    Great brunch
    Adrianna S.

Josephine's is a must eat at in Flagstaff. The food is just so delicious. Most things are made in house like the biscuits and the amazing jam. You have to try to jam if you go for brunch. Weekend brunch is so good. There is a large patio if the weather is nice. And they have happy hour specials out there during the week. Service was good. I was a little surprised by how loud the music was when we walked in but it did not end up affecting the meal.

After a fun day at Snow Ball, my husband and I were starving. With a quick Yelp search, we found Josephine's. FOOD The food at Josephine's was exceptional. The cuisine is a mix of new American and Italian. My husband had the crab cakes, and I had the gnocci. They were both delicious, but the crab cake was my fav. For dessert, we had the zeppoles and baklava. They were absolutely delicious! The zeppoles have a delicious homemade jam, and the baklava has a delicious brie that any cheese lover would enjoy. SERVICE We sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and struck up a conversation with us. But he also gave us space to enjoy the decadent delights. :-) But it wasn't just the bartender, from the hostess to the servers, I found the staff to be polite and professional.

Brunch was okay. Dinner experience was better. Got the French toast and birria patas. - French toast itself was tasty but overdosed with maple syrup that would've been nicer on the side. 3 pieces of toast for $17 is steep and would've been nice to have a side of potatoes or something - Birria patas - flavor of the beef and birria was nice since not too meaty and not overly oily, but the potatoes were undercooked. Nice salad to balance out the heaviness.

This reataurant is definitely a flagstaff institution - so I'm glad I tried it but did think the food was a bit bland Food: we ordered the baked baklava brie for our appetizer which was very interesting! I do have to say the name makes it seem a bit more interesting than it is. It was good, but not as unique! For my main, I got the gnocchi which I found to be pretty bland. Drinks: I got the prickly pear margarita and it was very good and pretty strong! Ambience: great ambience - they have a bunch of different rooms so they can fill a bunch of people without it feeling cramped Service: i think they were a little too fast - I felt a bit rushed by them to finish up fast and they picked up our appetizer plate without us finishing

This was a recommendation from a colleague over 10 years ago and I finally had to chance to dine at Josephine's ... wow! Wagyu was amazing and everything before and after! I forgot our server's name but he was great!

Excellent food portions, meal pace, and service quality. We ordered a salad to share and they brought it out split ready on two plates. The atmosphere was cozy and the price point didn't break the bank! Highly recommended.

We are looking for a perfect venue for a Wedding dinner for a crowd of 26 people. (In late April) The diningroom looks pretty small. Is there a room available that can seat that many? Or can this sized party work inside? Early dinner hour (5)

They have a really nice patio and late April weather should be nice! That may work well, but the best bet may be to reach out to them directly to see what options they have.

We are traveling next week and going to Josephine's for Thanksgiving. After traveling that day, we wont feel like changing out of our super casual travel clothes. Is it OK to show up for early dinner in sweat pants and t shirts?

Shouldn't be a problem; but it is a nice restaurant and has outside seating. Flagstaff is a casual city. Checking the weather forecast for Thanksgiving, Flagstaff is supposed to be 40* high and 20* low. When the sun goes down, it gets cold in the…

We were seated in the front room. Our server Alex was so nice. She was friendly without being over the top. Professional and knew that menu! We started with a bottle of wine. From the food to the service, everything came together beautifully. We started with two appetizers: the Soup of the Day, which was a mushroom bisque, and the Brie Bruschetta. The mushroom bisque was deliciously creamy, rich, and full of flavor, the perfect comforting start to the meal. The Brie Bruschetta was such a fun combination of flavors. The creamy, slightly tangy Brie paired beautifully with the sweetness of the fig and green apple, while the balsamic glaze added just the right amount of acidity. The little touch of black salt brought everything together. Sweet, savory, creamy, and slightly tangy all in one bite. I loved the combination! For my entrée, I ordered the Pan-Seared Salmon, served with creamy orzo, spinach, mascarpone, lemon, and fried shallots. The salmon was fresh, perfectly cooked, and seasoned really well. The creamy orzo was rich without overpowering the salmon, and the lemon gave the dish a nice brightness. Overall, it was flavorful and really well balanced. My boyfriend ordered the Mushroom Ravioli and added chicken for some extra protein. The ravioli was handmade and absolutely adorable! They weren't the traditional square-shaped ravioli you usually see. These were more like little pasta sacks, filled with mushroom and tied at the top. So cute! And, more importantly, they were delicious. The wild mushroom filling and creamy sauce made for a rich, comforting dish, and the added chicken made it a heartier meal. And then came dessert, the Chocolate Torta! It was so creamy and decadent that it practically melted in my mouth. If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely one to save room for. Teatro describes it as dark chocolate ganache with whipped cream and rum-caramel sauce, and it was every bit as indulgent as it sounds. A special shout-out to Alex, our server, who was so sweet and attentive throughout the entire dinner. Our water glasses were never empty, which is one of those little details that makes you feel genuinely taken care of. Overall, we had a wonderful dinner at Teatro. The food was flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was excellent. It felt like a special night out without being stuffy or pretentious. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Flagstaff. If you're looking for a great Italian dinner downtown, put Teatro on your list, you won't regret it!

