It's basically a mall food court without the mall. Great food choice options, a lot of seating, great little convenience shop as well. There is a play area for the kiddos and beer for their parents. We were headed to Splatter Charlotte and it was nice to have a place with a changing room (bathroom really) where we could change, get a snack and go. I REALLY liked the uniqueness of this place! Strong Asian influence - practically everything- but there are some non-Asian things, too. It's part gift shop, part grocery and part food hall. I was amazed at how many little gumball-style vending machines they had all lined up together with different toys inside. I love a good food hall and urban district market did not disappoint! It has such a cool vibe with food stalls, a small convenience store and gachopon machines! There are so many good food options here! My favorite is stuffed, there have all types of dumplings! And Bop Bop doing a spin on traditional Korean food! I have had the make my own bimbap from Bop Bop and it's delicious! There are so many vegetables and proteins you can add to make the perfect bowl for you. 10/10 Also have tried the chili edamame from Stuffed. I love, love, LOVE this place. Finally got a chance to try out Rangoon Sushi stand, and OMG this is the best sushi Charlotte in a while. Say this because the rolls were on point and so delicious. I had the Crispy Crab Rangoon Roll (yes, crab Rangoon as sushi) Twilight Roll (no shiny vampires, #teamjacob all the way) and Dynamite Roll, and they were all so yummy. This is a nice spot for a food hall. Parking can be a pain but we were able to find a space. There were several spaces empty inside for more restaurants so it would be nice once they are all filled. Everywhere here is on the pricier end. I did get a spicy chicken sandwich and it was ok. It was not spicy at all and it was rather dry and I paid $12 for it. I ordered several items from the dim sum place and the dim sum came out cold! When I got up there to grab my food I was told that one of the items I ordered was discontinued so I was able to get a refund. But to spend $30 on cold dim sum was not something I had in mind. The market is nice especially if you have kids because there are a lot of snacks and drinks to choose from. I like the little mochi donut place as well. The kiddie section is great for kids. It was nice to grab a table nearby and watch them play. Overall this is a good choice especially if you have kids but just look at the reviews of the food you want to order before you actually order it. read more

This is one of the newer markets in the area. While parking is free, there aren't as many available spots and you have to walk a few minutes. I wasn't sure what to expect once I got inside. It's much smaller than Optimist. And most of the food stalls are Asian themed. With that being said, there are definitely some things that see this market apart. There is a grocery area and a bar. There are also entertainment areas for kids. There are water refill stations, although the provided cups are really small. I opted for a Korean Stone Bowl which was really good. I'm not a big eater and I was able to finish the whole thing. It's a cute spot for a meetup with friends. But if it comes down to food options, I would probably opt for one of the other food markets in the area. read more

The yuzu beta nectar, cool cucumber, melon monster, titanium tiki, spiked bubble tea, watermelon matrix , spicy watermelon mass and their their espresso martini. All really good and served in their unique glasses. Service at the bar was also good . Food wise we had a slew of different things everyone went and got and really enjoyed it all. I personally tried the Indian stand and the Italian. We had the miso truffle mushroom pasta. I liked this but the miso was a little strong. But the mushrooms and truffle flavor was good. Good size portion too. We had the samosa chaat from Indian and this was nice and spicy and very filling! Also the chicken momos, and spicy peanuts and spicy noodles, Dahi puri and chilly potatoes were all really good. Great flavor, spice level, and plentiful. Not as packed and not nearly as overwhelming as the Optimist Hall but Urban District has free parking (not limited to just 90 minutes). Not as many vendors but still a great way to spend an evening. When we arrived on a late Sunday afternoon, there were a few families with their kids playing in the bouncy area and having a good time. We did the loop, checking out the food vendors before making choices. A cook-to-order butcher, Mexican, burgers, Asian-fusion pasta, dumplings, ramen and a large Asian packaged food market with coolers of wine, sake, beer and soju plus omakase and sushi. I've been here more than a few times per my check ins, so it's time for the review. I think this is a great addition to the Noda area. Urban District Market promotes community, fun for family and a