Haven't been to an Urban Outfitters in such a long time! Probably the last time I stepped foot in one of their stores was over 10 years ago! Besides, it's been so convenient to shop online and have items shipped to your home address as it's been the norm since Covid turned the whole world upside down. Aside from that, I made well use of my layover as my hotel was only 2 blocks away. Came in about an hour remaining until the store closes at 7pm. Anyways, I went in after the hottest part of the summer day, the heat didn't die down. But I could look around without getting caught in a large crowd of shoppers. Don't you love how they place many of the sale items all the way on the top floor. It's a simple walk upstairs, plus the men's merchandise is on the second floor anyway. I initially went in with a look in mind. Tried out the first outfit and got the sizes matched up right away. While still scanning the sales floor, I put together a 2nd and 3rd option. Salesperson was very helpful trying to find my size. I do like their dressing rooms. Nice and big with bright lights like you are on the runway or a photo shoot! If your register your email with the cashier, you'll get an additional 10% off. Gotta love a deal! read more

This store has everything I love about a good Urban Outfitters or young person clothing store in general. Yes, it's hipster af; that's not a bug, it's a feature. Who doesn't love some good old arcade games and bespoke light fixtures? The clothes are still pricey, but if you shop sales, you'll be ok. This location gets four stars because it's just nicer than the Mill Ave one. I feel like the sale rack here has more variety- you're more likely to stumble on something awesome. Dressing rooms are clean and reasonably spacious, and you can take in a lot of items. The staff here are five star all the way. They're super friendly and helpful without looming/lurking around you all the time. read more

I'm glad this location is still the closest to me (by one minute) from the new Arrowhead mall location. I will gladly shop at the WASHINGTON ST location and ANY Urban Outfitters location before going back to that one. I can't write a review because their location isn't on Yelp. I happened to have to return an item in store which I never do because I'm black and less professional workers want to treat you like you're trying to commit a crime. I return through the mail. So here we go, the person I get... she's unfriendly, she has to call her manager to see if she can put the credit on a gift card, and acts like she doesn't want to hand it to me when we're done. It's cringeworthy and makes me feel like a criminal. I buy things all the time and return things rarely so for them to treat me like that is disturbing. I didn't get angry, because racists don't understand that's what they are. I just did my business and left. Again, this was for the ARROWHEAD LOCATION. It should be called the ARROGANT LOCATION, because everyone there has an air of superiority and to be working in a mall, they really need to take it down. You know something, I've NEVER visited an Urban location but have always been intrigued due to the rumour mill of unique gifts, OAK clothing, etc. So very glad I trapsed over today during my lunch hour. SALE leaped out at me and I bee-lined for the left corner. Bought a "Shit to Do" notepad on clearance which is whimsical and makes me smile, and flower-infused lip gloss. Was in a penny-pinching mood so I bypassed the Lena Dunham hard-bound book on clearance for $9.99. Gee whiz- I'll just go to the library I guess... The Urban Outfitters downtown is much smaller than most of the others I have been in, otherwise it is just like all the others. It's a nice addition to Downtown Phoenix though. The center area by the register is my favorite spot in Urban Outfitters, a place filled with silly stuff, great for gifts and many of them making you chuckle. Think Jesus action figure. :) What I particularly noticed was an entire wall of old school camera and film, like the Diana and film that had funny names that I have never heard-- You know Hipstamatic iPhone app- it's the camera and film that really did some of those settings. Very cool!! If you work in the area, I suggest stopping in to break up your long work day and have a good laugh, the book section is hysterical! read more

I first walked into the store and loved it, as I picked up 6 items, I went to the dressing room. As soon as I left I seen one of those safety pins that they put on clothing, so you can't steal or the alarm will go off through the door. I seen one left behind on the sitting area in the dressing room, but it wasn't mine so I minded my business and left it behind in the room. As soon as I left and was looking around one of the girls came up to me asking to see my item and I was like sure! And my item ofc still had the black alarm safety pin, so she just looked at me weird and left. As I kept looking around she kept eyeing me and watching everything I did. It made me super uncomfortable, because if they asked I would have shown my bag, it was that simple and I would have never taken offense to it. Because I understand where they were coming from, but making me uncomfortable and want to leave ? That was way over board. THEN we come back because my friend accidentally got charged for an item TWICE and needed her money back. As we came back the same girl was eyeing me and it made me even more uncomfortable. THEN this man working there ask my friend who was looking at the pens "are you actually going to buy that". And she looked at him and put it back and walked away and she didn't tell me until later. Which then we walk back in and buy two pens because why would you be rude to a customer just checking out something? Then my friend buys more stuff she bought over 7 items and they never gave her a shoulder bag instead they shoved her items in the small bags. But I seen other girls receiving shoulder bags for only 4 items? Anyways PLEASE do better. I don't appreciate the way they made us feel and how rude they were to us. I love their socks. Like, totally completely would get married to their sock selection. As work for a rather conservative bank, and my standard work wardrobe is equally reserved, it's always a pleasure to spice things up with funky socks and sexy underwear. True, if I ever reveal the latter I'd probably get canned, but still I know they're there. As for the rest of the clothes, they are a bit on the pricey side. But the clothing does seem to be geared toward people my size, so I can't go hating. What a cute store. We came in to get a Kraken backpack for my daughter for school. Everyone greeted us politely and check out was fast and easy. We don't usually go downtown but it was our only option and we enjoyed the little plaza where the store is located. We parked in the parking garage and they validated our parking voucher. Urban Outfitters is a nice addition to downtown Phoenix's CityScape. Serving up the hippest clothes, books, houseware, etc, it is a mecca for all things cool! Sadly it will probably end up putting all the surrounding boutique clothing stores out of business over time, but that's just the risk you take as a business owner. This particular UO has great customer service! Everybody seems very happy and eager to help, and it also has a really large men's section! My only beef is that they don't carry many higher end brands... and I get it, it's not really the right demographic for it... Maybe once Phoenix builds itself up a bit more... read more

