The selection is huge, but it's really the people that keep me coming back. The shop team is awesome and they actually listen. If something isn't feeling right with your gear, they're super open to feedback and want to make it right. Matt, the shop manager, is the man. He's incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, and easy to work with. It makes a huge difference going into a season knowing your gear was handled by people who care. I also have to give a massive shoutout to Caesar, who helped me with a boot fit recently. I can't say enough good things about him. He sat there and listened to every single complaint I had about my old boots and didn't stop until we found the perfect pair. We tried on at least four different sets, and he was so patient through the whole process. What I appreciated most was how honest he was about the tradeoffs between different fits. He explained exactly what I should be looking for and how to adjust them on the fly. He moved me from a "beginner" comfort fit into a performance boot that feels worlds better on the snow. I really hope he's still there when I'm ready for my next pair, but honestly, with how good he is, he'll probably be running the company by then. Whether you're just starting out or you've been skiing for years, go to Evo. They have the perfect mix of being approachable but also knowing exactly what they're talking about.

I had a lot of fun learning with Rob/team and the other students, and I was even approached by a curious seal! One thing I wanted to highlight is Rob & team's emphasis on safety. I so appreciated how seriously they take SUP safety. I felt very safe in their care, and after this class I feel confident about venturing out onto the Sound, with a SUP buddy or two, to practice what I learned in class. I randomly find made in Portugal shoes that may run for $280 to $300 for $40. I think it's about approach. I will say that the Cap Hill location feels like the grow up sibling. I go here for Scotch and Soda blazers, Camper shoes, random Nike collabs, and a $20 dress shirt. I am happy that this crossroads exists. Service is hit or miss. The page allows for opening and closing the locker. Keep in mind to when returning the equipment to snap a photo before you close the door as your ending the rental requires a photo as proof, so snap the photo showing all items are returned and close the door :), once that happens, the rental ends and you have a receipt for it. Experience was easy and fun. Not having to lug and inflate a paddle board and deflate it was great :) it is going to get crowded and a lot of use this summer, I don't believe they have a method to do appointment rental time blocks.