place to eat, WITH coffee. I personally do not drink coffee, but I know that's an important factor for people. They have family events, brunch buffet, a play area for kids, a lovely selection of overseas treats. The diversity is off the charts. That's how you start to breed community in Charlotte. Of course there's also a bar for adults. This is also conveniently across from Seoul Market. I personally do ni like Seoul but it is convenient for those who do. The young lady didn't speak English so I wasn't able to ask questions or request that she cooked my egg longer. The bowl was just a flavorless bowl. It was not an authentic Korean meal. This is a ultra-small Optimus Hall without the variety but Korean fusion. This is hands down my last attempt. It's just too expensive too leave with regrets. Got a large group of 30/40 of my friends together to explore Urban District Market. This location is great for a large group. The tables are large and the set up is good for congregating together. There are 2 large play areas for the kiddies and bathrooms on both ends of the building. The concept is ok. There are about 10 different food stalls, a large market and a bar. What I was trying to understand is if all the stalls are connected and not individual independent businesses. They seem to share a cooking area in the back. Most of the stalls are Asian inspired cuisine and the market features mostly Asian items. I spent a lot of money easily. The menu items at the food stalls are a comparable price. I did feel like some of the items in the market were overpriced but I guess you pay for convenience. I also felt like the bar was a little overpriced so I purchased sake at the market. Charlotte has more and more food halls now days. This one is more of an Asian food hall with mix of steaks, burger, and sandwiches. First let's talk about the environment here, this place has great place for family to bring their kids to hang out with great indoor and outdoor area. It is also next Seoul Food with plenty of options for food. This place has many options, burger, steaks, sandwiches, Korean street food, dumplings, udon noodles, coffee shop with desserts, and market with bento boxes. We tried Pork Katsu Sando, Beef Udon, tempura, and shaved ice dessert. Everything tastes great. The only complaint is that some of the tempura is getting cold being out there. Also the price is on the higher side. Lastly I do believe this is all belong to the same owner, so it is not like other food halls that every stalls belong to different owners. Asian Food hall! WHAT!?! How I wish there were more of these. Urban District Market is home to an Asian Grocery store, food hall with about six different stations to order from and a bar. Additionally, the market sits on the Greenway and has a lovely outdoor dining area with a dog park and playground attached. We ordered the Bulgogi Bim Bim Bop. I have been here so many times and the food is always great. Recently, I absolutely loved the tuna poke bowl from Rangoon Sushi! It's a newer stall in UDM and I am so pleased with how it's turned out. I also tried their spicy tuna roll, and a word to the wise: it is spicier than any spicy tuna roll I have ever had, and it's not close. It's delicious, but be warned. The service at UDM is also always great, with very kind and helpful staff. So about a month before visiting Charlotte, a reel about this place pops up on my Instagram feed. I saved it and sent it to my son. We decided to visit when I was in town and really liked the area. It's a food hall and they are still adding to it. They currently had about eight stalls open for service and looked to be adding another six. There's plenty of seating inside and out on the patio. This place has a kiddie play area to the right as you enter. It's situated right next to the LaBAratory which is a huge bar. They were only providing service at the main entrance of the bar, but they have there own private section in the back with rooms to rent and doors that lead to the outside patio. I can tell that once this place is completed they will probably be open past the normal business hours for late night cocktails or as an entertainment spot because they can be closed off from the main hall. So many restaurants to choose from and it was so hard to decide. We literally walked around to each to see what they had to offer before settling on Bop Bop. The food was delicious that we purchased and sitting near other patrons asking them about other restaurants they were happy with their choices as well. I like that they have a cleanup crew that comes around and pick up your dishes and trash for you. This is going to be a very happening spot once the word gets out further so go check it out for yourself. read more