A Gem Near Hospital Hill…read more.... For our 4 night stopover in Flagstaff, we made reservations at "303 BnB"...a beautifully restored house in an older neighborhood just north of the Flagstaff Medical Center. - Overall: 5 - Location: 5 - Interior: 5 - Green Room: 5 - Breakfast: 5 - Amenities: 5 - Hosts: 5 - Housekeeping: 5 - Parking: 5 - Price and Value: 5 Pros: - Location: Fine. On the north side of town in an older residential neighborhood. A major hospital was only 4 blocks away. - Exterior: Adorable. Better than new. Yellow with white trim. - Interior: Clean and bright. The owners and innkeepers live on the first floor with 4 suites on the 2nd floor for guests. - Our Room (the "green" room): Not huge, but still First Class. - Bed was super comfortable (and I have trouble sleeping) - Towels of varying size were soft and thick - Even the toilet paper seemed more plush. 3 ply? - A window seat overlooking the quiet street was a nice touch - Breakfast: From scratch each day for all visitors at 8 AM. While that wasn't always best time for us, it was understandable since Kim, the owner, handled everything by herself. - Amenities: Plenty...some of which you don't typically find: - A pool table on the first floor - Washer and dryer on the 2nd floor at no charge - A large game room with a big TV and refrigerator on the 2nd floor - Designer touches and whimsical art throughout the house - The house was always very clean - Hosts: Super. Perhaps the most important feature was Kim. Super friendly with boundless energy and a chef's touch in the kitchen. I could never be an innkeeper. I'd toss half the tenants to the street, but Kim blended everyone so well we didn't want to leave after 4 nights. - Housekeeping: Whatever we asked for...we got. Basically, we just needed fresh towels and clean waste baskets. - Parking: No problem. There were reserved parking spots for each room in front of the house. - Price and Value: Fine. If you appreciate the personal touch not available in a regular hotel, 303 BnB must be considered.

The restaurant itself was clean and had a stylish modern-meets-vintage vibe that made the atmosphere feel both cozy and upscale. Their cocktail menu was especially unique. I ordered the Vendetta Ride, and it was easily one of my favorite drinks of the night: light, slightly sweet, and finished with just the right kick. I absolutely loved it. The menu features creative contemporary American cuisine with an emphasis on sharing plates, which made the experience even more fun. We ordered two appetizers, two mains, and a dessert, and overall everything was excellent. My only critique would be the Duck Taquitos. The duck flavor was not there, and the mesquite mole sauce leaned too sweet for my taste. Aside from that, every dish impressed us. Overall, it was a fantastic meal and a great dining experience. I would highly recommend this spot if you're in Flagstaff!

I've spent years seeking out restaurants worth traveling for. I don't just eat to eat--I plan…read moreentire trips around food. Hospitality matters to me just as much as what's on the plate because great restaurants don't just serve meals; they create memories. Unfortunately, Shift became one I'll never forget for the wrong reasons. Our day couldn't have been further from what the staff assumed. We spent the morning hiking, went back to rest, explored a local bookstore, grabbed ice cream, and walked to our dinner reservation. Not one alcoholic drink had been consumed by anyone in our group the entire day. Not one. We also had a child with us. The only conversation we had with the host before being seated was asking whether it was okay that we had arrived about twenty minutes early for our reservation. We were polite, excited, and looking forward to dinner. Then my husband ordered a beer. The waitress immediately refused because she claimed the hostess believed my husbands speech and mannerisms meant he was intoxicated. Read that again. A guest who had consumed zero alcohol all day was judged to be intoxicated. I understand the responsibility restaurants have. If someone is genuinely impaired, absolutely don't serve them. Every responsible restaurant should protect its guests and its liquor license. But there is an equally important responsibility that seems to have been forgotten: making sure your judgment is actually right before labeling someone. There was no bar crawl. No cocktails beforehand. No wine tasting. No brewery stop. No hidden drinks. There wasn't even one drink. We left feeling embarrassed, confused, and honestly caught off guard. Not because a beer was refused, but because a person was reduced to an assumption based solely on how they naturally presented themselves. Here's what makes the experience even harder to understand. After leaving Shift, we walked to Atria, where we remained for approximately two hours. We talked, enjoyed ourselves, and spent the evening there without issue. If someone in our party had truly been intoxicated wouldn't that have been obvious there as well? It wasn't. Food can be good. Cocktails can be creative. Service can be polished. None of that matters if hospitality disappears the moment someone doesn't fit your expectation of what a guest "should" look or sound like. Maybe perhaps because we weren't locals we seemed off ? To anyone considering Shift, especially if you're traveling with someone whose speech, mannerisms, or disability could be misunderstood, know that this was our experience. I hope the restaurant reflects on what happened and asks itself a difficult question: How many guests have we mistaken for being intoxicated when, in reality, they simply communicated differently? Because that's not just a missed beer. That's a missed opportunity to treat someone with dignity. I came to Flagstaff excited to discover one of its most " creative" restaurants. Instead, I left wondering how quickly a restaurant built on hospitality could make a guest feel so unwelcome. Simply , because my husband is a restaurant manager in Las Vegas, who has managed restaurants like Yellowtail, Herbs&Rye, Gjelina, and Edo we left out of respect for the industry. However, we should have got our deposit automatically refunded. Next time, take the time. Take the time to care. If a staff member is under this assumption, management intervene not to just follow said assumption and repeat what she said, but to hold an actual conversation with your guest, to evaluate , to observe, to understand. I promise you, that would change so many things for you.
