I had never actually been to Southern Table, I had only ever had takeout from there once or twice, but I have been wanting to try it for ages and I have to say it was worth the wait. We went on Easter for brunch, which we decided to do last minute and they let us know they could squeeze us in. We sat on the screened in patio. They were massively busy, but the staff was on their toes, checking in, taking away empty plates, being very kind (even though they were clearly crazy with how busy they were). We started with the Brie stuff pretzels. They were more like pretzel sandwiches (pretzel sticks cut in half with Brie in between), but were really tasty. It was all so good, I kept forgetting to take pictures until after we had already dug in. The pretzel app came with 4 pretzel/brie sandwiches. We also got the spinach an artichoke dip. It came with a nice amount of chips (hate when they give you too few and then you're just left with gobs of dip and nothing for it). It also came with salsa and sour cream, which seemed odd, but was nice for the extra chips and also family friendly if the dip didn't appeal to kids. The dip itself was really nice, it didn't taste as rich as spinach and artichoke dips often are. I could really taste the spinach, but in a good way. Usually dips like that make me feel overly full and are so heavy, this was a refreshing take on it. We got the Dutch baby pancake, the kids Mac and cheese, the pimento cheese and ham omelet (which I got scrambled), chicken and waffles, and the hot honey chicken. Overall, the food was delicious. The flavors all had depth and were really satisfying. We came home with lots of leftovers and we were all very happy when the meal was done. We will definitely be going back.

This review is based on multiple takeout visits, along with dining in with friends: Southern Table delivers something that feels just a step above the usual comfort food experience. It takes familiar dishes and presents them with a bit more care and a bit more intention. You taste that difference almost immediately. The food doesn't just satisfy; it reassures you that it was made thoughtfully. Of course, that level of care comes with a price, and you feel it. But in most cases, the quality justifies the cost. You may hesitate when ordering, but not when eating. The undeniable centerpiece is the Bulleit Burger. It's rich, balanced, and memorable in a way that lingers beyond the meal. If you're ordering from Southern Table, it feels less like an option and more like an obligation. Most of my experiences have been through takeout, which has held up well. Still, dining in offers its own appeal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is large and comes with an easy, welcoming energy that works well for a casual night out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highlights: * Bulleit Burger * Elevated presentation and ingredient quality * Consistent execution across visits Lowlights: * Pricing is on the higher side

This was my first time at Southern Table and the second I took a sip of my drink, I already knew I was in trouble...the good kind ;) I had the shrimp and grits, my mom ordered the prime rib, and we basically ended up sharing both because neither of us could stop eating off each other's plates. Everything was seasoned perfectly and full of flavor. But let's talk about the cornbread... unreal. Warm, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth good. I would come back just for that alone. Safe to say this won't be my last visit. Already planning my return!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Southern Table yet. I have been quite a few times and it never disappoints. It won't be the least expensive place you'll hit up but it hits all the high points and does it very well. Service, outstanding. Always friendly. Always accommodating. Checks in enough but not too much. Went this time with some pals for brunch. Pondered the menu trying to decide how we would be able to try enough items without breaking our stomach or the bank. Ended up getting avocado toast with an egg (took fooooorrrrreeevvver to figure out which one we wanted), chorizo ranchero and the signature French toast FTT (for the table). Bloody Mary, latte, cappuccino, tea. It was all delicious.

Wednesday Special -- Pulled Pork Platter

Came here for a special occasion and was absolutely delighted by this place! Let's dive in ... Service: We came on a weeknight and were greeted with a smile and seated right away. They had high chairs for our little one and gave us a nice spot in the corner away from others. Fried Green Tomato (5/5): Didn't know what to expect ordering this -- I must admit I had never tried this before. Holy cow it's toothsome! The perfect amount of breading surrounds a delectable juicy green tomato slice. The dip was creamy and perfectly complimentary. Buttermilk Fried Chicken (5/5): This plentiful plate of chicken (4 pieces) was awesome! The chicken is super juicy and simultaneously has a nice crunch from the exterior in most bites. The spinach on the side of this dish is some of the best sautéed spinach I've had and while this isn't normally a highlight it is worth the mention here. Sweet Potato Fries (4/5): A very tasty crispy fry! Pulled Pork Special (5/5): First of all this is a huge portion of pulled pork and it's got a rich and sweet tangy flavor. The cornbread and southern biscuit have a deep buttery depth and flake in your mouth. The pickled onions and slaws were tasty as well. TL;DR: This high end quality southern cuisine is absolutely worth a try. Will absolutely be returning!

