Services was good. Food was underwhelming. The chicken had no flavor, the mac and cheese was horrible. The best thing was the crispy fries and corn bread.

The chicken was juicy and breaded well and the honey mustard was pretty good. The workers were quick and friendly. And the restaurant is very small with limited seating.

The food was amazing! I got 3 thighs, 1 leg, mac and cheese, a dinner roll and cornbread. I am from baltimore and I have to say, this is one if the best fried chickens I have ever tasted! Give this 5 out of 5! It was very aftordable as well! Plus, the guy at the counter was very nice and provided great service! 10/10 - Gabriel

You can taste the fried crispiness and salt they have added into the batter is just right. It took us another 20 minutes to get home and it was still good. We got the spiciest level for the buffalo wings, which was pretty spicy and invigorating. The sauce is nice and tangy. The sides we got were: spicy rice (didn't taste spicy to us), green beans (cooked perfectly with carrots), and mashed potatoes (mashed with skin and flavorful without gravy). There was no dining in available, so we picked it up. It was swift and we had no problems with our order. We ordered through Yelp, powered by GrubHub. We will be ordering from here again!

Finally got around to coming here today, I've had it bookmarked for a long time now! I got a 2 piece dark meat, an order of fries, and a piece of cornbread for takeout. The chicken was crispy and had a nice crunch, flavor was good but a bit underwhelming. The fries were fresh and crispy, and the amount they give you is enough for 2 people at least! The cornbread was basic but good. Overall, its nothing I would rush to come back for but if you have a fried chicken craving it's worth stopping by. I'm sure I'll be back at some point!

Best fried chicken in the neighborhood. We ordered the wings in 24k gold sauce and 4 piece (dark meat only) Chattanooga fried chicken, accompanied with a side of fries and Mac n cheese. Everything was delicious especially the fried chicken with its crisp and well seasoned batter. The wings are very sauced up - recommend if you like your wings saucy. The side of fries is humongous - quite filling and the mac n cheese is covered in a rich cheddar like sauce. This is definitely a pick up and go kind of place. Very little s

We had them deliver some food to us for a working lunch today and I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was pretty good! The fried chicken was seasoned pretty good, not saying it's the best, but much better than I expected, as I wouldn't come to Montclair for fried chicken to be honest. Their grilled (or maybe baked, not sure since I didn't order it) chicken was pretty tasty also. It had a nice charred taste it, which made me assume it was grilled. The fries are coated and seasoned which I like, but you have to eat em while their hot or warm at best, else they tend to soak up the grease. The salad was wonderful, nice mix of greens and the a fresh juicy tomato, with the shaved Parmesan cheese as a nice finishing touch! The chicken fingers were buff and juicy, not as well seasoned as the fried chicken, and the breading wasn't as thick, which isn't a complain, but you can totally taste the difference between the fried chicken and the chicken tenders, not all places can accomplish this. Ultimately they were a good luck and very filling. Now, as for the STAR of the meal, and I'm not a super big fan of this in general, I mean I'll eat it, but not something I look forward too or bank on, but their CORN BREAD is rooooooooooooockiNG!!! I mean their corn bread was so frikkin good bro.. sweet.. moist.. maintained its texture and composure without crumbling in your hand if you broke off a piece.. I mean, man listen, like I said I'm not a "cornbread guy" but theirs was soooo yummy that I had to show love on that alone! I would give this place 5 stars but the chicken wasn't THAT out of this world.. yet it's good enough that I can't hate or knock em, as it did hit the spot and I went back for 2nds and 3rds!! Lol

Decided to try this place out after seeing the reviews. I had placed an order online. Initially my card showed a pending charge for the order so I thought everything went through. A couple of moments later, I received an email that there was a problem with the order. I called the restaurant and they said the order did not go through and took my order over the phone, which ended up being more money for the same items than the online order. ?????? Only by a couple of dollars. Moving along, I was told 30 minutes which was cool since I was still at work. When I arrived it was actually 40minutes later and yet my order was still not ready. I ended up waiting about an additional 15-20 minutes for my order. Yikes!!!!! So now let's get to the good stuff, the food...... I ordered Chicken tenders, Buffalo wings, Fried Chicken, and the cornbread. The tenders were good, the meat was not dry and the sauces I choose were tasty - 24Karat Gold sauce The Fried chick was okay, nothing I haven't had before and they didn't stand out. The Buffalo wings were very tasty, spicy just the way I like. Lastly, the cornbread....... It was on point ya'll Final Thoughts: Overall, it was tasty but the prices were definitely too high for the quantity and quality of food, and the wait was definitely a downer. Would I return? Maybe, probably..... not in a rush to do so though.

