I've been shopping at crossroads for over a decade. I've found some really good gems and still have a selvedge denim jacket and an All Saints pea coat. Given the location of the store, I'm glad there is security. The selection does reflect a younger ish demographic of 20 something college students with a sprinkle of vintage Pendleton and Eddie Bauer. If you know what you're looking for and study brands, this is a great shop. I found a made in Amsterdam recycled blanket sweater which is super cozy. I randomly find made in Portugal shoes that may run for $280 to $300 for $40. I think it's about approach. I will say that the Cap Hill location feels like the grow up sibling. I go here for Scotch and Soda blazers, Camper shoes, random Nike collabs, and a $20 dress shirt. I am happy that this crossroads exists. Service is hit or miss. Over 10 years it's hard to quantify the helpful from the snooty. I think all in all I give it a 7 out of 10. read more

The selection of women's clothes here is okay, but definitely not worth it for the price. I saw multiple faded & worn out Brandy Melville tops selling for $15-$18 even tho it's $20-$24 for the same item full price on Brandy Melville's website. Definitely disappointing for a thrift store, selection and price wise. My Hispanic bf has also felt like they treat him differently every-time he goes in there without me. And from reading these reviews it seems like other people have noticed this issue too. And I have noticed I get treated differently when I go in with him than when I go alone or with friends. read more

The people were nice but just want to give anyone that's sold here for a while a heads up, they have definitely updated their policy with regard to trade ins. Many similar items I have traded in before they did not take. It is extremely selective now, and they want things to either be a great brand name or excellent condition. All to say, don't waste time lugging 4 bags of clothes you don't wear anymore over here. Prices on items do seem to actually be lower now though, so in terms of shopping experience I think it has improved. read more

As someone who frequented crossroads in the mid 2000s and a male of color and straight..I have had many observations about this place .. Also i don't think I would recommend this place to any black people that want to sell. They are very likely to get a low balled amount when selling... I would like to point out that I've given this place plenty of chances just as another Yelp review (Mia D from 9 months ago) had stated below. The employees who work here treat BIPOC customers with little to no integrity when it comes to buying their clothes and/or providing basic customer service. They told me to stay in the store while looking at my clothes in case I just leave and dump them there while giving their White presenting customers the benefit of the doubt. You would think that a thrift store located in U District would do better than discriminate based on race or color. When I brought in 4 bags of clothes to sell, the employees talked down on me while giving their White presenting customers courtesy and basic manners. Per their instruction I stayed in the store and noticed them treating other folks of color similarly to the way they treated me. The store itself has some cute finds albeit slightly overpriced for the quality. However the employees 100% make coming here NOT worth the trauma. read more

I visited this store on 4/23/25 around 6-7pm. The staff told me that they're closing in 5 minutes, and since I was on my airbuds, I asked her to repeat it. She said 'either check something out or go out in 5 minutes,' which I find offending. When I was going out of the store, I was struggling opening the door. She again shouted, 'push, push, push!' I did not feel welcomed at all my time at this store. The staff was young black girl that works around Wednesday 7pm at that store, if that helps the owner of the store identify who the worker treats customers very unwelcomed. read more