It was my friend and I's first time here and it was great! I made a reservation online ahead of time for Saturday brunch just in case. I had to wait in the parking lot for a spot to open up but it didn't take long. We were greeted by the host and provided menus. Our server Shane was very attentive through the whole meal. I had looked at the menu before we arrived and knew I wanted the shrimp and grits and fried green tomatoes. We ordered the apple pie moonshine which was sneaky strong but delicious and didn't taste like alcohol but hit you hard after. The tomatoes came out quickly and were crispy without being oily with homemade ranch. The shrimp and grits were everything I dreamed of. The cheddar grits had perfect seasoning and the cajun gravy was a little spicy but the perfect amount. I will be dreaming about this dish in the future until I come back! My friend had the chicken and waffles which was a nice portion with 4 pieces of chicken and also perfectly seasoned and a nice crispy waffle. He was given plenty of butter when he asked for it and extra syrup. The place wasn't too loud, was nicely decorated and has a nice heated outer patio thats covered. I will hopefully be back soon!

The pics, reviews, and menu all seemed to point towards a yes - so off we went. Freddy's is located within the main commercial hub of Pleasantville. It's not a large restaurant, but holds a decent amount of seating with tasteful and laid-back decor. We were there right at opening at 4:30p, so it wasn't crowded but started filling up as time progressed. The menu is mostly American - arranged by apps, salads, entrees, sides, and desserts. I decided to start with the burrata which was served with diced butternut squash, brown butter, and grilled bread. This was...not what I was expecting. Burrata usually comes as an intact sphere that you cut open to reveal the soft cheese inside. This was already broken, and served in an almost deconstructed way. It honestly looks like a way to cut corners as it was definitely not a whole burrata. That, and the lack of flavor do not make it worth the $17 they charge. My main was better - I ordered the smoked chicken which was a breast on the bone and came with grits, spinach, and honey au jus. This was tasty - the chicken was juicy with crispy skin, and the au jus added a welcome sweetness to the grits and spinach. We opted for dessert because birthday - I chose the carrot cake which was just okay. No nuts, raisins, or noticeable carrots - so, a spice cake? As a side note, we were there during HV Restaurant week, however in lieu of a dedicated menu they offered a prix fixe app/entree/dessert off their menu. It sounded great at face value, but then we were told the portions would be smaller - and for items they couldn't shrink they up-charged if we ordered off the regular menu. IMO, not the best way to do restaurant week - either have a dedicated menu for it or don't participate at all. That being said, we decided to order off the regular menu. Service was good, everyone was friendly and food came out at a good pace. Overall, Freddy's sent me mixed signals - the food wasn't bad, but this isn't a place I would go out of way to try again - it's more of a local spot in my perspective. If circumstances found me here again, though, I wouldn't be mad.

When we first walked into the restaurant, it struck me more like a bar with tables as it didn't have some of the French influences that I'm used to in the past at other restaurants. We were the only two patrons inside the restaurant granted it was 3:30 on a Sunday. The waiters were very warm, welcoming and pleasant. Both my Guest and I ordered the French onion soup to start. The soup was slightly above warm but not hot considering there was a chill in the area I thought this would be the remedy to regulate our temperatures. Immediately after our soup was taken away we receive our meals, no time wasted. My Croque Monsieur was okay, the taste of the ham and cheese was reasonable, but the bread used was kind of tough and challenging to bite, to separate a bite size amount, I was moved to using a fork and a serrated knife and that made it a little easier. We both had a little bit higher expectations for a French restaurant that met some of our needs, but not all. JTL

