, which is easily fixed with a serving spoon so, not really a critique. 11/10 food Service was great. Attentive without smothering me. Ambiance was good too. Not too crowded. Noise level was good. Go. You will not regret it.
