We were pleasantly surprised with the variety of items here. Besides clothes, they sell books, toys, and skin care products. We even found lavender scented skin toner! Believe it or not, they sell hangover patches...not that Lisa or I needed it ;) Great customer service. They're very particular as to who they hire. Usually younger girls and they allow them to wear outfits that are so NOT appropriate for work?? One girl working there was wearing leggings with some type of slippers on & a shirt that was risqué. The employees are rude and ignorant. Not to mention this store is SO OVERPRICED you're better off going to a thrift store because that's basically the kind of clothes they sell. Super destressed jeans or cute sweatshirts. But why are the plain sweatshirts $60-80?!?!)!? Not worth it don't waste your hard earned money here!!!!! read more

This has to be the cleanest and brightest urban outfitters I have ever visited. As soon as I walked in through the doors...I didn't feel like i was in an urban...felt more like an American Eagle? But in any case, the clothes were definitely urban friendly...and they had a pretty nifty sale going on both times I was there. The service is friendly...and I've come to find out that they now offer to email you the receipt. Cool concept. Not as crowded as the location in SF that I normally frequent...and not as big...but a nice selection to choose from. Good stuff. read more

This used to be my go-to place for my 3 kids to do their clothes shopping. The clothes are trendy, comfortable, and good deals can be found from time to time. Unfortunately, because of ridiculously bad customer service, we won't be shopping there anymore. What happened: I bought my daughter a shirt with thin shoulder straps. One strap broke the day after we bought it, the first time she wore it. We took it back to the store to get a replacement, but they didn't have the right size. The clerk ordered a new shirt for us, to be mailed to our home. The package never arrived, and about 3 weeks later I returned to the store to report this. They offered to send it again, which I accepted because my daughter really wanted the shirt. A few days later I received an email from UO saying that because the original purchase was over 30 days ago, they would not be issuing a refund or sending a new shirt. I responded, and urged them to reconsider because we had returned the defective shirt the day after we had purchased it, after all. Not our fault that we never received the replacement they were supposed to send. UO never responded. If they won't stand behind their clothes for a long time customer, plus blindly follow a return policy that doesn't even apply to my situation, they've lost a customer for life. read more

Personally, Urban Outfitters is my favorite store. Possibly ever. I love the clothes and there's no other store that will sales that take eighty dollar jeans down to twenty, sometimes *ten* dollars, or coats from over a hundred dollars to just fifteen! This particular location is a little smaller than the ones in San Francisco that I've visited, but the people are friendly and there's a... comforting feel when you walk in. I love the availability of the staff, and the effort they put into making your experience good. I loved the sale room, which they have separated from the rest of the store, and they have that organized by price and product--this makes it extremely to find what you're looking for. The floor plan is a little confusing at times, and they do move things around, but that's not much of an issue. The men's section in a little small, and my brother's have a hard time finding specific items at this location. But other than that... amazing! read more

Great store catering to fashion-conscious teens and young adults. But I'm neither one of those. I can appreciate the styles and the fashion, but most of it doesn't fit this middle-aged body. Prices are generally inexpensive, but you can tell why when you look closely at the garments - they are not made particularly well. They'll hold up just fine for one fashion season. Store clerks are friendly and helpful without being in your face, and the displays are updated frequently with cool design techniques. A fun place to shop for my teenage nieces and nephew. read more

I really liked this store, and I used to make special trips out to this location once a month or so, until this morning when it got 2 incredibly old charges posted to my account. Apparently I had paid "credit" (the girl at the register did not say anything about it being a credit charge and I asked for debit) month and a half ago. I noticed the charges pending, and THIS MORNING apparently they just went through. Never buying anything from this company again. I now have 3 dollars for the next 2 week. read more

I love Urban Outfitters! I am so glad they finally opened on in Marin! This particular location is just okay compared to their other stores I have visited but still offers great sales and selection! The things I do like about this store is that the floor is kept a lot tidier than other stores. I attend school at UCSC and the Urban located in Downtown Santa Cruz is always a mess - especially their sale section. My experiences in at the Corte Madera location are much more pleasant. The sale room is always organized so clothing is easily found and accessible whereas at many Urbans I have been to their sale section is always on the ground and shoes are piled up into bins, total chaos! The only negative things are that they do not have as much variety as I have seen in other stores. Also, the sale prices are not as low as I have seen at other stores. The same bag I got on sale in Santa Cruz was the original price in Corte Madera! read more

Giving this urban outfitters location 5 stars for their customer service. I always go to this location, but nothing has sparked me to write a yelp review until today. I dropped an item in the store after purchasing (I did not ask for a bag and both items I bought were black so I didn't notice it when I got in my car) and did not realized it had happened until I got home. I would like to thank Kiana for picking up my call, taking the time to look around the store for the item, recovering the item, and placing it on hold for me to pick up days after. Savannah, the manager...was absolutely amazing! After having SEVERAL issues trying to order something online...the item finally sold before I was able to get my order processed. The item was available at this store and Savannah remedied the situation and I was able to get my item shipped to me and all was well. She was so great and really made it a point to excel with Customer Service and did everything she could to make it right. Amazing! You expect this service from Nordstrom and Saks...bravo Urban for being great! read more