The parking was fairly easy to find, lots of street spots. We had made a reservation a few days prior without any issues. The food was pretty decent, we always get potatas bravas at any Spanish tapas place and this was pretty standard. The menu was not too large but had a decent selection. We Started off with drinks and tapas. The drinks packed a nice punch and came out quickly. The tapas were potatoes bravada which consisted of small potatoes cut in squares and fried up with a bravada sauce which went perfectly on top with the crunchy outside and creamy inside of the potato. Next we tried the cod fish fritters which weren't my fave but for people that enjoy cod fish they were good. Crispy outside with cod fish and potato filling. Lastly for tapas we had the broccolini which was flash fried and super crispy almost making it hard to eat but the taste was very good. For main course we had paella for two and the steak and all shared. The paella takes awhile and we were told that so we enjoyed another round of drinks. When the paella came out it was the star of the table. The rice was cooked perfectly aldente and the seasoning and seafood was right on target. The steak was cooked medium and could melt in your mouth it was super tender and the sauce provided was amazing. For dessert we had chocolate mousse and the almond torte and the owner sent over the rest of the desserts for us to try. My fave was the mousse it was made with dark chocolate and had an amazing texture. The next dessert was the crème brulee which was extremely good the crunch on top was perfectly and the pudding itself was light and creamy. The almond torte was a bit dry but the homemade chocolate ice cream helped immensely as it was amazing and paired great with the torte. The cheesecake was our last try and it was very good dense and low sugar but the strawberries and homemade vanilla made it a great cake too Service was amazing very attentive They do take credit card and I would recommend reservations

If you are expecting a nice dinner with good service and a pleasant atmosphere do not go here. Firstly, my husband and I went to have a diner and a drink, we opted to sit at the bar, we sat at the very end corner of the bar, keep in mind the space between where we were sitting and back wall was minimal. A large family came in and as they were waiting for their table they squeezed themselves behind us with their kids practically sitting at the bar with us, we couldn't enjoy the rest of our meal because they kept bumping into us and yelling over us. That's not entirely the issue, the issue is how the bartender Tonianne and management conducted themselves. We told Tonianne that we would have loved to stay but it's very difficult to enjoy a meal. We understood it was busy but instead of apologizing and moving on Tonianne instantly got a very rude attitude and proceeded to go to her manager and talk crap about us in our faces, she even began pointing at us while talking crap. To make matters worse there was a discrepancy with our bill. The owner came over to us after Tonianne continued to talk crap about us in front of the whole bar with other patrons and he attempted to sort the discrepancy with us, once sorted he told us to "get out." I have never been kicked out of a restaurant before for making a comment about children at a bar, people bumping into us, and the inability to actually enjoy a meal because there isn't enough space in the restaurant for people to wait? Maybe get a better system in place to where every patron can enjoy the establishment and leave happy. And to the bartenders who feel it is appropriate to shame paying customers and talk crap about them in front of a whole restaurant I hope you learn to conduct yourself better and have some class next time a situation like this arises. Also.... We weren't the only ones complaining. What a terrible way to be treated.

I am vegetarian and while they have a bunch of veggie appetizers I was disappointed in the complete lack of any vegetarian entree. It's 2026. They have some creative cocktails, GF tried the margarita and liked it enough that she ordered a second. I ordered something with a cheeky name that I believe had vodka and something citrusy/floraly that I also enjoyed. Something kind of strange though, maybe 5-10 minutes after ordering our drinks, another person came over and said "the person who took your drinks didn't get the last 2 so what did you order?" People make mistakes, I get it. Idk how anyone remembers shit anyway but maybe write it down? Either way, it felt strange that someone else came over to say that. It just felt odd. Fortunately our drinks came but we had to flag someone down to order that second margarita later. I ordered the cauliflower and kale soup and the cauliflower fritters mainly because they were 2 of the very limited things I could order but the waiter was a little judge judy (cauliflower soup AND cauliflower fritters?) yes, my guy. The cauliflower and kale soup was under salted which I actually appreciate. I hate when anything is over-salted to the point of drowning out the other flavors. I am impressed by their confidence in the soup to NOT do that but it didn't really stand on its own and was a touch bland. The fritters, on the other hand, were sensational. That roasted beet aioli was delicious and the crispness of the outside of the fritters was a lovely texture. 3/4 of us got our food at least 5 minutes before the last person which is not ideal.
