This location has a couple floors and is usually well stocked. The people who work here are friendly and very helpful and it's very clean.

It's not a bad store, it's super cute and pretty clean, but I just had a bad experience here. One time I was there, there was 20 minutes until closing time and I was adding up some prices of what I picked out. It was at this point that I noticed I had accidentally got the wrong size in these pants I got, and I was about to just switch them out real quick before heading to the checkout. Then over the intercom thing they said "it is now 20 minutes until closing time, so please make your final selections and head to the checkout", and I was like ok perfect timing I just need to switch this and it's right here. But when I turned around to face the rack with the pants, there was a bunch of security guys kinda pushing everyone out. I was right in front of the rack, so I asked the guy who was blocking me from it if I could just switch out the size really quickly, and he firmly said "No. We're closed. You need to go to the checkout." and continued backing me up. So I was like "really I can't just switch it even tho it's right there?", and he said no so I gave up and went downstairs. Now, I do understand that places like to start closing up a little before their closing time so they can leave at that time, but there was 20 whole minutes until the store closed, there was a line at the checkout to wait in, and I just needed to simply switch the item for the correct size. Keep in mind, the rack with the pants was legitimately no more than 2 feet behind him. I felt like it was just so rude and unnecessary for him to not let me. Like why did it matter if I waited in line for 5 minutes, or switched out the pants I needed and waited in the line for 4 1/2 minutes ??? I could have easily switched them and then just been the last person in line, but he just didn't let me!! It was so disappointing!!! I ended up not getting the pants because they were a size too small so I just had to let the check out person take them. :((( Why couldn't I even say ok then I don't want them, and put them back on the rack behind him?? Idk I really don't get it. Then I came back when I was in the area about a month later and all of those pants were completely gone. I saw so many of the same items that were there before, but not the pants I wanted so badly. I can't find them online, or literally anywhere else on earth, which makes no sense. The staff had no idea why this was either/where they went. It's just so upsetting knowing I could have had these one of a kind (apparently?), cutest pants ever, but I can't all because this random security guy wanted to go home 10 seconds sooner. It's giving: how dare you make a mistake, get out! I'm now going to cry myself to sleep over these pants; thank you for listening to my rant. read more

Awesome store. It has plenty of room to kick around in and there is plenty of merchandise with clothing, candles, beauty items and even some books. I picked a really good day to go there because they were having 20% off all beauty items and I'm really into the beauty thing. I bought a pomegranate sheet masque, two eyeshadow palettes from BH Cosmetics (a beauty line I've really been wanting to try), and I also got a grapefruit scented shower steamer which I will dissolve tonight when I go take my shower. Horrible quality, overpriced I have bought many clothing items from Urban Outfitters and they are all poor quality. They turned out to stretch so much they don't fit me, get wrinkled too easily, and they rip. They are way too overpriced but the workers there are pretty chill. Don't buy anything there! read more

This Urban Outfitters location is so nice. There is a lot of space, tons of room to walk around and lots of cute stuff to check out. There are also registers on both floors which is great, a really nice selection of cosmetics and other beauty products, a fab intimates display, and so much more. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuper trendy and hipster chic, Urban never fails to deliver that slacker-cool vibe while imposing a pseudo-uniform to its twentysomething masses. The clothes are a little more wallet-friendly than American Apparel but if you're going that route you should really think that choice over because that ironic t-shirt might not go so well with those skinny jeans. And that flannel top? Don't even think about it with those hi-tops. All the apartment and toy knickknacks are all over the place, and the layout is ginormous, but either way you won't stop browsing. Winter time thins out the tourist crowd. (And they have mighty fine clearance sales for spring inventory.) Go then. Or go online. read more

This UO was totally underwhelming. The store itself was a great, interesting space, but I feel like there was almost nothing here -- a few sweaters piled here, couple of necklaces draped there, maybe a purse hanging off a chair, that's it. Also, and this is unrelated to this UO specifically, but has anyone noticed that almost all the clothing from UO lately has been repurposed clothing? I'm all for being green and reusing, but the clothing looks like it only has one or two wears left in it; too bad the price isn't commensurate with the apparent quality. A plaid shirt from the late 1980's that's given a few new buttons and a random zipper doesn't warrant a $59.95 price tag. read more

From my experience (UOs in Harvard Square, at a mall outside Washington D.C., and Newbury), I find this store's setup quite interesting. From my first experience, I felt the store led me through its eclectic rooms full of knick-knack accessories, then upstairs to womens', after the sales rack/ fitting area, followed by womens' shoes, mens' shoes, mens' clothings and back down again. It is a creative horseshoe shape. One less star because everything generally is outrageously expensive. Although on days with sales, you can find delights like my Roman gold/brown sandals for $5, dark blue Lux jeans for $10, thin angora chemise for $5, voluminous large flower knee-length skirt for $7. read more

I really don't think I can walk by this store and not go in because they always have fun random books and cool clothes. And cheap sunglasses that are cute, great acessories, the list goes on! So when I was showing my friend from Cali the city we ened up in the area and naturally went shopping. It was one of the bigger Urbans I have been in -we totally lost each other a few times in the store. I think we there for a good hour or two. I found a few cute dresses and she found some pretty tops and we found a bunch more stuff we loved but didn't really need . And when we were leaving we ended up trying on scarves and going back for one more purchase. Love this place! read more

