    Chow Mein, shrimp

yummy Stopped by here for some din and was glad I did. The restaurant was not busy so we sat down right away. The staff here are very friendly and kind. We tried the chicken momos, brussel sprouts, lamb choila, and shrimp chow mein. The highlights for me were probs the chicken momos and the chow mein. The brussels were delicious but didn't feel Napalese? Just your standard roasted brussels with a creamy sauce on top. The lamp was well spiced but a bit tough. For a chain, this is a solid spot and a definite contender amongst downtown PA.

$18 for four tiny samosas. And then they support local businesses. Not if they decide to arbitrarily price items. Not coming back again

Chicken momos were delicious! Flavorful and juicy and came with two sauces for a fun variety of flavors in every bite. The gobi manchurian had strong flavors so I'd recommended eating not that much or with rice, but it was still great, a bit crispy, and a good level of spice for me. Just sad that I requested utensils but wasn't given any, especially since the gobi manchurian is really saucy. Ended up getting creative and ripping off some foil and using it to pick up the food...

Super super delicious! Everything is so fresh and delicate. The chow mein has so much flavor and is not greasy and all the ingredients are so well done. The curry is so complex and delicious and not too heavy or greasy. Very very delicious! The place is very clean and airy and nice to sit in as well.

Great food! Momos were kind of overpriced but it was really good. They had good noodles and chicken was well cooked.

Updated Review We…read morewent back to Himalayan Kitchen in Mountain View today because we had such a great experience during our first visit, especially with the Vijayawada Boneless Biryani. Unfortunately, today's experience was completely different and very disappointing. We ordered the Vijayawada Boneless Biryani and the Fry Piece Biryani. The boneless biryani was extremely spicy and had only about 6 pieces of chicken with a huge amount of gravy. This was nothing like the biryani we had during our first visit. We brought this to the person's attention while the food was right in front of him. Instead of acknowledging the issue, he initially told us that wasn't true. He eventually said sorry, but then told us they couldn't compensate us because the biryani was already over. We never even asked for compensation, so that response was especially upsetting and unnecessary. The Fry Piece Biryani was also very underwhelming. What makes this more disappointing is that we specifically came back because our first experience was so good. We genuinely loved the Vijayawada Boneless Biryani during our first visit and were excited to have it again. Unfortunately, the food quality was completely different this time, and the way our concern was handled made the experience even worse. I really hope the restaurant can be more consistent with the food and, more importantly, listen to customers when they point out a genuine issue.

Chhoila chicken Momo 10 pcs $19.98 -- I was warned about the spice level that this can be really spicy and in actuality, it's not that spicy -- so if you're used to eating spicy food, you'll enjoy this dumpling. For reviewers who didn't enjoy the momos, it's probably because they ordered a plain version. Timur chicken $18.99 - this one was the highlight! Has that numbing Sichuan pepper -- simply delicious! Buffalo jhaneko sekuwa set $23.99 - spicy and flavorful. My only critique is that there wasn't enough buffalo Service was polite. Wait was 15 minutes for dishes to arrive to the table. Ambiance is typical dark vibe. I love the comfortable booth seating. Not crowded at all at 3pm on a Friday. Parking was about a block away. Total bill was $99.25 for 4 dishes. I thoroughly enjoyed most of the flavors and my overall experience was good but the portions for the meat are rather small so I have to mark down a star for overall value.

We ordered a few dishes, starting with the raw oysters with fermented chili sauce and curry leaf ponzu sauce. The shellfish was extremely fresh, and the condiments were refreshing and complemented it perfectly. I particularly loved the ponzu sauce, it was so zesty! We also ordered the jackfruit sliders, and they honestly gave major Mumbai Vada Pav vibes. They were spicy and extremely flavorful; I almost forgot it was jackfruit! The ananas (Pineapple) pani puri was a refreshing flavor bomb! For mains, we got the black truffle cheese naan with cultured butter. I loved the butter; the naan was filled with cheese, and the truffles weren't prominently earthy; hence, they added a touch of umami. We also got the Kali Miri paneer with garlic naan, along with the lamb and squash with quinoa pulao. The paneer and naan were probably the most classic-tasting dish on the table and were deliciously prepared. The lamb and squash were equally good, but the quinoa pulao was the real star, a little spicy and super minty. We also got the dosa, which was good, but it got a bit overshadowed by the other fantastic dishes. The little diner with us got the French toast with jaggery syrup and passion fruit ricotta ice cream, which he totally devoured. While I did not taste the French toast, I did sample the ricotta ice cream, and it was light, fruity, sweet, and slightly tart, but delicious nonetheless. The presentation wasn't performative or chaotic; it was stunning and minimalist. Also, shoutout to Chef Srijith Gopinathan for his distinct take on modern contemporary Indian Cuisine. Service was surprisingly fast even though the restaurant was packed. Dining at Ettan made our family weekend lunch truly memorable.