Replying to Sean F. If you see your other reviews on here, this seems to be a recurring issue. So you sitting there replying to my terrible review, does not mean a whole lot, when clearly there is a very big issue with this location. Maybe think about shutting this spot down and focusing more on Cap Hill since they not only take clothes that are provided there, but will donate what they do not want/use. They do majority of the work load from U District and still have a better service. Shocked to see the lack of work this location does, by literally not taking anything brought in and also not taking any unwanted clothes to donations or tossing. So they don't do the work Cap Hill does and still have a piss poor customer service. You want to shut it down and open a sorority, that would make the most sense. However, all in all, the lack of service, and not accepting any kind of clothing for sale, when Cap Hill took most of my clothes clearly shows something is wrong here. ****THIS STORE DOES SELL FAKES***, also strongly agree the attitude of employees here like 1/10, as if they're better than you and simultaneously hate being there. Not everything is fake but do your own due diligence before buying an item from here since i ended up with a fake designer shirt. I definitely was under the idea that the brands they resell are authentic- after all they have employees/"buyers" checking for this right? but the biggest point is that selling counterfeits are illegal, period.. their business model is based off reselling clothes that are branded or designer. I had bought a CDG (brand) shirt off the wall, paid for it immediately and only once I got home did I realize the tag is the fakest tag that most counterfeit cdgs have. With this low quality of fake, their employees definitely didn't check this at all. Top it off, I asked the lady why I got a fake when I thought their store checks all the items when doing consignment and she basically goes welp we have a bunch of employees and not everyones trained for every brand. I get the logic but I find that wouldnt pass in a court of law lmao... also example: let's say you don't have a license to sell weed, police ask why your plant shop is selling weed and you go "well not all our employees know every plant". lol. i'm sure thatd go down well. if it's illegal then you better be well versed. most of all though, it's the attitude both times i've been here, they're just so unfriendly. I went in today to drop some clothes off and was met with the absolute worst customer service ever. The woman who was checking me in had the rudest tone and choice of words. Made me feel so small and disrespected. After my clothes was gone through, I asked to see what they took and instead got reprimanded saying "I should've watched the process." I have worked retail and customer service before and I would never treat my customers like that nor would I want them representing my store if I was the owner. Crossroads rejected everything I brought in and suggested to Goodwill - but before that I thought to try ThredUp and got $50 for my items at a ~15-20% payout rate. read more

Selection here is either hit or miss. I've sold clothes here several times in the past and have always had a good experience with that. I always look through the racks while the buyers go through the items I've brought in. We popped in here looking for Halloween items but they didn't have much inventory on their racks. I needed some metallic shoes but there wasn't an easy way to see what they had available in shoes as they didn't seem to be organized in any fashion. I asked an associate for help and we wandered around the store for five minutes before she asked me what size I was looking for. At that point she took me to the racks that would have my size available. I was thinking that would have been more helpful to have gone straight there when I initially asked for help with the shoes. They get some really cute items in once in awhile, but you never know when or what will be available so you should drop by on the regular. read more

The one and two star reviews of this place are all 100% accurate. They are so picky about what they'll take to sell yet somehow this store literally feels like a dirty lost and found bin from 2014. All of this wouldn't be enough for me to take the time to write this review, it's the pure cold rudeness of their staff that really irks me. It's ironic too because their manager responds to almost all the reviews about how rude their staff is but they can't seem to figure out how to hire better people. It's really not that hard to find decent, professional, adult employees. Their staff is a bunch of apathetic, bratty children and it's really not doing their sad location any favors. I stopped into this place the other day on a recommendation to sell some items I had kicking around. The line upon entering was longggg which I wasn't expecting but signed in and it moved quickly. I browsed while waiting, they had a really vast and cool selection of clothes. Everything for brands, in good shape, and really reasonable prices. I was specifically on the hunt for boots and 7.5 must be a popular shoe size because they didn't have much sadly. Anyways, I went back when called to have my things sorted, they were friendly and respectful of my things and ended up buying some. What they didn't buy, I ended up going through and donating some just because I'm tired of trying to consign them! What I kept that they didn't buy I'll try elsewhere, but overall this is a cool spot with really friendly staff. read more

I have given this location a lot of chances but after today I just had to express this: a couple weeks ago I brought in some nice dresses to sell good brands rejected everything in like 2 seconds.. I brought the same items to Capitol Hill location and they bought them and actually took some time to look. Today I brought in two pairs of designer shoes ones never worn the other lightly but because of the kind of shoe it is you can't tell. They rejected it in 90 seconds or less with a reason like flats don't do well here when I have eyes and I can see flats and another shopper actually holding flats. I also observed them rejected another person of colors entire bag of sell stuff. at this point I feel there is a prejudice against buying from people of color. I go in there pretty often because I'm in the area and it's never been a good experience even to shop they need to hire new employees and I'm a manager myself I just am appalled and grossed out read more

