BATE and SWITCH owner, Steve Patterson. Beware. Comparable units in same bldg are @600 dollars less. Look at HomeAwau and even on Airbnb.

I stopped by 1900 Arch to check out an apartment for a friend and possibly for myself. I…read moreremembered the construction phase, so I was curious about the units, price points and amenities. When I walked in the door, a very friendly security agent walked me to the leasing office. There I met and spoke with Elizabeth. (That's what the card read. Since she never introduced herself, I'm making an assumption.) Cordial still, she asked me to complete a visitors card, so I did. She handed me a brochure and took me to see a unit. As we were walking out of the leasing office, I quickly realized that, as I was following Elizabeth, I was being followed by a man. We walked through the lounge area and then stopped at the gym, where Elizabeth told me a little bit more about the gym space. And there was that man right behind me. Then we walked down the hall and into an elevator. All three of us. I looked at said man, who enthusiastically says, "Hi! I'm Chris." And he extends his hand. As I'm shaking his hand, I explain to the both of them that I feel like I'm being followed like I'm in a store. Chris responded: "We tour in pairs." It was incredibly uncomfortable. I've toured many apartments in my life and I've never been greeted with the "front and follow" surveilliance tactic used by law enforcement. I honestly felt like I was being led to a jail cell or the guillotine. The goal was to either: 1) make me feel so uncomfortable that I'd never move in or 2) protect themselves from me because I looked menacing. I'm tall, thin and used to model, so that's how I carry myself...always. I wore an Armani winter coat, Burberry winter scarf, Tiffany & Co. pearl earrings, and mink fur gloves. I simply don't have a menacing presence. So I can only assume that their goal was the former. By the way, the units are average. I don't recommend moving here.

I had no idea that building was being used as an extended stay! I guess anything goes with PMC!…read more This review is for 1900 Arch Street Apartments. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT rent from PMC Management Company. This goes especially to Penn Law and Wharton grad students. I'm a Penn Law grad and attorney living in Philly. I recently got transferred to my firm's NYC office. I was more than willing to pay the lease break fee for my apartment but then the management company told me that I would still have to pay rent for the remainder of my lease if they are unable to find tenant. What is the point of a lease break fee? I told PMC that I would just sublease the apartment for the remainder of lease and they informed me that this was prohibited. I pointed out that the lease does not prohibit subleasing and the tenant only needs written approval from the landlord. PMC's response: All subletting requests will be denied! Soo basically you want me to pay a lease break fee and the rent for remainder of lease? What is their incentive to re-rent my apartment if they are guaranteed rent for the remainder of lease-- especially when they have many other empty units? Absurd! Then they threatened to charge me double rent if I didnt move out by my early move-out date. Are you kidding me? Of course that would never hold up in a court of law. This is the treatment I get for keeping my unit in immaculate condition and paying rent on time for the last eight months. Bottom line, this property group/building is not for business professionals who might need to transfer cities or graduate students who will have summer internship in other cities and need to sublet. I will be sure to post this in Penn's off-campus housing reviews and alert HR at my firm. There are so many new apartment buildings in Philly. Based on the reputation this property management company has created for itself during my short time in Philly, I recommend that you save yourself from the drama and headaches and rent somewhere else!

From the beginning, the communication with their customer service was great- the rep (Charm) answered my questions and offered me tips/ insight during my stay. I was emailed the door lock codes & consistently received text messages checking in with me about needs/ or concerns throughout my stay. Here's the down low: Location- I stayed at 1955 Locust location- directly across from 7-11 and a cute coffee house (Ultimo Coffee) with the best coffee I've ever had (this alone is a big plus). The place itself is nicely decorated with a welcoming feel..bathroom, washer & dryer (one detergent sample provided), full kitchen with a fridge, oven & stove, plates and utensils provided. The bed was comfy & the bedroom was the perfect size. There were two large tv's- one in the bedroom and one in the living room- with Netflix and prime included. The apartment was very clean - spotless in fact, nice & quiet. One of the bulbs in the bathroom was out during my stay & my last night there, the two remotes for the tv in the living room stopped working (a little annoying but not a deal breaker for me). I think this is great service for a great price. I would recommend to anyone staying for a few days & I will most definitely return!

Manayunk Gem. What a find! My wife and I were in Philly…read morevisiting our grandchildren for the day. My son surprised us with an overnight stay in this really beautiful B&B. We were going to crash at his house, but he and his wife are looking to buy a house in Manayunk, and wanted our opinion of the town, so they said " we got you a B&B, go explore" and I am so glad we did, as we love going to places we have never been to. My wife went to check in, and I stayed in the car, as I wanted to go look at the town and get some food as we had been on the road for 4 hours. As I sat in the car, I got a surprise of a knock on my window, and it was Mark, one of the owners, who wanted to come introduce himself. I thought that was awesome. He is extremely friendly, and we had a nice chat about the history of the B&B, and the town in general. Mark recommended a couple of great places to eat. We stayed in the English Garden Suite. First and foremost the room was CLEAN! The room was decorated exactly how I expected it to be, fun wallpaper, big king size bed, with big pillows & high ceilings. Mark was kind enough to have the A/C on, as I had called to say we would be there about 2:30, and it was about 95 degrees that day. There was a vintage couch and chair in the room (pics) There was no TV in the room ( Thank God ). The room is perfect for 2 people who haven't over-packed. What the room lacks in size is made up with a huge parlor (pics) downstairs, and a nice sized outdoor porch. In the parlor there is complimentary water, seltzer, coffee, tea, beer and wine! They also had fresh fruit , and candy dishes filled with fun candy, so my wife and I stayed down there for a while listening to the perfectly picked out music playing. The B&B is walking distance to the town, and it's a really fun town to walk around and be a tourist in. There are coffee shops, bars, restaurants, clothing stores, antique stores, (you must check out Jinxed Variety), and an Insomnia cookie shop, and furniture stores. The town even has a vegan bakery, Crust ( we took home some delicious poptarts! ). This B&B is also walking distance to Pretzel Park (look it up). Manayunk is a unique town, lots of hills, pockets of fun areas. I will say the parking can be challenging, but Mark went out of his way to help us...there is street parking, during the day ( pay ), and there is a parking lot that you can stay as long as you want, but you pay by the hour. I believe after 8:00 street parking on Main Street is free. Don't let the parking scare you from coming to this awesome B&B, or this cool town. My biggest regret was that we had to miss breakfast, as we were going antiquing in CT, and well you know how I-95 is. But i am sure you can see from other pictures, and reviews, the breakfast is a real treat here. I look forward to coming back to Manayunk Chambers Guest House, and this fun little town!