I highly approve of CityScape putting an Urban Outfitters in downtown. It caters to all the 20-somethings, like myself, who don't always want to drive to Tempe or Fashion Square for their shopping needs. It's a 2-level store with the clearance stuff all located upstairs. That's usually my first stop. I found a great throw pillow there for $5, plus numerous $5 shirts or $20 button downs for my hubby. It's one of our favorite places to shop. Nice and friendly employees and ample dressing room space, also located upstairs. Things can be pricey, but it's something to expect at all UO stores. They validate your parking, so don't forget to ask! read more

Sometimes when I have time between work and school I like to stop in here. Peruse the sales and then head upstairs to the clearance items. I usually find a thing or two that I like and at a good price to boot. I love the style clothing they carry. I love the location. I hate the parking garage. Oh well. The employees are super nice and helpful. Always ask if they can start a room for me when I am carying a few items around the store. Its all very nice. You know how some stores you go into, and the associates act so desperate to make a sale, so they're constantly on you about items! Not here, customer service was great. This is a really awesome UO! The store is clean, well-stocked, and huge. The staff was really helpful and friendly, the sale section had some awesome deals ($50 button-up shirt for $20...just saying), and I love the little books and toys. I think once City Scape gets filled out a little more it will be a great place to go on a regular basis since its right near the light rail. read more

This is a pretty nice store and the staff is awesome. The only complaint I have is that it's just too cheap. They only want 35 dollars for a shirt. If I'm going to get a basic cotton T-shirt that costs less than three dollars with a basic design or a 90s reference I need to at least drop 60 on it. Also I don't think vinyl is a hot seller here because they've had mostly the same stuff for awhile now. They don't get any of the exclusives but fear not, they have about ten copies of the Spice Girls album and anything a 19 year old white girl would want. Also they make it a point where the fitting rooms are gender neutral and as someone who sexually identifies as the film Die Hard 2 this pleases me. read more

The people that work at Urban Outfitters are really nice and the vinyl records were pretty cool, but overall, the place wasn't that good. Most of the clothes were trendy and quite expensive. I saw a dress there that was $80 and at another store I saw a similar dress that was less than $20! But wait... There's more! Some of the clothing, accessories, and books were VERY inappropriate for kids (even younger teens). There was one thing I saw that was completely shocking... There was a cookbook... that showed you how to cook with MARIJUANA! Why in the world is there a marijuana cookbook? But.... There WAS a NUTELLA cookbook. I love Nutella by the way. Urban Outfitters are the same everywhere you go. They've got everything funky imaginable. Looking for a funny book to give to a friend? Searching for a birthday gag gift? Need some clothing from every random trend around? How about some funky furniture and decor? Urban's got it all. But this Urban is also incredibly neat and organized. I've never been in one where everything is perfectly folded and put in its place. This might be a bad sign for the location since that could also mean nobody is shopping here, but I hope that's not the case. i'll admit it, i like urban outfitters. what i like even more is not having to drive to scottsdale or tempe to shop there. the one at cityscape is new and nice, and they have a lot of products. they have an awesome selection of misc items that keeps me in the store for about an hour. lots of cool little odds and ends. you can find a sweet gift for anyone in here, and it doesn't even have to be clothing. yes, they're a little expensive. but if you have the money to spend, it's worth it. lots of hip wear for your urban afficiando. staff was friendly and helpful. one of the few shopping places that's already open at cityscape offering affordable post modern wear; i dig it. read more

This is a pretty typical Urban Outfitters, but just a bit smaller.... I am so happy they added one downtown though! If you're looking for funky things to wear or for your dorm or apartment check here. Last time I was here I got some cool hot pink lights for my bedroom on clearance for like $4.00 and some really cute clearance shirts.