The menu seems to have changed quite a bit from 2 years ago as I could not find most of the items old reviews on Yelp were referring to lol. So I had to mostly go with my gut feeling: the fried chicken (which is one of this place's signatures), the lamb shank and brisket (shocking to find beef in an Indian restaurant). By the way the manager dropped by and took our order: very patient, very kind, and knowledgeable (you bet) about the menu. The brisket was ordered per manager's recommendation. The starch that comes with the main dishes can be swapped out to your liking. Lamb shank: 5/5. Perfectly cooked, interestingly flavored. I particularly enjoyed the sauce. Finished it all. Fried chicken: 4.5/5. Tasty, flavorful, pairs well with the yogurt sauce that comes with it. Portion is on the small side so beware if you are sharing with over 4 people. Brisket: 2.5/5. The flavor is on point. The sauce that comes with it is good too. But the meat is a bit too dry or stringy for my taste. Perhaps I was too hyped and it did not live up to my expectations. Portion is pretty decent though. Overall I really enjoyed the environment and service here. Seems like a perfect place for business gatherings or special events. At this price point my bar for 5 star would be higher and unfortunately this place did not meet that bar this time. By the way, the waiter kindly offered to provide kid's menu options that are non-spicy as most of the items on the regular menu are spicy to some extent. We liked it hot but the little ones not so much.

I originally wanted tacos (which was unavailable) but noticed this food truck instead. For reference, I've never tried Nepalese/Indo-Chinese food, so I figured I would give it a shot. The guy running the food truck is soft-spoken but was able to provide suggestions. When I asked what was popular, he told me that people try the dumplings, so I ordered one (1), which come in a set of 8. Each one is about the size of two quarters in diameter (for scale). It comes with sauces on the spicy side. I figured that alone wasn't enough to alleviate my hunger pangs, so I ordered the Paneer Chow Mein and Mango Lassi, too. My order came out after 15 minutes. In the meantime, I waited under the tent that was stationed with a dining table next to the truck. Paneer Chow Mein - 6/10. Tastes like your average standard Chow Mein. I didn't know what paneer was, but after a quick Google search, it's cheese with the look, texture and taste of tofu. I ate enough to send me into a food coma. The guy packed plenty into the container (and I barely made a dent), so I rated it higher. Chicken Momo (Dumplings) - 7/10. What you'd expect of a chinese steamed dumpling but with a slight twist. I don't have a diverse culinary palate, but there was a hint of a curry(esque) flavor in the filling. Delicious with the sauces. Mango Lassi - 1000000/10. I am a sweet tooth and woah....I absolutely love this drink. It is an Indian mango yogurt drink that is not too thick or sickly sweet. It has a thick consistency and was perfect to have during the summer as a dessert. It was about $4 for 12oz but I had to order another one for the road because it is exactly what I needed. They catered our wedding of 260 guests, and Tarun and his team completely blew everyone away. We had a VERY hard-to-please crowd, including a lot of guests coming from India who work in hospitality and restaurants themselves, and people could not stop talking about the food. I searched high and low for a Bay Area Indian wedding caterer and honestly found a lot of the options disappointing. Amber was completely different. The food was incredibly flavorful, beautifully cooked, and actually presented well too, which can be hard to pull off at this scale. They are also a full service caterer, which makes managing the event much easier. We used Amber for all of our wedding events, and Tarun made sure every menu felt different and interesting rather than just repeating the standard butter chicken-type dishes. We had paneer tacos, Indo-Chinese served in Chinese takeout boxes, which was SUCH a cute touch, pani puri shooters that made them super easy to eat, and an incredible rasmalai tres leches for dessert, among many other items. The value is also amazing. For some of our pre-wedding events, we did their roughly $40/person package with four items plus dessert. I was worried it might not be enough food, but it was more than plentiful. Tarun himself is an absolute gem. He is kind, accommodating, creative, and goes above and beyond to make the event feel special. You can tell he genuinely cares. We did not want a standard buffet as we wanted the event to feel more elevated, and he did a great job of accomodating our request for family style, as well as serving apps + mains at two different venues in the South Bay ~20-30 min from each other. Our guests are still talking about the food. Amber India truly helped make our wedding weekend, and I would recommend them without hesitation. Easily one of the best decisions we made.