Hardly any sizes... for someone large or bigger not plus size friendly or even large friendly. Unless you're under a size ten there's no selection... which makes no sense. I've been waiting for 40 minutes to sell I've already seen an argument with a seller, extremely uncomfortable feel like a security guard is pacing in front of me. Energy is confrontational and cold. Two buyers are very slowly going through one bag together. The one dress that would fit hanging on the wall is pretty faded at $47.75 dollars.. everyone seems to be taking their time. One buy took 20 minutes, for some reason the buyer is manually typing things into the computer extremely slowly as she looks at each clothes and tags them and chats while I sit here with no updates on a steal bench.. she seems to be looking for clothes for herself and chatting . A former employee showed up and somehow cut me in line with an extremely large selection of 4 moving bags. Miserable experience. read more

The quality of clothing available here is "meh" at best. They pride themselves on having "trendy/selling items" in the store but when I was in there, I did not find anything I wanted to purchase. Some of the clothing available smelled. Customer service is also "meh". When I walked in, no greeting. No acknowledgement of existence. That's not necessarily a bad thing but if your product sucks, at least the customer service should be above average. Overall the store is just okay. I'm a frequent seller here. I usually bring it New or barely worn items. I have disclosed my line of work before with the associates here. Today my buyer was Arielle. She saw I had some new items. And condescendingly asks do you have a receipt for this? Me no. Do you have a receipt for this? Me again no. Me if it's a problem I can go somewhere else. Arielle no it's fine in a snarky tone. Me no you know what i feel uncomfortable selling here now and I will go elsewhere. She then rudely tosses my things back in my bag. It's not so much that she asked but her tone. I had actually searched my bag and did have all three receipts with me which made me laugh as I walked out. Because all she had to say is why she wanted to see my receipts and I would've happily obliged. Had I known I even had them when she asked. I still don't know why she wanted them or what she planned on doing with them. But I ended up going to a different consignment shop and just offered my receipts up front. But they told me they don't need to see receipts. That being said this experience was enough for me and I won't be coming back. I'll stick to other consignment shops and poshmark. Being a thrift store junkie from the NYC area, I was so pleased to see that Seattle has a thriving thrift store community, and I visited Crossroads for this reason. I am mainly interested in designer brands for less, so I was pleased to see that near the ceiling was a lot of designer clothes. I thought the prices for those were rather reasonable - a Prada purse for around $100, Marc by Marc Jacobs jacket for around $30, Alice + Olivia dress for around $40, etc. Unfortunately none of the items particularly interested me for me to hail down a sales associate. On the main floor, the stuff is sorted by men's, women's, and within they are broken down by what type of clothing it is: skirts, pants, sweaters, jackets, etc. There were also shoes on top of the racks, in no particular order or size. At first glance, you think, wow this place has a lot of stuff, but as you peruse the racks, you find that 95% of the items are from brands like H&M, Forever 21, Gap, etc. which is fine, given that the prices are pretty cheap as is (I would say under $10 for most items)--although given that stuff from Forever 21 is not that expensive to begin with, I would actually say just go to the real store for a) new clothing and b) similar prices. There was a handful of North Face jackets for around $20-$30 but they seemed kinda scruffy. I also did see some MNG by Mango and Nordstrom rack in bulk, so I think this store gets a lot of overstock from some stores. I saw some Coach purses floating around for around $20-$30 but these were mostly the older styles (also canvas material, not leather). I even saw what appeared to be a Fendi purse for $14.00, but given that it wasn't located at the front of the counter where the "nice" designer stuff was, it made me think that this purse was indeed fake - which led me to wonder why this store would promote selling fake designer items in the first place. The front counter had the nice stuff, like some Frye boots, Marc by Marc Jacobs, etc. but these definitely cost $50-$200 or so. Anyway, check this store out if you just like browsing a LOT of clothing (I did pick up a cute fedora for $6), but do note that most of the clothing here, although pretty cheap in price, is kind of mediocre. read more

Within the past two days, I have been to two Crossroads locations in the Seattle area. This one was far superior. The location is pretty large, and there were bargains to be found. It is hit or miss, but there were plenty of eye catching items at bargain prices. 1. About seven Nordstrom loose cardigans for about $5 each! What a deal as these originally sell for $20+. 2. There were plenty of items from more upscale stores like Banana Republic, Anne Taylor Loft, and BCBG for less than $20. Some were even brand new with tags and all. 3. Juicy may be in trouble because I saw four purses for less than $20. These things retail for up to $200. They were a bit worn though so I guess the brand's decision to start shipping out wasn't a good one... 4. My purchases! I hit the half off rack hard. Free People Cardi-$5 Silence and Noise (Urban Outfitters) Tank-$4 J Crew Cardi-$5 Cute cowl neck top-$4 Cha-bang. Lately I have been the true bargain hunter and seem to have less fun at the full price store. We went to the University Village, and I left with some licorice. We went to Crossroads, and I left with four cute items! read more