4 pieces chicken, cornbread, fries. The pizza were homemade.

Decent fried chicken made by white people in Montclair. We ordered delivery and it came within a decent time. Although, Boo Boo was not hangry and I was distracted by football on TV. Ordering through yelp was seamless and our order was correct. You can add tip there as well. I inhaled the 4 piece fried chicken corn bread. Boo Boo got the buffalo chicken fingers and we shared mashed potato and cole slaw. The food was good. It hit the spot for a lazy Friday. I've called ahead before but i had to wait 20 minutes because my food was not done yet and they were super busy that time on Friday.

My friend had been talking about this chicken spot for a while and had my mouth watering so I gave them a chance. Love the fact that its super clean. They pack your food separate and the staff was friendly. This is not a sit down type of place, but its not a regular chicken shack either. Had the 3 piece fried chicken. The skin was crunchy and delicious. The side sauces are a great addition too. The order of fries brought enough for two people. They were crunchy and delicious. The cornbread looked homemade and was good. The spicy rice was a bust though. It was hard and uncooked. My favorite was the tip jar. Super dope!

I've had me some soul food in Mississippi and 'Bama, though at a fraction of the price you get up North. Look, it's a Montclair thing. Pluses: Black owned restaurant serving cultural staples, plus foods for people who don't want Southern. Ambiance featured soul music, and at one point was playing Shaft! I can dig it. You're not left wanting for food quantity or quality. Plenty of shrimp in the grits, for example. Server was very pleasant to talk to with a little Southern twang to her voice. Why not five stars: Flavor needs deepening. For example, in the South I'm used to seeing okra chopped and breaded before being fried. Maybe more oily that way, more carbs... but more flavor as a result. I had the pulled chicken mac, which was a bit smaller of a dish overall (a bit intentional on my part) - and while the cheese flavors run deep, the meat did not. Shrimp and grits, I took a quick sample of my friend's grits and... I bet you can guess my finding there. Still, a very nice change from the usual Northern selection of foods. I would not hesitate to say Sweet T's is authentic and a nice visit if you're in town. You'll be paying a pretty penny wherever you eat, so you can tag this one on your list.

The chicken looked good but I only ate 1/2 piece of the wing. (Still have me a horrible headache on the way home). Place is small but that's the least of their problems. Entire staff primarily speaks Spanish and aren't properly trained enough to even know how to take an order at your table. The poor girl tried hard to try to write down our simple order but the language barrier made it hard for her to type our order into the system. She returned to the table 5x to explain the various mistakes she made trying to put the order in. As I stood near the bar waiting to put my OWN drink order in, the young confused waitress ran over to tell me that the kitchen was out of collard greens. I smoked and substituted it for something else. 10 minutes later she arrives with my oversalted chicken and collard greens. Portions were huge, so we took plenty home for our group of three adults and a toddler. Everything was slightly spicy, super crispy, and absolutely delicious. A small but much-appreciated touch: they brought our 2-year-old ice water with a lid without us even asking. The warm sweet potato cornbread muffins were amazing--we liked them so much we ordered some to take home. We'll definitely be back!

I had never actually been to Southern Table, I had only ever had takeout from there once or twice,…read morebut I have been wanting to try it for ages and I have to say it was worth the wait. We went on Easter for brunch, which we decided to do last minute and they let us know they could squeeze us in. We sat on the screened in patio. They were massively busy, but the staff was on their toes, checking in, taking away empty plates, being very kind (even though they were clearly crazy with how busy they were). We started with the Brie stuff pretzels. They were more like pretzel sandwiches (pretzel sticks cut in half with Brie in between), but were really tasty. It was all so good, I kept forgetting to take pictures until after we had already dug in. The pretzel app came with 4 pretzel/brie sandwiches. We also got the spinach an artichoke dip. It came with a nice amount of chips (hate when they give you too few and then you're just left with gobs of dip and nothing for it). It also came with salsa and sour cream, which seemed odd, but was nice for the extra chips and also family friendly if the dip didn't appeal to kids. The dip itself was really nice, it didn't taste as rich as spinach and artichoke dips often are. I could really taste the spinach, but in a good way. Usually dips like that make me feel overly full and are so heavy, this was a refreshing take on it. We got the Dutch baby pancake, the kids Mac and cheese, the pimento cheese and ham omelet (which I got scrambled), chicken and waffles, and the hot honey chicken. Overall, the food was delicious. The flavors all had depth and were really satisfying. We came home with lots of leftovers and we were all very happy when the meal was done. We will definitely be going back.

