We needed a place to stay in the manayunk neighborhood and google was kind enough to lead us to this stunning place. Two lovely nights in a quiet, comfortable and carefully appointed room. Mark welcomed us warmly offering us some local brews and sodas. He told us much about the house and the area and prepared two spectacular breakfasts. We will definitely be back if space is available on our next visit to the area.

If I could give more than five stars, I would! The entire two night stay was PERFECT! We were warmly received my Mark and were impressed with the attention to detail that the inn provided; complimentary wines and local beer, fresh plums and nectarines, premium Roshen candies, cold water, 24/7 Keurig with a wide array of pod offerings, etc. The bed was SO comfortable and Mark keeps the A/C at 65ish degrees! Breakfast both mornings exceeded our expectations and included gourmet parfaits, freshly baked (and delicious) apricot/almond scones, wild blueberry muffins, halved eggs with a salty tomato garnish and vegetarian and crustless zucchini frittata. So very glad to have found such a lovely and comfortable place to stay during my visit to Philly. Mark is the friendliest and most welcoming host you could ask for - and a professional baker to boot! My only regret is that I didn't have a bigger appetite, because the breakfasts were positively delectable (and the portions generous). Thank you for your hospitality, Mark!

I highly recommend the Manayunk Chambers Guest House if anyone is looking for something different from the ordinary. I wish I could give six (6) stars! My wife and I found the location very convenient to Center City Philadelphia and the northern suburbs, the bed comfortable, the rooms tasteful in decor and the breakfast exceptional. We were there three (3) nights and Mark, the innkeeper, got to know our likes. Mark is a professional pastry chef and is up at 4 AM to bake the muffins, scones, and bread that is available in the breakfast bread basket. Along with the bread basket, breakfast includes yogurt over fruit, freshly prepared eggs, salad, and meats. I was looking for a location near our friends who live near Manayunk, and found this B&B. We asked Mark if we could entertain our friends in the living room of the Guest House. He agreed. We had wine and cheese and when Mark saw that - he brought out some grapes to go along with the food. My wife and Mark got into a discussion about pea soup. The last night Mark & Neil cooked up some pea soup and invited us and our friends to enjoy - with a freshly baked loaf of French bread to go with it! This is typical of the outstanding service Mark and Neil provide to their guests. Manayunk is a vibrant neighborhood, set in an old mill town, which offers an easy 25 minute commute to Center City Philadelphia via the Norristown / Manayunk Regional Rail line which provides frequent service (at least hourly) until 11:30 at night. The Guest House is a five minute walk from the station! (N.B. If you have a Medicare card, the fare is $1 each way!) The Schuylkill Expressway (I-76 exit 338) is also 5 minutes away -except in morning rush then 15 minutes. I counted 35 restaurants of varied nationalities (including a brewery with its own restaurant and sushi chef) within 0.6 miles (1 km) of the Guest House on Main Street. The Main Street sidewalk is part of the Schuylkill River Trail up to where the Trail turns to The Manayunk Canal towpath which varies between crushed stone and wooden boardwalk. The River Trail extends for 26 miles -- excellent for biking or walking. My wife and I will find reasons to visit Philadelphia and slowly see all the history and the museums this fair city has to offer - while we stay again and again at the Manayunk Chambers Guest House.

Came downstairs to rosemary fruit with honey yogurt, juice, tea and AMAZING scones, muffins and Breads!

Thanks to Hotels.com I was able to get a great rate on my stay at the Philly Inn & Suites. On my…read moreday of check-in I arrived at the location and was unsure until I was up on it that it was the correct address. The exterior looks more like a corporate office than an actual hotel. Also, as the main sign sits back off the sidewalk it wasn't until my ride share was letting me out that I realized I was at the correct place. As check in is at 3:00 pm and I arrived at 11:30 am, I was unable to check in as there isn't an early check in option. I asked if there was a business center and was advised there was not. As there was not a business area I sat in the lobby area and worked until it was time to check in. Sitting in the main area, which was very clean, I realized that the pictures online, though they are current, they had to be filtered. The Philly Inn & Suites looks a bit outdated, however, it has undergone a recent pair face lift. The colors are very vibrant and inviting. However, the foundational structure beneath the colors and amazing portraits is dated. Once I was checked in I headed upstairs to my room. I got to the third floor and the same remained true for the living area. Vibrant. Great paintings. Older structure, new reface via paint. I loved the colored room doors as it puts you in the mindset of elementary school (for me it did). Once I opened my door, I was pleased to be met with a clean room. A nice tiled floor, and a huge bed. The bathroom was a nice size and I loved the barn door. As I unpacked I looked further into the essentials of the room. Though the furniture was dated, it was in good condition and everything in the room worked. There wasn't an actual closet, however, there were a few hanger options behind the entry door. The MOST important thing... The Bed was Clean, Bug Free, and COMFORTABLE and the Air worked. I would stay again but knowing what I know now I would go for a cheaper rate. If you're in the area and want a comfortable stay that's not long. Check out the Philly Inn & Suites. It's quiet, clean, and the bed is comfortable.