The reason for this low rating is the 'Living wage Surcharge.' It's a surcharge of 2.5% on top of tax that only this retailer has chosen to implement, and is not a required tax. This is not posted anywhere near the register, nor in any obvious places around the store, and considering their returns are for store credit only (and wouldn't refund this surcharge once noticed), I'll definitely stop shopping here based on lack of company transparency alone. Some restaurants have reconfigured their charging structure, they always include this on bills (as well as most menus). In a news article I read, they say they're not increasing their prices like other places-- and yet that seems better to me because it's not a sneaky add-on and that new price is right their on the tag, transparent to the customer. As far as the selection, it's middle of the road, with prices that are hit and miss. There's usually more value in higher end brands, where Forever 21 and H&M stuff could be found cheaper on sale new. I'm posting this review in hope that other people won't get duped like I did. Just remember, that item you're looking at will cost you 2.5% more than the tag! read more

This is a really fun place to stop by if you're near the university. They have a lot of trendy clothes and bags here. Their men's section is a bit smaller so my husband didn't really look around. I had a blast while perusing their items. I found a hidden gem, a Northface jacket for $25. It was the exact jacket that I had been eyeing for a while but never did because it was too expensive. I was so thrilled and the jacket was in pretty nice condition I also bought a really cute summer dress here. They seem to have a pretty good bag selection too. I think if you're looking for hip clothing that is in fashion, this place would be great for you. It appears the local students sell all their stuff here. Also, the sales clerks seem pretty friendly and helpful. The one thing that I really disliked was the fact that everything was terribly organized. I couldn't understand the logic behind how they organized their stuff. Mediums, smalls, and larges were all on the same rack. I had to literally sort through the stuff that worked/didn't work for me. There were so many times where I picked something super cute up but was disappointed soon after because it was the wrong size. I get that thrift stores are generally a little e more disorganized BUT Goodwill seems to have their stuff pretty nicely displayed and organized by size. It would probably save the customer a lot of time if they sorted things out better. read more

I had amassed three giant bags of clothes and was ready to give Crossroads a try to see what I could get in exchange. After hearing about how they will pay more for your gently-used stuff, I plopped my bags at the counter to await the final cash-out balance. The U-District station has a few good things going on here: - vast selection of designer shoes!! - a few nicer pieces by higher ended brands; such as Seven, Ferragamo, Prada, Arden .B etc. - They give you 50% in store credit for item exchange! - Its clean and bright, clothing isn't so clumped together massively. The Nons: - I only got about $18.00 in cash for my items. Not a huge surprise, but I was disappointed. - If your looking for hidden gems, look elsewhere. You'll find plenty of old hollister and abercrombie tees instead. In the end, I took the $18. bucks. Mainly because I hardly ever find anything at this local anyway. read more

I went into the shop today to have a look around (new to the area). I went in and was passively greeted by one of the workers. I browsed around, but nothing interested me. It did seem fairly priced. As I was leaving I saw that both workers weren't speaking with a customer so I looked directly at both girls and asked if they're taking clothing any time or do I need an appointment. The first girl scoffed at me and returned to the counter to help a customer and the second girl laughingly told me in a patronizing way "yes we always accept clothing." And the both girls look at me, looked at each other, and hysterically started laughing at me. I'm not an aggressive or rude person so I decided to walk out and continue shopping. I have never received such rude customer service in my life. I will never be back and will be sure to spread the word on how they treat their customers. read more

This place is pretty nice and their clothes are cute! I prefer this store over Buffalo Exchange, probably because they carry brands that I actually wear. Their designer jeans are nice and cheap! They also have a variety of sizes and I love how they color code their tops. It makes browsing SO much easier and it's easier on the eyes too. They require you to check in larger bags when you go in though, so that may be a pain but it shouldn't be a big deal. And when I tried selling clothes to them, they took down my name and they let me know when they were done (which was very helpful because I'm usually just there to sell anyway.) I like how they feature different items on the walls and post signs of what brands they're currently looking for. read more