This place is okay... I think it can be good when all the shops come in and it is full but for now I had an okay experience. The place is nice and spacious and in a great location in Noda, right next to Seoul Food! There is also a parking lot in the back so you don't have to hunt for parking. For some reason people were not really friendly and everyone just pointed to the QR codes on their walls/counters. My friend said the same. But I guess that's how it is nowadays. Overall I spent a lot but was not satisfied. What I tried: THE RARE BUTCHER: We got the wagyu steak, medium. It was good, cooked right, and juicy. Presented nicely and tasted good. Probably our favorite item. $40. HC BURGER COMPANY: We got a regular cheeseburger and added some toppings. It was good and juicy, I wouldn't say it's the best burger ever or a burger I might remember but it was satisfying and pretty big. Not enough cheese. STICK STREET: I wanted to try stick street so bad from pictures I saw but I suggest they should move all the sticks to the back and put the grill in the front so people can see how good everything looks as it's being cooked/when it's finished. Seeing a bunch of raw sticks sitting out together did not look appetizing and turned me off a little bit. I only ended up getting the kalbi stick, but it actually turned out to be amazing. TACO ADVENTURE COMPANY: I like how the meats are cooked on a vertical cooker shawarma style. However I hope to see them expand the menu because they only have beef, chicken, or pork and don't offer lettuce, queso, sour cream, or anything really. They do have cilantro, onions, and salsa but they should have more for being inside a food hall. CRISPY PATTY: I got the soft shell crab sandwich and I really had high hopes because I saw a charlotte food reviewer post a review video of it and it came in a long hot dog style bun and looked super appetizing with sauce drizzled all over it. The newest food hall Charlotte absolutely needed! UDM just opened 4/17/23 and seems to be still working out some growing pains. Opening with unique and different food stalls with plenty more to come! Woohoo for options. Had to check this place out asapolis. Online says they're open until 11:30 PM so we came strolling in at 9:20 PM. Well friends....they actually close at 9:30 PM (for now) with a goal to eventually close at 11:30 PM. I hate being that person that comes into an establishment right before closing time but there was still a big crowd. I also hate feeling rushed when ordering. Plenty of outside and inside space. Doggos are allowed on the patio. There is also a kid friendly play area inside by the main entrance. Something for everyone- love to see it. The bar is the first thing you see when you walk in- genius right? The Labratory specializes in soju cocktails. They don't distill they're own soju yet but as soon as the brewery opens they will be. I got the mango soju and it was great- perfect for summer with a cute presentation. If you go for a soju cocktail these run $19 a pop. Best to share them. Too bad they don't have individual soju cocktails, maybe in the future. I appreciated that every food stall available was different. We tried the Crispy Patty & Stick Street. Both were good but not fabulous. We got the soft shell crab from Crispy Patty and while the flavors were good it was served in a hot dog bun? Kind of odd if you ask me. Stick Street is a fun concept and they are apart of Seoul (which is right across the parking lot). I LOVE Seoul but didn't love Stick Street. We tried the pork belly, octopus and steak. Pork belly was the favorite! Octopus was surprisingly good, a little on the chewy side but not bad. We sat at the bar and had great service. Bartender was friendly and seemed passionate about the opening (which seems rare these days). Parking situation is not great and probably the biggest hurdle when visiting. They have their own private lot but we came in right before they closed and were lucky to find parking! Let me start out with all the good things: All the food we got was so yummy (90%)!! The staff was extremely friendly and ready to serve the customers. There is plenty of seating for any size group and although it is setup like a cafeteria, I think you can find it cozy for a date if you pick the right spot. Now why it lost a star in my book. I purchased my food from Stick Street. Although my hotdog was tasty I think I got shorted on my dog you can see it in the picture. It definitely didn't look like the picture on the computer screen. I asked for my Korean Cheese dog NOT to be dusted with anything and it came with a sugar dusting. The stuffed jalapeño that I ordered was out of stock so although the computer let me order it and pay for it, they didn't have it and I had to get a credit card refund when I picked up my order. Everything from the Stuffed stall and Udon came out delicious!! But the burger from The HC Burger Company was grainy. It was super hot sitting inside. I don't know if there was something wrong with the air conditioner but we were roasting!! It's a fun idea and it is worth trying out.