Parking garage was very crowded (got the last space). After we booked this place we were told this was a "party hotel", and maybe that was true. "No smoking" signs, yet the elevator reeked of cigarettes and pot. Poor lighting, and the light switch upon entering the room controlled the outlet by the beds. We slept with the light on to charge our devices for the next day. :(

However, after we checked in, we quickly realized that one of the windows' latch was broken and being on the 16th floor with rain and temperatures in the 40's, we could not use one of the rooms at all. I emailed the Ur hip and they said that it would fixed shortly and they would send someone up. After a few hours with no maintenance personnel in sight, I emailed them again. We were reassured that someone will be up. The manager of the apartment complex came and took pictures and said it was definitely broken and left. We had a 7 night stay and the window never got fixed; in fact I was given a step by step tutorial in one of the emails 'how to close a window' which as quite insulting since I felt that our request was not taken seriously. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment and could not use the second room at all and had to sleep in the living room. Urhip was emailed constantly and we were constantly ignored. We were never reimbursed. I am now waiting to at least receive my deposit back from this shady company. Truly disappointing experience.

I also received text alerts with info. They communicated with me via text several times throughout my stay to make sure everything was to my liking. I also coordinated with them via text about trying to store my bag for several hours before my 5pm flight out. They kindly offered for me to store my bag at their offices that weren't very far away; however, I ended up storing it at the UPENN lab while I went to the museum, etc. I didn't have any issues but my impression was that they cared about my stay and wanted to make sure everything was going good for me. Room: I stayed in 2F so had to walk up 1 flight to get to my room. Everything was very clean and I felt it was roomy in the three spaces: bathroom, bedroom, living space/kitchen combo. Decor was fine. Bed was very comfortable. My only gripe about the room was that when the heat would come on it would blow air against the opposite wall and would jingle a decorative lamp that had wind chime like things hanging from it. I had to lay a shirt over it to mute this. I didn't want to relocate it. Other than that I slept very well once that was solved. Internet was solid, as well. Location: I love staying in Rittenhouse so I knew the location would be good. Ultimo Coffee across the street has amazing espresso and the croissant was also delicious. There were plenty of neat places to eat nearby. There was snow on the ground so Rittenhouse Sq was especially beautiful. I didn't notice any loud people at night. It is just fun enough of an area to have lots of options at night but not so bad that you have to deal with woo girls outside while you are trying to catch some zzz's. Verdict: I'll be back.

The weather was great..even with the complimentary downpour day to let the skin come off sizzle mode..just perfect. We were a large family group... family coming in from NY, NM, Ca and Germany. We pushed the limits in space but with the backyard patio area, rooftop hot tub soaking deck (special accolades to that), the ocean so close and so many places you could walk, bike, paddle to we never at all came to in your face situations... which we all know with family is usually inevitable. We wanted to do something special for our Mom (Omi) for her birthday so we took Mary Ann and Tom's referral and hired the caterer that they suggested... we did a luau theme and they came to the house with the pig roast complete with Hawaiian veges and salads. I for one was amazed that we actually surprised her but I do believe we really pulled it off. We were initially hesitant to rent because of landowners sharing the same house..but we started our search late and there weren't many options to accommodate our large group so we took the chance. Couldn't have been any farther from the fears we had to reality. Always friendly and helpful.. never intrusive or controlling. By the time we left it felt like we were leaving old friends.... the hot donuts Mary Ann brought us from an old time LBI donut shop, the morning before we left sealed the deal! Our family grew up summers in LBI..staying with friends that owned and/or our family renting for weeks at a time. I think I can speak for our family in saying we came home that week. A wonderful magical place in our memories. Lucky me got to share it with my granddaughter while my Mom (Omi) is still with us and oh so big a center of our family. 4 generations of LBI addicts.... what better place to enjoy family!