I've always had a good experience selling here but this might just be my last time here. I brought in a mixture of high end and middle name brands. The buyer, Sarah eventually took 5 items of which I got 40+ in cash and 60+ in store credit. I asked to see what 5 items she took but she said she can't remember as she has tagged them and in a can't be bothered attitude. I mean, seriously? Buffalo Exchange will always put aside the items they are buying so you'll know what you are getting. And I don't even know how much I'm getting and you've tagged them? When I came back, I found out she took 2 of my most expensive items out of the 5. And I got a mere amount of money for it. The 2 items cost more than $600 of which one is a brand new bag. Of course I understand you have a policy or whatnot to adhere to, what your customers are willing to pay blah blah blah, seasonal clothing etc. BUT it is really ridiculous the amount of money I'm getting for really high end stuff. And if she had shown me what she took, I wouldn't have sold it in the first place because it's just not worth it. read more

Absolute waste of time! I checked in with the online portal. I came in the store told an employee I was 2nd in line. The employee said they would be able to review my items in 10 minutes when she is done with the items she was working on. After 15 minutes another customer comes to the counter and the same employee says she will help her with her items in 5 minutes when she is done. Completely disregarding that I had been waiting there for 15 minutes. The employee said nothing to me about this. I had to go up and ask what happened to my place in line and she said that the woman had been there first! Why encourage the online check in if they will only prioritize drop ins? This employee obviously doesn't understand how time and time commitments work! Do not bother selling here they won't even try to look at your stuff! read more

This store is everything a consignment store should be - clean, well laid out, well organized, and with a great selection of merchandise in excellent condition. It's located near the U, so it certainly caters to the college crowd, but I'm well past college age and had plenty to check out and try on, as did my teenage daughter. The dressing rooms are off to the back and nicely private, and there are plenty of them, along with a staff member to help you since you're not allowed to take too much in at once. The staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful. I left with three nearly-new coats (yes, I needed them - all of them), while my daughter found some fun clothes and a quirky see-through backpack. I called in to ask how it goes if I choose to sell my belongings at this place before I went in store. The lady on the phone told me that I didn't have to make an appointment I just had to walk in. But however after one and a half hour of waiting in the store they told me I need a physical ID in order to sell for since it's my first time. I was not notified this when I called over earlier in the day, I carried all of my stuff for an hour to get here. And the wait line was super long, no efficiency whatsoever. Very disappointed and unprofessional, they should have said something when I called knowing that I was a first time seller. read more

I went to this place right after trading at Buffalo exchange. Their waitlist option was convenient, and they text you when its your turn so you can step out for some time and then come back. The did pick more quality items but not a lot as they said they were pretty full. The trading process was much slower after my experience at buffalo. While the staff is going through your stuff, they seem to be doing several other things and discussing between themselves. I patiently waited but at the end what disappointed me was the disordered pile they left my clothes they didn't want. It was so bad everything couldn't fit back into my box and they didn't even try. This location seems to be pretty low on stock, but the items are nice. Plenty of stuff if you're looking for trendy items and you're a Medium or Small. I usually wear a L or XL in women's and the selection in those sizes is abysmal. Literally 3 dresses in my size. Less than 10 pairs of jeans over a size 10. A bit more in the leggings/not-denim-pants rack. Seriously? And then a little sign that says "Want more in this size? Sell us your clothes!". I tried and all they took was an oversized sweater marked as an XS, so I have a feeling they don't actually want folks bigger than a larrge to shop there. So I previously gave this place 5 stars however I'm changing it because I was very disappointed the last time I was here. I usually come here to get cheap designer clothes, and I grabbed some clothes to try on which were marked with high end brands on the tag like "lululemon" and "kate spade".. However when I went to try it on I realized that they had just put a tag on that said it was high end but the logo wasn't on the clothes and there was no tags on the clothes to indicate that these were actually the designer clothes they were trying to pass them off as.
