We were going to crash at his house, but he and his wife are looking to buy a house in Manayunk, and wanted our opinion of the town, so they said " we got you a B&B, go explore" and I am so glad we did, as we love going to places we have never been to. My wife went to check in, and I stayed in the car, as I wanted to go look at the town and get some food as we had been on the road for 4 hours. As I sat in the car, I got a surprise of a knock on my window, and it was Mark, one of the owners, who wanted to come introduce himself. I thought that was awesome. He is extremely friendly, and we had a nice chat about the history of the B&B, and the town in general. Mark recommended a couple of great places to eat. We stayed in the English Garden Suite. First and foremost the room was CLEAN! The room was decorated exactly how I expected it to be, fun wallpaper, big king size bed, with big pillows & high ceilings. Mark was kind enough to have the A/C on, as I had called to say we would be there about 2:30, and it was about 95 degrees that day. There was a vintage couch and chair in the room (pics) There was no TV in the room ( Thank God ). The room is perfect for 2 people who haven't over-packed. What the room lacks in size is made up with a huge parlor (pics) downstairs, and a nice sized outdoor porch. In the parlor there is complimentary water, seltzer, coffee, tea, beer and wine! They also had fresh fruit , and candy dishes filled with fun candy, so my wife and I stayed down there for a while listening to the perfectly picked out music playing. The B&B is walking distance to the town, and it's a really fun town to walk around and be a tourist in. There are coffee shops, bars, restaurants, clothing stores, antique stores, (you must check out Jinxed Variety), and an Insomnia cookie shop, and furniture stores. The town even has a vegan bakery, Crust ( we took home some delicious poptarts! ). This B&B is also walking distance to Pretzel Park (look it up). Manayunk is a unique town, lots of hills, pockets of fun areas. I will say the parking can be challenging, but Mark went out of his way to help us...there is street parking, during the day ( pay ), and there is a parking lot that you can stay as long as you want, but you pay by the hour. I believe after 8:00 street parking on Main Street is free. Don't let the parking scare you from coming to this awesome B&B, or this cool town. My biggest regret was that we had to miss breakfast, as we were going antiquing in CT, and well you know how I-95 is. But i am sure you can see from other pictures, and reviews, the breakfast is a real treat here. I look forward to coming back to Manayunk Chambers Guest House, and this fun little town!

Relaxing in front of a fire with a glass of wine in the cozy living room was perfect after a long drive. Plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance. Warm, comfy rooms. Highly recommended!

Thanks to Hotels.com I was able to get a great rate on my stay at the Philly Inn & Suites. On my…read moreday of check-in I arrived at the location and was unsure until I was up on it that it was the correct address. The exterior looks more like a corporate office than an actual hotel. Also, as the main sign sits back off the sidewalk it wasn't until my ride share was letting me out that I realized I was at the correct place. As check in is at 3:00 pm and I arrived at 11:30 am, I was unable to check in as there isn't an early check in option. I asked if there was a business center and was advised there was not. As there was not a business area I sat in the lobby area and worked until it was time to check in. Sitting in the main area, which was very clean, I realized that the pictures online, though they are current, they had to be filtered. The Philly Inn & Suites looks a bit outdated, however, it has undergone a recent pair face lift. The colors are very vibrant and inviting. However, the foundational structure beneath the colors and amazing portraits is dated. Once I was checked in I headed upstairs to my room. I got to the third floor and the same remained true for the living area. Vibrant. Great paintings. Older structure, new reface via paint. I loved the colored room doors as it puts you in the mindset of elementary school (for me it did). Once I opened my door, I was pleased to be met with a clean room. A nice tiled floor, and a huge bed. The bathroom was a nice size and I loved the barn door. As I unpacked I looked further into the essentials of the room. Though the furniture was dated, it was in good condition and everything in the room worked. There wasn't an actual closet, however, there were a few hanger options behind the entry door. The MOST important thing... The Bed was Clean, Bug Free, and COMFORTABLE and the Air worked. I would stay again but knowing what I know now I would go for a cheaper rate. If you're in the area and want a comfortable stay that's not long. Check out the Philly Inn & Suites. It's quiet, clean, and the bed is comfortable.

I mentioned to my boyfriend that I wanted to bring up a hoodie from the car to cover my pillow because the room seemed super old and dingy. He decided to pick up a pillow and smell it to reassure me that I didn't need to cover the pillow only to find a BED BUG moving under the pillow! We immediately grabbed out bags and threw our clothes on and evacuated the room. We told the guy at the front that we needed to leave because we found a bedbug. We showed him the picture of it. I offered to take him upstairs so he could see it for himself and he declined and said oh I see it on the picture. I asked for a refund since we were unable to stay and he said, said that he was unable to give me a refund that I had to get it from hotels.com. I informed them that he could give me the refund directly since hotels.com. We are just going to pay them for the stay and he said he was unable. It has been four days and the hotel manager has not responded to hotels.com request or my email that I sent them two days ago. They pretty much seem to be dodging, honoring my refund request or even acknowledging the fact that I ended up with nowhere to stay for the night because they had uninhabitable accommodations. Not only is the property gross the people that work there are gross in their customer service and it's in a pretty shady neighborhood