We were actually supposed to go on vacation but apocalyptic weather at our destination meant that every flight to that region was cancelled or severely delayed and ain't nobody got time for that so we decided to take a staycation instead. It felt only right to do the thing we would have done on vacation and go out for dinner. TBH we're old now so vacation or not, we eat on the earlier side of things. I think we went at around 5:30pm. Ample amount of seating available at that time. They have quite a large menu with many intriguing options. Unfortunately, only vegetarian main I recall was the mac and cheese. Instead, I settled on the santa fe salad for my main and GF the lettuce tacos for hers. The appetizer menu was particularly appetizing but we had to settle on two so we went with the spicy cauliflower and brie-stuffed pretzel. The spicy cauliflower was flavored aggressively, in a positive kind of way. The accompanying ranch brought everything together. You also can't go wrong with a brie stuffed pretzel. I don't typically like sweet in what is traditionally a savory flavor profile but the fig jam really added a welcome new dimension. Santa fe salad was gigantic. I actually was able to eat the rest of it for dinner on the following night. Absolutely loaded with goodies like avocado, corn, cheese, black beans, scallions, tomatoes. What a combo of flavors and textures in that thing. GF enjoyed all of the tacos except for nashville hot chicken but she isn't a big fan of chicken to begin with. I was especially impressed by their drink menu. They have a literal "smoked" menu which I could not pass up. I went with the southern smoke which is out of character for me because I typically don't get bourbon (for a reason...and i suffered later). This drink packed a fucking PUNCH. My goodness. There is no candy land bullshit juice drinks here, you definitely get your money's worth. There was a touch of a time period between when I finished my drink and was asked if I wanted another but at least they did ask. Ultimately a good experience. I do wish they had some vegetarian mains but if you aren't vegetarian and like southern food you would probably enjoy tremendously.

I ordered three fish dinners; not only were the portions incredibly small--one piece wasn't even half a fillet--but the fish was old and inedible. The texture was so hard it was clear the food had either been sitting out for a long time or was refried. Beyond the food, the service was unacceptable. My drink was missing, and when I called to resolve it, I was put on hold five separate times, waiting over 10 minutes each time. When I finally spoke to a host, she hung up on me mid-explanation. Subsequent calls went straight to an 'unavailable' recording. As a culinary student, I make it a point to support Black-owned businesses, but great food must be matched by great hospitality. There was zero customer service or problem-solving here. This experience has only motivated me more to ensure that when I open my own doors, my guests receive amazing food paired with the high level of service they deserve. I will be seeking a full refund for the money lost on this inedible meal.

As I was eating it, I was wondering if the fries were just microwaved and not fried in grease. Or maybe they were baked? My biggest issue was the chocolate cake. It tasted like bad store bought cake mix and store bought icing that was thinned out. I've made many of a cake from box mix and container of icing so I'm not judging the fact it tastes like a box mix. Stepped in and was greeted by the nicest lady who immediately offered me a sip of their "uptown" drink - a mix of iced tea and lemonade. It was quite tasty. That was just the beginning of the warmth that this establishment exuded, they were super nice and friendly. They asked my name, but I forgot to ask theirs. As I waited for my food, she began bringing me samples of the sides and desserts. She had me sample the banana pudding (she asked first if I ate bananas) - this was super flavorful of banana, as another review said, not just vanilla pudding with some sliced bananas in it. Beyond that, she brought me a little piece of frosted banana bread, a dense, rich flavorful lemony cake, and a frosted pound cake. The lemony one was my favorite. Next came a bit of sweet potatoes, with huge flavor that I haven't really experienced before in a dish like this. She also let me try the mac and cheese (great spices in it!) and collard greens (tastes just how you expect!), as well as one of their "French fries" which is a round slice of potato, really good and so much more interesting than normal fries. She brought this out with her rib sauce to taste/dip, which was also good. She also had some great conversation about boxing and bringing the neighborhood together. When I got my food, it was bursting out of the takeout container and she had to use a rubber band to keep it closed. The cutlery set came with A dumdum lollipop and a piece of bubble gum as well. I ordered: 2 piece fried chicken - leg and thigh with mac and cheese and collard greens and cornbreak. They also added a few fries in, coleslaw, and hot sauce. The chicken was tasty, but the pieces were huge! The cornbread was dense and sweet, delicious. The coleslaw was super creamy. I'll be back and I'd encourage anyone nearby to check it out.