Im a tattooer and I was doing a guest spot out of town and went into this urban outfitters to purchase a camera for my girl and I was brought one that wasnt in the box. actually I was asked if I needed the box and I said yes cause it was a present. I didnt give it a second thought and the box was thrown in the bag with the camera and film. total cost 170 bucks. I got back to the shop and some friends stopped by and I pulled it out to bring home pictures of out friends to give her. the camera was covered in inspection stickers,cracked ,broken,dirty,looked like it was dropped from a moving vehicle. i was infuriated and called and bitched and the reason I was truly upset is because I was from out of town I didnt have a car and took public transit to get there and back to the shop and it took an hour and a half and cost a bit in trains and cabs and then i had to go back and missed two appointments and had to call it a day. they did refund my cash with no problem and apologized. it cost me a shitload of money,I would have been better off saying screw it and sending it back but I was so upset. in total,this cost me about 500 bucks cause the man working there didnt look at an out of the box product before he gave it to me and it was my fault for trusting someone else to do their job. Perhaps it is because of my love for American Apparel that I cannot give UO more than two stars. Perhaps it is because the service at AA has ALWAYS been friendly and helpful whereas UO is hit or miss. Perhaps because, as far as being overpriced hipster-wear, AA's quality is much more apparent and you do not feel as though you've just gotten ripped off. I have, however, been with various girl friends of mine and they not only love the clothing but it looks good on them. Stopped by today on a grad-gift shopping errand. They are now selling vinyl records and record players--think I noted that last winter on a greeting card run. I think there merchandise for home is a little more curated toward the upside--via sister store Anthropologie. The layout is a little odd -- two first floor entrances with stairways up to 2nd floor. First floor on one side has home offerings and the other the music, iPhone covers, et al. The second floor has all the clothes, cosmetics, accessories with sprinkling of home displays throughout--again very similar to Anthropologie layout. There was a small clearance section for home/gifts on the 2nd floor--midway by the windows, last visit it was tucked on opposite back/not sure if this is permanent move, etc. read more

It's weird; I've come in here a dozen times. I've always wanted to buy something from here, but I never have! I think one of the problems is that most of their stuff are just too emo or artsy for my taste. The other is that their shirts are expensive. Now I don't mind dropping a few bucks for a shirt sold in Nordstrom, but I feel weird paying $35 on a goofy no name company's funny tshirt. But that's just me, I guess... But for whatever reason, it never hurts to come in and have a look around. At the very least, you'll probably get a laugh at some of their novelty items. read more

I am not sure if this is just me, but I have always liked Urban Outfitters. But I have not bought much stuff there. So what does that mean? Well, I guess I like going in there to see their little gadgets and funky T-shirts but often come out empty handed. Maybe I am not hip enough to purchase their items. Maybe I know that their T shirts will be wrinkled up forever after a few washes. But I have to admit that I like going in there. This branch has a unique layout compared to other places (say Newbury and Harvard Sq.), so it may be fun for you to visit if you are a UO enthusiast. read more

Yes the clothes at Urban Outfitters are awesome but has anyone ever noticed how unhappy the employees all look? On top of that its always sweltering on the upper levels of the Fanuiel Hall store and freezing cold on the lower levels in the fall/winter cause their front doors are always propped open. And the clothes all cost more than their worth since anyone that shops there even fairly regularly knows that anything you get will fall part soon after. and on top of all of that the company's "Urban Renewal", which is just stuff you can find at the goodwill or any thrift store for generally less than $20 that they charge $80 for. I really like the style of their merchandise, but Urban Outfitters are pretty crappy. read more

This is my favorite UO location. It is super close to my work and I love the layout. The staff is really friendly but not bothersome. My go-to items at UO are always jewelry, undies, and sweaters. The sale racks here are huge too. I just love everything here. I wish I could afford it all! read more

i think urban outfitters is fantastic for christmastime... i can always find random crap in the clearance section. that's the thing... the clearance section here is fantastic. i pretty much exclusively shop in this section. i can't always justify the normal prices because i've paid $30 for a tee shirt before and it's no different than the tee shirt i got at old navy for $5. they always have great books and, like i said, this place is excellent for gifts. urban outfitters is a gold mine for yankee swap ideas. love it. i think i'm too fat for the pants here, though. and by fat i mean, their size 12 is a size 4 or something like that. nah, i'm really tall for a chick and i have a hard time buying pants anywhere, so don't base my opinions on real life. read more

I like the funky loft-like space, but it's a bit overwhelming when you are dying from the lack of air in there and you have to go upstairs, downstairs and around little nooks and crannies....very cramped in the ladies dept..but strangly enough the home goods take a wide space in the middle when sumthing else could be spread out...the sale section here sucks! they always stick it in this horrid back space and you can never get around and really dig in to look...the racks are all over the place and everything is disorganized! The only cool thing I liked was the fitting room area with a nice couch and books you can browse thru when you need a breather... read more

The best UO location in Greater Boston, for whatever that's worth. The layout is nice, browser friendly and feels less crowded than other stores. Skip Newbury St and hit this one instead. I just wish they still had a home accessories section. read more

I love the stuff that Urban Outfitters has. They're a bit too pricey for me, but I always find things I like, whether I actually buy them or not. However, the thing about this one at Faneuil Hall is that it's ALWAYS messy and totally gross-looking. I think the UO on Newbury St keeps their store much cleaner and organized, so I'd say that if you've got a choice, go to the one on Newbury. It's not much better because I think it's just the way the store runs things, but the Newbury location seems to be much bigger, more open, and not so confusing to navigate through. read more