I was popping into the Urban Outfitter store to quickly try on a pair of pants for work. I tried on two pairs of pants in the dressing room. When I entered the dressing room one of your employee's asked me how many items I had and wrote the number on the dressing room door. After trying on my pants (neither of which fit), I went and put them back on the hanger, brought them out of the room and put them on the unwanted clothes rack inside the dressing room. I then went and found two dresses and another pair of pants to try on. I once again told the dressing room attendant how many items that I had. She put the number on the door without counting my items and left. When I was finished trying on the dresses I politely hung them back on the hangers and put the remaining unwanted items back on the rack. As I was leaving the dressing room, I hear a voice telling me to "Stop" and to "Wait right there." She then accused me of stealing. She said that she saw me with something in my hand and that and that an item was missing from the store. Next, she called for help on her walkie talkie. A manager came in and asked me to explain what was going on. She once again made a false accusation saying that one of the items that I had tried on in the dressing room was missing. I really couldn't believe that this was happening. I told her to go ahead and check my bags. I also had to defend myself yet again, sharing with the manager everything that I had tried on. Finally after a good 15 minutes, and after having multiple shoppers in the store staring at me, I was released to go. As I was leaving the store, I found myself turning back around and asking to speak to the manager again. This time they sent me to someone else who really didn't make me feel better at all. Not once did she apologize. Finally after talking to 3 different employees I left again. As I was approaching the door another man approached me. He claimed that he runs the store and finally apologized for the incident. He was very genuine and kind and tried to fix the problem that was clearly to late to solve. He claimed that the employee was new and that she should not have been on the floor. She was only supposed to be shadowing. He then went on to say that if I ever came back to the store to come find him and that he would 'hook me up' with some deep discounts. Never once did he take down my name, or have the other woman apologize to me. It's unrealistic to ever think that I would go back to that store and ask the manager for a discount after being accused of stealing. He should have taken down my name right then and there and made it right. Needless to say, I'm still shaken about the whole situation. My heart was literally racing the whole time. This was by far the most embarrassing, and unethical incident that has ever happened to me. Their employee basically insulted my integrity as a human being. I'm a 38 year old adult, a private school educator, a mother, and a home owner. I have never stolen a thing in my life. I was actually being thoughtful, making sure to hang up all of my items and bring them out for the dressing room attendant. So upsetting. Today is only their third or fourth day open, so things were understandably slow. The cashiers needed a great deal of assistance from the manager, there were too many staff members on the floor, some of them rushing around getting in the customer's way - basically, procedures and protocol didn't seem to be fully in place yet. There is a lot of great merchandise though, and the store has tons of potential. The signage about the Black Friday sale was totally unclear and misleading. The sign on the door did not indicate the hours of the sale (apparently, 8am-10am), it just said 50% off. They took the sign down at 10am, but people that went in at 9:30am and didn't check out until 10:15ish would not notice that a sign on the door was removed. I checked the website last night and this morning, and it said nothing about the limited sale hours for this location. That was disappointing, but again, it's a new operation, and hopefully they will get the kinks worked out soon. read more

Today I had an exceedingly negative experience at this store. I have been shopping at this Urban Outfitters for years, and have had no complaints thus far. Today me and a friend of mine went shopping for some underwear and bralettes. They had a few sales buckets out for the underwear, so I grabbed a couple and went to try them on. When I got to the dressing room, an employee counted my items, kept all my underwear and wrote the number of my bralettes on the door. I was irked that I was unable to try on the underwear I wanted, but as stealing is usually a concern for places like Urban, I put that aside. My friend was allowed to take her underwear to her dressing room, tried out her bralettes and gave the unwanted bralettes and underwear back to the dressing room clerk as did I. When we left the dressing room, we were aggressively stopped by a middle aged woman and (publicly) accused of stealing because a tag in my friend's dressing room "wasn't there before she went in". As it was a Saturday afternoon, the store was packed with teenage girls, some of which are my acquaintances. I repeat we completely abided by store protocol and were publicly shamed and harassed for something entirely out of our control and not our problem. My friend opened her bag and every pocket inside, took off items of her clothing and was continually questioned and given a disrespectful demeanor and attitude towards the situation. It was highly unprofessional. This was incredibly embarrassing, and as somebody with social anxiety this situation brought me entirely too much panic-attack-causing negative attention. She proceeded to take the underwear I wanted to buy and put it back on the racks, and followed me to the checkout area. I bought one bralette, and my friend was in tears and decided to buy nothing. This is a store I come into often, and never have I been made to feel like such a delinquent. I am a published writer and student, and I have never stolen an item in my life. And yet my integrity as a human being was publicly questioned. This is my first time writing a yelp review, as I'm usually understanding of miscommunications and misunderstandings in retail and food service establishments. Giving this store 1 star feels like excess recognition. This experience has completely changed my view of a store I once loved and frequented weekly. Please fix this issue. read more

After placing my order online the website said they were in stock however they cancelled my order a week later and then said they were on backorder a week after I had ordered them a second time. It's been to weeks and with actual shipping they'll be 2 weeks late from my friends birthday, which is what they're for. I understand this product is in high demand however there was no reason for my order to be canceled and also no reason for the shoes to have been on backorder after a week of having ordered them. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is for their selection in clothing. I am throughly disappointed in my shopping experience here. I was here May 23rd around 10:30. I came prepared to purchase a few new outfits and spend considerably money. However, as my mom and I entered the fitting room, I was shocked by the rudeness of the sales woman attending the rooms. She was young, long brownish/wavey hair, but unfortunately I didn't get her name. I can even describe how rude she was to both me and my mom. I would have loved to had talked to manager, however there was no one on the floor for me to approach. From now on, I will stick with purchasing Urban Outfitters online. If you are looking for a fun shopping experience where you can try stuff on with girlfriends, play with accessories DONT GO HERE. My girls love this store so we spend a lot of money here. The staff are kind of young. Marissa was extremely helpful and gave good service and her honest opinion when we asked recently. Went above and beyond to find my 15 year old the dress she wanted in exchange for her Christmas gift. Called other stores and looked online.
