They re-stained them a dark brown which now makes them look significantly richer and serves to complement the rest of my home decor. Alberto and another worker did the actual work. They were on-time, took care with my belongings, finished when promised, cleaned up exceptionally well with the completion of the work. We relied on temporary ramps and awkward workarounds just to get him in and out of the house. We wanted to make our home fully accessible, but we were worried it would end up looking institutional or awkward. Ray completely exceeded our expectations. He redesigned and rebuilt all of the concrete in both our front and backyard as well as the driveway, raising and adjusting the grades so everything is ADA compliant with smooth ramps and proper transitions. He also added new walkways that didn't exist before, making it possible for our son to easily access every door of our home. The most incredible part is that Ray managed to make everything functional without sacrificing the beauty or charm of our home. The ramps blend so naturally into the design that they honestly just look like part of a beautifully planned landscape. Instead of looking medical or industrial, the house actually looks even better than it did before. The project also included removing several very large trees, re-landscaping, and completely repainting the exterior of our home, which tied everything together perfectly. (Main bathroom demo, remodel, and closet addition)…read more After losing a deposit with a contractor who gave me a quote ranging from 80k-150k for a whole house remodel, it took 3 years before I felt comfortable enough to find a new contractor who would remodel one bathroom in desperate need. I'd contacted various firms: some felt my budget was too small and others didn't even call back. I was very cautious about the whole situation. I met with Sandra and Esvin to discuss what I wanted. I stopped by their showroom which was nicely done and that sold me on the quality of their work. Sandra was very knowledgeable and was able to help me narrow down the design based on what would pass inspection. She also laid out the law for me about when contractors could accept payments and how they're usually spaced out. I told her my budget and she was able to work with it. They even pulled the permits which the previous contractor wanted me to do! I worked a lot with Wendy who was super helpful with my endless questions-including input on design options. Since I wasn't working with an architect, designer, or even a floor plan, her accessibility was very helpful and reassuring. The proposal was laid out a la carte so there was a lot of flexibility in choosing my materials and removing elements I no longer wanted. The Vasquez crew is skilled and hardworking and the whole project was completed in about 2 months. The entire project stayed on budget with the only changes they proposed were fixing a section of the bathroom (which was an addition) that had been poorly attached to the main house (you could see through a gap to the outside) and budget increases were because of my own design choices (which I don't regret!). The experience wasn't perfect so it wouldn't be right to review it as such--but the issues I ran into were so miniscule that I don't feel it's even worth knocking down a star because they could have been easily resolved with more communication and questions from my end. There were a few small hiccups: -a doorway into the bathroom from the main bedroom that was initially proposed didn't fit so had to be removed from the design altogether. -The city didn't approve a light i had wanted to be installed over the tub and somewhere in excitement of a new bathroom I didn't get the message - the window I wanted had been discussed with Esvin, and was telephoned to Wendy so the one that arrived weeks after the initial conversation wasn't what I initially wanted but waiting on it would have been a 6-week delay and I chose to settle for the window that was available to keep the project moving. -the cleanup wasn't included. A plastic sheeting had been draped over my furniture but it was very light and while it kept a lot of dust away, there was still a lot of dust I had to clean up, as well as debris (tile bits, dust, buckets, etc.) in the side yard. As a first-time homeowner, this was my first true experience with a remodel and I am happy with the process and the outcome. I'm already planning out my other projects and look forward to working with them.

After the concrete cured, I noticed several areas that looked uneven and poorly finished. I was told it just needed more time to dry, but even a year later it still looked bad and continued to bother me. I decided to get this fixed. After reaching out to a few companies, I found New Polish CS through Yelp. George showed up right on time for our appointment, was friendly, professional, and provided a very reasonable quote for the amount of work involved. We ultimately decided to grind down the existing surface and do a full concrete overlay to create a more uniform finish. From the beginning, George was incredibly thorough and customer-focused. He provided multiple stain samples to choose from and walked me through every decision, from the texture to the final sealer. It's rare to find someone who genuinely cares about the quality of their work and their customers' satisfaction, but George is one of those people. His crew worked hard and paid close attention to detail. Because the backyard was still drying when the project was completed, I wasn't able to do a final inspection right away. A few days later, I noticed a couple of minor issues and called George. Without hesitation, he came back and took care of everything. The difference is literally night and day. The porch had old, failing paint, and we needed a solution that looked good and was non-slip. After going over our options, we chose a simple grind to remove the old coating, followed by a non-slip paint application. Johnny and Issac listened to what we wanted, explained what they could do, and made a sample. The difference was huge. Because we were so nervous from all the prior missteps (and being told we had unrealistic expectations), one of us sat and watched the entire process. Johnny is the one with high expectations, starting with 100 grit and ending with 1500 grit and he was facetious with removing all dust before a hardener and seal were applied. Our courtyard was a big investment for us and now it actually looks like it was.
